12 Must-Try Restaurants in the Burgeoning Santa Clarita Valley | Eater LA

"When Angie Caruso’s family opened their upscale Sicilian-style eatery off Bouquet Junction in May 2021, fans loyal to their humbler Canyon Country outpost Piccola Trattoria were understandably skeptical. But one meal at the Osteria is enough to quell any such concerns. Found here is the best “pizze” in the valley, an eggplant and salted ricotta-topped masterpiece named Norma, along with white balsamic mint-glazed lamb chops and several undeniable Trattoria classics for those nostalgic for Caruso’s home-grown pasta recipes." - Sean L. There’s nothing like freshly made pasta! This is a nice restaurant for a special occasion. It’s a nice looking, high ceiling restaurant with a casual ambiance. Lasagna and Shrimp & Scallop Ravioli were excellent! Caprese Salad was above average. Unfortunately, the Fried Calamari was average, kind of bland. They should try to improve it. Service was excellent! I recommend.

Google
By far, this is my Favorite Italian restaurant. I have been here many times and I think only once, I didn't like the Lasagna but every other time, the food is delicious and tasty. Their Old Fashion drink is one of my Favorites. The price is reasonable. Restaurant is always clean. Staff is always super nice. Top Sirloin was exquisite and tender

Tough call between 3 and 4 stars. Piccolo Osteria in Valencia has a nice ambiance that immediately catches your attention. The place is fresh, clean, and new, featuring a large bar and around 50 tables inside. As soon as I walked in, I was impressed by the modern and inviting atmosphere. The hosting staff were welcoming and friendly, making a good first impression. However, our experience with the waitress was less than ideal. She seemed to rush us through our meal, pushing for food orders too quickly, which made the dining experience feel a bit hurried. As for the food, it was good but not outstanding. I had the salmon, which was prepared well, but it felt like something I could easily make at home. My wife's angel hair pasta was in the same category—decent but nothing extraordinary. Overall, Piccolo Osteria offers a pleasant dining environment and decent food, but it didn't leave me particularly impressed. It was a nice experience, but not one that I'd rave about.

The truffle pasta special from 12/22 was the most insane meal I’ve ever tasted. It was truly unlike anything else, the taste was so strong and fulfilling!!! My fiance and I still talk about it. I’ll be trying to recreate for the rest of my life!! The decor was modern and clean. Great service as well. We had 3 courses and we constantly had clean plates and cutlery

This place was amazing. We had a great time. The food was awesome, our server was excellent, the vibes were great, and the whole environment was amazing. We tried the pizza, we had pumpkin tortellini, we also had risotto and some eggplant in appetizer which was awesome.

Google
I recently had the pleasure of dining at your establishment and wanted to share some feedback on my experience. While there were certain aspects of the meal that were enjoyable, there are several areas that I believe require improvement. Starting with the steak, I found it to be quite disappointing. The meat quality was subpar, resembling a semi-boiled piece with no discernible aroma. It seemed as though the chef may not have had experience with a well-prepared steak. I would recommend exploring the methods used by the chefs at Bourbon Steak or those trained under Gordon Ramsay to truly understand what makes a great steak. The fish was another letdown. It was overcooked and lacked any aroma. The spices were merely sprinkled on the surface, leaving the inside a bland, mushy mass. This imbalance in flavor and texture suggests a need for better seasoning techniques and an understanding of proper cooking times. On a more positive note, the grilled vegetables were acceptable, though not outstanding. The Caesar salad, however, had an overbearing amount of onion powder which detracted from the overall taste. The Caprese salad was merely passable; the mozzarella was of low quality and the tomatoes had an unnatural, plastic-like taste. The Margherita pizza was particularly disappointing. It did not resemble a traditional Margherita pizza, tasting more like tomato paste on bread with poor-quality cheese. This dish needs significant improvement to meet the expectations of those familiar with authentic Italian cuisine. However, I would like to commend the quality of the fresh bread. It was fantastic and provided a delightful start to the meal. Overall, my dining experience at Piccola Osteria was mixed. While there were some enjoyable elements, many dishes fell short of expectations. I encourage your team to invest time in learning and perfecting authentic recipes to avoid presenting what might be perceived as counterfeit plates. Thank you for your attention to this feedback. I hope to return in the future to see improvements and enjoy the potential that Piccola Osteria has to offer.

