The 38 Best Restaurants in Stockholm, Sweden | Eater

"French chef Louis Cespedes worked in restaurants in Auvergne and Bordeaux before finding his way to Stockholm. While working at Frantzén, he met Swedish sommelier Jonatan Nyström, and in 2022, they launched Persona, named after the Ingmar Bergman film, in the upscale Östermalm district. At the intimate, 25-seat establishment, you can tailor your own menu with help from a server or go for a multi-course set menu. In either case, French culinary traditions meet Swedish produce and culture in items like a foie gras macaron with cloudberry jam, pommes dauphine with matjes herring, and Västerbotten cheese chawanmushi with crayfish and trout roe, which comes with a drinking song performed by the server." - Per Styregård

Persona

"Named after the 1966 Ingmar Bergman film, this stylish restaurant creates a striking contrast between its old townhouse exterior and elegant interior design. Before dinner you are invited down to the cellar to pick your wine; the chefs then adjust a tasting menu or tailor-made à la carte depending on your choice. Expect bold flavours and quality ingredients, supported by relaxed service and an immersive feel." - Michelin Inspector

It’s a fantastic fine dining experience. Incredibly professional staff who are very nice to talk to. The only piece of feedback I have on the food is that one might find a lack of a common thread/theme between dishes. 100% will return - it was delicious and a fun experience. Plan for 5 hours from start to finish.

It’s probably one of best restaurants I’ve been to in a while! The food: Amazing and delicious. The dishes just kept coming (I won’t spoil it) and full of surprises. Food was extremely memorable and carefully curated to play on some dishes you may already know. Highly recommend to sit behind the kitchen counter and watch the chefs create. The service was also excellent. Will definitely revisit when I’m in town!

Amazing welcome, amazing food, amazing drinks, amazing service, amazing dining room, amazing cutlery. You get the idea. In my opinion, superb value for money and probably a hidden gem for now before it becomes more popular once they get their first ⭐️

Phenomenal food and wine. One of our best restaurant visits in a very long time. And we’ve been to all the best restaurants in the region. The experience of a two star guide Michelin - so the awards will keep on coming. This is fine dining and mainly a tasting menu. The wine pairing is better and more ambitious than most top restaurants we’ve seen, but it also offers nice flexibility in price and complexity. If you’re looking for real fine dining and a longer restaurant visit I can’t recommend this place enough!

I recently dined at Oddnorm, a popup restaurant featuring the chefs from Persona, and I must say it was a massive letdown. While the atmosphere was undeniably pleasant, the food and service were nowhere near what you’d expect for the steep price tag of ~330 euros per person. The five-course menu was underwhelming and lacked cohesion. One course included an electric daisy that was simply dropped onto the plate without any context or creativity—it felt more like an afterthought than a deliberate culinary choice. For a concept by Persona chefs, known for their attention to detail, this felt lazy and uninspired. Service was just as disappointing. Wine wasn’t poured for everyone at the table, a glaring oversight that’s unacceptable at this level of dining. To top it off, when dessert was served, they couldn’t even provide coffee—something that should be a basic offering at any fine dining establishment. Oddnorm might have started with an intriguing concept, but the execution fell flat. At ~330 euros per person, I expected a memorable experience; instead, I left feeling like I’d paid for a poorly organized experiment.

One of the best restaurants I’ve been in a while. Friendly and attentive service, top notch cuisine and a wonderful wine list. Thanks again for a brilliant dinner!

This was very interesting. The guys that own this restaurant are very ambitious I must say. But the food is not developed yet. From start, when you arrive it's very exciting and very familiar, warm and nice atmosphere, the service is excellent from start to end. They welcome you and you feel very close to the whole staff. It's very personal. It's unusual in Stockholm. We got a total serving of 14 small courses, or it's almost small like a bite. It's smaller than the usual tasting menues I've tried. It took some time though to get through them all, we were there for 3,5 hours. The wine we tried (we didn't have the wine pairing, only a couple of glasses of a riesling), was heavenly great! But the food.. I'm so disappointed. The food was served like a little show, it was very fun and exciting to see what they served. But we got disappointed almost every time, the salt wasn't there, the balance wasn't there. They try so hard to impress so they forget about the flavors. You will be impressed by the handcrafted food and the way they serve it and how it looks, it's like art. But the flavors are just not balanced at all. The ice cream desert was very manly, and I couldn't even eat it. It was too much smokey whiskey that took over the whole dish. I think if they just focus more on the food and less on the hip presentations, and keep practicing the Flavors, then it can be really good. Also, please turn the volume of the music down a little, its a fine dining restaurant, it's not an after work place, it was too loud.

Any review that is less than four stars is absolutely full of it. This place is phenomenal. Take it from a person that has been to many many multi star restaurants. Loved the atmosphere and the food was sensational. We took the middle price wine pair which was tremendous. Cannot thank the guys enough and would not be surprised if they went straight to 2 Michelin stars. They deserve it. Maybe the staff seem like they’re are all over the place but when needed they come together to deliver a lovely experience.
