Great service! Food came out piping hot in less than 10 minutes. I had veggie spring rolls and my son had the shrimp pho. Both were delicious although I personally could’ve used more flavor in the pho. Love the decor and was able to find street parking right out back. Mind you, it was the middle of the day on a Friday. Wasn’t too busy inside but the ambience and music was nice.

With the weather beginning to get colder - what better time to start exploring to find great Pho restaurants in the DMV. My friend and I decided to try Pho House because of its very central location, and also because of its great reviews. Overall, the food was delicious and the we were able to add extra meats and make substitutions to our orders which was great. The broth that I had with my Pho was very well made. The flavours were substantive, as were the meats that were in the dish.

Google
Not terrible, but nothing to write home about. Good place for a quick bite. I'm vegan, so I got the tofu summer rolls and tofu & veggie vermicelli noodle bowl. The noodles were basically a stir fry dish, which was disappointing. I was hoping for a traditional Vietnamese vermicelli bun dish with the cold plain noodles, cold raw veggies, fried tofu, and sauce. The stir fry didn't have any distinguishable Vietnamese flavors like lemongrass, basil, cilantro, mint, etc. I actually liked the summer rolls more because they had basil & mint. The staff are very nice though, so that was good.

Google
Not a big fan, sorry 😞 Would love to say something different but I wasn’t a huge fan. The meatballs in my Pho were rubbery and I had to order different meat 🥩. Going to have to pass on this one next time.

Google
I believe this restaurant is over rated. Prices are great, but the taste is so so for me. The banh mi tasted like something the Subway chain would've made... which is actually shielding they havent yet already. The shrimp spring rolls were ok but just lacked that fresh flavor complexity im used to with Vietnamese food (e.g. lemongrass herb, cilantro, fresh crunchy carrots, vinegar, etc) Service was very friendly and accurate!

Google
I'm grateful to have this place in the neighborhood and carry me through the cold and flu season. Of the handful of times I've come, only once was service slow; otherwise, it's very fast. Proportions are good. Broth could be more flavorful. I don't recommend the summer rolls, which are mostly lettuce. I recommend the consistently good pho when you're sick, hungry, or hungover.

Google
Best Pho in the city. Hands down! They deserve the hype. The Pho Sate is always amazing and piping hot even if you order through a delivery service. They package it so it arrives so you can craft it in a bowl and it’s just like eating in. This place is great.

I was feeling under the weather and really wanted some pho so I did some research and decided on this spot. Upon entering it was completely empty and very dim inside. I stood for a few minutes and started to pace a bit past a doorway that said employees only. I saw a shadow and I assumed they finally noticed there was a customer present, meaning me. A few moments later someone finally comes from the back to greet me and take my to go order. He was very kind and accommodated my request to have the Pho Sate made with chicken only. I also ordered the fried shrimp dumplings which were very delicious and the sauce that came with them was sweet with just the right amount of spice. The pho was great as well and a very good portion size. I will visit again although I wish they were a bit more attentive.

Yelp
Dare I say it but I think I found the best pho in DC?! I was craving pho on a rainy weekday and decided to look on yelp for recommendations. This place kept coming up and I was confused because I've never heard of it but decided to give it a try. While pulling up, I realized that I've driven/or walked past this place for YEARS. The outside is nothing to speak of, especially being on U St. honestly, I didn't even know if it was still open based on the exterior but when you walk in, it's like stepping into a different world. The place is nicely decorated inside and very clean. It's surprisingly pretty spacious for its location. I ordered the Pho 5 which comes and Thai iced tea with boba. The waitress took our orders fast and before we knew it, our pho came out. On the first taste, the broth was delicious. We had a moment where we both looked up at each other with genuine shock because we were underestimating the place. The meats were tender and of good quality. The Thai iced tea was also delicious but I would recommend without the boba because it just lacked flavor. Overall, this place is definitely a "don't judge a book by its cover" sleeper pho spot but it's delicious!! Planning to come back here many more times!

Yelp
Nice Pho place on Florida Ave I liked my pho with lemon grass and sate. The summer rolls were not my favorite had too much lettuce and not enough other fillings so it tasted bland to me. The pho was nice and fresh tasting having great flavor balanced with the heat of the chilly oil sauce. The beef slices tasted good nice and tender. Service was ok didn't refill our water or check on the food. Inside thry have tvs but this a no frills pho place which gives great tasting pho.