Italian food is kind of our go-to when we want to feel indulgent. Piccola Osteria fit this bill for date night and we were super happy with our experience and the food. We've also been to their other location and appreciated the more modern feel to this spot (and we actually liked the food better too. We started with the soup of the day which was a Maize Corn Soup...this was truly fantastic in flavor and texture. A corn based soup done exactly right. I had the Spinach Ravioli which came with a generous portion on the plate, topped with tomato sauce and I was absolutely not hungry after finishing it. My wife and I also shared the Allegra salad...it was beautifully presented (actually everything was really well plated which allowed the feast to start with our eyes before we even picked up our forks.) I think there was a newer staff member helping so our bread came kind of later than we wanted but it was worth the wait...house made and delicious with the oil and balsamic it was served with (just like back in the motherland.) We'd definitely come back here. The atmosphere was to our taste (again over the more traditional feel of their other location), the food was beautiful and delicious, and, as vegetarians, we had plenty to choose from.

Yelp
Let me start by saying we went on the Saturday night before Mother's Day. We had reservations for outside. It was definitely busy, but very service oriented. There were four of us in our party. We started out with Rosalina cocktail and two Aperol Spritz cocktails, as well as the meat and cheese, charcuterie and calamari fritto. The charcuterie board (Tagliere) said it was for two and it easily fed four. The assortment of cheeses and meats, figs, nuts, and olives were delicious. Dinner comes with a plentiful basket of bread and all the condiments. We also had their cauliflower zuppe. And for main courses, we had the Chilean Sea bass in a saffron cream sauce. It came with whipped potatoes, so many delicious, roasted vegetable assortment, and greens,. We also ordered the spinach, asparagus and peas risotto, the pumpkin tortelloni, and the fettuccine with shrimp and artichoke hearts topped with truffle oil. The food was impeccable. The fresh pasta was like no other. Everything was delicious. For being a busy night everybody was so attentive and pleasant and we ended the evening with tiramisu and a warm blackberry cake with vanilla bean ice cream. Make sure you make reservations. The inside is really nice and the patio is really not an outside experience. Everyone at the bar seemed to be having a good time. The restrooms are clean and there's a lot of easy parking. This is definitely a higher end type eating experience and the prices reflect the quality of food, ambience and service. We will definitely be back for another special occasion in the future.

Yelp
This is our favorite restaurant in Santa Clarita!! No need to travel far for a good Italian restaurant! Food is always delicious, each course is served right, and the restaurant ambience is very nice. The wait staff are friendly and attentive. We've been to the restaurant at least 5-6 times already, always taking more and more friends with us each time we go. No one is ever disappointed! I highly recommend it. We always look forward to going back!

Yelp
We had a wonderful time celebrating my wife's birthday at Piccola Osteria. The restaurant felt very comfortable and cozy to me and the food was very good. We had the Calamari Fritti, Caprese Salad, and the Special Granata Salad, to start. The calamari was very tasty. My son brought to my attention that there was no tentacles included in the dish. I can only think that it may not be proper to serve tentacles at certain level of cuisine. The arugula salad was refreshing and was not too peppery. The salad had just to right amount of tang from the lemon dressing to really mix well with the sweetness of the pomegranate seeds and the pancetta. The Caprese was good, but I reallylove a little fresh salt and pepper to give it a little bite and salty crunch to the texture. For entres, we ordered: Short Rib Tortelloni Rigatoni Salsiccia Scallopine Pollo Spaghetti with Meatballs All were delicious and very rich. We needed boxes to bring home leftovers that we will eat for lunch. I ordered the Rigatoni Salsiccia. It was very delicious, but very rich. I ordered it on recommendation from our waiter, Hunter. It was a hit! The truffle oil and truffles in the sauce made the pasta so flavorful. I commented right away to my wife how good it was. The rigatoni was cooked perfectly and the sauce and pork held onto it with every bite. It this may be one of my favorites now. We have been going to Piccola Trattoria for years for special occasions and I personally think it is not only the best Italian restaurant in SCV, but one of the best in LA. Now that we have finally made it to Piccola Trattoria, we have two great tasting, upscale Italian restaurants to choose from when we want an Italian meal. Thank you Hunter for your service, suggestions, and attention. Thank you Piccola Osteria for a very pleasant birthday meal for my wife and family.

