Peregrine - Review - North Hills - Raleigh - The Infatuation

"Peregrine intentionally refuses definition, and its lawlessness is a gift. The menu careens from dishes like bengali wedding chicken to a nutty vegan mushroom suya to an aged ribeye served with gochujang butter and banchan-style pickled vegetables. Dishes like the raw tuna and trout roe tiradito and the saffron-tinged “Celebration of Eid” dessert soar as high as the falcon the restaurant is named for. Peregrine is perfect for a double date with fellow curious eaters—come prepared to try something new and trust your server’s recommendations. photo credit: Forrest Mason photo credit: Forrest Mason photo credit: Forrest Mason Pause Unmute" - Eric Ginsburg

Peregrine Brings the Flavors of Bangladesh to Raleigh | Eater Carolinas

"Opened April 9 as a splashy new Raleigh restaurant from chef Saif Rahman (formerly of Vidrio) and artist Patrick Shanahan, this project channels Rahman’s journey from Bangladesh to North Carolina and emphasizes the warm hospitality of his grandmothers. The dining room pairs an “ancient-meets-modern” aesthetic—grand arches, Roman clay walls, and Moroccan lime plaster—with sleek interiors that serve as a backdrop for cuisine blending South Asian heritage with American Southern ingredients. The standout is a Bengali wedding chicken: a whole, Buddhist-style bird from a family farm served (feet included) to share, plated with the sauce beneath and accompanied by a Carolina Gold rice pulao from Tidewater Grain tossed with ghee, crispy onions, sultana raisins, and rose water so guests can mix it themselves. The fragrant sauce features raw and fried onions, cashew purée, rose water, lime leaves, local curry leaves, and in-house–ground garam masala (using Indian cinnamon), and the wedding chicken was the most-ordered dish in the opening week. Other notable menu items include sorghum-glazed duck breast with foie gras, Old Dhaka lamb kebabs, and a dry-aged ribeye with gochujang butter. The restaurant is open Tuesday–Thursday 5:00–10:00 p.m. and Friday–Saturday 5:00–11:00 p.m." - Erin Perkins

My review; absolutely delicious! Also the Chef is amazing. If you ever get the chance to hear his story, his travels, his experience, and where he is from.....just take it all in. What is Contemporary American food? I knew he was a New Yorker immediately when he began to explain his story. How passionate, how driven, and this Chef is not stopping anytime soon. May I add the atmospheric experience you receive their, from the host, bartenders, servers, floor management, open kitchen (sit at bar is a must) overall impeccable. Shout out to the Pastry Chef, because the dessert are amazing. The desserts I've tried were so amazing I forgot to snap a photo 📸. I truly appreciate a Pastry Chef that understands balance, and textures. With ever dessert, he thought of it all....even the aroma...it's light, touches of sweetness and never heavy. Just buy it all ready, it's a delight.

Ciera with Offline - I love when a restaurant completely blows my expectations and Peregrine did just that. Every staff member was exceptionally hospitable, but in a way that felt genuine and positive, not forced or scripted. You could tell the team truly enjoys what they do and that it’s a healthy, supportive environment. I was incredibly impressed by the recommended dishes the Bengali Wedding Chicken and the Rainbow Trout. For a restaurant described as “American-style,” the creative combinations of flavors, herbs, and spices reveal a deep cultural understanding and a thoughtfully curated culinary experience by the chef. The Bengali Wedding Chicken was outstanding. I appreciated that they kept the feet attached, honoring the full process and tradition behind the dish. Having grown up in the country, I saw that as a mark of authenticity and respect. The chicken itself was perfectly juicy, the sauce rich and flavorful, and the presentation stunning. The Rainbow Trout was equally remarkable—especially with the micro heirloom tomatoes on top. Every bite revealed new layers of flavor and texture. My only small piece of constructive feedback would be that a small piece of bone seemed to remain near the floral garnish, possibly from the tailbone. It didn’t take away from the experience, but worth noting for future attention to detail. For side dishes, I highly recommend the Pilaou, a fragrant rice dish with dried fruit, mint, and herbs that give it a transformative, almost transportive flavor. It’s far beyond what you’d expect from a typical restaurant side. I also tried the Tallow Carrots with Yogurt Dip and Pumpkin Seeds, and it was something I’d never think to combine myself, but it worked beautifully. The yogurt dip was so good that I even tried it with the wedding chicken—it was an amazing match! The bar and cocktail area were equally impressive. The drinks were well-balanced, and I love that you can customize your own Old Fashioned. I didn’t try that option this time, but I absolutely plan to on my next visit. Overall, Peregrine earns a 12 out of 10 from me. The food, atmosphere, and service are all top-tier. This restaurant isn’t just part of the new growth in the exchange area…it’s defining it. Peregrine brings an elevated yet soulful culinary energy that will put this area on the map. I can’t wait to come back, try more dishes, and continue enjoying this farm-to-table experience that captures the warmth of the countryside right in the heart of the city. Fabulous job, Peregrine! I can’t wait to see what you do next.

