The 11 Best Long Island Wineries - Long Island - The Infatuation

"Paumanok might not be as shiny or new as some of the other wineries in the North Fork, but it definitely makes some of the best and most interesting wines. You should make a reservation, but once you arrive, you can enjoy a glass or tasting inside, on the deck overlooking the vineyards, or lounged back in an Adirondack chair on the grass. Make sure to try the chenin blanc—it has notes of bananas and lemonade and is unlike anything else you can find at a Long Island winery." - anne cruz

Paumanok Winery - Review - Aquebogue - Long Island - The Infatuation

"Paumanok might not be as shiny or new as some of the other wineries in the North Fork, but it definitely makes some of the best and most interesting wines. You’ll need to navigate its early aughts-era website to make a reservation, but once you arrive, you can enjoy a glass or tasting inside, on the deck overlooking the vineyards, or lounged back in an Adirondack chair on the grass. Enjoyed a fathers day weekend with my daughter, mom, girlfriend, and sister. Food was delicious but wine was very pricey. We enjoyed the outdoors and seating capacity. The service was great and we enjoyed out time there. I will definitely come back

Google
This winery was the first stop for a wine trip my wife and I took on our April break. Paumanok set the standard from the start. We enjoyed a white and red wine tasting separately and were surprised by the massive increase in quality from what we are accustomed to in CT. The view from the patio provided what looked for miles of vines in a very comfortable setting. The service was friendly and the tasting notes our server provided enhanced the experience. We will go out of our way to stop by again the next time we are back in the North Fork!

Google
I have loved this place for years but last weekend took it to a whole new level. We were walk ins on a Sunday, 7 of us. They took us no problem and we all ordered a build your own flight. Courtney served us, put the wines in best drinking order, and gave us a full lesson on each wine. Between the 7 of us was almost all their wines but she sat there and went through each wine, one by one, even though they were so packed. The first timers were so happy and it brought mine and my husband's love for the place to the next level. Their wines and views never disappoint! Thank you Paumanok as always, and thank you Courtney for making our day so wonderful! Can't wait to return!!!

Google
A beautiful drive into a gorgeous and green vineyard. I don’t drink alcohol, but the vineyard has three beautiful non alcoholic wines that they offer. I loved the Rose, personally. Shout out to Melissa for being so generous & kind while catering the event, and making sure I had a nice chilled glass of wine. Thank you to Ursula, Charles and Kareem! Will be back!

Google
The wait staff was absolutely amazing. The wines are spot on. The waitress knew exactly how the wines should taste and she was right on the money. The cheeses were delicious and paired well with the wines. The views are wonderful. Went there for mother's day and we would up spending 3 hours there just taking in the experience. Highly recommend this place.

Google
My husband and I were greeted by a friendly staff member with sparkling wine and then had the most wonderful experience getting a tour from Kareem. He was friendly and knowledgeable and taught us many things. After the tour our tasting were given by Chris on our private balcony with views of the vineyard and the figgy piggy sandwich was amazing! I highly recommend a tour!

Google
Horrible. Sat down immediately and was given water. Went downhill from there. Waited 20 minutes and finally had to go inside a request my wine. Asked for a pretzel but came 45 min later. The server gave us attitude because we did not wait to be served when it was convenient for her and did not stop to ask if we need anything. One & done. So many other wineries out there who appreciate the business. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

Google
Really enjoyed our stop at Paumanok Vineyards! The setting in the vineyards is beautiful and the tasting room has a window into the workroom for the winery. Our host was amazing and who knew you could carry that many bottles of wine at once?! Wine was very nice and the charcuterie board was great. We started out as the only ones in the tasting room which was great. Would definitely recommend and to guarantee a tasting make an appointment on Tock.

Yelp
The wine was great! I am so telling my friends about this place. The service was phenomenal they explained how each wine was made. The place was beautiful space between tables there was a bunch of seating erangments! 10/10 would so recommend!

