"One of my favorite slices is in Utah called Pie Hole. I was blown away. It’s like a Neapolitan style with an olive oil crust." - Crystal Coser

Quirky and very tasty. Love how late they are open. Each slice was around $4. Very generous in size. Lots of fun variants in flavors. 4 permanent “By the slice” flavors, 4 on daily rotation.

Google
The most unique and alternative pizza joint in Salt Lake City (maybe in Utah). The atmosphere is well maintained grunge. The staff know what their doing and have an attitude that matches the decor. These people know how to make pizza. Not a family restaurant. But cool dad's will take the teen crowd here for good New York style pizza served by the slice or the whole pizza.

Google
A slice shop packed with a ton of character. If SLC and looking for a slice you need to visit Pie Hole. The gentleman working the counter was super nice and service was fast. Will be back when in town.

Google
Such a cool spot in SLC! It’s right around a lot of activity spots like Eccles Theater and the Salt Lake Library, as well as being right off of Trax. Super cool atmosphere, they serve New-York style type pizza here that they heat up for you. Only thing was we were confused when our order was ready because the servers would shout things every now and then that we didn’t pick up, but the food was great! Would recommend this spot

It was nice that it was open really late Pretty interesting location but absolutely great pizza

Google
Full hole in the wall spot!! Very busy. Next to clubs and bars so it's a good place to grab a quick bite to eat with friends. Even though there are kinda rough crowds, there were still families there too so it's all inclusive. Been here several times, I love how late they stay open!! Busy, lively part of town but still safe

Google
Rock solid pizza joint, absolutely in the top 3 for SLC and the only one that's open late as hell. Crazy wait times late on Friday and Saturday nights, but it's almost the only thing you can find open with a ton of bars nearby, so just know when you're heading in and you'll be good. The food is great and would hold it's own against any shop in NY. Try the potato bacon, it's a signature for them and I always grab one whenever I'm in. They've got a constant rotation of unique slices every day that have some really funky options, so great for the adventurous eaters in your group. Slices are a bit expensive, but I've never felt like I got ripped off for it.

Google
This place is awesome; small but cool! The restaurant has a very purposeful grimy, punk rock vibe which I'm sure many find totally awesome 😎 I know I like it! And the pizza is the very best along with excellent and exuberant staff even when it's crazy busy. It's the best! 💯😁

Yelp
I consider Pie Hole a Salt Lake staple when it comes to late night bites, and have many fond memories throughout the years sharing slices with friends. Its divey essence and grungey interior makes it a prime pit stop for foodies who want a quick post-bar fixing, plastered with stickers and towering beer cans. Their rotating pizza menu includes classics like pepperoni and cheese, as well as new creations with various sauces and toppings. The pizza itself is good - a bit on the greasy side but it's pretty consistent and has great flavor. Being a dive-style pizza joint, you can expect straightforward, quick customer service and no fuss. It may not be the cleanest place, but Pie Hole stands its ground with its night-owl friendly hours and classic pie.

Yelp
First time at Pie Hole did not disappoint! All the pizzas looked delicious so we asked a few regular types what they'd recommend and they all said the potato-bacon. Wow! I never thought I'd like potatoes on pizza, but we all enjoyed it. Also tried a veggie combo thing, pepperoni, and a side salad. All were tasty. Sadly, no adult beverages were available, but our crew enjoyed the cream soda and sarsaparilla. The team working there were all helpful and the line moved quickly since they just have to briefly reheat each slice in their giant oven. We tried to call several times to ask about gluten-free options (there aren't any), and they never answered the phone. The interior is fun and funky, but didn't feel exactly ... clean, so you might want to leave your mom home for this one. I'd definitely go again, especially if we need a downtown late-night snack.

Alyssia N.

Yelp
New York style pizza that is super good! The actual restaurant is not super clean and the seating is not big but the food is good and the service is fast! If you are at the bars Nextdoor it is an easy place to grab some good pizza for cheap!

Alisha O.

Yelp
If you want a late night snack def go here! Great pizza! Extra crunchy and thin slice with cool toppings. Service was fast! I love hole in the wall places, they feel homey! Great first pizza experience in Utah!