My wife and I really enjoyed Peregrine. The outside environment and entrance are beautiful while the interior decor is elegant and tasteful. We enjoyed all of the small plates we shared while independently indulging in our own large plates. We did share a dessert and found that to be delightful as well. The restaurant was full of happy patrons. The dining area is fairly open so the noise can be moderate. However, we didn't find it to be an issue for carrying on a conversation with another couple who joined us for dinner. I recommend trying out Peregrine for you next fine dining experience.

Peregrine delivered a perfect dining experience from start to finish. We hosted a corporate event in their private dining room, and it was an absolute joy to experience the new creations from Chef Rahman. Every dish impressed and left our guests thoroughly pleased. The beef tartare was exceptionally fresh and flavorful, and the Piyaji—crafted from lentils was an unexpected delight, bursting with unique taste. The charred grapefruit dish surprised everyone with its masterful balance of flavors, while the sheesh kabob was so juicy and delicious it easily deserves to be a main course. For the mains, the carne asada, chicken, and duck were each perfectly executed, delivering depth and richness in every bite. And to cap the evening, the bitter chocolate dessert was the unanimous favorite—rich, decadent, and unforgettable. Also worth mentioning is the Pulao side of rice which was another delicious and masterfully crafted dish that we had to order more of because of how good it was. Peregrine is a true culinary gem, and I can’t recommend it enough. I’m already looking forward to my next visit!

Chloe with Offline - We came here thanks to the app, Offline. Cory was great! So thorough and caring, but without any pressure. The food was delicious - we especially loved the rice dish. Best rice I’ve ever had. And the mushroom curry dish paired perfectly with it. The rum version of gin and tonic was yum. The decor was impeccable and very pleasant with nice touches that made the meal feel special. We want to come back at night since Cory says the ambiance is worthwhile.

The restaurant is beautiful, love the decor. Coming in the host was not friendly and we simply asked if we could be seated outside. She didn’t acknowledge the request and proceeded with seating us inside although there were 3 empty tables outside. We asked again as she was seating us. This simple request became an issue as she tells us she has to ask the manager. She then walks past us later we stop her to follow up to see if she asked her manager which she says she did. The waiter comes to our table we tell him the issue, he then goes to get the manager. About 5 mins later, the manager finally comes to tell us she couldn’t seat us outside because she was short staffed (please note this was a pre planned offline event therefore you would think they would staff accordingly) and they wanted to keep the wait staff radius close. This was a turn off that this simple request for a party of 2 couldn’t be accommodated and the host couldn’t just say that when we asked instead of giving us a run around. The drinks were good, but food was not impressive. I got the duck breast dish. Presentation was nice, but food was not flavorful or to my liking. Very unique dishes and overly priced. I am a foodie and dine out a lot, this wouldn’t be a restaurant I recommend or that I would come back to.

