The Best Phở In San Francisco - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"Broth is key to a good bowl of phở, so going for a version where the broth is served separately might feel like committing a mortal sin. But, the dặc biệt phở kho at Phở Tân Hòa in the Tenderloin will rewrite your entire phở-eating philosophy. Long egg noodles are backed by a crew of peanuts, tendon, flank, brisket, tripe, and rare steak. Drizzle on some chili oil and dunk everything in the broth that’s served on the side, performing a constant, back-and-forth of dipping and slurping. Get a creamy cà phê sữa đá for a wake-me-up kick to get you out of your post-phở slumber." - julia chen 1, ricky rodriguez, patrick wong

The 19 Best Vietnamese Restaurants In SF - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"The menu at this giant Vietnamese spot is longer than your never-ending to-do list, but focus on the phở, especially the dặc biệt phở kho. The rich, smooth broth is served on the side (it’s practically two dishes in one), and the long egg noodles come loaded up with peanuts, tendon, flank, brisket, tripe, and rare steak. Follow that up with the creamy cà phê sữa đá sweetened with condensed milk for the perfect wake-me-up kick. Just get here early because they close at 3pm and have no qualms about kicking you out immediately—they have a big space to clean." - julia chen 1, ricky rodriguez, patrick wong

The Best Pho Restaurants in San Francisco, Oakland, and Beyond | Eater SF

"This longtime Tenderloin favorite is a neighborhood staple for its dark, flavorful Southern-style beef pho, but its most distinctive offering is probably the #26 pho kho — a dry-style beef pho that comes with all the fixings, but with the broth served on the side for sipping. And for those looking for a spicier, punchier Vietnamese noodle soup, Pho Tan Hoa is also one of a handful of spots in the city that serves a reputable bowl of bun bo Hue." - Paolo Bicchieri

Phở Tân Hòa - Review - Tenderloin - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"The menu at this Vietnamese spot is about as long as a list of your ex’s grievances, but focus on the phở section, especially the dặc biệt phở kho. The rich, smooth broth is served on the side, so it’s practically two excellent dishes in one. The long egg noodles come loaded up with peanuts, tendon, flank, brisket, tripe, and rare steak. Add some chili oil to the noodles and dip them in the broth—it’s a constant back-and-forth between slurping and scooping. Then get the creamy cà phê sữa đá sweetened with condensed milk for the perfect wake-me-up kick. Google
I was craving some pho, and found this place. We ordered the shrimps, and fresh salad rolls (4 rolls), the House special beef noodle soup, which came with well-done brisket, flank, tendon, tripe, beef balls, and slices of rare steak in a large bowl, and the BBQ beef, with granulated peanuts, and egg roll over vermicelli. The shrimp rolls were great, fresh shrimps, nice textured wrap, and they paired well with the peanut sauce! The pho was fragrant, served in a good portion, and the noodle texture was great! I like it! The vermicelli bowl was also a really good portion, and came loaded with a variety of ingredients on top of it. The only downside was the BBQ beef; it was way too salty and dry. *CASH ONLY

If you’re down for some authentic Pho, you’d disregard the aesthetic part of the resto. They have legit peanut sauce. It’s the real pho that touches the soul, coming here as a tourist it brought so many memories while I was in Vietnam and being served by grandma’s pho.