Yelp
visiting SLC and wanted a late bite after a jazz game. found this place via yelp and was impressed. I could tell this was the place to be with the constant line building up even late. had a simple pepperoni and cheese slice and it was just enjoyable, every bite. they have daily specialty pizza's that they post on their instagram.

Jolene L.

Yelp
Convenient to downtown SLC food options, I came here to try a slice for lunch. At noon, the line was out the door. But don't let that discourage you, service is quick! I suppose thin crust pizza makes it faster to go through. Majority of their pizzas are ready and when you order by the slice, they heat it in their huge oven. You can also see an employee on the side making more pizzas to replenish the counter. The Birddog was tasty and big enough to hold me for lunch. The toppings were fresh and this wasn't salty. Glad I tried it!

Yara D.

Yelp
This is the second time we have pizza from this place. I don't understand why the rating is this low when the pizzas are SO good! This time we ordered the Pretty pretty princess pizza and garlic cheese sticks. Both were very good! I love their thin crispy crust and the generous toppings. The restaurant inside is pretty small, and it reminds me of NY style pizza places. They can get super busy sometimes which may cause waiting time to be long, and they also don't have restrooms inside which can be a bit inconvenient.

Yelp
Pie Hole is a slice of great vibes in Salt Lake City. Took off a star for grease (which is expected to a certain degree, but it was a lot even for me) and lack of parking, but overall taste and vibes were great. As far as I'm aware, there's really only street parking available, so it may get dicey. The restaurant is in a cool spot, a couple doors down from a bar and a tattoo shop and a Venezuelan place -- it didn't really even feel like Utah. I liked that we could get pizza by the slice. The service was quick on a Thursday night and the slices were a generous size. The pizza was already prepared and they threw it on a paper plate to reheat it, which was interesting. When we got our pizza, it was nice and hot, but quite greasy. Overall, a nice little weird oasis in Salt Lake City.

Juan V.

Yelp
I've only had NY pizza once and this reminded me of that. The crust was great and pizza was nice and oily just the way it should be.

Brianna B.

Yelp
Ordered though DoorDash because I've never tried before, most definitely is probably only good when high/drunk... was too greasy for my liking but the sauce on the pizza had a good flavor!

Lloyd C.

Yelp
Stumbled across this place while in Downtown Salt Lake City. Parking is hard to find, and no lot available. This is a hole in the wall joint but served some pretty good pizza. Their style is thin crust. Vegetarian Pesto: spinach, artichoke hearts, sun-dried tomatoes, & roasted garlic. Pesto makes this pizza super flavorful and healthy with all the vegetables! The dough was soft but chewy. The crust was crunchy like other reviewers had said.

alexia k.

Yelp
Average pizza. Nice try at a New York slice but not quite. Wish salt lake had better options

Abe M.

Yelp
Incredible pizza and very fast service. Highly recommend eating here. Great atmosphere as well.

Michael W.

Yelp
I walked into the pizza spot that a few of my friends recommended and it just felt like a favorite pair of old 501s. Comfortable and worn. The music was loud and eclectic. Rock, Blues, Country don't work as descriptors for the music... it was amazing but I digress. Let's talk about pizza. There were 6 different kinds of slices one pepperoni and one cheese, the rest would be classified as gourmet with a variety of pesto, red and more pesto. The root beer was good The pizza ... first bite of my slice was hot, the crust had a great bite. Not too thick and not too thin. When you pinched the edge the crust stayed firn. Without losing any of the toppings. There are plenty of sprinkle toppings like garlic powder, oregano, chili peppers flakes and several hot sauces. Overall this has had the best pizza since I moved here

Hilton M.

Yelp
Ordered the pretty pretty princess all meat pizza thin crust with a garden salad both very good but I'm biased I love pizza.

Patrick K.

Yelp
Still the best slice for 100 miles - always delivering a reliably greasy crunchy delicious slice of pizza at a decent price!

Brittney M.

