Great spot off colfax! The service was great, the food amazing! I had the greek omelette with hashbrowns and super tasty chili! My boyfriend had the chicken fried steak with gravy, he loved it! We will definitely be coming back for sure!!!

Oh how I love diners and Pete's Kitchen on Colfax fits the diner archetype to a tee - it's on East Colfax, and it's been here for decades, and it has a great, Mom-and-Pop type of vibe. Menu has breakfast, lunch and dinner, and the prices are reasonable, which is a hard thing to say for a lot of places these days. There are a lot of tables and seating, as well as counter seating that gives you a good luck at the cooks' culinary work. Parking is on the street with parking meters. I saw a sign that said the restaurant "is open 24 hours on Fridays and Saturdays." Highly recommended if you're looking for a bit of nostalgia, good food, and a bit of Denver history all thrown in. Recommended!

Came here late after a concert and the vibes were immediately immaculate. Was served and helped by Samantha and Dion (if they ever help you, treat them like royalty because they're excellent employees that should only be treated with kindness and respect (and I'll beat you up if you're mean to them)). I got a chicken gyro, and the meat was incredible! The chicken was super tender and seasoned to perfection, not to mention our food (one friend, plus me) took less than 10 minutes to be brought to us. Definitely coming back here after any late night shenanigans.

Really great spot. I’m so glad I got redirected here after going to a different spot and not even being acknowledged for 10 minutes. In contrast, the service here was fast, enthusiastic, and attentive. Everyone was smiling and it felt super welcoming. If you don’t eat pork, like me, they have gyro meat you can get with your breakfast. Whoever thought of a greasy spoon diner with gyro meat deserves whatever the culinary equivalent of a Nobel Prize is. The food shone, really. The pancakes were fluffy inside and crispy on the outside. The gyro was subtly seasoned and came with a side of tzatziki. Hash browns were crispy on the outside. The eggs were cooked perfectly. I’d absolutely come back here again next time I’m in Denver

Haven’t been here in years. Same atmosphere & the service was on point. Many times to choose from & so I’ll Mos Def be back. Super swift service if U call 📱 in your to go order. So check em out if you’re ever in the neighborhood and Holla at a Playa. 👌🏾

A local favorite and a historical location, this spot seems like it has maintained its hole-in-a-wall stature, interior is old and worn off. Despite that the place has lots of recognition and accolades displayed on their wall. But the outdoor seating they have, looked so new and modern, best part of the restaurant. The breakfast items we tried were okay. Lemonade was decent. Pancakes were not so good. Service is okay. Dishes came out within a short time. We were happy to have checked mark this iconic spot but probably not the best experience we imagined.

Nothing better than a hot meal after class! To think so many movie stars have eaten in this place! You will feel like a rock star yourself when you leave satisfied. A must go place.

Great little place. Stopped here with my parents for an early lunch on our way to an appointment in Denver. Our waitress (I didn't catch her name) was super sweet, and our food arrived quickly. I had the spinach and feta omelette which was tasty, and I like that they offer pita bread as an alternative to toast. My dad enjoyed his beautiful Greek salad, and my mom liked her breakfast combo. My only complaint is that it was kind of chilly in the restaurant, but I understand it's an older building (and this is February in Denver). Otherwise, awesome experience!

The breakfast burrito, half red sauce half green, was very agreeable. And everything else was good, with big portions and nice people. We enjoyed the outdoor seating under a nice canopy. But the interior vibe is fun.

Stopped here before heading to the airport. Our server was great! He was very nice and prompt. We were seated near the back door. We could smell sewage or something unpleasant. The food okay. I ordered the chili. It was not the type of chili I'm used to. I think I took one bite. We all ate our food including my kiddo so that's A win.

Cool ambience, convenient location, booths galore + optional outside seating. Great menu options, but unfortunately, although my club sandwich had promise, the turkey and ham were of the watery / rubbery quality grade, so I had to take it home and swap out the meats for some high quality turkey, which made it pretty good. Prices are pretty high ($15 for a club sandwich and fries). Fries were very good. Coffee was not bad but a little mile / bland. No flavored creamers, no Stevia. Service was super friendly and prompt! Seems like a great little place, and the above issues I experienced are pretty easy fixes, so hopefully the owner takes a listen.

I came for late breakfast just after 11am after encountering substantial delays at nearby breakfast spots. They had a full house, but a few seats at the counter were open by the door. It's been 5 years since my last visit for breakfast. Their prices have not increased since then. I chose a new breakfast item, a Chorizo burrito for $15.20; Lots of chorizo sausage & hash browns in a large flour tortilla smothered with green chili. Both the chorizo and chili had a bit of heat. I added a large glass of pink grapefruit juice for $4. My server brought my order quickly. A good breakfast for $20.80, I tipped my server $3 cash.