Google
We had a truly phenomenal experience dining at Peregrine, our waiter Cody was absolutely wonderful- friendly, attentive, and provided great suggestions for our meal. Our table tried a variety of the menu items- I should have taken more photos but I was fully immersed in the delicious food and the beautiful artistic atmosphere. There were so many beautiful details in the restaurant. In addition to Cody the other members of the staff were equally as exceptional and we even met the owner/Chef who was friendly and very down to earth considering the elevated style of dining. Truly a wonderful experience and I highly recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
If you ever want to feel fancy and taste some exotics global cuisine, this is the place for you! Immaculate service and an elegant decor, this place pleases the eyes and satisfies the appetite. The restaurant is away from the hustle of downtown or a busy street. The parking is convenient and the location is a beautiful office building, ground floor. We were escorted inside to our big round table in the corner from where we could enjoy the view inside and out. We ordered cocktails, and the dirty chai martini won our hearts, it had this mix flavor of chai, coffee and grey goose, must try. In the "arrivals" we ordered , chicken crackling, bonfire potato, sheesh kabab and piyazi. All these were creatively thought out unique dishes which reminded me of the flavors from India. In the "journeys" , they have limited options and we ordered most of them, Ode to Amina, the matcher jhol and the Bengali wedding chicken are an inspiration from an Indian state of Bengal, which is popular for its non vegetarian food. The fish was perfectly cooked, soft and tasted great with their pulav, chicken was tender and flavorful, loved the rose and almond based gravy. Suya mushroom did not impress so much, it was a little chewey for us. In the "departures", we ordered bitter chocolate and blueberry fromage, beautifully presented and tasted amazing. Loved the minty, gooey, bitter sweet chocolate dessert. Heavy on pockets but light on hearts, this place is a great choice when you want to pamper yourself with a wholesome and elegant experience.

Yelp
Great new spot tucked into a new office building. Decor is stunning. Well spaced tables in a Scandinavian style. Inventive art on the walls, very cool light fixtures. Background music at the right volume. Even though high ceilings and exposed ductwork, it was quiet enough for converation without shouting. Service was excellent. Thanks To Shemmy for orchestrating the meal and explaining the menu choices. BBQ King Oyster mushrooms were excellent. Cut like an apple, broiled just right and served over an outstanding sauce. A great start. Next up was gem lettuce. Crisp lettuce served dressed with pistachio cream, fancy grated pecorino and topped with pickled shallots. The cream was the perfect complement to the tart lettuce, cheese and shallots. This was arguably the best dish. Next was duck breast. This one was disappointing. I was envisioning Asian-style crispy skin with lean flesh. In this prep, the sorghum-glaze wasn't crunchy. The duck was more fat than flesh. The foie gras is an interesting touch and the flavor is complementary to the duck. Also tried Gold Rice Khichdi. These are seared scallops served over risotto-style gold rice. The rice is very rich and almost too creamy. Deliciously spiced. Scallops perfect - pan seared, juicy and moist with a little crunch in each bite. Each scallop topped with a fried pork rind (aka chicharrones). Lastly for dessert we tried chocolate date fudge. This features carmelized milk gelato, marcona almond and dried kumquat. The presentation is breathtaking - you almost hate to take a bite! The combo of flavors is excellent. Tart kumquat, smooth, creamy gelato and rich chocolate. Overall, a cool new place. A number of interesting-looking things to try on the menu. Will be back!

Yelp
Located in an office building on the bottom floor is a wonderful restaurant serving cuisine from around the world. As you approach the restaurant the hostess opened the door for us and seated us at our table. Our waiter Cody was great. He was detailed and attentive to our needs and made helpful suggestions on how to approach the menu. We started with the mushroom and kebab. The mushroom was Cody's suggestion and it did not disappoint. Spicy and savory. The kebab had a delicious accompaniment of fruit and a crème. Main dish was a large 22 ounce steak we split with delicious potatoes and pickled vegetables. The cocktails were on point and we hope to return and enjoy this restaurant again.

Yelp
The ambience is what makes this place. It's the perfect place to have a nice drink. The food was good, but nothing mind blowing. Service was okay. Forgot a drink order and had to be reminded. The desserts stood out and I'll be returning for that! Forgot to take pics of those as they disappeared too quickly!