Google
2025 update. We came for lunch on a Wednesday. Plenty of seats. Their pho broth is #1 in the TL and hence been rewarded with the Jeff H. Best Pho in the TL Award 2025. It is a flavorful broth that just brings it. The cashier lady/waitress is pure Vietnamese. We had their 2x #7 Pho Xe Lua Tan Hoa $17.60, #6 Bo Tai Chanh (beef carpaccio) $19.17 and #35 Mi Trieu Chau (dry) $16.80 soup on the side. Everything tasted authentic. Great job everyone at Pho Tan Hoa. Cons: There's no dinner service at Pho Tan Hoa and they closed at 3pm. The neighborhood is still the same. Watch where you walk if you have nice shoes on. We used to come to the TL and eat a lot back in the early 2000's so it doesn't bother me. Updated review 9/2/2022. I'm upgrading Pho Tan Hoa to my favorite pho restaurant in the TL. The other place on Larkin, TT went down hill. We had the #7 house special pho $16.50 large, #35 mi trieu chau (dry egg noodles) $14.50 medium and bo tai chanh (beef carpaccio) $18. Pho Tan Hoa is well worth the trek into the TL. The broth, meat, quality of the noodles, service are all excellent. Note, the weird people in the TL are worst now in 2022 than 2021. This was at noon on a Friday. Indoor dining 5/23/2021. Very good noodles here. Today I had the #35 trieu chau (sometimes written as chao zhou or teochew) dry noodles with soup on the side. (Be sure to order it dry). It came with chicken, fish ball, fish cake, crushed peanuts, pork and shrimp. These types of dry noodles are great if you want to mix things up and if you are used to eating noodles in soup. From the clientele dining near me, all I heard, in their native language, was how great their noodles were. This speaks volumes as they probably know their southeastern Asian noodles more than I do. I would have to agree with them that my dry noodles were pretty darn good as well. My meal today with a traditional Vietnamese ice coffee was $22 with tax and tip. One note, this restaurant is located in the heart of the Tenderloin district. There were at least three people passed out on the sidewalk. Look where you step if you value your shoes and carpet in your car. Inside the restaurant is clean, but the outside... Man, it has gotten so much worst in 2021.

Google
Highly recommended for great Vietnamese food. We stop here on every trip to SF. The restaurant is not fancy and the neighborhood not high end but the food is fantastic. Very large portions and great taste. The staff are very friendly and attentive.

Google
A hole in the wall pho restaurant in Union Square. Don’t get fool by this simple bowl of pho - it is absolutely delicious. The both was rich with essence of simmered bones and umami perfection from the bone marrow fat, which you don’t get from most pho restaurants. Price is more than reasonable for this perfected bowl of comfort and indulgence, home away from home.

Google
Great eats, cheap food, not so good area in the Tenderloin in San Francisco. Just keeping it real. 😋👍🏼😬

Google
Raves: The pho was delicious, and so was that pork chop. Lemonade was good. Large selection on the menu. Fast service. Areas of Opportunity: The cafe sua da was not well balanced and didn't taste like the normal type of coffee grounds used. Something seemed off with the flavor. They used lemon instead of lime for the pho, which I had never seen before of all the places I've ever had pho. Maybe it's a regional thing? Not the cleanest establishment, the tower of spoons had stuff dripped all over them. Notes: walking here was sketchy and make sure you pay in cash!

Yelp
The food was authentic and delicious. The soup was served piping hot and there was plenty of meat. The server was friendly and attentive. Would come back again.

Yelp
Another TL food gem for those serious about good eats! Don't let the streets scare you off, Pho Tan Hoa serves up some of the BEST dry pho in the Bay, especially when it is something that is pretty hard to find nowadays. Really unassuming store front on Jones street, once you're inside the restaurant it is very clean. Make sure to bring CASH since they are cash only. Ordered their #35 wide egg noodles dry and the noodles came relatively quickly. Really great flavors from the sauce that's already mixed in with the egg noodles, lots of good toppings, and the side broth is delicious. Their bun bo hue is great too but I love their dry pho here more. Strong and great vietnamese coffee. Owner lady is sweet and friendly. TL really has a lot of great food gems, just make sure to bring CASH and stay alert when you're on the streets.

Yelp
One, of my favorite pho places in SF. Although Pho Tan Hoa is in the Tenderloin, it is must-try place. Whenever I get pho cravings, Pho Tan Hoa always satisfies! Their food is more affordable and absolutely delicious. In terms of ambiance, sometimes they can be a little crowded on the weekends or during lunches, but their service is so fast. I really like their #13 pho with rare steak and meatballs. The pho noodles are chewy and the broth is so good. If you haven't been here yet, highly recommend! Note: Cash Only

Yelp
I was in the mood for another bowl of pho today after my delicious bowl of pho last week at Miss Saigon. There must be another good bowl of pho somewhere nearby in downtown without having to go to SoMa (Miss Saigon), I thought. Nope, I still have to go to either Miss Saigon or Pho Huong Viet (Richmond district) for great bowls of pho because this place isn't. Pho Tan Hoa is neither bad or good, just average bowl of pho.