Yelp
food quality: 5/5 service: 5/5 cleanliness: 5/5 value: 5/5 The Pie Hole is a classic staple for downtown Salt Lake. It has been a favorite late night pizza place for us for many years! The decor is eclectic and makes the restaurant feel like a hole in wall place, but that's what I love about it. The late night hours make it easy to grab a slice after the bar and pizza is constantly being made fresh. We got the: Potato Bacon - Potatoes, Bacon, Alfredo sauce - hands down, my favorite. Inka - pickles, roasted garlic, mozzarella, Alfredo sauce Delfia - Chorizo, onion, candied jalapeño, red sauce Staff was super nice and welcoming and I always look forward to going back.

Corey M.

Yelp
The pizza was amazing. It was exactly what I wanted. Price wasn't so bad considering what I wanted. I ordered out so I'm unaware of the service or ambiance but the delivery girl was such a nice sweet person. I was lost but she found me and got the food to me hot.

Carrie M.

Yelp
19" pizza is no joke, the box was huge! Fun flavors and toppings to try, love the artichoke hearts. 10:30pm on a Saturday was popping and the staff was small but handling the stress and getting people out the door. Tasted fresh and the garden salad was great for a late night pizza joint.

Hannah M.

Yelp
I've found it difficult to find good by-the-slice pizza spots in Salt Lake City, and I have to say Pie Hole hit the mark. I had the regular cheese slice, and while I think the crust could've been crispier (per my own preference) it was still delicious and had that light yet satisfyingly salty, cheesy quality. I also love all the tagging on the walls, it just creates a really fun, unique atmosphere.

Lauren B.

Yelp
Cool pies. Very unique pizzas. Even more unique atmosphere loved that. Very fun after a night at the surrounding bars.

AJ S.

Yelp
The only reason I'm ONLY giving it 4 stars is because some Yelp readers might find Pie Hole too edgy. It's definitely edgy with plenty of patrons and staff with ink and piercings and plugs, etc. Of course, as in many cases like this, the people who might look intimidating are super nice. Great service at the Pie Hole and great pizza PLUS they're open late and no problem going there with someone under 21 unlike a lot of other places that serve alcohol. If you want pizza and a beer with a side of attitude (in a good way) this is the place!

Morissa P.

Yelp
The pies are very good here and approach a New York style. They lose one star for calling it a 19 inch pizza when the box is 19 inches and the pizzas slides around inside. You can order online or in store but not on the phone, which is a bummer because their online system doesn't allow for half and half orders.

Daryll B.

Yelp
The pizza taste very good. Freshly made dough onsite, and well-seasoned old-school pizzeria ovens (not the ones that look like igloos, but the ones with four or five slots running on gas). They specialize in pizza by the slice and their own unique take on toppings and bases. I went simple with a slice of cheese and two slices of basil and roasted red pepper. The cheese was okay, not NY style thin but not thick. Could have used more sauce, but the crust was good. The actual cheese seemed to be mozzarella but was unremarkable, not bad but average. The roasted basil and red pepper was excellent. The crust was perfect and the basil brought out the flavor of the cheese more. The thin slices of red pepper were the perfect touch. I would return for that slice. Most people in line got pepperoni, but I do not eat meat so take this review with a grain of salt. Get extra pizza sauce on the side. Their sauce is so good. I wish they added more on the slices, but dipping the great crust in the sauce on the side was the best part. They ought to bottle, sell, and ship the sauce; I would order it to ship to D.C. To be over1000 miles away from NY and Philadelphia, this pizza reminded me of an east coast joint with a funky eccentric vibe. They have specialty pizza on the menu named after the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles which people ordered but were just too many flavors for me (yeah, I am basic). The pizzas for the slices were pre made and warmed to order. That usually adds some pizzazz as the flavors get a chance to marry. However, I wonder how much better the taste may have been if fresh? The prices are bargain-barrel averaging $3-$4.75 a slice. Whole pies are available. Delivery seemed to be available by DoorDash or other services. The wait was no more than a few minutes. The staff was affable and answered my questions. The place is opened late even on weekdays until 2:00 or 3:00 AM. It is not dirty but is like a funky divey joint that is made for a quick bite or carry out. Seating is tight with only four or five tables with four to six seats at each. They have an outdoor patio with a couple of tables but it is 105 degrees in Salt Lake City today so that is out of the question. Your kids would be happy with this pizza. Your adult tastebuds would also be thrilled. Great place with pretty good pizza. Four good stars. I will return when in Salt Lake City, Utah.

