I meant to write this review last week, but did not get around to it until now. I’m still thinking about the meal I had a week later it was so good! We did the tasting menu each and I paired mine with the wine pairing as well. It exceeded expectations I had on the place. I am always very skeptical when I see “Vegan” being the head liner for a restaurant. As 8 times out of 10 in my experience the food will usually have a lack luster of taste, portions are completely off, too small, or way to much of a specific item, or just over priced for what you end up receiving. Pharm Table did not disappoint by any means. The quality and flavor of each dish was delectable, fresh, and savory. It is not a short dining experience if you get the Tasting Menu, as they prepare each dish to order for the table. They do have al a carte options as well if you’re not wanting the Tasting Menu. They started us with a ginger meal starter (it’s like an immunity style shot). Theres was definitely not the ones you buy in bulk. It was completely made in house and left you with satisfaction with the sweet, tangy, and salty flavor. Then, they brought out a cucumber salad that was very flavorful, salty, and a slight sweetness with a playful crunch in each bite. Next, they rough out two shareable dishes. One was a roasted red cabbage and the other was masa with black beans, salsa, and cashew yogurt paired together. I preferred the roasted cabbage and my husband preferred the masa. Both savory and fresh. Finally the entree round came and was pleasantly surprised and how good the entree was. I went out on a limb and ordered the egg plant. I’m never one to order egg plant at a restaurant usually as it will come over or under done, under flavored, and never leave you satisfied. However, the egg plant entree blew my expectations away after the waiter recommended it. It was perfectly cooked and had tremendous flavor and the textures were equally paired with the soft egg plant and chard vegetables. Would definitely order it again. Probably my favorite wine pairing as well. My husband got the salmon and was equally just as good with flavor and satisfaction. Lastly we ended with desert. That was our least favorite of the dishes. The wine pairing with the desert was also my least favorite. It was a very light fruit dessert and creamy, but it could have used a light almond style crust on the bottom perhaps to contain the liquid from the fruit and the coconut cream. With that all said I am eager to go back and get more delectable food from them. The best food I’ve had in San Antonio yet!!