Yelp
Peregrine in Raleigh is absolutely stunning--modern, elegant, and thoughtfully designed. The atmosphere alone makes you feel like you're in for a special experience. Some of my favorite dishes here are the kebab, Ode to Amina, Carolina gold rice, and the Bengali wedding chicken. The service was amazing. Each plate feels like a story on its own. You can truly taste the passion and heart the executive chef has poured into every dish. I love how he weaves his family memories and cultural heritage into the menu--it makes dining here feel personal and meaningful. If you're looking for a restaurant that's as beautiful as it is delicious, Peregrine is a must-visit.

Yelp
The service and food were wonderful. My husband and I have concluded this is the best meal and service we have had in years. We frequent the best restaurants in Richmond,VA and occasionally throughout the south east. He surprised me with an overnight to Raleigh and this restaurant as the menu looked intriguing. We had the tuna, steak, and carrot appetizers they were delicious as were our mixed drinks. For dinner he had a steak in mole sauce and I had the wedding chicken. Both were phenomenal. For dessert I was surprised with little ice cream cakes and we ordered a dark chocolate dessert as well with espresso. The waiter brought me a card at the end of our meal signed by the staff (I regret accidentally leaving it on the table when we left) it was a nice touch that really shows how on point the service is at this restaurant. If you are in Raleigh this is the restaurant you must try!

Yelp
I don't understand the low reviews. This restaurant was SPECTACULAR! I eat out over 500 meals a year with my job and this place was brilliant. It was very different from my expectations as on social media people were calling it a Bengali restaurant - and it's not. So maybe people just weren't open minded about it so they couldn't appreciate it for what it was? It's definitely global fusion...and it's just that the chef is Bengali and pulls some flavor profiles/inspiration from that cuisine. The name should've given that away though. It's called Peregrine, which is called a wandering falcon, because it travels all over the world, +15k miles during migration. Regardless though, the presentation is beautiful. It's refined, yet approachable. The chef's use of flavors make the food light, yet still rich, and layered. Each bite is a journey. The ambiance is bright and airy, and it gets a little moodier as it gets dark. It very much feels like something from South Africa. The cocktails were also wonderful, as was service...every detail was essentially perfect - which is SO impressive given how recently it opened! We tried a new tuna dish that the chef is working on for the menu refresh, which was tuna with cucumber, mint, and a charred scallion sauce that was so bright and refreshing, yet savory. The we had the gem lettuce with a pistachio cream, that the chef told us to eat with our hands like a taco. Topped with cheese and pickled onions, it was creamy, yet nutty, yet bright, with the perfect crunch! I would happily eat this every day. The lamb Shish kebab was juicy and was perfect with the yogurt sauce it was served with. The beef tartare was delicious, made with 30 day dry aged beef, crispy leeks, black lime. Served with a nigella seed lavash. Not creamy like a traditional tartare, but very delicious interpretation. We tried a new rice dish, being made with Carolina gold rice that was to die for! The whole fish was so tender, and loaded with flavor. The spring veggies were tender crisp, with a multitude of flavors - so much dimension to it. And then the desserts were wonderful. I loved them because they weren't overly sweet. Yes there was sweetness, but not in the sense of an American cookie or created cake. It took much more of an Asian approach to dessert with natural, balanced sweetness. HIGHLY recommend

Yelp
A True Gem--Already Shining Bright I visited Peregrine for the first time on my birthday. What surprised me most? The fact that they've only been open for 16 days. You would never guess it based on the level of service, attention to detail, and overall excellence they're already delivering. The concept is farm-to-table, and you can absolutely taste the difference. Every ingredient was incredibly fresh and thoughtfully sourced, with an unwavering commitment to quality. The kitchen is doing a phenomenal job cause the flavors are perfectly balanced, the sauces are absolutely divine, and the dishes are creative without being overdone. There's real inspiration behind the menu, and it shows in every bite. What truly sets Peregrine apart, though, is the service. It's rare to feel this seen and cared for at a restaurant, especially one that's so new. The team made sure my birthday dinner felt personal and memorable. It reminded me of the kind of high-caliber experience we've had in cities like Miami--Peregrine is absolutely playing in that league. All in all, this was a fantastic dining experience from start to finish. I'll definitely be back. Hats off to the team for creating something so refined, so warm, and so special this early on.