Yelp
Absolutely loved this place ! They have an inside and outside section. Beautiful view of the vineyards. Relaxing. You order inside and take it outside. I believe I read that they had live music on the weekend. I didn't eat there but did have some cheese and crackers. We had An amazing time here. Posted a video on this on my social media: @jessiica0204

Yelp
First vineyard on my Long Island visit. We arrived right at opening and entered with ease. It is a beautiful space inside with a huge outside area. We were only staying for one drink so we stayed inside. I read online that the Chenin Blanc was their fan favorite at the winery. I really enjoyed it. A nice fruity wine white, it was exactly what I needed to start my wine adventure. I definitely want to come back to try more wines and grab another glass of the Chenin Blanc.

Yelp
Wonderful experience beautiful scenery lovely ambience friendly staff. Dog friendly I spent the afternoon with my daughters and it was the highlight of our vacation in South Hampton.

Yelp
Didn't experience much ambiance as it was pretty empty. It was also a but weird that they had a whole hour left and was pretty much shut down, then the POS system went down so they didn't accept credit cards. The one person forgot one if the drinks in our party as well. The bees were aggressive outside so we had to move inside. The staff for the most part were nice but between shutting down everything an hour early and the lack of experience its hard to rate this place high. I would give it another shot..maybe I would have a better experience under different circumstances.

Yelp
Nice place to stop on the way. The wines were ok, nothing special. However, the desert wine was exceptional. It was a late harvest Savignon Blanc. Hence, the reason it won 2023.. the time was made so amazing by Amelia. She knew her stuff and was super friendly! The charcuterie board with the french butter was to die for. The only issue was it was so cold inside. Almost to the point that you couldn't enjoy yourself. But I will still recommend stopping by!

Yelp
Wonderful afternoon at Paumanok Vineyards! Took advantage of the great weather to sit outdoors and enjoy two wine flights and their amazing charcuterie board. Our server Jean was so knowledgeable and recommended the perfect wines for us! Cannot wait to return with our friends. Looking forward to opening a few bottles of their wine at Thanksgiving!

Yelp
My favorite vineyard on Long Island! Came here on a September weekday with a reservation about 5 days prior. Be sure to make your reservation early bc they get filled fast especially on the nice days! The view here is just so beautiful and peaceful! We were sat at our own table. They had choices of wine flights, which not every vineyard has on Long Island. We got a couple of different flights and loved them all! What stood out about Paumanok is their food! Loved loved the bread and the charcuterie, it was just so soft and fresh, really tasted like it came right out the oven! Definitely try this vineyard if you are looking for one!

Yelp
The staff, views, food and wine are absolutely amazing! I cannot say thank you enough to Karen and Jane for their amazing service. They run a beautiful winery and the nicest people. I had the Palmer sparking rose and my husband had minimalist cab. Sauvignon. Both delicious and definitely would come back! If you want nice views of a winery good food and wine and not that noisy this is the place!

Yelp
Had a great summer wine lunch at Paumanok. We intended to try some flights, but instead settled on buying entire bottles to taste from and bring extra home (genius idea!). Hostess/server had good insight and recommendations, and the wines were good (chenin blanc hit the spot on a hot day, cab franc is a good example of an area specialty, and the festival red was a good pairing with pizza from Colasseo later in the day). Setting was beautiful and we walked among the vines as part of the experience.

Yelp
It has a nice deck overlooking pretty vineyards and it's a cool hang on a nice day but being a bit of a wine snob I wasn't overly impressed with her offering. I'm sure it's hard, but I just don't think the Northfork has really competitive wines. Not exactly inexpensive either. Sorry

Yelp
Welcome to Long Island summer life! Hello my fellow Yelpers! As a long islander, this is my very first time visiting a family-owned vineyard. The experience was both enriching and entertaining as well. This beautiful property is surrounded by a couple of acres of land. There's indoor and outdoor seating. Beautiful views. Decent wine selection. The charcuterie board was a nice compliment with the wine. My advice is, be ready when it comes to sun exposure and heat. Other than that, it's a great place for groups and of course, for couples too. The staff and servers are knowledgeable about the wines they serve.

