This family owned small business in the east village is truly one of a kind. Try the rotisserie roasted chicken with potatoes! It’s a twist on French cuisine with all the ambience of a curated art gallery and botanical garden in one place. Come for the food, stay for the incredible vibe!

This place has very cool decor. But if you are going to force free comedy on your customers, put a break between the sets so they can escape! Or at least offer them more than one round of drinks. Wasn’t planning on playing free therapist to a group of failing armature entertainers on my Saturday night.

This place is AWESOME: quirky vibes (neon signage, free stickers, Talking Heads soundtrack), mouth-watering Southern food (brisket / sausage) that you can take to go, open early & late. There are savory dishes that include a TRUE SOUTHERN BISCUIT (formerly impossible to find in this town), a meat serving (see photos) that come with sides so it's a full meal. They're all selling this legal crack they call Space Cake (some kind of red velvet-brownie-banana voodoo that melts in your mouth). It's a takeout spot (right next door to the smoothie shop, a juice stand and the Mud Coffee picnic park) with benches across from the park. Opened by the former head chef at high-end eateries like the DL, you can tell this is the passion project of someone who loves food... even the side salad is special: carrots coils, lacy beets with a spicy jus. I live in the neighborhood and this is my new go-to for late night snacks, to-go lunch, or dates-that-aren't-drinking. Glad we have new ideas like this to keep the east village weird.

Nothing fancy. A little bit pricey for the location and infrastructure.

Somehow elegant and whimsical at the same time. The food is well priced and delicious and the fun, brightly colored takeout containers made me smile.

Great food and great people! Have tried almost everything on the menu at it was all delicious. Enjoyed the caribean curry & the brisket a lot and I especially have a soft spot for some of that Space Cake!

Food is very tasty. Love the space and art. Mainly a takeout place but in nice weather it's nice to sit on their patio. Owners are local and very nice good people's.

This is a strange little new takeout spot serving a small menu of Southern food with a hint of French influence. There are four options (brisket, turkey, sausage or ratatouille), all for $11, which are served in a cup, alongside a buttermilk & cornmeal biscuit, in a separate cup. The friendly chef said he didn't know anything about social media, which shows in the tough-to-Instagram presentation here, but the important thing always is that the food tastes good, which it does here. The "Banjo" (the brisket option) is swimming in so much au jus it's almost more of a soup. The biscuit was really fluffy and soft, and definitely the best part of the main dish. Something about watching and hearing him microwave the food was a little off putting though. They also have a Spiral Salad and Baby White Potatoes ($5 each) for sides. The space itself is fun, with the best thing about it probably being the huge pile of stickers accompanied by a sign that says "Take 1 (or 2) Dealer's Choice". My kids would have loved them all but I just took a few. If I were to come back here for anything though, it would be the stickers. And maybe to try the turkey.

Great food, to takeaway or sit on a bench out front. We had the lentils and beans, mac & cheese, mashed potato, brisket dumpling, and the mushroom dumpling and loved every bite. Our toddler barely let us share the lentils and beans, a sure sign she loves something. We showed up just as they were getting going, so we had about a 20 minute wait for our biscuit dumplings but the sides were brought out to us as they were available to keep our toddler from getting hangry (THANK YOU!). They also gave us the lentils and beans on the house, as well as a slice of space cake to tide us over which was lovely. Everything is 5 dollars, so affordable eats DO exist outside of a slice of pizza. If you are craving affordable, delcious, comfort food this is your spot. We will be back again soon!

Pinky's Space is a new takeout spot near the 2nd Avenue F stop, where 1st Street meets Houston. We were on our way to a party on a Friday night and wanted something quick, and from what I'd read about Pinky's it seemed to be perfect for cheap and healthy grab-and-go. It ended up being much more of a mixed bag. First off, I don't know if they're the most tech-savvy, as their Google page and site have no hours listed and their Yelp page has noon to midnight. Around 8 pm, it looked almost closed, and when we first walked in the only guy working (the co-owner) was in the back. He seemed to be closing up shop for the night, so not sure what's up with their hours. Second, it took us about 25 minutes in and out, and given that there's not really a place to sit or anything going on it was super awkward. It seemed like he was making all of the food from scratch? He understood that the wait was overly long, and gave us free cake, but the timing seemed totally off compared to the concept. Third, they don't post prices anywhere in the shop. We were honestly kind of shocked when our food (just turkey and a salad) was almost $30 after tax and tip. Fourth, we finally get our food and go, intending to eat it on the subway. They really haven't thought through their materials. Although the cups with plastic bubbles are cute, they don't stack well in the bag and the plastic part crumples easily. My salad was overstuffed so it made eating it difficult initially, and my boyfriend's turkey was actually more of a soup, and sauce was getting everywhere. Even the pickles were sliced too thick to eat comfortably. Compounding it was that the sporks have both too short of tines to stab things and too shallow of a bowl to actually collect any liquid. It was all very inconvenient. As for food quality itself: my salad was good, with generous and fresh vegetables, and the dressing worked. My boyfriend's turkey was fine, but it was totally inundated with a veloute that was oddly sweet. Biscuits and pickles were good. The space cake was a hit with our friends at the party, though I wouldn't call it anything special. I don't know. I want to support a local business, and it seems like they're trying hard to make it work in this space, but there were just so many things that it seems like they haven't thought through. I would hesitate to come here again just because of the time commitment.