Yelp
As a Vietnamese American who grew up eating homecooked delicious pho for breakfast, lunch, and dinner... here are my thoughts: Pho here was okay-good. I always try the classic Combination pho in all the pho restaurants I go to. I ordered the #1 combo, and the broth flavor was not as bold as I wanted to be. It felt a little lackluster to me, so much that I had to add more Sriracha and Hoisin sauce to this broth to make it taste better. For the price point of $18 with tax, I don't think that's this bowl of was worth my money because I didn't have as much meat, noodles and broth as I would like. I will come here again if I needed to *partially* fill a craving It was also a quiet atmosphere inside during a Saturday lunch hour and my waiter didn't really come back to check on me, which was OK I guess, but the service was average as well. --------- My Star Rating Scale: 5 Stars: Excellent--- Blew my mind, had a wow factor, will come back 4 Stars: Good--- I liked it but didn't love it, no wow factor, will still come back 3 Stars: Okay--- It was okay, I didn't hate it but didn't like it either; would not voluntarily come back 2 Stars: Bad--- I did not like it, I would not come back 1 Star: Horrible--- Absolutely hated it, I would not come back here

Yelp
Great pho in town. Rich broth with plentiful briskets just perfectly cooked. They were kind enough to give us an overwhelming amount of cilantro and lime. Gave four stars because our summer roll and crispy spring rolls were subpar. Usually comes with side of lettuce, noodles, carrots, and cilantro leaves to serve together. However wasn't upset as the pho was delicious

Yelp
Pho House has been by far one of my favorite spots since moving into the neighborhood! My roommate & I visit at least once a week. I can say the quality and quantity of the food has been consistently delicious!! The spot is a whole in the wall but please don't pass it off. It's clean, staff is friendly for the most part and the portions are great for the price, especially in the area.

Yelp
This was my fist time having pho and it was such a good experience. The spicy lemongrass broth was just enough for me and I liked the variety of meat in the combo option. The service was quick and they also serve a plate of bean sprouts and veggies on the side for you to add to the soup.

Yelp
Walked in here on happenstance, as I was driving through the area and noticed the restaurant. I was craving soup, so decided to stop in and give them a chance. It's a very colorful restaurant with artwork, hand made designs, and floral arrangements throughout the interior. It was seat yourself seating when I walked in, but the service was just ok. I wasn't really sure who was my server because one employee told me to just take a seat when I sat down but never checked on me to ask if I was ready to order after handing me the menu. He was sitting at a table, just chilling on his computer. Another woman came out from the back and I asked her if I could order. I noticed some customers would walk to him or her, so it wasn't clear who was really manning the floor. Anyways, it was my first time trying pho, so I was eager to eat it. I ordered the brisket pho, and wow. It came out in a rather large bowl, and each table had condiments to add to the soup, like chili sauce, siracha, and some type of oyster sauce. To be honest, the broth was extremely flavorful and I added a bit of chili sauce just to enhance the overall flavor, but the pho was exceptionally delicious. The brisket was thinly sliced and really paired well with the broth. The noodles were cooked well, and I was able to pick up on many different flavors in the dish, like cilantro, lemon, onion, etc. It was so tasty and I really appreciated the presentation of the dish as well. Although the servers were not very attentive, I'm thinking it's just the vibe of the restaurant. They left me alone and I was able to eat my food in peace. I definitely would come back again because the pho was very delicious. I guess I would just manage my expectations about their service. Smh.

Yelp
We had a great meal at Pho House! We came here after seeing a show at Howard Theater, and it was just across the street. The restaurant is cute! It smelled pretty strongly of disinfectant, which is off putting for when you're hungry but at least you know the place is clean! The service was quick! We got pho and some fried dumplings and tofu. The food was really good. I thought the pho was much better than the apps we tried.

Yelp
I have been trying various pho places in DC and northern Virginia area this winter. I came across this place while exploring pho places in the Shaw area. Ambiance is great. Very bright and clean. From the outside it does not look anything special, but trust me they have a great restaurant and very friendly staff. Loved their service. I have had their all meat pho and pho sate. Pho sate is a spicy broth with lemongrass flavor. Highly recommend this one if you want something spicy. It has amazing flavors. Traditional one is pretty good as well. Lots of meat. You can balance the spice in the traditional one by adding some house hot sauce. It's competitively priced as compared to the other pho spots. Parking can be hard to find in this location as it's located in the heart of Shaw neighborhood. I recommend taking a metro.