Yelp
This place appears to value price over customers, which is a shame because the grounds are beautiful. Nickel and dime is not the way to run a winery. No food allowed, which is perfectly understandable for some places, but a few crackers we had to reset our pallet between sips apparently is shunned as they hawk their high priced crackers in place. Started a bit on the wrong foot there, but didn't ruin our day. When the bill came we were quoted a bit higher on the tasting. I asked about it (as it wasn't a big deal but wanted to know what the difference was) and waitress stated it was because one of our wines we selected was different than what was on the $30/4 wine selection. After mentioning our original waitress said we could substitute as long as the price was similar she took off the $2, gave a half "you happy now" smile, almost slammed down the receipt to sign and abruptly walked off. All over $2 in which I never asked for a refund only mentioning what was stated to us so they know. On our way out, that same waitress walks by us (glances our way) and slams the door to the back. Perhaps a bad day, but very inexcusable and lost a customer for life. If management is pinching pennies then I can see why the staff is unhinged.

Yelp
Our second time visiting without receiving service. This time (similar to last time) we waited 15 minutes outside with no service. I went inside to order and was rudely told that the individual I was talking to was in training and couldn't take my order. She would be out "when she could get to me." After 15 minutes we left. There were four groups seated at the winery, so unclear what caused the delay. This behavior mirrors our last experience where we felt like they didn't want us there.

Yelp
Riesling.... Riesling... Riesling.. ok and maybe the occasional also winning Gewurztraminer.. and Sauvignon Blanc also good here... ... its still interesting. Here Riesling is the new Chardonnay, and Gewurztraminer the new Sauvignon Blanc... These other white wines are not boring and are IN.. in this magical wineland of the North Fork. They have award winning Rieslings... if getting a few to go.. make sure to try a few of the award winners.. the dry and the semi dry.... one less sweet.. try both styles ... not one. to compare Winery of the year a few times at the NY Wine classic... third time as of this review. Talent and flavor are here.

Yelp
This is one of the best vineyards on Long Island! It's not only beautiful, but the people who run it, and the wines are the absolute best! The events here are also incredible! They really do such an awesome job making everyone who visits this winery, feel like family. We went for two different events and that's when we discovered this wonderful place. The first event was the 10 mile dinner with chef Tom Schaudel. My husband and I first found out about him at another event he did at Roanoke, (also an awesome winery)! We read his books and really liked him and his humor, but once we tasted his food we were definitely fans. The second event was Paumanok's 40th anniversary. It was a beautiful classy event that featured Long Island's chefs and their restaurants. We got to meet the owners of this winery as well and their families, which made us all realize why this is such an awesome place. The closeness and warmth they showed us all, made us not only fans of the winery, but now, also members. If you're in the area you should definitely check it out, but even if you're not, it's worth traveling to go to their awesome events!

Yelp
My husband and I have been coming to Paumanok for years and are wine club members. We have always had a fabulous experience, however, this weekend we went with our out of town guests and were treated poorly by the host. She was unfriendly and curt and we were embarrassed. Since we had wine to pick up, we returned the next day on our way back home and again, the same person was rude and seemed angry to have to get us our wine. We are thinking of canceling our membership because of this person. I believe she is the manager. We are so disappointed because it has always been one of our favorite wineries, but this woman sours the experience.

Yelp
A surprise stop yielded a very good surprise... Nice tasting wine in LI. Have to say, for the most part, their whites and reds are quite tasty. Nothing is very bold, yet their Chardonnay and Cab Franc + Sauvignon are highly rated for this sector of the world. The ambience is casual, bright, and pleasant. Back deck and grass area have abundant seating with rustic tables. Great 123 acre vineyard and lovely western sky giving you a great sunset ambiance. Service is very pleasant, although a bit slow... however, for a Friday, it was very busy. Plus, who wants to be rushed at a vineyard... "Not I".

Yelp
I travel around the world trying wine. I have a large group of friend and family that are into wine. Everyone I run into asks me which winery to try when they go to Long Island, I always recommend Paumanok. Going forward I will not. Per Paumanok's website they are open on Tuesday from 11 am to 5 pm. We arrived at 11 am to find out they don't open until noon and will close at 5 pm. So we decided we would come back later in the day. We arrived at 4 pm to be told they were closing. The manager had decided they were going to close early. We explained we had been there earlier. Did not matter, they were closing. The bartender was rude about it and would not allow us to speak to the manager. I can't recommend Paumonak to friends, family, and people I meet when they will have the same experience and there is so concern from the management and owners.

