Miami’s New Restaurant Openings

"Wynwood’s Piegari joins the wave of Argentinian restaurants spreading throughout Miami. This place is from Argentina, but has nothing to do with churrasco and empanadas. Instead, expect a more Italian menu with dishes like branzino, gruyere-stuffed tortellini, and filet mignon milanesa." - mariana trabanino, virginia otazo

Piegari, One of Argentina’s Most Celebrated Italian Restaurants, Debuts in Wynwood - Eater Miami

"Argentina’s acclaimed Italian spot, Piegari Ristorante, beloved by celebrities, debuts its first U.S. outpost tonight, July 8, in Wynwood. The restaurant's expansion to the United States marks a major milestone for the company, as it has been a fixture in Buenos Aires for 30 years. Menu highlights include dishes like Corde di Chitarra alla Carrettiera, guitar string pasta with pomodoro sauce; Ravioli alla Piegari, spinach and ricotta ravioli baked in cream pomodoro; and Fettucini al Nero di Seppia, squid ink fettuccine with shrimp in a creamy lemon garlic sauce topped with red caviar. An array of risotto can be found on the menu, including the seafood-focused Risotto Frutti di Mare, vegetable Risotto alla Primavera, and sirloin or lamb Risotto alla Ragú. Main course offerings include Branzino al Sale, sea salt-encrusted sea bass; Soglioloa, Dover sole with magnolia sauce; Milanese alla Napoletana, breaded sirloin with tomato and mozzarella; and Costoletta alla Salvia, veal chop with sage and roasted potatoes. The restaurant is known for its desserts, such as crepés alla mela, flambeed tableside; vulcano al cioccolato, a rich chocolate dessert with vanilla ice cream; profiteroles filled with custard-cream ice cream and chocolate sauce; tiramisu; flan with cream and dulce de leche; and fragola alla lampara, glazed strawberries with ice cream and almonds. The cocktail program offers a mix of classic and creative drinks and an impressive wine list. Standout cocktails include the Piegari Spritz with clementine juice, prosecco, and citrus cordial; Flora & Fauna with vodka, raspberry cordial, sage and lemon liqueur, aperitif, and prosecco; Let That Man-Go with tequila, mango, ginger, lime juice, and agave nectar; and The Slice of Life with gin, bergamot, blackberry and thyme cordial, and tonic. The 160-seat dining room features natural tones with splashes of color, including tables, intimate booths, and spacious banquettes. Guests can watch the action unfold in the open kitchen. Blonde wood-paneled walls are complemented by shades of blue, greenery, and gold accents. The bar seats 16 and features white polished marble, dark blue wainscoting, backlit gold shelves, and stacked brick. Piegari Ristorante Miami is now open at 137 NE 26th Street in Wynwood for dinner daily with lunch to follow." - Olee Fowler

Google
Hands down the best Italian restaurant in Wynwood! From the moment we walked in, Federica warmly welcomed us and guided us to our table, taking the time to walk us through the menu. The ambiance was incredible, the food was absolutely delicious, and the service was a perfect 10/10. A huge shoutout to our amazing servers, Roger and Ruben, who made the experience even more special. I’d definitely come back again!

Google
Piegari in Miami delivered a fantastic dining experience with top-notch food and service. Marcos, the GM, welcomed us with warmth and expertise, setting a great tone. Our waiter, Luis, nailed his recommendations, leading us to an amazing carbonara—authentic with Roman pork cheek, handmade pasta, and a rich, unforgettable flavor. My lobster was perfectly cooked, with a light, delicious sauce. The pistachio ice cream was a standout, easily one of the best I’ve tried. A delightful spot worth revisiting!

Google
Came here for brunch with friends, delicious food and mimosas are tasty. But my favorite drink is the Let That Man Go passion fruit and I could have tons of them. The bruschetta was tasty too. The ambiance is very nice with good music, thanks to Marcos and Federica for taking care of us

Google
No exaggeration here - this was THE BEST service I have EVER received. first off, my friends and I were strolling by and we were worried they weren't going to let us in because we weren’t super dressed up. From the moment we walked in they treated us with so much respect. I wasn’t that hungry so I just briefly mentioned I wanted to share a plate with my husband, and they split it onto two plates for us!?! Other greedy restaurants would never! 😭 We gladly spent $400 last night. I wish I would have thanked our server more I was just feeling my drinks a little too much - which were amazing by the way. I applaud everyone and everything about this restaurant. Thank you guys

Google
The decor and ambiance of these new restaurants keep outdoing one another. A stunning interior! Would have given five stars but the Caesar salad was just a pile of chopped iceberg and some parm, not a single unique quality or taste to it to justify a $20 salad. The sea bass and bolognese were both incredible and the molten chocolate cake was the best I’ve had in Miami. It was a slow, Tuesday night and somehow managed to take 25 minutes to close out our tab. I hope this place sticks around as I’d definitely be willing to give it another go.

The place is beautiful, a little gem in Wynwood, the service was excellent, the food was awesome, the pasta was fresh handmade and all the dishes were 10/10, my favorite was the porcini risotto and the tagliatelle al nero di sepia.