Yelp
The pho here is really good Lots of depth in the flavor You can tell they cook the broth for hours Love the portions as well I usually order to go and they are very quick with takeout orders

Yelp
Easily the best pho in this city. From the moment we walked in it felt like home, the smell of delicious food in the air. We were immediately seated and service was great! I ordered the pho seafood and my bf had the pho tai. We shared goi cuon Tom (summer rolls with shrimp) and each had a Thai iced tea. The presentation of everything was simple yet beautiful. The broth of the pho had so much depth and was delicious. If you haven't tried this place you are certainly missing out!

Yelp
got takeout from here, but the inside looked cute as well! ordered the vegan tofu noodles and the veggie pho, and both were absolutely delicious with portions large enough to last for leftovers. def will be ordering from here again!!!

Yelp
I had an 8:00 reservation for a speakeasy nearby and literally stumbled upon this place by accident. It's right across the street from Howard Theater, and there's an entrance on both T Street and Florida Ave. I stepped inside and was immediately told to sit wherever I would like. There were plenty of tables around, and the decor didn't really stand out. Music was on point though! I decided to get the Seafood Pho and some shrimp summer rolls. I enjoyed the summer rolls and peanut sauce so much that I got another order for myself... that rarely happens!! The pho was simply delicious... sriracha, chili oil and hoisin sauce were available on the table for me to add as much heat and extra flavor as I wanted to... totally worth it. I haven't tried too many different pho places, but this was pretty darn good! The broth wasn't too exciting (flavor-wise) before I added the sauces, I will say. But aside from that... if you need a pho fix, check this spot out. For early on a Saturday evening the crowd wasn't too wild either. Give em a shot!
google avatar

Dana A.

Yelp
Ambience is blah but the pho is delicious. We got the combo and the spicy lemongrass and would get them both again. The egg rolls came out crispy and hot, they were small so I probably wouldn't get them again for the price but they were delicious. Also, they give a lot of bean sprouts, basil, and jalapeño, more than any other Vietnamese restaurant I've been to. Definitely a quality that makes this place stand out! The service...Only 1-2 people work the front of the house at a time. It's very bare bones staffing. When you come in you can grab any table you like. You have to order at the cash register and give your table number if you're dining in. You pay at the cash register when you're done eating. The employee wasn't great with English so I pointed to things on the menu and brought the drinks from the fridge to the cash register. FYI - You can only enter the restaurant through the entrance on U St. The back entrance is locked.

Yelp
I would say the food was just ok. My wife is Vietnamese so I feel have a decent reference for good Vietnamese food. The Pho was fine, bahn mi was ok but the spring rolls and peanut sauce were not even close to authentic. The young kid seating us and taking our order seemed like he was regretting life choices and made everyone well aware of that with some pretty lackluster service. The guy that actually brought the food out was full of smiles which was nice. Ambiance, none. But really didn't factor into the 3 stars.

Raquel D.

Yelp
We ordered pho and fresh rolls and the only vegetables that the fresh rolls had were lettuce. The pho also did not have a lot of flavor and just had meat and noodles. The service was quick at the start but after we got our meals, we did not hear from our waiter again until we went up to him to pay. Maybe it was a bad night for them but not great overall.

Yelp
It's pho season again, and what an incredible find! Ordered some stellar take out here for the family. Food: Everyone loved their pho; we ordered beef, chicken, and veggie. The veggie broth was aromatic, vegetables were plentiful, tofu wasn't too greasy, and overall, I was happy. Wish it had a little more protein but next time I know to add more. Fresh rolls were okay. Drinks: I also added the lemon juice, which was basically a delicious lemonade. It would have been tasty with boba too. Packaging: Great! A big microwaveable bowl came with all the ingredients and a big plastic cup was on the side with the broth. I really like that they put the raw meat into the broth - which cooked it - rather than give us the meat raw. Think I'll try the beef pho next!
google avatar

Harley S.

Yelp
Nice new spot for pho. Very distinct start anise flavor. Great condiments. Really fresh. The well-done brisket here is particularly tender and flavorful!
google avatar

Ayret C.

Yelp
This is probably the best pho spot on the planet. They have great meat combination options allowing you to get what you really want. The broth is the most complex and flavorful I've ever had. Staff is hit or miss and could show more love to regulars. They do have a rewards system if you add your number. Very laid back ambiance.
google avatar

Carolyn F.