Yelp
By far the best dinner we've had in Raleigh in a while. Chef Rahman pours his heart and soul into every dish, and he has a well trained team in the front and back of the house to deliver the full experience. Even though this is in the bottom of an office building, it's been tastefully decorated, and we really enjoyed sitting at the bar with a great view of the kitchen. We can't wait to see what creative dishes they come up with next - definitely a go-to date night spot!

Yelp
Okay this place is inside of the back of an office building so inconspicuous but wow it's beautiful inside. The service was great, Cory helped us navigate the menu and suggested things that he likes which we ended up loving the mushrooms he suggested, very hearty. Most of the items on the menu were gluten free and dairy free which was nice and what I am always looking for! Quite pricey! But def a fine dining experience

Susheel N.

Yelp
The meticulously handpicked decor, natural light and the ambiance is as good as it gets. The operating partner, Patrick Shanahan, who is also a professional set designer has created a genuine masterpiece which will leave you in absolute awe. The menu from chef Saif Rehaman is a culmination of ideas, creativity and passion, it's not your usual menu items slapped together. The food is truly an authentic chef creation with an amazing gastronomical experience. The restaurant is brand new with a few minor bumps, as expected. However the creativity to perfection is around the corner. Ask the chef for recommendations when u try this amazing space.

Yelp
This is the swankiest restaurant in the Triangle! The decor is inviting and very well done. The service was very attentive and impeccable. The food was absolutely amazing and cooked and seasoned to perfection! The serving sizes are big enough to share which is exactly what we did. We had a table of six and we all ordered enough dishes to share with each other. The chef came out and spoke with our table and explained how all his food is locally sourced as possible. I love that a high end restaurant such as this is getting their food from local farmers. I highly recommend this place and plan on returning!

Nina E.

Yelp
This is easily one of the best restaurants we've visited in the Triangle/Raleigh area. From the moment you're seated, you're taken on a thoughtfully curated culinary journey, guided by a warm and gracious staff. This isn't your typical restaurant focused on a single cuisine. Instead, it's a beautifully executed fusion of diverse flavors, cultures, and traditions--all brought together in perfect harmony. We tried the kabob, rice, and wedding chicken, and both my husband and I agreed: this was the best meal we've had in a very long time. To those who criticize it for not being a "true Bengali" restaurant--they're missing the essence, the creativity, and the larger story this place is telling. Thank you to Chef Saif and his wonderful team for an unforgettable dining experience.

Yelp
Top notch date spot!!! Everything is on point, no complaints. Food is delectable and service is beyond amazing. If you are looking for an experience this is the place to come. Owner and head chef come to greet us! Best of luck

Yelp
From the moment you walk in, you're transported by the décor, the service, and the ambiance. That first step into the restaurant sets the tone for the rest of the evening. The meticulous attention to detail makes everything about this place stand out. From the amazing Bengali-inspired dishes like the chicken and pulao to the more American options like the ribeye, everything was exceptional. The cocktails were delicious and expertly crafted. Give it a try yourself and let your palate be the judge.