First stop in Denver and we licked our plates clean...! Pete's Kitchen is a solid diner in Denver - we saw the breakfast burrito supreme is a must and it satisfied our hungry stomachs. The green chile is soo delicious and the burrito is PACKED with eggs, gyro, meats and topped with cheese. The fried hash brown was the BEST part about this burrito. Biscuits and gravy are a classic too!

Pete's is always the same, a Denver staple, an eclectic mix of patrons, and an assured tasty greasy spoon meal. The chicken kabob sandwich was phenomenal! My only wish for Pete's would be to have the lemon orzo soup every. damn. day!

Pete's is an institution! I have been going here since I was a child. We went on a Sunday morning and we were greeted with diner delicious aromas, a warm and friendly environment, and despite being busy, a warm welcome. We were promptly seated, ordered and food came out as fresh as can be and super quickly! You cannot beat the prices. The turkey melt and fish fillet sandwiched were cooked to perfection, the bread grilled with butter to absolute perfection. Both sandwiches were mouth watering good. We left full as can be, and only paid 30$! The fries were crispy and fried goodness. Pete's has a lot on the menu and everything I've ever tried has always been delicious. I also love the club sandwich! If you haven't been to Pete's, be sure to stop by! This is a Denver institution and is still going strong after 80 years!

Came here for the first time and it was an experience! Food is hearty and food falling off the plate. To my surprise they serve Greek food that was amazing. Definitely a must try! Service is fast and the environment is fast paced.

I was hungry at 2am after a night out in town and this was one the only places open! It was a good place. Service is quick and lots of food options on the menu. A lot of tables inside. Looks like a regular diner to me that's open 24/7 on weekends. When I went, it was getting pretty packed. Overall a good place for a late night meal!

I love a gyros salad. The Italian dressing needs a lot of work, all oil and a smidgeon of seasonings and any vinegar that is left is at the bottom of the plastic cup. Come'on... this can't possibly be Pete's recipe from the 60's. My Dad loved this spot. Is it management or the kitchen?

A perfect diner experience. Always my go to!! Service and food are consistent. Probably my favorite place to get breakfast or brunch in Denver, now that Dozens closed due to a kitchen fire.

Went during lunch time Thursday, got the cowboy burger MR with fries and absolutely loved it. They have such a range of options but can't go wrong with a diner burger. Only thing was that it was 15$ for single paddie which isn't bad just wished it was meatier. Great diner feel with great diner service.

I mean.. what can you say about Pete's? It's a Denver institution. This diner has been around forever and is well loved by all. There is a line every weekend out the door for seating, but it moves pretty quickly. You can usually find a seat at the counter too if needed. The breakfast burritos is usually the fan favorite and its my standard order. It's smothered in green chili. The chili could use some heat, but it's really the combo of bacon, eggs, crispy potatoes in an extra large tortilla smothered in chili with more cheese that does it for me. The service is always friendly and you see all walks of life in here. I've spent many nights after the bars closed getting a burrito to soak up some alcohol. Every visit makes me feel nostalgic and a little homesick for my youth. Glad to know Pete's is still serving up the goods!

It's a solid 4 star place. Lot's of big windows on the left side of the place as you come in. Wait staff was friendly. Gyro was very good. If you live near the place give it a try.

Classic place. Quick, delicious diner faire. Gyro plate was awesome; cut right off the spit! I always visit when in the area. The staff have always been so kind and inviting.

Ordered the Philly Cheesesteak. Just a hot beef with mushrooms, grilled onions and peppers, completely bland. Fries were better than average.

I've heard about Petes before but never made it in until now. It's a fun little old school diner that really takes you back. Service is good, menu is huge and food is reasonably priced. I sat at the bar and was immediately greeted. I felt bad because the server came by a couple times before I was ready to order - the menu is quite expansive. I ordered a combo with eggs and added a pancake- why not? I asked for the eggs to be over medium and the toast to be heated but not toasted. One egg met my definition of medium, the other was kind of undercooked- even the white was a little runny. The bread was also over toasted in my opinion but then I looked at someone else's and it was much darker so maybe that's standard. The pancake was HUGE and fluffy and the potatoes were amazing, crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. Server was constantly coming by to refill the coffee and although food came out quickly and she handed me my check, I didn't feel rushed. Overall a good place to checkout, even if just for the history.

Love Pete's. First started coming here back in 2017. Love their basic breakfast dishes and their Greek chicken is wonderful. Got a simple breakfast this time but it always hits the spot! Their biscuits and gravy is also delish.