Yelp
Highly recommend! Came with my husband and we loved everything! Drinks were made very well, staff were very professional and friendly. We had the lamb, one of the specials which was pasta with shrimp and mango, and my husband had their creamy pasta with sausage (I forgot what the dishes were called unfortunately) To drink we had a martini and the hibiscus spritzer. The inside is beautiful decorated and the seating was perfectly spaced out.

Yelp
First time visitor last night and left full and happy. Came with some family that live in the area and love this place. The staff was so kind and attentive, constantly checking in and stopping by to say hello. I opted for the Rosellina to drink and the shrimp and scallop ravioli. It was so hard to decide because so many things sounded good but both were delicious! They were packed but still prompt with bringing drinks and food out. To end the night we ordered both the tiramisu and chocolate lava cake. The two were outstanding! Overall the restaurant was great and seems to be very popular! The food and drinks- delicious! Ample parking in the shared plaza parking. Ambiance is warm and make for a great date night or family get together. Most definitely want to come back again!

Yelp
Well this place continues to crank out wonderful food with excellent service to top it off. All I can say to you as a Yelper is, if you're researching Piccola Osteria, It's a must try, It's a great date place, great for groups and kid friendly and has a full bar. You'll enjoy the food and the service no doubt.

Yelp
We never had a bad experience when dining here. The ambience, staff, and food are really top notch. I had the salmon for the first time. It was perfectly cooked. The mash potato was so creamy and veggies were perfect. Spinach ravioli equally flavorful.

Wonderful food, service, and atmosphere. We love the Caesar, zucchini & calamari, lasagna, and carbonara. You can't go wrong.

Yelp
My husband and I went tonight to celebrate Valentine's Day. We were promptly seated and offered bread and water. Our server quickly arrived and took our drink orders. My husband had the cucumber martini, and I had the Angelina which was a delicious blend of citron, violette liquor, blueberries and lemon. We started with the Barbabietole, a lovely blend of spinach, beets, goat cheese, onions, and pine nuts. I very quickly finished my half! Then I had the farfalle e gamberi, full of shrimp, with a lively vodka sauce. My husband had the risotto special. We both polished the dishes off! We finished with the Tagliata di Bue. The hanger steak was cooked perfectly. The only drawback was I felt the arugula and lemon dressing together just made bitter on bitter but that might just be me. Overall, we were very satisfied and stuffed!

Gregory S.

Yelp
I really wanted to say I like it as much as the related Piccola Trattoria. But I can't. The food was ok. Not bad, but definitely not the "wow factor" of Trattoria. The tables are VERY close together and even the servers have difficulty getting between tables we saw! Speaking of servers, ours was either extremely attentive or pushy to get us in and out...let's say I will err on the side of attentive to be polite. But we were meeting friends and wanted a slow dinner to catch up and converse. This is NOT the place to go for that kind of meal. Not only because of the service, but the noise level is extremely high as well (there are sound absorption devices that would definitely help this place!). So we learned, and will just stay with Trattoria for a better meal and experience.

Yelp
Piccola's food is sensational. The ambiance is upscale chill. The service is phenomenal, especially behind the bar. We've made this joint our local neighborhood hangout. Many times my wife and I think about trying other places, but in the end, we wind up at Piccola Osteria anyway, because from cocktails to dessert, this place is off the hook. If you love risotto, you'll be in heaven. Also, the salted caramel gelato is an amazing ender.

The food and service were great!!! Delicious! Will try dessert next time I go! Nice ambiance as well on a Saturday night.

Yelp
Came in for dinner with friends, made a reservation 2 weeks ago on line and the process is flawless, they even text you a couple of days in advance to remind you and the day before to allow you to confirm or change. We settled in at a nice table and as usual the service is impeccable, drinks, bread, oil and vinegar to start. We ordered (2) caprese salads for the 4 of us and they had the forethought to split it on to (4) plates, it was great as always. I ordered the short rib tortellini, one of my faves from here, my wife got her usual pompadero, our friends got chick parm w/ fettuccine and the pescadero (seafood) spaghetti. We ate, talked and really enjoyed ourselves. It's simply the best. They have expanded since we were last in and the place was still full, I shut as to how really great it is. Ciao, until next time.