Harve M.

Yelp
Been coming to Pho Hoa for 20 years. Best Pho in the Tenderloin and you get a serious bowl. Only order Large if you don't on plan on eating again that day! Incredible value.

Yelp
Great food. Friendly service. The pho is freshly made. Vietnamese & Chinese style. Ambience also okay.

Yelp
One of my top 3 pho places in the city. Friendly people, quick service, and the place is big enough you almost never have to wait.

Zoyy R.

Yelp
The food was amazing, service was lightning speed, and the ambience was giving comfort. Felt like walking into your favorite aunt n uncle's home. Been coming to this spot since 2018 and the flavors have been consistently good. Ten outta ten imo.

Yelp
Unassuming but delicious Pho spot in the Tenderloin. Very reasonably priced for generously-sized bowls (you get to choose the size). Relatively quick for lunch, responsive service.

Yelp
This is not at the heart of Tenderloin. If you come from O'Farrell, you are ok. Take #38 bus get off Taylor walk half a block. It is not scary. Once inside, it is big. It was super fast once you order. #8 medium, no beef balls. #7 large had beef balls. I was very full with medium. Soup is flavorful. Complementary jasmine tea great tasting. Soup had enough meat but not enough tripe. Comes with chili, bean sprouts, lemon, not lime, basil leaves.

Yelp
There are very few restaurants in San Francisco where you could get a meal under $20. This is one of them. Of course this is just for a meal and a drink without appetizers. While the location of the restaurant may not be the best but I don't mind. The inside looks a lot nicer and surprisingly quite spacious. Thank goodness for dine in option and table service. Vietnamese pho without being able to dine in would be atrocious. I hate not having the option for a small bowl on pho đặc biệt (special pho) which only comes in a medium size. Only certain pho options come in small and large. I don't get the reasoning behind this at all as it doesn't not make any sense to me. The pho is good but I don't really know if it's the best pho in San Francisco or not as I have not been to other pho restaurants in town. The spring rolls are tasty as well. An order comes in 4 rolls and you don't have options for a smaller order which I don't understand either. I ended up eating all 4 rolls myself. Pho Tan Hoa is a good Vietnamese pho restaurant that's worth the money spent. It's very affordable but is mainly restricted by lack of size options such as being able to choose a small special pho or an order of 2 spring rolls instead of 4. For this reason, it gets a solid 4 stars.

Yelp
Went out partying all nite. Woke up in the morning with a bad hang over. Craving for some hot noodle soup that opens at 8 am. Pho tan hoa has been our spot for many years! Best kept secret in the heart of TL. Ordered the special, beef noodle soup comes with beans sprout and basil, jalapeños and limes. The time we place the order, to the time food arrived to our table was under 3 minutes or less. Made a table side dipping sauce with hoisin and siracha chili sauce. The fragrance from the soup, cinnamon, basil, star anise. My senses were awoken and alive! Beef tendons, briskets, steaks slice paper thin. Generous amount of beef and rice noodles. Sweat running down my fore head, nose running! Perfect day for hot soup! Hangover is gone!

Yelp
Let me just say straight up, the Pho was bomb!!! And the fried egg rolls were very tasty!! I enjoyed my experience dining at the restaurant. Now, the neighborhood is the neighborhood lol, you may witness some interesting activities. But once you get inside, it is spacious and comfortable. The customer service was excellent and attentive. THEY ONLY ACCEPT CASH! Be prepared for that. If you're eating alone, $30 is enough to get you soup, appetizer, and a drink.

Marissa A.