Very good Diner if you're used to East Coast diner culture. Unfortunately they're only 24 hours on the weekends, but it's very easy to be seated and it's incredibly fast service. Food is exactly what you'd expect from a diner - I recommend the reuben.

Souvlaki not a a skewer, not grilled???? Served on a laptop. Frozen fries.. not fresh. Pita bread is eh.. ok Had way better. Flavor is lacking. Service is nice and friendly. Typical diner decor... Food is everything.. when you are supposed to be known as a "Greek joint" right?????. Big disappointment considering all the hype I read About this place... not original Greek Food

I suppose if you are really hungover & are in the area, then this might be an OK choice, but I certainly wouldn't go out of my way to eat here. There is an overall feeling of being unclean. The menus, salt & pepper shakers etc. on the table felt like they have not been wiped down in quite some time. The floors were pretty dirty with crumbs etc. My coffee had a weird taste and smell, like it was made with dirty water or their coffee pots were dirty, Our food, pancakes, eggs & hash browns all had a strange taste as well. Almost like the flat top has not been cleaned in a very long time & so our food all had remains of years of other foods that were made before. Our server was really nice and kept checking on us & that was the only reason I gave a 2nd star. I would certainly recommend looking elsewhere.

We came here at the suggestion of my friend who now lives in Denver and we were planning to meet up after 20 years! She said it was a Denver staple. We got there and the place is an old fashion diner that has been around since 1942 and I would guess their cash register is original. It was super old and very cool. Nothing fancy here but it just gives you the warm feeling of nostalgia while you're there. The service was friendly and quick. Ben ordered the corned beef hash and I built my own omelet with sausage, mushrooms and cheese. It came out amd tasted as expected. Sometimes it's nice to go to places that its not all shiny with extra bells and whistles but just down home cooking.

PROS: this is a traditional place that many celebrities go to. The atmosphere was diner-like as expected while the food and waitress were good. Prices were appropriate and variety was much CONS: very little street parking and not in the best area. The hostess wasn't the friendliest and the place was cramped. It only had bathrooms that could fit one person which caused a line OVERALL: I would recommend coming to this place if you're in Denver since it's traditional, I just wish it had the space and parking like what other diners have

Pete's Kitchen is a place I've passed by many times and the nostalgic sign gives it away from the outside what kind of place it is. How can one not love a diner vibe every now and then? Forget the bougie once and a while and get to choose from a huge menu, get a big plate of food, and pay half the price as you would at a pricey place. But, also realizing there may be fewer scratch-made items, and more Sisco stuff, it's all a give and take. My friend was going for a soup & salad, but they didn't have soup for the day for some reason. However, they had a couple of chilis! When pondering green or red chili, the server asked without hesitation if my friend wanted to get a taste of each - now that's a diner! They would *never* offer that up in a "regular" restaurant. We both got the chance to taste them (I personally like mixing them together - hah). She went with the red and a greek salad which looked wonderful when it came out. As much as I wanted to be healthy, I was really craving something hearty and one of my go-to's is a good ole patty melt, so that's what I went with. Inside they have one side as the "diner side" seating and then a sort of extended, covered patio side on the other. There aren't alcoholic beverages, so just know that before going in case you're in the mood for an adult drink, but there are several booze providers in the area that you could go after Pete's! I think it's a cute and friendly place.

My favorite place to eat in this city... one of the only classic Denver businesses left in the city - that real diner feeling. Also open 24 hours Friday and Saturday. A great open kitchen with a simple and fantastic menu. I bring all my friends here. I eat here alone. I love it. Check it out. The vibe is a good one.

Classic diner feel. The Reuben sandwich and French fries were great, talk about a comfort meal. Meanwhile, the smothered burrito was too much for me. Aside from being massive, the combination of chili with the soft burrito fillings made it all one big pile of mush after not too long.

This place would go from boring and bland to reliably delicious by just SEASONING YOUR DAMN FOOD. Worst Philly cheesesteak I've ever had in the city. Shit was 65% green onion, no seasoning anywhere.

The food has been amazing my entire life, and to go back after not eating here in 10yrs was so refreshing, because they've definitely not lost their touch! The best smothered deluxe breakfast burrito in the world!