Yelp
Amazing across the board. We came with our partners in crime and loved it! Clean, comfortable and very easy to converse. Intro of fresh, warm bread with olive oil and Parmesan cheese. Relaxed service. Our server was the wonderful HUNTER, who guided us and made us feel like valued regulars. Thank you Hunter! Ordered a Caesar Salad for the table to start with Eggplant Parm appetizer. Both delicious. I had a special: Pesto Risotto with grilled shrimp. As light as a feather. Yum. My lady love had Shrimp and bow ties with Marinara. She loved it. Our friends had Linguini and clams; and Pasta Bolognese. Loved them. Portions were large enough for each of us to being home a light lunch portion for tomorrow. Our coffees were hot and tasty, and the Pistachio Tartufo (with four spoons) really hit the spot. As former New Yorkers, we can't recall an Italian restaurant at which we had a finer meal.

Yelp
More like 3.5. Located in a shopping mall adjacent to a residential Santa Clarita neighborhood, this restaurant is OK but could be better. Although ingredients are fresh and portions are generous the food itself is nothing memorable, and flavors are lacking. The beef carpaccio was stingy on the beef and more of an arugula salad than anything else. The flavor profile was kind of missing, which is too bad. Same thing for the short rib ravioli, which looked great but again, tasted ordinary. I'm not sure if the kitchen had an off day, or flavors have been dialed down to appease the customers, many for whom I suspect eating at a place like this is an "adventure" of sorts. Given that, they've got guts for putting a dish with raw beef on the menu. Hmmm... The olive oil and balsamic at the table are a nice touch, and they also give you Parm so you can dress up the warm bread, which is pretty good. The wine list is pretty considerable and varied, and wine pours by the glass are generous; might be better to go by the glass than buying a bottle. They also have a full bar with a variety of specialty cocktails available. Service was extremely attentive and courteous, and the room has a nice vibe; it reminds me of Francesca's in Temecula but the latter's food is way, way better. My aunt & uncle live near here and I usually stop for wine at the Grocery Outlet so my curiosity was piqued as to what a restaurant like this was doing in an area dominated by chain establishments so we gave it a shot. They're to be commended for having the moxie to do business in an area like this but I really wish the food was better.

Yelp
The food is subpar and overpriced. I ordered a cheese pizza for my 5 year old from the kids menu and they brought her a regular sized pizza and I got charged for the regular size. Why would you bring a big ass pizza to a 5 year old? I told them I just wanted water but they asked if I wanted it sparkling as if it was complimentary so I said yes and I got charged $6 for a sparkling water. I can't speak for the rest of my party, though they looked pretty unimpressed but the pasta dish I ordered sucked. The restaurant is packed with tables and is very crowded and we felt rushed out of there. I want my money back!!!!
google avatar

Austin B.

Yelp
The food was good, but unfortunately, our experience was terrible. Shortly after being served our dinner entrees, a busser came over with to-go boxes and started packing up our meal while we were still eating. We had never asked our server for to-go boxes or indicated that we were finished. It wasn't close to closing time, the restaurant wasn't very busy, and there were plenty of open tables on the patio where we were dining. To make matters worse, the busser had a cut on his hand and bled on our food and the to-go boxes, rendering the rest of our meal inedible.

Yelp
Great Italian restaurant in Canyon Country. On Fridays and weekends I recommend making a reservation in advance. All their pastas are great but my favorite was the Rigatoni Salsiccia. It had italian sausage, mushrooms, and black truffle. Creamy, rich, and packed with that mushroom-y flavor. The short-rib raviolis were also packed with juicy beef. The service is quick and efficient. Theres bar seating as well if you do not want to wait for a table. Their cocktail menu was solid. I tried the espresso martini and I was totally impressed by the coffee flavor. Would definitely recommend this as an local, intimate dinner spot.

Yelp
Since this place opened here in Santa Clarita we have been wanting to try it and today for my partner's bday we finally did. The food was on point. We ordered a rib eye steak which was juicy and buttery, the salmon was very well done, the spaghetti al pescatore was great as well. Everyone at the restaurant was friendly. Our waiter and was attentive and fast. He made my partner feel special on her bday. Finished plates were always removed promptly and people even had a sense of humor which is nice. The restaurant's ambience was comfortable , casual, and pleasant. Premises were kept clean. We are already thinking of what to order the next time we go.

