First time visiting Pil Pil - the perfect spot for date night or a cozy dinner with friends. Carne Adobada: Beef steak marinated in smoked paprika, garlic, olive oil, vinegar, and pan-seared to perfection. It’s juicy, aromatic, and deeply flavorful served with crispy fries. Coca De Chorizo: Spanish flatbread topped with spicy chorizo, melted cheese, and roasted peppers. Homemade Tres Leches: A moist sponge cake soaked in three types of milk, offering a rich and creamy texture. Everything was beautifully presented and bursted with flavor. The space itself is warm and intimate, with tree branches trailing across the ceiling and a mural that brings a rustic charm to the room. Romantic and relaxing vibe.

Solid place all around for a quick bite or more casual meal. We got there for happy hour priced items and they were actually pretty fantastic, especially for the cost. We got the meatballs and the dates wrapped in bacon and the coquettes. The coquettes were absolutely unreal

I loved this place! Such a cute little gem. We went there for brunch and had a great experience. The setting was very comfy despite the limited space, the food was delicious, and the service was on top! They timely refilled the mimosas, and the brunch platter was so good I want to go back to try all the other dishes on the menu. I won’t recommend for big groups, but it’s the perfect setting for a date night or if you want to catch up with a friend.

The lovely restaurant below our apartment. The chief was our life saver when we arrived late and couldn't get into our apartment, he lent us his phone to call the owner to let us in as our UK phone had problem calling. The restaurant had a lovely busy feeling to it good food and drinks, which we did iced Pop back down and sample. It's in a lovely area and nice and clean inside and out.

Pil Pil – A Cozy Spanish Tapas Bar with a Few Hits and Misses Nestled in the Upper East Side, Pil Pil offers a warm and inviting atmosphere that transports diners straight to Spain. With its rustic decor and ambient lighting, it’s an ideal spot for both intimate dinners and group gatherings. 🍽️ Food Pil Pil’s menu showcases a variety of traditional Spanish tapas. The mini chorizos stand out as a must-try, delivering a burst of flavor that’s both spicy and savory. While the patatas bravas and mushroom flatbread have garnered praise from patrons , the tres leches dessert was a letdown, lacking the moist richness typically associated with this classic treat. 🍷 Drinks The beverage selection complements the tapas menu well. Signature sangrias and a curated list of Spanish wines enhance the dining experience, offering authentic flavors that pair seamlessly with the dishes. 👨‍🍳 Service Service at Pil Pil is generally attentive and friendly. Staff members are knowledgeable about the menu and eager to provide recommendations, contributing to a pleasant dining atmosphere. Ambiance The ambiance is one of Pil Pil’s strong suits. With its cozy interior, adorned with tree roots on the ceiling and a captivating mural on the back wall , the restaurant exudes a charm that’s both rustic and chic. It’s a space that invites relaxation and conversation, making it a favorite among locals and visitors alike. Overall Pil Pil delivers a commendable Spanish tapas experience in the heart of New York City. While there are standout dishes that impress, some items fall short of expectations. Nevertheless, the inviting ambiance and quality service make it a worthwhile destination for those seeking a taste of Spain.

Google
The main draw for Pil Pil is its vibe, with the dim, cozy interior lit mostly by the cool bar. The food is a mixed bag. I enjoyed the grilled smoky char of the shishito peppers (Pimientos del Padron, $18 plus tax). The sauce of the Pollo Catalán ($23) was quite sweet from the raisins. The Manchego cheese risotto, which accompanied both the chicken and the Calamares Pequeños, needed to be seasoned better. The skin of the eggplant was, in parts, tough.

Google
Delicious food and good wine paring. I only with they don’t have so many plastic plants. Because it’s pretty romantic as it.

Google
Whenever I see restaurants with thousands of Google reviews, five stars, and no comments, I genuinely think those reviews are fake. After seeing the high ratings, I decided to give this restaurant a chance, but honestly, the risotto was disastrous, and the chicken was dry. I also found the portions relatively small. Overall, I’m not pleased with my visit, so I’m giving three stars.