Yelp
Let me ved this! Get the flights and youll have a great time. The vineyard is a pretty vista!

Yelp
Had a nice time celebrating a friend's birthday! I got the white tasting flight, and it was amazing. It was a super hot day as well, so the flight was very refreshing. I fell in love with their dry riesling and chenin blanc. Both were such a dream. They are also generous with their pours, and our whole party experienced a fun little buzz together. We also got two different cheeses, the brie and purple haze. The brie was different from other bries I've had in the past. It wasn't creamy, it was instead more crumbly. The texture threw me off a bit, but it was still tasty. The purple haze was very thick and rich, so I could only eat a little at a time. We also got some baguettes and crackers. The baguette was very hard on the outer edges and quite difficult to chew. I wish we had gotten a fresher product. You're allowed to walk up to the vineyards, but not into it. The outer deck makes for some very nice pictures as well! Just a beautiful place with great wine and a friendly staff!
google avatar

Jason M.

Yelp
The wine is very good when comparing it to other North Fork wineries. They have a lovely view of the vineyards and the staff is friendly and accommodating. The 2020 dry Rosè was very nice and tasteful. WARNING: READ THIS BEFORE YOU ASK FOR A TASTE OF WINE They charge $5 for a taste of wine. It does not say anything about it on the menu and it is very misleading. Normally you ask for a sip before deciding what your are going to order. At no point in time did they make us aware that they charge for a sip. They were very defensive that no vinyard gives you a free taste and refused to take all the tastings off, but did their best to make amends. I honestly think that this place could improve on their communication.

Yelp
Beautiful winery and view, but customer service was disgusting. ** Dog friendly winery only on weekdays. Dogs are not allowed on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. I called a month in advance to make a reservation for two people and a dog and asked if they could make an exception to their no flight tasting on lawn area policy. I spoke with an employee and he ensured me that it shouldn't be a problem and they could accommodate us as long as we arrive early. He also added that since it is slow on Mondays, it shouldn't be an issue. I was instructed to email Paumanok to book my reservation and to include that an exception would be made for the flight tasting on the lawn. A second employee replied to my email and confirmed the special accommodation. Super understanding and nice. Fast forward to my reservation - Because it took me more than an hour to get a rental car (another story), I was late to my reservation. I called in to let them know that I will be 30 min late because I'm coming from Manhattan. I was on the phone with the tasting manager and she was absolutely the worst. I have explained to her that I had an awful and stressful morning getting a rental car, and currently rushing to the winery now. She was so rude and had no empathy. Her attitude was disgusting. To sum up my phone call with her, she pretty much told me it's my fault that I was late, the employee shouldn't have made the exception, and it would be unfair to others if exceptions were made. I was told my options were either leave my dog in the car for 30 min (it was a hot day) or choose another venue, period. Yes, I understand that I was late and you had rules, but it would've been nice to give me a call in advance. Her excuse was "I just came back from vacation and literally just saw the request". You mean you just saw the request because I called -_- Since I was on my way there already, I had no choice but to go. We ordered three glasses of wine and a salami / cheese board. The red was good but abnormally warm. On the other hand, the whites were cool. I told the server that the red could've been better if it was cooler. Her reason was because it was warm outside, but this doesn't make sense because the whites were cool. Now, I am questioning their wine storage and care for wine. The salami / cheese board was extremely dry. I'm not even joking -- driest cheese in my life. The bread was flaky and crusty, looked kind of moldy in the middle =/ The funniest part about this experience was that there was barely anyone at the winery. Let me be clear, this was on a Monday afternoon. At one point, I turned around and there was no one! NO ONE -_- If she was a good manager and cared for customer experience, she could've easily made an exception, like how they promised. I am giving an extra star because the winery was beautiful. Other than that, this place would've deserved 1 star.

