Philz Coffee - Review - Embarcadero - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"Philz is a local coffee chain with several locations in SF and around the Bay (and many others all around California and Chicago). Their non-espresso drinks that are more dessert than beverage have amassed a cult following—they’re the antithesis of bitter drip with sweet, velvety cream and the occasional mint sprig. Our go-to is the iced Ecstatic, but if it’s your first time, get the Mint Mojito. This location on the Embarcadero is big enough to parallel park a semi in and like the other outposts, is usually a great spot to get some work done." - Julia Chen

They have a selection of dark, medium and lights brew coffees. A description of the taste for profile is helpful. I enjoyed the light manhattan brew. Everyone is attentive and friendly. Service was quick and efficient

Besides good coffee, this place is very spacious. I love sitting by the window people watch and also love seeing the row of trees on Market Street in front. The staff are nice. The barista sounded so enthusiastic every time she called a customer’s name and handed the coffee to them. I enjoyed seeing the street performers occasionally sings nearby as well.

The person who made my medium tesora on June 29th at 4:05pm - please Philz coffee quality control. You need to stop here. I also had it as medium medium. The cream wasn't even filled to the top. I also saw this person use a whisk to stir the coffee ground filtered. You are suppose to use a spoon. And I have a feeling some of them are not changing out their switch cups every three usages.

I'm always in for Philz to check out the hype, officially a fanboy and I'm hooked! I am addicted to the Dark Roast Jacob's Wonderbar blend, normally a phenomenal flavor and tones but this location specifically wasn't up to scratch in comparison. The coffee tasted weaker or unfresh as compared to other chains I've been to which was a shame. I really dig the comfy, quirky, unique and chilled vibes and tones of this chain, it's really comforting, welcoming and a rad jam.

You can't beat this place. The best coffee chain possibly in the bay for sure and arguably in the country. EVERYTHING is pour over. No espresso machines. The Mocha Tesora is my favorite item and I encourage everyone to try it out if you like chocolate.

Great place to grab a drink. Staff is very friendly and nice. However, if you are looking to study or get some work done here, you might find it hard to focus bc of how loud the music is.

It doesn't look like the best place from outside, could do with a little update but the Mocha Tesora is fantastic. Easily the best coffee I've had in San Francisco so far.

Coffee is absolutely delicious. But the food i wouldn’t recommend. My husband got a vegan breakfast sandwich and i got a turkey sausage English muffin. Both the sandwiches the bread was too hard. Almost like they heated it up too much? I dont think it was stale but the bread was too hard to eat. Same with the turkey sausage.