Yelp
Absolutely 100% a place to visit while in NYC ! Every but do put into my mouth was delicious. We went during happy hour and got two sangrias and the 5 for $35 tapas. Service was through an iPad menu and quick because it wasn't too busy on a weekday afternoon. The lighting was dark and moody - great date spot. All of the foods practically melted in my mouth ! All small plate style so great for sharing.

Yelp
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Pil Pil in NYC, and it was a delightful experience. The ambiance is cozy and lively, with a warm, rustic charm that makes it an inviting spot for a relaxed meal or a casual night out. The service was attentive and friendly, enhancing the overall experience. We started with a sangria, which was absolutely perfect--refreshing and well-balanced. The ceviche was very tasty, with bright flavors that made it a standout. The albóndigas were delicious, especially with the rich sauce and bread that came with it. The pulpo was a highlight as well, charred to perfection and full of flavor. The croquetas de bacalao were flavorful, and the steak and fries rounded out the meal nicely. Overall, Pil Pil offers a wonderful mix of flavorful dishes in a charming setting, making it a great choice for anyone looking to enjoy a variety of delicious tapas.

Yelp
Would I go here again? Absolutely yes! I went for happy hour after work and the staff was extremely friendly for one and I believe that makes or breaks an establishment. The food reminded me of when I was just in Spain this summer. Cooked to perfection. The Cava was also absolutely delicious! We sat outside and enjoyed the summer air. Happy hour drinks were under $10 and the food was too I think. https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZP81hQ7nS/

Yelp
My boyfriend and I walked in at 6 on a Thursday and were seated at an 8 top table alongside a group of 5. Extremely cramped to the point that the server had trouble talking, hearing us, and handing food/drinks over. We started with white sangria because the froze wasn't ready. The sangria was yummy! We ordered calamari which had an awful burnt aftertaste. My boyfriend ordered Pulpo a la Pancha which had great flavor and texture and I had the arroz meloso which kind of lacked the flavor I was hoping for but was filling and the seafood was delicious! After around 30 mins, the server let me know the froze machine was up and running again and I'm so glad I waited because it was PHENOMENAL! If I return, it'll be for the drinks.

Yelp
This place was super cute. Went with a friend. They have seating outside in front of the restaurant and also closer to the end of the block Great HH, it's till 7 I posted pics of the HH menu. And then I think they had half priced bottles after 7

Yelp
Decent spot that's been open for awhile. Apparently great for the pitchers of sangria! I am against iPad menus though so I wasn't a fan of how they use those for people to look at the menu... I know the concept should be good, but honestly I like it better when it's a paper menu. Got the shrimp, classic patatas bravas and the cod!

Yelp
Came for lunch and couldn't have been more pleased. Between the two of us we shared 4 tapas and that seemed like the perfect amount. They have a lunch deal that is not bad at all! Service was fantastic and easy to order with very quick service. Our favorite was easily the carne adobodo. The vibe of inside the place is so fun and cute and just there to have a really fun time to relax!

Yelp
Came Monday evening on a date - this is a good spot for such because its cute and quiet inside while not being overwhelmingly stimulating we ordered 2 dishes to share and both were excellent, however, i am in awe over their prices as we bought these 2 dishes and 1 beer and the bill was $60 - i left pretty hungry still! i will say the food is cooked to perfection - the steak was juicy and the pork was delish. the sauce on the french fries and really just everything had been perfectly seasoned. def recommend!

Yelp
We ate outside for happy hour. Service was good. We had 1 white sangria and 1 red sangria. Both tasted good but alittle watery. We tried Gambas al Ajillo, Albóndigas de la Abuela, Dátiles Rellenos, Esparragos Romesco and Empanadillas de Puerco y Chorizo. Our favorite was the dates and gambas ( shrimp). Everything else was good just not great.