Yelp
Looking for a stunning vineyard on Long Island? A true vintner that is passionate about sharing their creation with the world? Someone that employs people that share their passion and want to impart that sentiment on every person that comes to visit? If this is the experience you are looking for, be sure to go elsewhere. The vineyard is a nice property, and the vintner May in fact be passionate about what they make, as the bottle we had was quite good. However, that regretfully was all overshadowed by the negative elitist attitude of the employees. We were first asked if we had a reservation, to which we answered, no. The response invoked a disapproving sneer. Upon inspection of the facility both indoors and outdoors, there could not have been more than a dozen patrons in total and at least double that in open seating. After some speculation and shuffling of papers, we were ungraciously afforded the the honor of being squeezed in. Our server Amelia was quite nice, however the experience has already been soured. If you have some sort of desire to be treated in a subservient manner, I do recommend the Vin Rose, however be sure to ask for it NOT to come in an ice bucket as we were refused a cup of ice due to it not being "sanitary for drinking". So your chilled bottle may be sitting in toilet water. Enjoy and be safe.

Valerie V.

Yelp
Can't say enough positive things about this vineyard. First and foremost, the wine is lovely, my favorite on Long Island. I recently organized a work event at the tasting room and it was amazing. Everyone raved about the experience. I recently brought friends and they were equally impressed. The vineyard and venue are beautiful and their sustainable practices are deliberate and important. And lastly, Kareem, Courtney, and the rest of the staff went above and beyond to make it a great experience.

Yelp
Service is great, well kept lawns and beautiful outdoor seating area with a great view.

Yelp
Beautiful vineyard to hang out, enjoy wine, and charcuterie. Make sure to make reservations before going because they definitely do get packed. When you make the reservation online, you'll have to place a deposit which goes towards the bill at the end. I came on a Saturday afternoon and it was already started to get packed. They have tables both on their patio and out in the field. There aren't many places to walk around and you can't wander too far into the vineyard but it's still nice enough to take photos. They offer wine flights but my friends and I opted to get bottles instead. The staff was friendly and helped with choosing wines that suited our tastes. We also ordered oysters and picked salami, pate, cheese, olives, and baguettes to make our own charcuterie. The oysters were okay. The pate is more chunky rather than creamy as I had expected. Make sure to get the baguettes which were toasted and warm, a perfect pair with the meats and cheeses!

Yelp
The Quick: Delightful whites and interesting reds. Nice tasting room with amble outdoor seating. Extremely knowledgeable staff who go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. Fantastic wine club options as well. Really enjoyed my visit, would definitely be a regular if it was a bit closer to where I live.
google avatar

Yvonne S.

Yelp
Sunset Fridays at this winery was a great way to unwind & enjoy the scenic vineyards plus that sunset can't be beat. Shrimp cocktail & spicy cocktail sauce was serving just the right amount of heat, plus nothing a bag of North Fork chips couldn't tame. Wine service was quick and friendly.
google avatar

Yana B.

Yelp
Great wine. Great staff. Beautiful outdoor area with lots of seating and tables. A very nice and super clean tasting room with glass doors leading to the room with the wine barrels which is a neat thing in my opinion.
google avatar

Danielle D.

Yelp
My husband and I have been wine club members at Paumanok for years. We love the friendly staff and there delicious wines. They have a wonderful variety. I love them all differently. We enjoy going in the nice weather for the oysters and to sit on the deck. They are merged now with Palmer and there are some noticeable changes when you visit. I do prefer the wine club tastings the old way better. Wine club members can still choose a complimentary flight or four tastes. We used to sample more then 4 which always resulted in a larger purchase on our end. We're finding we're spending less money now. If you have the opportunity you should stop into this lovely vineyard. Also sign up for their barrel tasking. It's a great experience.

Mackenzie D.

Yelp
Really beautiful views on the deck and across their grounds, would recommend for a group sitting at an umbrella table for wine flights and to hang out. They are really flexible on seating and very go with the flow. Where it loses a star is that the pre-selected flights feel somewhat random- not like all similar taste/palettes, all dry, all sweet etc but picked and chosen kinda randomly so I enjoyed some much more than others, and overall they were more on the sweet side, and that they stop taking orders/serving around 430 and close at 5pm. We were hoping to get another glass at 4:30 and had difficulty getting service attention and then a check was brought over automatically at 4:45pm. I would recommend to start here on the earlier side and then make moves down the road to some of the other wineries that are opened later and have more food options.
google avatar

Jason B.