Yelp
I have pho very often being form SoCal and having a variety of options. Pho Tan Hoa has the best Pho Ga (chicken) I've ever had! I usually have beef pho, but I wanted to gamble with chicken and I'm glad I did. Service was quick and fast! they were very polite. ambiance is nothing fancy, but that's what you expect in an everyday authentic pho shop. If you don't have cash, you can zelle.

Yelp
Nice little pho place. It was perfect for I was so cold this am and wanted something warm to eat. The broth however was a bit sweeter than what I'm used to but the owners were very sweet and kind. I had a nice Thai tea which woke me up. I started with good summer rolls and then my beautiful warm pho came just in time. Clean, polite and I was full. So, I cannot complain. I just like my pho broth a bit saltier.

Yelp
Pho Tan Hoa Ratings: 4.4/5 Food: 5/5 - I'm glad we are trying out a new Vietnamese restaurant each week in the Tenderloins and found Pho Tan Hoa this week. This place surprised me with their dry pho dish, and it hits the spot on every level, so interesting and unique! Please see the description of the entrees we got, because you definitely do not want to miss out on this one. - Dac Biet Pho Kho [GET]: I got their famous dry pho at Pho Tan Hoa, and rare to find at most Pho places in SF. It comes with well-done brisket, flank, tendon, and rare slice of steak. Love the roasted peanuts garnished on the top. They provide a bowl of soup and chili dipping sauce on the side, but I prefer the latter because it added some acidity, spicy and that tangy kick to the dish. The noodles are surprisingly flavorful and well-seasoned. I think it is seasoned in soy sauce, cooking wine, sesame oil etc., so delicious and not heavy at all. - Pho Xe Lua Tan Hoa [GET]: The classic house special beef noodle soup with well-done brisket, flank, tendon, and rare slice of steak was solid and the meat are tender. They give you an abundant amount of meat and noodles. The beef broth is hearty, but is a bit bland and I wish it had more of a stronger beefy flavor to it. The broth that comes with the dry pho was a lot more flavorful. The noodle is cooked just right, not too soggy or hard. My boyfriend think its a good pho, but not the best we've had. Ambiance: 4/5 - There are so many homeless people in the neighborhood, probably the worst location I've been to in the Tenderloins. The interior is very clean, bright, and simple though, bathroom is better than I expected, and I love how spacious it is. The chopsticks, spoons, and saucer were clean as well. Great place for a causal lunch if you live in the area, but they do close early since they are in a sketchy area. Price: 4.25/5 - The large beef noodle soup bowl and the dry pho was both $14.85 before tax (recently increased their prices). The total came up to be around $38 after tax and tips for the both of us. Portions are huge and generous, bigger the other Pho places nearby. Great value still, and they only take CASH but there's an ATM machine available if you don't. Service: 4.25/5 - Service is what you expect at an Asian restaurant. The staffs here are fast and efficient. Our server come to our table, took our order, and the food comes out within like 10 minutes. They come once to fill your water glass, but after that they will leave you alone, which is great. The lady was super nice and explained to me the in and out of that dry pho dish, so I was convinced. It was an great experience. BLUF: Another authentic Viet place in the Tenderloins. There's a ton of options on the menu, and I would suggest coming to Pho Tan Hoa for the Dry Pho, definitely something worth trying. The prices here are higher than other places, but it was still good. I would skip on the regular beef pho, unless you like broth on the blander / lighter side.
google avatar

Chang A.

Yelp
Even though there were many homeless in the neighborhood, I felt safe going there during the daytime. The restaurant looks cute and simple. I ordered the dry pho with extra tai(rare steak) on the side. The meat was tender and I cooked it the way I like with the extra side of soup they gave. They even gave a separate dipping sauce when you order it like that. People love drinking simple iced tea in Saigon, Vietnam, and this place makes it the same way they do there! Good food and prices!( Only cash ,They have Atm inside the restaurant)

Yelp
chicken pho is overated. You get maybe a few grams of white meat and 1 strip of gizzard. The rest is just noodles and broth. basically just noodle and soup. wont be coming back
google avatar

Allen D.