Yelp
Here's a few tips that the restaurant can make good use of, 1. If you have a bone-in whole fish on the menu, the least you can do is put a fish knife on the table for the guest who ordered it. 2. If your Halibut has a "Buffalo Butter" and "Cashew Korma" base, don't expect your guests to eat that with a fork but rather have a spoon available proactively before they have to ask for it! 3. Duck breast, start on a cold pan skin side down. High heat till the fat starts to render and then add herbs of your choice, keep basting constantly, wait till fat melts and sizzling and then flip ( you got a crispy skin), cook for a minute basting constantly and then remove from heat. Rest for 3 min and serve. Why am I teaching you how to cook duck? That's cause not even a duck maniac like me could swallow the rubbery undercooked duck that was literally a poke away from a loud QUACK! 4. Foie gras, well if you don't know how to sear a foie gras and get perfect caramelization... leave it off of your menu. 5. Being a Maître D' is not about wearing a fancy suit and walking around with a fake French attitude. it's about engaging your guests, specially the ones that chose your establishment to celebrate their special day. These are just a few of a truck load of "NO NO"s that this restaurant can actually fix. But, the fact that this restaurant is using "Bangladeshi" as it's tag line for advertising is outrageous since none of their dishes showcase the spices or techniques of the cuisine. A sad example of a "Fine Dining Identity Crisis"!!!

Yelp
Had friends night out at Peregrine.....Amazing location, staff, decor and food! My favorite was the beef tartar, scallops and La Mirella drink. Definitely recommended!!

Yelp
My wife and I went yesterday to eat at Peregrine. We went with expectations of an outstanding experience , after reading and viewing YouTube videos. We were disappointed. First of all I must state that the setting is fabulous and we were greeted very warmly by the hostess. Our waiter Derek was excellent and very attentive. Where we we felt let down was the food. The number of entrees are quite limited. We had read that the Chef Sayeed had created a menu inspired by Bengali cuisine. Bengali cuisine is extraordinary in its scope and tastes. We felt that what we had were good but did not seem at all linked to the rich spices and colorful Bengali cuisine. Furthermore we felt there should have been at least one more vegetarian and one additional seafood entree. Another thing we noticed that the part owner and the assistant manager both seemed to hang around the bar and not actively interact with most of the diners. When I go to an expensive specialty restaurant At the least I expect that the manager / owner greet and talk to the guests. That's our experience at other good restaurants in Raleigh. Too bad. Not sure we coming back anytime soon.
google avatar

Marc M.

Yelp
Top notch service and exquisite food. We plan to be back. The entree portions are big enough to share so that's what we did. Steak, Halibut and Half a chicken were amazing. As an appetizer we loved the steak tartare, mushrooms and lamb kebab. We ordered a second round of the kabab. I highly recommend Peregrine not just for the food but also the ambiance. Oh and I can't forget the cocktails. The Mai Tai-ger was perfect.

Yelp
After having dined at a number of other "hyped" restaurants that didn't quite live up to the online buzz, we were pleasantly surprised with Peregrine. To start you are offered a savory tea that was a tasty broth. This is just the start of impeccable service, our waitress Nia was warm, attentive, and knowledgeable. The drink menu was diverse and also included non alcoholic options. Everything we ordered (king oyster mushroom, wedding chicken, steak, potatoes, and roasted cabbage) was cooked to perfection. Crispy skins, flavorful accoutrements, and meats cooked to temp. I think the only thing hurting this restaurant is that online influencers are describing it as Bangladeshi. On their website the concept is described as the chefs personal collection of flavors as he is from Bangladesh and moved to the US. we felt the menu reflected this well, even in the way the courses were named. If you look at the menu and think "this sounds delicious!" then definitely trust your gut. We left happy, satisfied, and excited for a new fine dining experience in Raleigh!

Raj D.

Yelp
Ambience, Elegance, Service, Location - Amazing !! Superb !! Why 1 Star - The restaurant markets itself all over Raleigh as a Bangladeshi restaurant. Nearly our entire party / group lived all their lives in Bangladesh - and there was nothing Bangladeshi about the food, not even fusion. They tried to make it so fancy it turned into Asian-ish fine dining. Very petty, lowly, deceptive and disgusting marketing gimmick that brings shame to a great nation. I'd much rather that the restaurant advertise it as an amazing fine dining experience - which it is ... but authentic Bangladeshi it is absolutely not. This is wrong.

Zach L.