O'Zandra F.

Yelp
Interesting spot. There is pizza by the slice. Cheap beer is some by the can. Open late. Street parking available.

Jana A.

Yelp
Pizza was good, ordered 4 pizzas for delivery received 4 boxes but only 3 pizzas I have been trying to reach someone for the last hour and a half and no one answers the phone and no voicemail option.

Alexandra T.

Yelp
My absolute favorite by the slice spot in SLC! Their rotation of flavors is fabulous, and their classic flavor offerings are also of course equally delicious. I love that there is always something new to try every time I stop by! They are also located in the perfect spot, and open until the early hours, for a post bar hopping cheesy carb load. Their beer and soda selection also offers the perfect pairing for any slice. A Salt Lake City must try!

Jennifer W.

Yelp
Recently moved here from LA, where options for pizza, as with many other things, are endless, from places like Domino's to Pizzeria Mozza. Admittedly, I'm only about 2 months in, but this will be the place to beat for me here. Love the execution of the thin crust and the fun combinations of toppings here. Have tried the thai chicken and potato bacon, and both did not disappoint. Will be back to try other things on the menu! Also bonus points for fun box artwork!

Chantel H.

Yelp
Upon entering you're immediately greeted by the delightful aroma of freshly baked pizza. The interior has a cozy and rustic ambiance, with communal seating and vibrant artwork adorning the walls. The staff members are welcoming creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. They offer an impressive selection of handcrafted pizzas that are bursting with flavor. The crust strikes the perfect balance between crispy and chewy, providing a delightful foundation for the delectable toppings. From classic options like pepperoni and margharita to more adventurous choices like barbecue chicken and vegan options, the menu caters to a wide range of tastes and dietary preferences. Each slice is generously topped with high-quality ingredients, ensuring a satisfying and flavorful experience with every bite. What makes Pie Hole Pizza truly stand out is their commitment to creativity. They offer unique specialty pizzas that push the boundaries and take your taste buds on an exciting journey. The "Potato Bacon" pizza with its creamy garlic sauce, crispy bacon, and sliced potatoes is a heavenly delight that you simply can't resist. Vegetarian and vegan options are also available, with flavorful toppings that rival their meaty counterparts. In terms of pricing, Pie Hole Pizza offers great value for the quality and portion sizes. The slices are generous, and the prices are reasonable, making it an affordable and satisfying option for both individuals and groups. They usually stay open late on weekends so you can pop by for a slice of pizza after a night of drinking at your favorite bars. The line gets long but moves quickly. I am always blown away by their pizza, it's a spot I frequent VERY often.

Jorge T.

Yelp
Sorry, I usually don't rate below 3 stars but... The pizza is OK, if it's fresh is much better, reheated does not makes it better and they usually re-heat their slices, this is the perfect drunk snack after a bar, I do not drink but it was packed late night this is not why they got 3 stars, nothing is open in SLC for dining that late. The 3 stars are because the STAFF is always rude and stressed and they treat you like a hassle more than a customer, they need to chill-out a bit. I get that they are working hard but it does not help if they treat customers with bad attitude, remember customer service gives stars too. This is not to bash you out I am glad there is still a place open late but that has to change, and I am a restaurant owner and understand employees and their mood and their stress because I've been there but trust me, if you change, everything around you will change it it will make it easier for you. Sorry about this review but I felt compelled to say something.

Daniel M.

Yelp
Good spot for a drunken night out, their pizza is so so good especially their vegan one called "trixie" and I'm a meat eater! I tried their potato and bacon one and roasted red bell pepper one as well and all amazing. Their thin crust is so crispy. The service is quick, get in and get out at around 8pm, later on the night there was a long line. Overall not a bad spot for a couple beers and slices.

Ioana L.

Yelp
Made an order online for pick up. Ordered the pretty pretty princess. It took about 25 minutes. There was quite a line when I got there to pick up. Mind you this around 11pm. The pizza was great. Had with a side of ranch. If you are looking for late night eats come check this place out when you are in DT.

Dan T.