Yelp
Ate here with some colleagues for dinner to explore the out skirts of Santa Clarita. The Italian food here was AMAZING. The drinks were very well crafted and not watered down. Our order consisted of the meatball, Beef Carpaccio, Vangole, Calamari, and Diavola for appetizers. The meatball was very flavorful and had the right amount of sauce. I tried Beef Carpaccio for the first time and it was amazing (Don't let the raw beef scare you as it is treated like ceviche!) The Vangole was amazing - this is coming from someone who doesn't typically eat clams and mussels but these are a must try. I would use the bread to dip in the sauce! Calamari was breaded just right. Now the pizza they have (Diavola) is getting its own portion here as I have never had a thin crust pizza like this. The crust was incredibly crispy AND NOT BURNT. There was plenty of flavor and the right amount of the spice with the spicy Salami! For dinner, which I could not really eat anymore, I had the Rigatoni Salsiccia. The truffle was not overwhelming, pasta was cooked to perfection, and the vegetable/meat portion was just right. If this was LA, I would come here every week. The staff is very kind, the food was very fast and tasty, and I felt at home the entire time. Per my colleague, this place can get packed quickly!

Kevin E.

Yelp
Went for my wife's bday (5/7/24). Had the calamari appetizer and a Caesar salad. Very good. Wife ordered the clams and linguini, and it was great as always. I ordered the spinach ravioli. Not a huge and not a small portion. Assuming you have an appetizer, salad and or the bread, it's a perfect portion size. Daughter had the Farfelle (sp?). She said it was excellent. Dessert was the blackberry tart. Very tasty. Sorry, pics of the clams and ravioli are halfway thru eating. And our waitress (Tracey), was excellent!!!

Yelp
Piccola Osteria became my new favorite Italian restaurant in SCV since the first time I tried it! The flavors are exceptional, and the beautiful ambiance makes every visit a delightful experience. Highly recommended for those seeking a taste of authentic Italian cuisine!
google avatar

David C.

Yelp
Piccola Osteria is good although I prefer the food at its sister restaurant, Piccola Trattoria. It is always busy so make a reservation through their website. The food is as close to Sicilian Italian as any place I have ever been with the exception of southern Italy. This newer location has better parking and atmosphere than Piccola Trattoria. The wait staff is excellent and attentive and the menu has a decent variety offering a wonderful sampling of various Italian dishes. Piccola Osteria isn't cheap but it is quite tasty. I must say I do miss the old deli that Angie and the gang had in the current Piccola Trattoria location. the sandwiches in particular were amazing. Note this is a dinner only restaurant. Great for a special occasion or date night. If lunch offerings were available, I would probably go much more.

Yelp
I really enjoyed my dine in experience. We celebrated my brother's birthday and have made reservation for 10. One of them being an 8yr old. The ambiance was very festive. We celebrated the evening of 12/17/2022 so Christmas tree was lit! Very quaint & cozy restaurant. Has a bar area with tv screens if you're into sports. The table where we were seated was comfortable. Plenty of elbow room. The food was awesome for SCV. Not too salty ( a plus). Portions are generous & perfect for sharing. They have their regular menu and then a daily menu only available for limited time only. I opted to order from the special menu and I had the Risotto con Fiori di Zucca e Gamberi. It's a creamy rice with squash blossoms, shrimp, garlic and EVO. It was nice but had better. Incould leave without dessert. I had a cuppa coffee with Panna Cotta. The coffee was very smooth. The Panna Cotta texture was jello like rather than creamy & fluffy. It wasn't bad, but not my fave. Not mad at it because I had a great time spending it with my family & seeing my bother happy on his day made me happy. I'll definitely be back. The BEST part about going out to dinner with a group is tasting what they ordered! We ordered Appetizers: Prosciutto e Burrara Calamari Fritti Caprese Other dishes I've tasted: Tortelloni Di Brasato Polpette Pasta Salsiccie E Funghi Pizza Desserts! I'm ALWAYS up for: Crostata di More - blackberry tart served warm w/ vanilla bean ice cream was my FAVE! Tiramisu- I don't usually like but these were lovely! Nice with out the annoying bitterness of rum but the nice light delicate flavors of espresso coffee, mascarpone cheese and lady fingers. Overall experience was awesome. Our server was more than attentive and the sweet gentleman that collected our used dishes was polite & asked if we were done before taking dishes away. I appreciated that!