Yelp
Food 9/10 Such solid tapas but also might be biased because I had a great time. Objectively, I do think it's one of the best tapa spots in NYC. The shrimp was a little oily but the oil sauce with the bread goes crazy. The paella had a very generous amount of seafood, the octopus was very tender and flavored, and so was the manchego cheese. The wines they recommended were also quite interesting and fun. Atmosphere 7/10 We were seated at some communal table, with parties of two sitting across from each other both sides. Could tell they were both first or early dates, so it was kind of funny listening in on their conversations. It felt a bit tight and cramped, not sure who thought of this setup but I guess its fine. Cool decor inside, hopefully I can come back during the day to full appreciate the interior. Service 6/10 Solid service, friendly dude. The only thing is I don't like the iPad menus. They were quite janky and just not great for the dining experience.

Yelp
We went for late lunch to PIL PIL on a Saturday, inside was a bit crowded but the weather is nice to seat outside. The staff is considerate and they'll turn the heaters if you ask them. We had one of my favourite beers, ALHAMBRA which is nice to found in NYC. Then, we had some tapas including GAMBAS AL AJILLO, SPINACH CROQUETTES, PATATAS BRAVAS , ALBONDIGAS with MASHED POTATOES. I recommend the CROQUETTES AND THE BRAVAS, really good flavor, both were crunchy outside and creamy or tender inside, really well done. Then, the bravas were not spicy at all.

Yelp
They were so sweet to bring us cake and champagne for our anniversary! Great cozy atmosphere and delicious tapas.

Yelp
My family came here after a day at the Met. We hit this establishment for their happy hour before dinner. The sangrias were all right, rather heavy on the wine. The surprising standout were the Granny Smith apple chunks in the drink. Unfortunately, the paper straws, when wetted, buckled in pursuit of the sturdy apple squares. The decor is dark, cozy, and beautiful. The music is as if sourced from TikTok? The staff were very friendly. Overall, a solid spot for happy hour!

Yelp
Service was good and I really enjoyed my glass of red wine (a Tempranillo blend). But our food was just very average. I had the pollo Catalan (chicken) which was a small, thin, dry breaded chicken cutlet. The sauce on top was nice. The accompanying rice was meh. The portion was small so then I also ordered the eggplant (Pisto de Berenjna). It was good but not memorable. My husband had the carne adobada (steak). He described it as "so-so". Given the reviews, I was hoping the food would have been better.

Yelp
Pil Pil is a very fun, bustling tapas restaurant that boasts some excellent dishes! My family and I had dinner here, and got an array of tapas, including a sampling of three different cheeses, Calamares Fritos (fried calamari), Gambas al Ajillo (shrimp in garlic olive oil), Patatas Bravas (fried potatoes with aoili), Croquetas De Espinaca (spinach croquettes), Pisto de Berenjna (grilled eggplant), and the Ensalada de Queso (salad with goat cheese). Everything was good, but there were a couple of very strong standouts: the Gambas al Ajillo were phenomenal (pro tip: get extra bread to dip in the garlicky oil!), as were the cheeses. The shrimp were perfectly cooked, deeply imbued with the flavors of good olive oil, garlic, and red pepper. To me, the flavors of the fried items were a smidge muted in comparison to the fresh or grilled items, so if I were to go back, I'd probably choose more non-fried options. Even so, there was nothing I wouldn't eat again! The ambiance is very fun and laid-back, and I enjoyed eating outdoors and sipping a glass of cool white wine on a late-summer evening. The service was generally good, though we couldn't tell whether we had a server that was specifically assigned to us -- different people took our drink order and our food order, and then other different people brought out our meal. It was fine, overall, but we felt a bit awkward just flagging down any nearby server when we wanted something.