Yelp
Solid pho place. Didn't disappoint. Recommend when you need a bowl of pho in the morning

Michelle D.

Yelp
This place is awesome; BEST PHO IN TOWN! I've been coming here since high school. The pho is off the hook and so are the rice plates. My husband and eldest son LOVE pho, and by far, this is their favorite place too. The staff is kind and the food comes out quickly. Portions and quality of meats are way better than what can be found in the Sunset & Richmond or Daly City & Pacifica districts. If they opened up a place in the areas mentioned above, they would give the other places a run for their money. Maybe not the safest area, but we have never run into any issues when we eat here. Highly recommend this place!
google avatar

Lina T.

Yelp
Favorite pho restaurant in the city! Owners are so nice and the broth is so rich and full of flavor. Definitely would recommend this place!
google avatar

Connie C.

Yelp
Great, meaty pho at 9am in the morning! Best hangover soup! I got the small Pho (perfect portion for a filling meal) and shared the spring rolls. Ambiance is no frills but fast (less than 5 min) and welcoming.
google avatar

Dawn C.

Yelp
Finally got a chance to come here after my friend declared this his "go-to" Vietnamese place in town. I tried the Pho with rare steak and beefballs (#13) - huge portions with generous helpings of meat! Rare in this environment. I'm not enough of a pho connoisseur to tell you that this is the BEST beef pho I've ever had, but it was a pretty solid bowl of noodles.

Alan R.

Yelp
Best pho I've ever had. I've eaten there ever since they opened over 20 years ago and every meal has been excellent. My family and I have had pretty much everything on the menu and we all love it. Highest recommendation!

Yelp
Had lunch there last week. It was still sparse since the pandemic is still with us here in San Francisco. They had hand sanitizer at the front table for guests to use. Some were wearing masks and some weren't, I did. Order my tried and true Pho Tai (Rare Beef noodle soup) and ordered the medium. Noticed that their portions, like everyone else's has slightly less than before. Was delicious as ever. Cannot wait for this Covid pandemic to subside.
google avatar

Helen W.

Yelp
I love pho, and I am extremely picky about my pho. This place though, hit the right spot on every level - broth, noodle, rare steak, meatballs. Everything I am picky about is done exactly how I like it. Service was fast and efficient. Your typical pho restaurant. Take your order, your food appears within 2 minutes, then never bother you again. Just how I like it too. I wish I knew it was cash only though. They let me pay by Venmo which is nice - otherwise I would have to stay behind and wash dishes.
google avatar

Devynne H.

Yelp
This is my fave pho in the city! Great portion sizes, most amazing broth, and fresh and delicious ingredients. I would go here every day if I could. I get the beef every time. The large is really large so be prepared. The regular or small (whichever they call it) is the perfect size if you don't want to have to take a nap after you eat.

Courtney W.

Yelp
The dry pho is what keeps me coming back for all these years. Friends I have taken there love it too

Tran T.

Yelp
Been here for years. Pho always hit the spot. Quick and clean service. The owners are the couple, super nice.