Yelp
I'm giving this restaurant 5 stars for the Santa Clarita area. But is it the best Italian restaurant ever? I wouldn't say that but for Santa Clarita, this restaurant is the best in town!!! Food is good, service is good and drink is good. Nothing wrong with it. Every time I got pasta, it was delicious. I got Fettuccine con Finghi Porcini e Gamberi. (Fettuccine, shrimp, mushrooms, Arugula with garlic and olive oil sauce). Pasta cooked good, sauce was nice and light... seasoning right on! Salad was always fresh with good amount of dressing. This time I got holiday special salad , Insalata de Granata. It was Arugula salad with pancetta & goat cheese and lemony dressing. It had tart sweetness from fresh pomegranate seeds. It was light I got the Tagliere ...the meat & cheese board. Meat was all tasty... some cold cuts and preserved/cured meats..prosciutto and salami style and something similar to mortadella. Also has some figs, candied walnuts and olives. A little bit salty and good with drink. Speaking of drinks ...Drinks were lovely! I always get the Dorato. It's like a whiskey sour using Maker's Mark, Amaretto, honey syrup, lemon & rosemary. Employees are nice and friendly Nice and beautiful bar ( good selection of wines and whiskey) Plays good music!! Relaxing !! Big parking Gets crowded so make a reservation or come early

Yelp
We've been to Piccola Osteria multiple times, as well as Piccola Trattoria and the family's original local eatery, Caruso's (a hole in the wall Italian joint that we miss so much) many times, and we love the food that comes from their kitchens. Not gonna lie, this is our go to for celebration dinners...we love it. We sit on the patios (take note previous reviewer...no TVs on the patio) and enjoy the evening air while eating our meal. But this week was different... We didn't just go for a delicious meal, we went because the restaurant is on the list for SCV restaurant week, a new inclusive dining program in Santa Clarita, put on by local charity, feedSCV, that honors our locally, owned and locally run non-chain restaurants. And all of the restaurants were invited to create their own special menu just for the week and diners are encouraged to use those menus to try new things. My dining party did just that none of us had a main that we'd ever had before and were rewarded for trying something new. My wife had her favorite appetizer, Buratta E prosciutto, while I had the Insalata Osteria. The salad was super savory and filled with delicious meats and cheeses, as well as perfectly prepared Romain and a delicious vinaigrette. I was jealous of her appetizer, though, because that prosciutto looked so good. For mains, she had the gnocchi and marinara with a bed of mozzarella, baked to golden deliciousness, while I had one of their signature dishes and strangely enough, something I've never had before, the rigatoni salsiccia, which is rigatoni, mushrooms and ground sausage in a Parmesan sauce with truffle shavings. It was magnificent and not surprising. It is one of their most popular dishes. For dessert my wife had the tiramisu and I had the cannoli. Both super filling and delicious. It was a perfect way to end that meal. The dinner was part of a fixed price meal, appetizer, main and dessert for $55. It was worth every penny, and more. I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that we had several other diners at the table with us... Our friend Michael enjoyed the hanger steak, which was smothered in and herbaceous, Italian salsa and the panna cotta for dessert. He also had the prosciutto appetizer. And Ruby, my mother-in-law, ordered off special menu and had a delicious blended vegetable soup, and Spinach, ravioli. I will always go back... And now I am very much looking forward to trying other restaurants that are taking part in SCV restaurant week.

We typically go to the sister location but this place is just as good! We were here on a Thursday night with no reservations and they were able to seat us immediately. They have an enclosed patio that use to be completely outdoors. Their Beet and Spinach salad is so flavorful and refreshing! We devoured it so fast, I didn't even get a picture. The Seabass is always a sure it, and the bowtie pasta hit the spot. I ordered off the specials menu and was not disappointed with my risotto. Service was perfect and the food was delicious. They make one of my favorite Expresso Martinis! We will be back for sure!

Yelp
Have enjoyed 3-4 flawless experiences at Piccola Osteria. Food is great, service is stellar, bar is excellent, and terrific ambiance. Our new favorite restaurant in Santa Clarita.

Yelp
The food is fine, but the noise level is high. It's hard to carry on a conversation. Our family was gathered to celebrate a birthday at the still-sorta-new location off Plum Canyon.

Yelp
Good and service are outstanding. We've been twice and eaten something different each time. Well worth the money and they always come to check on you. Highly recommend!

Yelp
My wife, son and myself came here for the first time on Xmas Eve as we've been wanting to try it for a while given that we've already gone to Piccola Trattoria. The food here is exquisite! I ordered the Rigatoni Salsiccia and it was absolutely divine! I highly recommend this dish. You'll eat every bite! As for the other dishes, you can go wrong with a calamari to start, nice and crispy accompanied by a delicious red sauce for dipping. Service was good too. He was nice, patient, and full of life. Definitely coming back here.