Yelp
Pil Pil on the Upper East Side is a cozy spot for Spanish tapas, and we recently had the chance to sample several dishes from their menu. We kicked things off with the Mini Chorizo, a unique twist on a classic. The chorizo wrapped in a crunchy potato chip, accompanied by shishito peppers, was a delightful combination of textures and flavors. The mushroom flatbread was another winner, with earthy notes and a satisfyingly crispy crust. Moving on to the ceviche, it was fresh and zesty, a perfect palate cleanser between bites of richer dishes. The arancini were cheesy and satisfying, while the calamari brought a delightful crispy and tender contrast. While all the tapas were tasty and flavorful, I must admit that nothing truly stood out as a showstopper. That said, Pil Pil is a solid choice if you find yourself in the neighborhood and craving Spanish tapas.

Yelp
Went for happy hour and the service was quick! Servers were enthusiastic and happy. Definitely busy but a cute restaurant with high benches and fun spot to come after work. The food was good! Both sangrias were refreshing and hit the right spot. Not too strong but pleasant especially after a long day. The croquetas de espinaca were absolutely delicious! They went well with the sauce. Papas fritas were standard but a good tapa to order with drinks. I would definitely come back to explore the menu more!

Yelp
Interior had a good vibe to it and food was perfect for sharing in a small group. Good deal for multiple dishes and reasonable happy hour with excellent service from the staff.

Yelp
Again, one of the few times I will put 5 star recommendations. I went to visit and buddy and his family I had not seen in a while. They were thinking Turkish food, but I found this tapas place on E 78th st near 2nd Ave. We needed room for 5 1/2 peeps. We had a toddler with us. Pil Pil had no tables available because of multiple reservations already on their calendar. They asked us to wait a little and boom, they created seating for us outside, in which the temp was moderate, especially for almost winter and they did it without hesitation and with such a nice welcome. Let me tell you, there were no regrets, and we ended up really enjoying our time and interactions with almost the entire staff. Our waiter was Jerry, who seemed young but was well versed in the menu and extremely attentive to our eating and drinking needs. He knew exactly how each beer tasted. They serve beer, wine, and sangria only. This was perfectly fine for us since we were not looking for heavy alcohol. We placed orders for pulpo, gambas al ajillo, spinach croquettes, and fried calamari. All were quite good. The gambas for me were exceptional. It's probably one of the best I had. It came with 2 slices of grilled bread to soak up the oil, garlic, and spices. It was so good, we needed more bread for the garlic. They easily obliged us with a basket of bread. We were truly enjoying our dining experience. The staff, including Pamela and Pedro were just so friendly and nice. I wish I got the names of everyone else because it certainly was a team taking care of the restaurant. As I said, the food is amazing. What stood out to me was the gambas and the ribeye on the skewers!! I need to make a point to return here for dinner or brunch. It is certainly worth it.

Yelp
Had a late first date here on Sunday after a long tiring week of deadlines. My date and I both live in midtown and wanted to get away from the tourists/corporate environment so we decided to go to the UES. He's been here before so it wasn't a "let's see how they are here" type of moment. He was running late due to traffic so I ordered a Margarita, which was scarily strong. I took my time drinking, but the straw definitely interfered with the experience due to it being a bit unsuitingly long for the glass the drink came in. I was hungry so we also got a pan con tomate because that is one does at a Spanish tapas joint. The ambiance is cute and romantic and the service was great. Would go back here if the opportunity comes. No complaint what so ever, but the long straw lol. However, I definitely recommend the Margarita if you like a strong one.

Yelp
Saturday brunch for four. Friends reserved a table in advance. Once seated asked for outdoor table since inside gives dark and a bit dive bar vibes. Eventually before food came we were offered outside table which definitely was the better option. Opted for steak sandwich and unlimited drinks add on. Options were Bellini, mimosas and sangria. Tried both white and red sangria and both were watered down. Steak sandwich was good but otherwise not particularly Spanish or memorable. Over $70 each in the end wasn't worth it .
google avatar

Olivia M.

Yelp
Great ambiance, amazing food, good sangria, and usually good service. The inside of the restaurant is absolutely beautiful.
google avatar

Smita G.