This is the first time I've been there post pandemic. I had the Fish & Chips, my friend had the Mexican Hamburger. He enjoyed his meal as well. We got there about a hour before closing and I think the waitress was a little frazzled. She took our order, and started to walk away, I mentioned to my friend don't you want a coffee or something, he ordered a Diet Coke, and I was going to ask for one as well, but she walked away. Now during the meal she check on us a couple of times. Halfway through the meal, I hear the cashier tell the waitress that she needs to close out the register. Now this is a good 20 minutes before closing, the waitress came over and put the check down and let me know I needed to pay now, as the cashier can't leave until we are settled. We left about 10 minutes later, said thank you to the staff up front, tried the door, it was locked. I asked the cashier, and she said she told me to use the other door. She must not had been very loud because I couldn't hear her. This would be a 5 star review, but as you see a few things knocked it down to a 4. Maybe if I were to try again, when there not in a hurry to close, my experience would be better.

I've visited this restaurant a few times in the past year. Typically, the service is amazing and the food is on par for the price. However, I would like to express my concerns for how this place operates when it's 24/7 on the weekend nights. It takes a really long time to receive my food and the team running the restaurant was extremely rude. I don't see this as a reflection on the team but rather management. Please know that your establishment does get high volume in the after midnight hours and your scheduling should reflect that. The happy quick serviced team during the day turns into a overworked frustrated team during the night hours. I really hate to write this review but seeing the workers struggle to even remember what tables food goes to along with the drooping eye bags is just heartbreaking to me. Please fix this.

Pete's Kitchen is a no frills 24-hour diner that serves great food for a lower cost! The French Toast was fluffy and delicious (and I'm usually not a fan). The Special was the breakfast burrito--we didn't read that it was smothered but no matter, it was still pretty good. Try Pete's own Hot Sauce, there are 3 kinds, which you most likely could purchase from the diner. Overall, great find in Denver! Our waitress and hostess was very kind as well. Great way to spend our last morning in Denver, enjoy it!

Honestly just your classic diner. The vibe is not trying too hard to be something it is not. It's a perfectly classic spot. Phenomenal portions, great pancakes, and they serve their coffee in one of those mugs that not only feel great in your hand BUT on your lips too. Kind staff ALWAYS and fair prices. Pro tip: get your hashbrowns extra crispy.

Place just smelled not clean. Toast came out pre-"buttered" but definitely wasnt butter on it. Not sure what it was. Grilled sandwich had same off taste from whatever they use to fry (not butter). Omelette was very tasty and service was great. Biggest issue was the smell

You have Illegal Petes on one side and Pete's Diner on the the other side??? What do you choose??? Well I chose the place that has been open since 1942, Pete's Diner. I had a hankering for gyro-amazing food and was looking to P's D to satisfy my cravings. I ordered the gyro salad, and my D W ordered the gyro sandwich with side salad. Pete's D came through with a delicious monster size salad, with loads of gyro meat (oh-yeh) piled on top, and pita, plus tzatziki sauce on the side. The Greek dressing that came with the salad was Greek enough for me to want to smash a couple of plates on the floor ( the waitress wasn't cool with that).$ Q R codes are used to check out the menu for contactless ordering, and it was a simply beautiful day to sit outside and eat on the side of the restaurant. I really liked Pete's and it has been put on my list of delicious Colfax Ave, eateries.

I waited for almost 90 mins for a simple order of chili rellenos and eggs after 2 times reminder the server, it was not even started after 90 mins, my friends finished their meal and I was done. I cancelled my order after 90 mins to find out that my order was not even started. Horrible services, listening skills, and follow through. Never coming back again-ever! And making sure to notify other individuals of my experience!

The fries here are really something else! We've been talking about trying Pete's Kitchen for months and finally stopped in for a late night dinner. Awesome neighborhood vibes here and love that there is a parking lot. We got the chicken kabob sandwich and an order of french toast. The sandwich was good, although an absolute mess to eat (pita was broken in multiple spots and could not be picked up), but the fries were crispy and delicious. The french toast did not have much flavor at all and was pretty disappointing. It took us quite a while to get service. Once our server came over, she apologized and insisted she grab us some fountain drinks on the house. We are typically water people, but obliged. The fountain drinks (oj and a dr. pepper) were not drinkable -- tasted like straight syrup -- but we did not care since they were free. The next morning, I realized we were absolutely charged for the fountain drinks (~$7-8), which is why our bill seemed so high for two entrees (bills are not itemized). I called Pete's Kitchen to ask if they could confirm what we were charged for and to adjust the transaction from the card swipe less than 12 hours prior, and they said they could not do anything. It may have been an honest mistake, but rubbed me the wrong way, since a customer really does not know what they're paying for without and itemized receipt, and we would not have gotten drinks had our server not insisted. Good diner vibes and a nice option for late night food, but check your receipts!

Holy guacamole is this place fantastic!! My husband had the pancake sandwich and I had the souvlaki!! Wow. So tasty. Great service great food and great music going !! Oh to live closer