Yelp
Best pho in DC. I am so happy this place opened. The atmosphere is minimal but nice and their music is a great vibe (usually lofi pop). I have eaten here 1x/mo since they opened over a year ago and the quality and consistency has stayed excellent. Their vegetable pho has delicious flavor, fresh vegetables, and their broth is the cleanest tasting I've had in the DC area.
google avatar

Felicia W.

Yelp
A solid casual neighborhood spot to satisfy your pho cravings or cure your hangover. Been here a few times and I'm never blown away but I'm never disappointed either. Standard portions and price, and always get served pretty quickly.
google avatar

Yelp
Pho House has been open for a little over a month now, and I've tried a few of their pho (the one with everything, the spicy lemongrass, and the one with brisket and tendon) and appetizers. Every visit thus far, they have been very reasonable with their toppings (bean sprouts, lime, jalapeño, basil), and the beef is slightly rosy upon serving, but the soup is hot enough that by the time you mix everything together, it is beautifully all done. I've enjoyed all of the pho I've had so far. The spicy fried tofu is pretty good with the accompanying sweet sauce. The service has been a bit slow, but the staff are polite. It is a great addition to the neighborhood, and I look forward to trying their banh mi or other non-pho options.
google avatar

Al B.

Yelp
The Pho was outstanding and huge. Really enjoyed! Great selection of Pho and vermicelli noodle dishes/
google avatar

Jason W.

Yelp
Ordered pho for takeout and it was excellent. Both beef and vegetable broth are packed with flavor, and when you add in the hoisin sauce, sriracha, and basil leaves, as well as the noodles and meat, it makes for a hearty meal. Very reasonably priced.
google avatar

Jewel C.

Yelp
You already know I'm always looking for some good pho. This place just recently opened and wanted to try it out. And I'm glad I did. It's large enough to hold big groups, clean interior, and friendly staff. Food? The broth wasn't the best pho I've ever had but it might've been the veggie pho I've had. And I've tried many. The vegetables were fresh and had a great variety. It paired very well w the broth. Im not mad about it. Would come again if Im near.
google avatar

Yelp
THIRD DAY IN A ROW ordering the PHO THOM! I cannot get enough! The egg rolls are my other "I could eat EVERY DAY" item! Anything I've ever ordered from them has been deeeeeelish! Pho House NEVER DISAPPOINTS! Consistently DIVINE!!

Patricia M.

Yelp
Pho was great and the spring rolls. Customer service decent but nothing exceptional. Would definitely go back.
google avatar

Yelp
Sadly we are solid foods including pork, shrimp and vermicelli. I hope to get back to actually have Pho because the neighboring table's orders looked great .
google avatar

Ameera B.

Yelp
This was a decent spot with ample space and seating - at least on a Tuesday evening. Pho was tasty, summer roll was fresh, and service was good.
google avatar

David H.

Yelp
probably closer to a 3 but bumping to 4 - decent quality soups, the pho sate is a favorite and also liked the noodle bowls. the garden rolls are ok but very little shrimp/pork in them and the rice paper was very stiff. overall decent, a nice spot in the neighborhood to grab a quick takeout bite. they also have a good amount of seating inside but service can be slower during busier times as they're a small team.
google avatar

alyssa c.

Yelp
It was okay. I wouldn't order from them again tho. I've had much much better and more favorable pho. I ordered takeout so I can't speak to the restaurant itself, only the food.
google avatar

Yelp
Nice ambiance, fast and nice service! Delicious food! Will come back! Very clean as well.

Yelp
New to the neighborhood they opened 8 months ago. The atmosphere was chill the server told us to sit anywhere we would like. We took a quite table in the back. There was a large family in the front. The service was great starting us off with water but I always need time to look over the menu. There are many different options the one thing I wish there was is a veggie summer roll, I got the veg egg roll instead still amazing. Food came out quickly and HOT! Overall verdict I will come back
google avatar

Yelp
Good food. But parking a little bit harder. We love the food. Highly recommend. We ordered PHo combo and Chicken fried rice. The boys liked it
google avatar

Liam E.

Yelp
Wow! I got the pho ga and it is the best pho I've tasted so far in the District since I moved here a year and half ago. Ordered through Door Dash but will definitely head over to Shaw and eat at the restaurant next time I get this deliciously fresh and flavorful pho.
google avatar

Michael F.

Yelp
I order Pho from here almost once a week! Tastes great and they package it up nicely!
google avatar

Evertte W.

Yelp
Great Pho! They really give you quite a bit for your money. I had the beef Pho and the egg rolls. The egg rolls were some of the best I've had in my life. I would definitely go back again.
google avatar

Peter S.