Yelp
Cute ambiance and decor. Laid back vibes. Never too loud, and a surprising amount of space given the area on the other side of the restaurant. Lots of tapas options - seafood, vegetarian, croquetas, etc. Came on a Friday night and was able to sit at the bar immediately with my partner. The bar is backlit where they place all their bottles, which gives the it a colorful look. We got sangria, empanadas, meatballs with red sauce and mashed potatoes, brussel sprouts, and the mussels. Our server kept mishearing people which was really the only downside of the experience. He initially gave me red sangria instead of white, and then I also heard that he misheard (or misunderstood?) the order of the woman sitting next to me. He was very sweet, though. The empanadas were lackluster. You get 4 with some mixed greens and a red sauce that tastes similar to if they mixed ketchup with bbq sauce. The size and crisp on them was great, but the flavor of the empanada without sauce was very lacking. There was plenty of meat in each one and the meat was tender, but it tasted like they didn't bother to season the meat. Neither me nor my partner were very impressed with the sauce either, so it felt like we were eating it just because the empanadas would have been too boring without it. Would opt to try the croquetas instead next time. The mussels were delicious. Garlicky, and dip-worthy. You get two pieces of bread with this. The meatballs were SO tender. They come with a couple of pieces of bread as well. Very yummy and surprisingly filling. The mashed potatoes are hiding at the bottom, just FYI. Since this is a very saucy dish it can be easy to feel like you're losing track of the potatoes when they start mixing with the sauce. The brussel sprouts ironically might have been my favorite. You get so many, and they were so flavorful. It seems like they're cooked with a balsamic sauce of sorts. The sangria was extremely weak. After talking to a friend about this who has come here many times, I discovered that this has been their experience on multiple occasions as well. Our running theory is that they make large batches in anticipation of rushes and depending on when you come you might be getting mix with melted ice. Despite the weak drinks and subpar empanadas I loved the energy of this place and the variety of food. I will definitely be coming back to try the other tapas!
google avatar

Shelby S.

Yelp
Great spot for happy hour! A few food specials and sangria specials. Favorites were definitely the Gambas and Bacon Wrapped Dates. Cute vibes and great prices.

Yelp
Delicious tapas but some of the fried choices were a little oily for me. Bottomless brunch is good value. Great service and efficient team.
google avatar

Yelp
this is my go to place to meet up for drinks when you want something different. Down to the candles dripping down the walls this place is big on fine details. Tapas are always good. So are the drinks. Glad they opened up the other side. Was always a bit tight in there and not easy to get a spot. check out the big vines out front. Local place for me and it's a great spot to meet friends when you really want to show them what the upper east side is like.
google avatar

Yelp
Nothing of the food blew me away, but the happy hour deal is really good! It also has pretty good service and has a good, aesthetic environment.

Yelp
Quite delicious. We had the entire restaurant for a private party. Service was unbelievable as were the drinks, food and ambiance! We will be back!

Yelp
Solid solid solid......Great food, great atmosphere, great service! Each dish was a compilation unique flavors with a lingering sensation of wanting more.

Yelp
This is a fun place for a grown-up brunch, if you don't care a ton about the food and just want to drink a bunch of mimosas and sangrias. That's exactly what my friends and I did. It's a really good deal and the drinks were good and kept flowing. While I love the concept of tapas from different parts of Spain the food was inspired but not well executed. I wonder if it would be better to bring the dishes out individually so they are at the right temperatures. Anyway, the best part about this place (besides the drinks) was the servers. They were all attentive, friendly, and genuinely nice and fun people. @alex.eats.365

Yelp
Pil pil is an absolute gem! With a massive menu and such an incredible selection of different tapas and drink options, every single thing we tried was absolutely stunning. The staff were beyond welcoming and treated all the guests like family. The whole experience was truly wonderful -- beyond the food, the drinks were so spectacular and unique! Some of the highlights were the extraordinary decor, grapefruit soju cocktails, skirt steak, and UNBELIEVABLE charcuterie board!! Pil pil is an absolute destination that I would definitely recommend to all, and I will without a doubt be back soon!
google avatar

Tonya H.