Yelp
Plan A for lunch was a fail. They were open. There were "customers" but they weren't serving food that day. Hmmmm yea.... Ok, Plan B? Yelp of course! But, I looked around and nope, not whipping out my phone in this area. My co-worker *points*: "What about Pho Tan Hoa?" It was the closest thing to Plan A so Pho Tan Hoa it is. As soon as we sat down, I whipped out my phone and was relieved to find that Pho Tan Hoa had good reviews. Most people either complained about the higher prices, the service, and/or the area. Pho Tan Hoa closes by 4 pm so perhaps their above average prices makes up for not being open for dinner? The owner is loud, brusque, but funny. This is the kinda place where the menus are thrown on the table and you best know what YOU want before even looking at them. The area is what it is. This isn't the Marina so stay vigilant. Like most Vietnamese places, the menu is extensive with Apps, Pho, Com, Bún, Hu Tieu, and Che. Most dishes are $10-$13. CASH ONLY. I've been on a Hu Tieu Nam Vang/Teochew noodle craze lately so I ordered the #35 Hu Tieu: Mì Trieu Châu - Egg Noodle Soup w/ pork, chicken, shrimp, fish ball, fish cake ($11.06): https://bit.ly/2H2qxK9. I requested it "dry" so the soup came on the side with a sweet & sour dipping sauce, and plate of bean sprouts, basil, jalapeno, and lemon. The Hu Tieu came out within 5 minutes and totally hit the spot. The thick egg noodles were delicously chewy and satisfying: https://bit.ly/2IEfF7F (my pet peeve is soft noodles). There was a good amount of boiled pork and chicken which was dry but the dipping sauce helped with that. The fish cake, fish ball, and shrimp (properly de-veined) were good. I rarely finish all my noodles but I killed the entire bowl because it was so good. Not the best, but for SF it was solid. The side soup was bad though, tasted like straight msg water. While the owner is brusque and no non-sense, the ladies working here are nice. They promptly brought out our food and kept out water glasses full which is all I expect from a hole-in-the-wall. Ample amount of seating and most customers were older Vietnamese folks or blue collared workers which is always a good sign. Parking sucks. We took a Lyft to the area. Overall, solid and filling Hu Tieu with fast service. Most definitely returning for their #26 Dry Pho with rare beef on the side for dipping! P.S. - Pho Tan Hoa's Health Score is 100!!!

Yelp
This place has unbelievable Pho. The only downside to this spot is it is so deep in the Tenderloin that it isn't exactly the safest location to get to, especially if it is at all dark out. But in terms of the actual restaurant - very no frills kind of spot. The pho is fresh, the broth is tasty, and there are tons of options to spice up your pho to the level that you'd like. I can't ask for much more. I got the medium chicken bowl and had to take more than half of the bowl home to-go, and it lasted me for a huge breakfast/hangover-cure the next morning as well. Will definitely be back next time I visit SF! Pros: Pho Size of bowls Broth Options for spice Cons: Location

Yelp
I'm living in just 2 blocks away, and was surprised when I came there at the first time. Pho Bo is amazing, broth is delicious, clean inside. Now I'm here for the second time and waiting for rice with chicken. 5 stars.

Yelp
Decent pho, would definitely come back. Im very picky when it comes to pho but its broth is pretty deep and yummy. Eggrolls had someone else's eyelash fried up together unfortunately :(

Yelp
I literally come here every week, best pho in SF. The area is so sketchy and scary, but once you get into the restaurant it's really clean. The lady worked there is nice. Their Pho is unique and have many different types of beef. Overall you should come here.

Yelp
Always come here for lunch when in SF. Have liked everything, which is more than I can say for the Slanted Door. They do close early and only cash. The portions are large and everything tastes fresh. They are efficient and friendly. Today I had #46. Chicken and vegetables over noodles. Have been more than a dozen times have tried most items on the menu. Was dieting and had #46 several times. It had been a while since I had been in. I walked in and the man that always greets you yelled,"Hello number 46!" I guess you want to go where they know your name or number

Yelp
There was a little rain and I made the decision to get some pho ga. I decided to try this place since it is the middle of the area of good pho places. Although the outdoor scenery is not for everyone but the inside is what counts. I had enjoyed the pho ha which was one of the top 5 I have tried in San Francisco. I will be back for the other dishes.

Yelp
A crisp day calls for pho! It's my unofficial rule and Pho Tan Hao hit the spot! Veering closely into hangry, we ordered their rare beef pho and pork & shrimp spring rolls. Spring rolls we're everything I wanted and came with a large bowl of peanut sauce. As for the beef pho... For $9.99, it's a buck or two more than their neighbors, but they give you almost a half pound of beef. It was insane how much meat was provided! I had beef for literally every spoonful until I finished. Even then I had to start skipping the noodles just to finish the meat! I was very impressed! *Cash only

Yelp
This is one of the great Vietnamese restaurants in San Francisco. It's uneasy and I was nervous to walk through the neighborhood, but once I was inside the restaurant, I felt safe and comfortable. Food is good, reasonable price, and service is very attentive.