Yelp
I am extremely impressed with this restaurant! We visited on a Thursday night, and it was quiet, with only 4-5 other tables occupied. The ambiance is stylish, with a great vibe that sets the mood right from the start, although I think some background music would enhance the experience since it was pretty quiet and I can hear the other's tables conversations. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted, and the service was exceptional. Our server, Frederico, along with the rest of the staff, was incredibly attentive, taking care of every little detail. For ordered: - Calamari: The tomato sauce paired with the calamari was delicious, with a nice spicy kick that elevated it. - Mushroom/Truffle Pasta: I was absolutely blown away! The sauce had the perfect amount of truffle and was deliciously creamy. As one of my favorite dishes, this restaurant will now become my go-to spot for it. - DDL Crepe: Light and airy with the perfect amount of sweetness to end the night! There is street parking nearby, and valet as well. I will definitely be back!

Yelp
Overall, I'd give this place a 3.5/5. The ambience was nice, though it could use dimmer lighting. The service was good, but the hostess and a waiter chatting for 30 minutes by the hostess stand was disturbing since we were seated nearby. Our waiter, however, was attentive and polite, and the complementary limoncello at the end of our meal was a nice touch. The food was overall good. The Caesar salad was super yummy with a hint of anchovies, but the meatballs were nothing special, and the octopus needed more salt, though I did enjoy the potatoes it came with. The shrimp and carpaccio were delicious. The lobster pasta, recommended with fresh pasta alla chitarra, was okay but came out lukewarm, the tomato sauce was bland, and you only get half a lobster tail- for $80, it didn't quite meet our expectations. The sommelier's wine pick was excellent, and the carajillo was very good. Overall, this place has great potential but needs a few improvements to be truly outstanding.

Yelp
Delicious food and comfortable, but refined atmosphere at Piegari Miami last night. Salads, pastas, desserts were all perfectly prepared. Would love to go back and try other dishes asap. Superb all around!

Yelp
Food and service was quite good at this place.... Wine list I thought was going to be better priced as the owner has vineyards in Argentina... not the case, hence (hefty price on corkage) why have not been attracted to coming back. Food was on the medium plus side but wine did turn me down! Sorry boys.

Yelp
Excelente comida un muy lindo ambiente y un equipo que irá mejorando a base de experiencia. Todo es fresco y bien pensado, de los pocos lugares que se vuelve a pesar del servicio

Yelp
Restaurant decor and presentation was great, however I did have to ask the server to turn on the music to create some ambience it was oddly quiet for a restaurant, lights were flickering and distracting for a business meeting. Good was delicious and highly recommended, service started great but quickly became distant as the restaurant emptied. For the high dollars it commands, I expected much more

Yelp
This restaurant is a gem, if you like true Italian this is it. Outstanding service and ambiance but what is even better is the food and the cocktails. The smoked old fashioned is spectacular. The veal chop is perhaps the best veal chop I have had at a restaurant, the osso buco ravioli were delicious and the papardelle de funghi were sublime.

Yelp
I was extremely impressed with the service aside from our meal. It is hard to find dining places that place emphasis on making sure your experience exceeds your expectations.

Yelp
An amazing addition to the Miami food scene - pasta is the star here - fresh, creative and delicious. Have tried just about every fresh pasta dish and it's hard to choose a favorite. Overall experience from expertly made cocktails to appetizers to the desserts was excellent with outstanding service to match. Definitely will be one of my go to dining experiences - you should go!

Yelp
The staff and service were spectacular. The food incredible. This was my second time there and having been to the original restaurant in Bueno Aires it exceeded our expectations. The menu is very varied and enticing. Truly a must experience.

Yelp
It was our very first time visiting Piegari and we were all very impressed! It has the 3 elements that make any restaurant experience memorable: great food, great service and ambiance. Kudos to Piegari! We will definitley be returning.

Yelp
We had an amazing dinner at Piegari's! My husband heard about this restaurant and wanted to try it based on its great reviews and reputation in Argentina. We went with my sister and friend and had a wonderful evening. The hostess was friendly and efficient. Becca, our server, was attentive and knowledgeable throughout the entire meal. As soon as we were seated, bruschetta and a small welcome cocktail that's Prosecco based was brought to us. Both were yummy. Here's a run down on the food between the 4 of us. The mozzarella di buffala is delicious. The giant heirloom tomatoes were impressive and the mozzarella was seriously out of this world. The polpo alla griglia was tender and flavorful. We all loved it. They had a salmon carpaccio that night and it was good. It was delicately smoked and sliced, but we were expecting it to be a raw salmon carpaccio (maybe we missed that it was smoked). Then, we had homemade pastas: parpadelle al funghi, tortellini verde alla valdostana, ravioli alla piegari, and a special shrimp gnocchi that they offered that evening. Each of these pastas was fantastic and we had a hard time identifying a favorite because they were all so incredible. For dessert, we had the tiramisu, pistachio gelato, and the chocolate lava cake. Yum yum yum! I wish I could remember the names of the specialty cocktails that we got, but all you need to know is that the drinks at Piegari's are delicious and perfectly made. I even told the bartender how much we loved them because they were so impressive. With dessert we were given complimentary limoncello. It was so tasty. At the end of the meal, the GM came by (he had checked in with us and chatted a bit earlier in the meal) and gave us hugs and handshakes goodbye. We told him we felt like family there because all the staff were so welcoming and friendly. All of us absolutely loved Piegari's and were amazed that it was only their 10th day open. Usually brand new restaurants feel like they need a lot more work, but everything (the staff's professionalism, ambiance, food, drinks ...) was polished and excellent. Plus, the price of the entire meal was reasonable. And no, I am not connected in any way to the restaurant or any of the workers. I just truly enjoyed our meal and time at Piegari's. Definitely looking forward to returning!