Yelp
Where to begin... it was such an amazing experience. From the second we walked through the door we were greeted with open arms like we had been coming there for years. Allie was our server and she was so super sweet. We met the owner Katie and made us feel so welcomed. We had a couple of wine flights and the wine as phenomenal. Ones that I thought I wouldn't enjoy I did. We paid our tab and left to go check out another vineyard. Needless to say we came back to Katie. She gave us a little impromptu tour and told all about some of the history and wines. It's a beautiful place, but it was the people we met that set this place apart from the others. Do yourself a favor and gooooooooo!!
google avatar

Jennifer K.

Yelp
I'd return to Paumanok if I was in the area, but I probably wouldn't make a special trip for them. They are a smaller, quieter vineyard which is nice if you want to stay away from ones that have loud bachelorette/birthday parties. They have indoor and outdoor seating. What I disliked about Paumanok is you can choose from 2 preselected wine tastings, each is their selection of 4 wines, and each has both red and white wines. Alternatively for the same price you can select 3 wines. I don't like paying the same amount of money for one fewer glasses but since my fiancé doesn't like red wine that's what I did. We did really enjoy the white wines and even bought two bottles, but the more I think about it the more annoyed I get about their tasting options.
google avatar

Maria V.

Yelp
This is a smaller, more low key vineyard. You buy your drink inside. No outside patio service when I was there. No music They sold some oysters on the patio they day I was there also Recommend by a bartender to try the Chenin Blanc- and we did. It was lemony and refreshing for the hot day
google avatar

Sara G.

Yelp
We were fortunate to come on a Monday when we enjoyed wide open spaces. Just after Labor Day the fields were still lush and beautiful. A seat on the deck was the perfect place for a lovely tasting. Each vineyard is different, and I liked that this tasting room overlooks the vines themselves. I quite enjoyed all of the wines in my flight which of course will be up to your own preferences. I removed one star because the person who served us did not know anything about the wine. I find on the North Fork they are usually very informed about the product, and at many of the vineyards you will find yourself speaking to the family who runs the operation. Our sever read a brief description off of a card and that was all she knew. Ex: when asked what grapes were in the blanc de blanc, she did not know. Make sure you check the website for COVID-specific details. For our trip, tastings were offered on weekends only and you are required to have your temperature checked at the door.

Yelp
Loved it! We had a cheese and wine pairing. Beautiful vineyards. Attentive staff. Lovely.

Yelp
Beautiful settings in a fantastic setting. Charcuterie with a glass of wine my perfect summer respite! Service very good

Yelp
5 starts for the scenery, 3.5 stars because the wine we ended up getting fell short for me. Next time I visit, I'll be sure to update my review accordingly. Went here with a couple out of town friends to show them the North Fork and decided to stop in since I'd never been here before. We split a bottle of their rose, which maybe wasn't the best option, but we were able to snag a table outside overlooking the beautiful vineyard. The deck was big enough where you didn't feel like you were on top of the people next to you which was a plus. We had our wine and ventured out into the vines for some photo ops before leaving. Looking forward to coming back here and trying out some other stuff, and mostly looking forward to those views again!

Yelp
We decided that a Monday would be a good day to visit a select few vineyards on the North for of Long Island. Paumanok Vineyards is one of the top vineyards in the North Fork. Being an educated wine collector, I am selective on the vineyards that I am willing to visit on Long Island and Paumanok is one of my three favorite's vineyards on Long Island. One of my favorites is Paumanok Chenin Blanc. I find it dry with fruity flavor that is not over powering and finishes smooth. The wine room is not very large but they have very comfortable outdoor tables to enjoy their wine and view.

Yelp
Celebrate spring, and getting outdoors at this picture perfect setting. Share a bottle of vino, or taste several wines that make up a flight. Whatever you choose, you won't be disappointed!

They were very rude and snobby. Would never recommend or go back. To many rules and the service was rude as well. In one word rigid.