Yelp
Mediocre pho located in the bad part of town. Granted it did help with my hangover a little, but the soup was rather blend. They give you abundant amount of meat, that should be a good thing but I actually wished there were more noodles than the meat. Also got the spring roll with shrimp, which again was underwhelming. Probably won't be coming back anytime soon.

Yelp
Moving from LA, where there were plenty of great pho options in Korea Town and the San Gabriel Valley, I was eager to find a solid pho option nearby. So when I stumbled across Pho Tan Hoa on Yelp, I was more than happy to give it a try. It is located near Union Square and market street, so it is pretty convenient to get to. But it is in the Tenderloin, so definitely watch where you are stepping as you walk there. It is closed on Thursday and on the other days, it closes quite early (around 3 pm I believe), so it isn't really an option for dinner. But if you're in the city during the week or if you have free time on the weekend, it is worth a try. It is a busy restaurant, but not overflowing -- I don't think I've ever needed to wait for a table. The waiter is very enthusiastic and is always entertaining to speak with. I usually get a simple Pho Tai, which is the pho with rare steak. As usual, it is served with beansprouts and jalapeños, and there are sriracha bottles and spices on the tables as well. Compared to some other pho places I have visited in SF, their broth is definitely richer and more savory, which makes Pho Tan Hoa one of my go-to spots in SF. It is all relatively reasonable priced (for SF), so it also won't break your bank.

Yelp
For when you need that bowl of hot soup on a rainy day (even for breakfast). The people who run this place are so down to earth. Great quick service, spending even 20 mins here slurping a bowl of noodles feels like an amazing reprieve from the world - and you leave with a belly full of warmth

Yelp
My favorite pho ga place of all times and it comes with young egg! I love that they use young brown chicken for their pho cause you can totally taste the quality and texture as it's different from some other pho joints that use regular chicken breast. I don't eat here as often as I use too, cause dammmmmnnnn their dishes are just getting more expensive. Even for a chow fun dish it cost damn near $16 now. I mean, I'm willing to pay for good food, but dammmmmnnnn! Lol

Yelp
This place , it was the many first of the restaurant I went when I was first moved to the Bay Area. Just walk down the street a bit from where I live. Even though the tenderloin area is not the best place to walk around but there are many good restaurants in that area ( mostly Asian food ) this place of course, it might not be as nice as other restaurant but the food is sure good!!! I come to this place many times because of the beef noodle, PHO . The price is not bad at all and the amount of food is good. 1 bowls of it for 8$ is great deal for me. A bowl of noodle for me , the most important is the broth, it's the first thing that I would taste before I start eat the noodle. So, if the broth taste good then that's a 3 stars for me already the noodle was good , the meat and beef balls also good !!! This place is decent for it food , so if you like pho and have a chance to come to tenderloin. I recommend you to come to pho tan hoa, PHOeverrrr

Yelp
People with fish allergies should stay away from this restaurant. My friend and I had a very scary and disappointing experience here. My friend has a severe fish and shellfish allergy. So much so that she carries an Epipen. When the owner took our order, my friend explained clearly that she cannot have any food with fish or shellfish because she has a severe allergy. She asked the owner if she could get the BBQ Pork and Vermacelli with no fish sauce. He said that was fine for her. The food arrives and she takes one bite. Uh oh. She can smell the fish sauce on the BBQ Pork. We flag down the waitress and ask if the pork has any fish or clam sauce. The waitress says, "Yes, to cook pork". I throw down a $20 bill for my food, which I have barely started. She asks the waitress, *as* she is injecting the Epipen how much her meal is. The waitress says $14. I say, "Your kidding." Then the waitress says, "Okay. $10". So I put down $10 for her as well and we got out of there fast. Just in case we went up the street to St. Francis and sat in the car out front for about 1 hour to make sure her allergic reaction didn't advance. So they charge $10 to make a mistake here with ingredients that could kill someone. Very disappointing. My food was good, though, so two stars.