Yelp
I hate feeling rushed to eat, anddd if I would of known the kitchen was closed at 1030 we would of never came. It says this establishment is open until midnight. I guess I get it, slow Monday, but doesn't take away from the disappointment. Staff umm, not the best, but they did their job. Sangria needs a lot of work. Lol Anyway, Live and learn not every dining experience is a hit. Wrong place wrong time I guess. Food was great, wish I could of ordered more! Would I come back No. Boqueria never lets us down and I think we will stick to that! Best of Luck!
google avatar

Phoebe L.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I came here for lunch, and the ambience was very intimate! Our server was also very nice, and the food came out quickly. We did the 5 for $29, and we also got some manchego cheese. We knew that the portions would be small (seeing as this is a tapas place), but we were still surprised by the size. We enjoyed the pinxtos morunos, tortilla de patata (our favorite), and datiles rellenos. We'd skip the calamares fritos next time since it was mostly breading and the empanadas since it only comes with two small ones. Overall, the food was pretty good, but it was much smaller than we would have liked.
google avatar

Janvi G.

Yelp
Really really nice and cute spot on the UES! Super cozy, great food and nice vibes. The tortilla (egg dish) was so so good and flavorful, it was unbelievable. I also got something similar to a bruschetta.
google avatar

Shannon D.

Yelp
This brunch was unreal!!!! They have a unique menu organized by Spanish region. You get a plate with 3 tapas designed based on the region you select. So fun and different, and a great way to tie in the tapas style into a traditional brunch!! My fiancé and I both had the Basque region, and it was just so so delicious!! Highly recommend. We also did the bottomless option, and certainly got our fill of sparkling sangria! We also tried the mimosa and Bellini, which we great as well. Definitely will be back for the brunch, and will be high on my list when showing friends around the UES!!

Yelp
Perfect ambiance for a night out with friends or date night. Amazing service (waiters/waitresses know the menu well and are very friendly). Food is also great! Loved the Tres Leches Cake. Probably one of the best I have had. Will definitely return!
google avatar

Joe C.

Yelp
3.5/5 Most of the dishes weren't really to my liking, and the sangria was very watered down. That being said, I did enjoy their arroz meloso, which came with a generous portion of seafood, and I know that I'll order that one again if I happen to return.
google avatar

Edward M.

Yelp
The ambiance is very unique here, and something sought after in nyc for a memorable dining experience. The food was good, I wouldn't say it was the best I've had, but for the price it's excellent. I really liked the staff - the waiter helped us order based on the size of our party (super thankful because we were all too full afterwards). Definitely great for taking employees out after work and other happy hour occasions!
google avatar

Jenn X.

Yelp
We ordered the brussel sprouts, the beef skewers, the civeche and the shrimp. Was all good - but all cooked with slightly too much oil. Still, was on a Sunday so got half off this delicious wine after 6. Service was excellent. Inside seating is stools just FYI. Enjoy.
google avatar

Natalia J.

Yelp
Very very cute vibes. It's cozy with warm lighting and candles and lanterns around, with wine bottles in the columns serving as decor under a network of wines and rose bushes hanging from the lattice ceiling. Happy hour is until 6:30 and all sangria, beers, and tapas are $6! However, the calamari was as salty as our server. My mouth was puckering up from the intense saltiness of the calamari, which had way too much breading in ratio with the fleshy squid.
google avatar

Steph W.

Yelp
The seating is tight within the front section of the restaurant but the decorations are very welcoming and festive. I love the wine bottle light behind the bar! They have iPads with the menu that allow you to 'favorite' the items you want to order, which made it really easy to see the photo/name of the dish and place the order with the waiter. Here's what I ordered: Croquetas de Espinaca (spinach and manchego cheese) - these were my favorite amongst the things we ordered; it was creamy and had a nice exterior crunch; comes in 5 servings Pollo Picante (chicken wrapped with jam and mahon cheese with truffle sauce) - loved the creaminess of the sauce, chicken itself was a bit bland and dry, 4 pieces of cut chicken Pisto de Berenjena (eggplant with manchego cheese) - it was like a baked eggplant with cheese on top so I was not impressed by it I loved the ambiance of the restaurant. It was 50% full wine bottles on Sunday!! Happy hour Monday to Friday 4-7pm. Overall, the tapas were okay and a bit more pricey than I thought it would be for the small quantity that they provide. The service was great and checked on us frequently. Would come again to try the other dishes though.