Yelp
Ugh. I hate doing this. I like to lift not put down, but I'm hoping this helps Peregrine improve. Here's how it went. 7:00 reservation. We show on time. Our table isn't ready. Hostess is kinda clueless, "your table isn't ready, it should be cleared shortly." We get seated at 7:38. Ooof. Before getting seated the manager is apologetic and asks if we want any apps. I'm one of those intermittent fasting weirdos so I say we want all but one. She graciously says they'll comp one and make sure they come out quickly. That's cool, life happens. We sit down, and they take our drink orders. All six come out at once within 3 mins. Maybe my fault since, well, I ordered six. Kinda would have wanted them staged though with some progression. But hey, maybe that's on me. One of them is spilled on the table as they're putting them down. "We'll bring you another one" (one of the three little gems). That doesn't happen. It also sits on the table all evening as kind of a weird obstacle. Never cleaned. Cocktails come when we're halfway through the apps. Manager checks in asks if everything is OK. I feel bad for her, think she realizes, things are kind of a mess. We then have to flag down the waiter when we are done to order entrees. Again, maybe my fault since I admittedly order weird, like food for 4-5 for a two top. The entrees, duck and the rice, take 40 mins. Probably because they weren't ordered at the start of the meal since again, I order weird. Duck is cooked well, kind of a bummer. For $47, I kind of expect everything to be perfect. 10 mins after we finish I flag down the waiter for the check. The food itself was OK, but for the price I'm expecting something on par with Stanbury, Brodeto, etc, and this felt... tamed? Like there were good flavors, but they dialed them back, maybe for approachability? I can't say I'll be back unless things change pretty substantially. Really, really, wanted to like this. Read about it on Eater and was stoked, but it didn't meet expectations.

I, too, do not understand the negative reviews. Completely blown away by this place. The ambiance is the perfect balance of elegance and organic tranquility. The food is absolutely delicious and the presentation was beautiful. Our server, Cody, was incredible. He is so personable and didn't miss a single beat with all my specific requests/food allergies. We will be back asap. So excited to have Peregrine here in Raleigh!

Yelp
A new gem in Raleigh! I have visited a few times and have been able to try most things on the menu and I am more impressed each time I go. The staff is amazing and attentive and the decor and atmosphere make the experience 10/10. Highly recommend.

Yelp
The first time we walked up towards the restaurant we immediately new this was going to be an exceptional experience as 2 fireballs led from the sidewalk to the majestic wooden front door. As we stepped inside, our first thoughts were, "We are not in Raleigh anymore" as the interior was like no other restaurant in town. It is a combination of zen, comfort, class and calm. Our server was top-notch, caring and extremely knowledgable about the menu. The menu comes with a glossary that describes many of the cooking techniques which I found to be very helpful! The meal started with a complimentary "tea" or broth that was warm and filled with aromatic flavors. The Bengali Wedding Chicken was so moist and favorable with tantalizing spices. Other group favorites( as we have eaten there several times) are the Halibut, Duck Breast, Old Dhaka Sheesh Kabob ( I think I could eat this dish everyday!) and the Roasted Beets. What a joy it is to step into the unordinary and be spoiled with outstanding service and and remarkable culinary delights prepared by Chef Rahman in such a tranquil yet urban setting.

Yelp
As someone who knows Bangladeshi cuisine, this is literally a joke. Peyaju? No "Peyaj" (onion) at all. Macher jhol (Ode to Amina)? Tasted nothing like a macher jhol. We of course didnt expect everything to be true to the authentic cuisine but there wasnt even a touch of it. Sad and disheartened, on top of that we reserved our spot for a baby's birthday, there wasnt even a high chair for the baby? How fine dine of the establishment not even serving a little something for the kid. Lets not go into that, but asking for a spoon again and again when the dish should originally come with it because its of a lentil base? (The halibut dish) Also lamb infused lentils/beans? There wasn't any flavor to it even. Cant begin to comprehend how disheartened we were. Polao? Not even Pulao rice was used for it. Funny and Sad. We would not be half as sad if there wasn't a "Bangladeshi" tag line to it. I hope people knows what they are paying for!
