Fantastic. I think that about sums up my experience here.
I had purchased waterproof soft shell a couple of years ago and it had served me well. A couple of weeks ago, the seam where the hood meets the jacket split open, with the hood about 50% detached from the rest of the coat. Not good.
Patagonia has a policy where if the jacket "fails" for reasons such as mentioned above - Patagonia will exchange the jacket for a new one. I am sure there are limits on this policy, but I am not sure what those limits are.
I was skeptical that they would simply replace my jacket, but figured I would give it a shot.
I was warmly greeted at the door by some guy in an organic dyed shirt. I laid out the situation for him, showed him my busted jacket, he spent a few minutes inspecting it himself and said, "yup, I think we will just replace this jacket". That was just awesome.
This was not just some, "well I guess I have to replace your jacket" vibe. The sales guy walked me over to the new version of my jacket, helped my find my size, explained proper care for the jacket, etc. He definitely did not need to do all of this....especially on a busy weekend afternoon.
I was thoroughly pleased with my experience at this Patagonia store.