Yelp
A-okay! My friend and I had lunch here this past week. The restaurant was quiet, but pleasantly decorated and cozy. The waiter was pleasant, though not particularly memorable as he wasn't friendly, nor unfriendly. My friend ordered from the seafood menu and I ordered 3 tapas. My friend's dish was oily and overly sweet, due to which she didn't finish it. The portion was slightly larger than a tapa, but smaller than an entree. For my food, the spinach croquettes were delicious and creamy. The calamari was densely fried and a small portion. The lamb on bread (can't remember the exact name of the dish) was yummy, but extremely small in size. There was 1 bite of lamb on each piece of it came with (2 total breads). Overall, nothing hit the spot with taste or size. It left a lot to be desired. I did consider adding more tapas on, but the first 4 dishes we had were not astounding so we're not sure it would've made a difference. Wish the restaurant continued growth!

Yelp
I had wanted to give this place a try so my boyfriend and I did outdoor dining. I thought the croquette was pretty good, and came out pretty quickly from when we ordered it. Next, we got the lamb sliders, where I thought the lamb was just a frozen patty re-cooked - just average. Lastly, we got the patatas bravas. And I got a glass of red sangria. Overall, service was quick and the food was OK. However, giving 1-star due to the uncleanliness of the establishment, unfortunately. We were given two plates to eat our food and both had very oily fingerprints on them, noticeably you can see the oily marks on the plate where we were about to eat. I asked for additional napkins and one had a food stain on them, and another had a small piece of hair on them as the waitress placed them on our table. Worst culprit of all was that our patatas bravas tapa had a piece of hair on the bottom of the dish -- where, mid-eating, we noticed it was in our food. Shouldn't employees be wearing hairnets? I appreciate that the server took off 2 tapas dishes off our tab, but overall I believe the cleanliness of the restaurant should be re-evaluated so that this can be prevented for other customers in the future.

Yelp
This is the "Pil" to cure all you Tapas Cravings. If you are in or near the EastSide, make time to experience all the flavors they offer. Couple that with an amazing atmosphere and employees that obviously enjoy sharing their love for the cuisine.

Yelp
Pil pil went above and beyond with customer service. I went with a group for brunch, because we were a large group, we sat in the back private room. I left my umbrella there and I called them on the evening to see if anyone picked it up. Turns out they did! I asked if they can keep my umbrella for a couple days since they're far up in UES. They agreed, took my name, and I was able to retrieve it days later. The brunch and drinks were very delicious too!

Yelp
Brunch at Pil Pil restaurant was a delightful experience that blended the best of Spanish flavors with the leisure of a mid-morning meal. The restaurant's charming atmosphere, reminiscent of a cozy Mediterranean courtyard, set the perfect tone for a relaxed weekend brunch. The selection of tapas, from patatas bravas to chorizo croquettes, was a true feast of Spanish cuisine, and the sangria added a refreshing touch to the meal. The combination of savory bites and a laid-back ambiance made it a memorable brunch outing that I'd enthusiastically recommend. The waitress was also very helpful!

Yelp
First off, the atmosphere is so cozy and romantic! The tapas special is a great deal, the food was delicious, and the service was solid. Although the portions are small, the food is super filling! Some callouts were the empanadillas de berenjena (delicious), calamares frito, pimientos de padrón, and the croquetas de espinaca. The sauces and salt that came with the tapas really made the dishes. Different flavor profile than what I'd typically find in tapas, but it paid off!