This place brings out the sunshine at night with their beautiful garden outside. I did notice it's gone, how rude whoever took it down. I recommend this place to anyone who wants to also see their art, staff is friendly and nice.

I really wanted to like this place but it's truly disappointing. The outside setup is different and inviting but the drinks, food and service are terrible. At first it seemed promising. We were offered a lemonade vodka drink served in those generic Greek coffee cups. We ordered some things off the menu and as we sat and waited I realized an hour had gone by and our basic appetizer (little frankies) was taking forever. I asked the waiter and then a few minutes later he came back with it. We then waited 30 more minutes for a filet minion that was ordered an hour and half from the moment we got there. The place wasn't busy and when the main course was served we were given plastic utensils and when I asked for plates the gave us paper based containers. The filet was cut up and was just ok. Sadly that's it for me. Save yourselves the time and money. Go somewhere else.

Pinky's is a tiny art gallery that took advantage of outdoor seating and got a great cook, great tent, great atmosphere. There is a menu... and a chalkboard menu (actually marker on glass), but ask. They have take out, and outdoor tables for about 20 people. It's great for groups, and is a terrific spirit booster in awful COVID times.

Such a great spot for southern home cooking. The biscuits are so light and fluffy and addictive. Obsessed with the homemade turkey with gravy. I had a nice conversation with the chef, he's so kind and friendly. Everything is made from scratch and pretty healthy! Happy to see a nice friendly spot in this east village neighborhood. Will be back!

Check out Pinky's Space as soon as you can. The decor is whimsical and inventive, but more importantly, the food is incredible. I had the turkey, and it came with a freshly baked biscuit. Every detail is attended to, from seasoning to presentation. While I was waiting for my meal, a tray of space cakes came out of the oven. They looked and smelled amazing. This place is truly unique, unexpected, quirky, and most importantly, the food is of the highest quality. I recommend it.

This place is great...my family and i...had great time great staff...the owners kid we fell inlove with...its good to see a family business that make us feel like a part of the family...we love this place and will be back

Alright so it's not a full service restaurant but it seemed to call out to me. I think it was likely the brisket. I was starving and had been running all day. It was affordable which is huge if you're looking for a quick bite. What I really liked was the way time seemed to slow down while I was there. Super friendly in an almost southern way. There were quite a few people ordering and it didn't take long to get through everyone. We had the brisket, jerk chicken, sticky rice and potatoes. So pleasantly surprised that everything tasted fresh and to say it hit the spot is an understatement. Definitely will come back. Would likely go out of my way to try a few more things but need that brisket again. The desert looked good. Do y'all have any chocolate cake? I do love a good chocolate cake. Thanks for filling my belly.

Simply the best brisket and the amazing sides were incredible. I don't understand any negative reviews at this place. Reviews are always good with me.

A truly magical place, you step into an entirely different world. Innovative interior design. their carryout bags are innovative too. space itself speaks about their passion. the chef definitely does some wonders with his food. Best biscuit ever. Don't forget to try their space cake. hats off chef!

Every experience i've had here has been killer. Always great food (best brisket in Manhattan). Easy pick up spot and never a huge wait. Staff is super friendly and always happy to guide you through the menu to help you find what you're looking for. Awesome red velvets too for those with a sweet tooth! Highly recommended!

A great community spot that makes you feel welcomed

Ordered the brisket and it came with a biscuit and both had great, rich flavor. Had the taste of a home-cooked meal but still restaurant quality. Fun place with pleasant service. I'll be back soon.
