Yelp
Currently my favourite pizza heaven (piece 'a heaven, geddit? Cool.) in London.
There are now 3 PP outposts, but I've raved in the past about my deep, burning love for Exmouth Market so it's probably no surprise that this is my favourite.
No reservations policy by phone/online, but you can in-person make a reservation. This is a tickity inconvenient if you're not local and want to guarantee some deliciousness in your pie-hole before you go full-on HANGRY, but...I forgive you, PP. Mainly because your staff is rad, and there's the good ol' Exmouth Arms several steps away to kill time with a drink.
Menu is pretty bare bones (and I say that in the best of ways). Pizzas are 8 - 10 (ish) and it's possible to supplement with some fancy olives, nduja (did I spell that right?) or anchovies, etc. (ranging from 0.50 to 2.50).
Although I'm usually a tomato-based pizza gal, I heartily (and hungrily) recommend the white pizzas here. The one with house made fennel sausage, basil and broccolini is, erm...TASTY LIKE WHOAH. Super-solid (and interesting) veggie options like a chunkily-cut portobello mushroom pie, or an aubergine/marinara combo that mimics the much-loved eggplant parm of my childhood. Each table has some spicy oil to douse atop the *perfectly charred and puffy crust*. Do this. Recommended. Dooooo this.
Great brew options, and the classic Italian options of aperol spritz and negroni and limoncello; when in doubt I always grab a negroni. These are not my favourite - they are harsh, somehow - but well priced and topped with a generous slab of citrus, so I'm certainly not NOT (double negative) going to knock 'em back.
Dessert is never my bag (I seriously considered getting one of their garlic pizza breads to close out my meal instead), but with gelato from Gelupo it's not a bad option. Go for the vanilla topped with olive oil and salt. My dinner +1 asked (literally): "gee, is that disgusting?". Empirical evidence shows: nope. Try it. Dessert pizzas (featuring nutella, I believe; hey-oh!) also an option.
DRANKS, PIZZA, A SPLIT DESSERT: in/out for 20 pounds-ish. You treat me right, PP.
Yelp note: LUNCHTIME CALZONE AND PIZZA SOUP FOR 5GBP. Pizza heaven, indeed.