Yelp
Quaint vineyard with plenty of seating. The wine is delicious! I love dry wines, so I would highly recommend the 2017 dry Riesling! I have been to this vineyard many times as it is relaxing and has great open spaces and wine options. The only negative comment I have does not reflect the vineyard itself. Today I went in with my husband around 4pm. I usually never need a reservation to come to this vineyard. Today was not typically busy and there was plenty of open seating available. Megan was working the register and I asked her if my husband and I could sit at a table and she said no. I mentioned that there were plenty of tables and she said that the turn around was busy and they would be filled. I asked if we could sit on the lawn chairs because there were plenty available and she said that was fine. If I didn't ask, I could imagine that we would just end up leaving because she didn't make it obvious that we could sit there. My husband and I ended up sitting on the lawn chairs and stayed for only an hour. By the time we left, there were even more open tables than when we walked in. It would have been nice to sit at a table as we would have stayed longer and purchased more items.

Yelp
We went here on a perfect day. We sat outside; it was beautiful. I loved the Chardonnay. We also ordered the oysters. They were absolutely delicious, fresh and tender. I can't wait to go back here again.

Yelp
First thing I noticed was on the website they had many rules. The rules were basically once you are seated that you cannot get up and walk around the backyard and can only get up to use the restroom or leaving. I understand covid is still a concern but this is outdoors and who wants to sit the whole time at a vineyard? Secondly once we arrive the manager seemed very cold and unwelcoming. We had to pay $10 per person to sit down which was fine but they even made me pay $10 for my 3 year old niece to sit (a bit ridiculous). The flight I ordered was ok, nothing to rave about and the rosè was extremely sweet and did not taste like wine at all. I would give the 1 star but the view was nice.

Yelp
My girls and I just visited Paumanok Vineyard this past Memorial Day Weekend! We are so happy we did! First, thanks to the manager Katie for talking us into sitting outside - the picturesque view, the wine options, and a good charcuterie board made for the perfect drinking ambiance. Try their Brie!! We sat outside on the deck for our 2 hour reservation while we sipped our wine flights; we don't believe in going to a winery without doing a wine flight lol. We all fell in love with the 2021 Chenin Blanc, and then finished a bottle on the lawn before it started POURING down raining! Katie was kind enough to let us sit at a large table inside as we waited for our Uber AND finished another bottle . She did mention that a large party got really rude with her when they showed up with no reservation and proceeded to seat themselves (jerks). The vineyard is so laid back and peaceful, so I can't imagine any reason for someone to not have a good time there. I'll definitely be back with a good book! Until then, happy sipping!

Yelp
We got the Paumanok Vineyard flight which has a mix of rose, merlot, and 2 whites. I would say that the Blanc dr Blancs was the best out of all of them. It has a small carbonation feeling and crisp white wine taste! It was really refreshing in this hot 90 degree weather. The chenin blanc was solid, but it was really light comparatively to to blanc to blanc. They make it seem as if it is a good taste or stands out. Honestly... I felt it was so light it taste like water in a sense. The dry rose was not good at all... but it is expected of a rose if you aren't a fan of it to begin with. I thought the 2014 grand vintage merlot was ok... too much residuals and sediments Inside the wine... but expected of 2014 merlots because they tend to have that. Overall the flight wasn't truly worth it and I rather get the white wine because they seem to stand out the best.

Yelp
Made reservations for a party of 6 here- $28 each for reservations and $26 goes to the bill. When we drove in, we had someone guide us on where to park. We were greeted by a hostess before entering the building and got our temperatures checked (!!!!!). They were able to seat us fairly quickly and had QR Codes to scan for their menus. I wanted to try this place because they have oysters! Their oysters (12 for $28) were really good and we were told it was from a very local bay not too far from them. (might just stop by the bay next time to find myself some oysters haha) Our waitress was able to explain all the wines, meats and cheese selection they had. We had the charcuterie board and added soppressata on the side. I wish they were a bit more organized, but overall nice place and good foods and wine. Got 4 bottles, meats and cheese, 2 dozen oysters and totaled about $400 for 6 of us.

Yelp
I love that they have oysters on the weekends! The perfect pair with their white wine flights. So good that we got two dozen! The staff is super attentive and caring, even though we were seated on the grass area. We were even brought an umbrella being that we were initially seated in the sun.