Yelp
Been to this place twice. Pho is OK, can taste msg to the max tho. I got honeydew boba tea, it was the most artificial tasting drink I've ever had in my life. I don't know what these previous reviewers ate or if we can even trust their reviews lol. But nah fam, this ain't it 3 star rating might be generous. Their service is good though?

Yelp
Food (10/10) - The food is was AMAZING!!!! I loved it here. We were here on a school trip and we were dropped off. We were craving some hot food because of the rain so we decided to stop by here. It was sooo good and a great decision. The broth was clear but salty and with a little bit of lime, it tied everything together. The meat was also extremely tender and the noodles had a nice spring. All of the stuff together made it a great meal overall. Service (10/10) - The restaurant server was very nice to us. They were very friendly and made our food very quickly. We had order Vietnamese coffee and found it to be too sweet. We asked if she could add something to it and she offered to add additional coffee. That was super generous because normally, it would just be additional ice to water down the sugar. Throughout the meal and when we left, she asked us several more times if we needed more coffee and if it was strong enough. Overall, she was amazing and made our experience there great. Overall this restaurant was very cozy and the ambience was definitely decent for a hole in the wall restaurant. The price was also very reasonable at 60 dollars with food and drink for 3 people. A bowl of noodles on a cold day was definitely delicious
google avatar

Alexsa P.

Yelp
Ok so I love this place! I'm so happy there is a decent pho spot close to me! Idk what they did with the pho broth yesterday but it was amazing!

Yelp
Wonderful Pho and great customer service. A very welcome addition to the neighborhood.

Yelp
Ordered DoorDash from this restaurant. Everything was fresh/hot/delicious!! I'm so happy that I found this Vietnamese restaurant! This place can be in the Eden center and can Stan on its own. I feel like a winner ordering from this place. Everyplace I've ordered food from was garbage, not worth my money and time. Do try this place! Yummy!!

Jennifer S.

Yelp
I really enjoyed the crispy vegetable rolls and winter shrimp rolls. The peanut sauce was very watery. I got the rice pork dinner and my husband got the banh mi sammich. They brought out two sammichs, which caused my dinner to be late while my husband was half way done with his. My meat and rice came out warm and the steamed broccoli was cold. Wish I had tried the soup. Flavor was alright. I asked my hubby if he liked his sammich he said "It's food". Probably will try another Pho place next time. I've definitely had better.

Yelp
Excellent and authentic pho Basic surroundings Clean premises and courteous staff Unless you can go to the Vietnamese plaza in Virginia, this is a fine alternative.

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday night with a group of four. I know Pho House recently opened, and we were looking for something quick and easy given the rest of Florida Ave was booked to the max and bumping. The outside looks like it may be a hole in the wall (the building was previously empty for a while), but when we stepped in we were surprised to see it well lit up and moderately busy with young couples and groups of families with youths. The server had us sit anywhere, but were quick to come out to us and get our orders. We split pork and veggie rolls for the table, and each got our own entree (with myself ordering Pho #2). The rolls came out quickly and were tasty and enjoyable. We didn't have to wait long for the Pho to come out after. The Pho was served with a huge plate of sprouts and lime for the table, with condiments already there. Overall I enjoyed my Pho, as did the rest of my table enjoy theirs. One of my friends got a Bahn Mi, and were also happy with the sandwich. While for me it wasn't the best Pho I had in DC, I would come back again. I would certainly recommend stopping by here if you are in Shaw looking for a sit-down, relatively low-cost and low-frill bite away from the hectic-ness that can be Florida Ave and U Street.

Mehmet B.

Yelp
Amazing food, great ambiance, nice music, cleanliness, friendly service.. whatelse you can ask for? We visited this hidden gem before a concert at Howard Theater. It was the best Pho ever! I don't live nearby but I will definitely go back.
google avatar

Crescinda P.

Yelp
I almost never write reviews, but wanted to give this place a shout out to make sure it stays around! Some of the best pho I've had in DC - incredibly flavorful, rich broth and they pull through on the protein. I went with the pho seafood and the fish balls were probably the best I've ever had. Service was very fast and prices are affordable. I had leftovers and was able to make a few meals out of it. I will definitely be going back to try more of the menu!

Allison D.

Yelp
Best pho! Authentic and delicious. The service is amazing as well -- quick and kind. The ambiance is cozy and amazing. Highly recommend!