Yelp
Went here for the first time for my mom's birthday dinner. Parking was super easy as it is in a shopping center. The inside is pretty plain more of a minimalist type of vibe which isn't traditional for Italian restaurants, however it still looked nice and clean. We arrived slightly early for our reservation and they still were able to seat us which was very nice. We would have waited if need be. We brought our own bottle and utilized the corkage fee which was perfect. We ordered caprese and burrata to start. Beautiful presentation on both and they tasted really fresh. My sister ordered the chicken parmesan with veggies instead of pasta. She really liked hers. My father got Linguini Vongole which he loved. My mom and I split the branzino with seasonal veggies on the side and spinach ravioli. Super delicious, however the fish had a ton of bones so be super careful when ordering the branzino. There was so much food and we definitely left super happy and full. We are also having my work holiday party here so I will be back.

Yelp
First time going for dinner with a friend. Ambiance was very nice, upscale service and superb food! Our waiter was great! He knew the menus and dinner options and was awesome with his recommendations! He was right... the Fettuccini Alfredo with truffles, done table-side was soo good and VERY generous with the truffles!! I will definitely be going back!

Yelp
Best Italian restaurant in SCV, and definitely a contender for best overall restaurant in town. Fresh everything, from pasta to truffle.

Yelp
Piccola Osteria is a good Italian place. Prices here are affordable for the quality of food. The service is impeccable. They always come around and ask you if you need anything. Came here on Christmas Eve and place was packed. And still, our server helped us whenever we needed him. Such a good place. Would highly recommend it!

Yelp
Superior restaurant with the best food, attentive service, and perfect ambiance. We come multiple times per month. It's wonderful to have a local high quality restaurant here in SCV,

Yelp
Piccola is one of my local favorites. It is a warm and inviting place that is super busy at times so mistakes happen with orders, but overall a great local place to take family that visit. Please continue to use fresh pasta when serving your customers. The calamari could be less rubbery, so a small change there too. Keep delivering a memorable dining experience.

Yelp
I went here for a galentines dinner with my girlfriends on a Saturday night. We had made reservations a week in advanced and the earliest we were able to book was 7:45. Well, we got there at 7:30 to see if maybe they can seat us a little early. Of course they couldn't, and of course our 7:45 reservations turned into a seating at 8:15. We expected it though since it was busy. Inside is very clean and nicely decorated. Our waiter was very informative and had a very fun personality. He was quick and attentive and his recommendations on the Angelina and Rosalina cocktails were spot on for the type of night we were having. I love their clams and mussels appetizer with the red spicy sauce. For me it wasn't too spicy, but I eat a lot of spicy food. It was a nice compliment to the shells and one of my gf's took the sauce home just so she could have it with something else. For my main dish I ordered the short ribs tortelloni and I'm very glad I did for my first try at this place. The sauce was so creamy and not heavy at all. The pasta was a perfect al dente and the meat inside just melted in my mouth. We enjoyed our night so much at this place and I definitely would want to come back just for that pasta!

Yelp
It was our first time visit and the vibe is a little loud compared to the other Piccola. To start off we ordered a glass of white wine, cocktail, and a salad which we split and it was just the right amount. The entrees took forever but the osso buco was worth it. The risotto was creamy good with just the right bite and the veal shank was fall apart tender. My wife ordered the breaded veal cutlet and it was a disaster. It was the worst she has ever had, dry and way overcooked. To close the night we split a sorbet with a little cake and berries that was nice and light. We will try it again but will stay away from the veal cutlet.

Yelp
Ordered take out for dinner tonight, we got the Rigatoni Salsiccia and Spaghetti Pescatora. Both dishes were delicious. Ambiance was nice, could be a casual date night spot. I would love to dine in next time my partner and I are free. Can't wait to try more dishes. Buon appetito!

Yelp
Best Italian food in Santa Clarita. I've tried about half the menu and I've never had a bad meal. The service has also been very good. Also the bread they give you at the table is freshly baked.

Yelp
Delicious food, great atmosphere, inexpensive with great service! Definitely will make this my go to for Italian food. Lasagna is sooo good, spaghetti with homemade meatballs fab! Desert, blackberry tart definitely a must!