Yelp
Two times in a row, impossible to place order. Phone message directs you to their website, when checking out with your cc info the website never sends a confirmation or receipt, just hangs forever. Try again with different pay method and same thing. I hit 'confirm and pay' yet again and website does nothing. Call again and they hang up immediately twice. Unclear if I've got four pizzas waiting now or zero.

Nicholas B.

Yelp
You can just tag the walls and eat pizza. What more could you want. Had two slices both had little flop. Everybody knows the rules. Just one bite.

Brooke V.

Yelp
The bald man with the beautiful beard and the young man with the septum piercing were so kind. Best pizza I've had in salt lake. Would 10/10 recommend for atmosphere, customer service, and prices.

Brooklyn L.

Yelp
It was delicious!!! Great service! The pizza was amazing! The prices were also very affordable

Britt M.

Yelp
I love the pizza here, but the lady (another comment mention lunch lady looking one, so true) wearing the ugly bandana everytime I see her, has the worst costumer service I've ever experienced MULTIPLE times. She has yelled at me twice now. The first time I excused as we were drunk and not paying attention, but still no excuse to ever yell at a paying costumer. But last night I went to pick up my purse I accidentally left, seeing as it is loud and she was all the way in the back asking if it was my purse.. I did not hear her. She screamed at me loud enough that everyone in the back was staring. She needs to learn how to respect people and go to anger management classes. If I were you guys I would let her go, she should find a job where she doesn't deal with costumers.

Lizz L.

Yelp
I waited forever for an overdone pizza Nice taste but I really wanted the pizza I ordered. Not worth asking for refund cuz my calls weren't answered I think they don't have quality control Pizza was huge but it was burned and cheese was plastic

Celeste T.

Yelp
I've been here a couple of times and the pizza is solid. I love the different flavors of pizza you can get and I love even more that this place is open until 2am! Smart being right next door to a bar and right off of State Street. Service was polite and quick. Only the cashier spoke to us which was the person putting our slices in the oven. For this recent visit, I got the potato/bacon, pepperoni with red sauce & a ham/cilantro. All were good, heated up once I chose my slices. Potato bacon surprised me as something I would like from the first time I tried it. I added some parm from the packets next to the drink station and it was good. What we should've done was order a whole pizza but we were in the "let's eat right now right now" moment of the night. Not sure if they have ranch available for pizza but that's a preference for me and not a hit or miss for a pizza spot if they don't offer it. Check their menu online as it shows the various options you can order and their deals.

R Scott W.

Yelp
What a place to exist. Stop by, grab a slice of pepperoni or one one of their cosmic pies of the day. Accessible, popular, different hours, selection, and clientele daily

Debbie L.

Yelp
One word. Y E S! Fantastic pizza! Best in town. Classic pepperoni! Oh my goodness.....yummy in my tummy. Love the other original selections too. Can't go wrong with any of the slices!

Melissa B.

Yelp
This pizza was the bomb after a night out in SLC!! Order before you go out to have it ready to go in ur hotel room!! So good!!

T E.

Yelp
Delish, hit the spot. Come to Kansas City, MO!!

K M.

Yelp
Place is shit. Doesn't answer its phone. Slow to serve , even premade slices. Do not recommend. Stay away from this shithole

Vida A.

Yelp
Late night munchies? Pie hole has you covered. Cheap slices of gourmet pizza slices but I sticked to cheese and it hit the spot. They offer soda and beer too. Seems to always b a line but it moves quickly. Place is a dump but hey price reflects ambience. Don't use the bathroom if you really must. Nice to have once in a while roaming late night. Btw it's light pizza so it won't bog you down.

Josh D.

Yelp
I don't know what the pizza was called, but I think it was the baked potato pizza, and it was sooooo good. I also ordered a Pepperoni and a cheese pizza and both were top notch.

James6Bloodfeast ..

Yelp
Been my fav pizza spot since I lived in Boise. Happy one came downtown. Love the weird pizzas, and the potato bacon is always amazing.

Veronica P.

Yelp
Love the atmosphere. Pizza is always amazing, unique toppings. It's quaint & cozy. Love the vibe , all kinds of people there and the music is different. I love Pie Hole!

Anne F.

Yelp
They have a security guard. That's how good the pizza is. Great late night spot and great pizza
