Seattle Restaurants With the Best Views | Eater Seattle

"While the old-timers know that Place Pigalle was once a darling of the fine-dining scene in decades past — and a jazz club before that, and a brothel tavern before that—this charming little bistro in the sky has gotten kind of slept-on lately. Alongside the sweeping view of Elliott Bay, it offers guests a BOGO: They also get a cool territorial view of Pike Place Market on the way in, looking down on the vendors from a few floors above the action. Then, inside, the menu is keeping Seattle’s PNW-meets-French-cuisine movement of the ‘80s alive with pristine local oysters and mussels, escargots de Bourgogne, shellfishy Northwest bouillabaisse, Dungeness cakes, truffled salades, and onion soup gratinee, all overwhelmingly sourced from the Market below. The decor works hard to keep this era alive too, with abstract art, pink lights, and a checkerboard floor. Plus there’s a twee elevated bar, and they don’t hold back on the pours either. It’s Seattle’s prettiest, most delicious time machine." - Meg van Huygen

11 Phenomenal French Restaurants in Seattle | Eater Seattle

"In Paris, Place Pigalle has a raunchy reputation, thanks in part to the infamous Moulin Rouge. Seattle’s Place Pigalle is less risqué, yet offers its own peculiar vibe, and includes the inventive gastronomy that the Pigalle area is known for in today’s Paris. Tucked neatly behind Pike Place Market’s famous fish throwers with a view of Puget Sound, this place greets diners with vintage decor and old world charm and seals the deal with dishes like steamed mussels with bacon." - Leonardo David Raymundo

The food was delicious! We started with the pâté, which was quite different from the traditional French style, but still enjoyable. The escargots were cooked in olive oil instead of butter — a unique twist, yet still very tasty. The onion soup was excellent, the mussels had a different preparation but were good, and the bouillabaisse was flavorful and generous in size. Overall, we recommend the restaurant! It’s not super authentically French, but it’s charming and definitely worth a visit — plus, you get to enjoy a beautiful view of the Seattle port!

I’ve wanted to return to this intimate restaurant behind the hubbub of the fish mongers in Pike Place Market for many years. There are a few tables outside on a ledge before the entrance, but I was seated inside at a table next to a window facing Northwest, giving me a great view of the harbor. I opted for the warm beet salad ($19) and the duck confit (33). I left it to Nate (my server) to choose a white wine for the salad and a red to accompany the duck. He chose a 2024 Bordeaux Blanc from Chateau de Costis ($14) and a 2021 Pinot Noir from Coria Estates ($17, Willamette Valley). These are inexpensive wines, but they matched well with my dishes. The warm red and gold beets atop arugula, with candied walnuts, goat cheese from Cypress Grove, and a lemon-Dijon vinaigrette was perfect! The “Maple Leaf” Duck Confit was a crispy duck leg atop a butternut squash puree, with pieces of apple, some arugula and a cider gastrique was one of the best duck dishes in memory. Dessert was an espresso and an affogato. I realized when I returned home that Nate didn’t charge me for the dessert … Perhaps it was an oversight, but I’d like to think it was his way of apologizing for the lack of service initially. He mistakenly thought I was waiting for someone to join me, so I sat in the restaurant for quite a while initially. Whatever the case, I enjoyed my time at Place Pigalle and look forward to returning.

One of my absolute favorite restaurants in Seattle. If you didn't know it was there you might walk right past the small hallway to the entrance and not even know it. The service and food quality are both top tier. I try to go at least once per year. It is pricier than most dining options in the city but you absolutely get what you pay for. Compared to many new restaurants popping up that try to charge the same prices the experience at Place Pigalle blows them out of the water in my experience. It is established and very well-run. Sitting on the balcony area on a summer night watching the sun set over Elliott Bay while enjoying the culinary delights is unmatched. It is the perfect place for a very special evening.

We expected to write a 5-star review, but sadly we can only give 3 stars for tonight’s meal. Sigh… We are somewhat regulars at Place Pigalle but have never gotten around to writing a review. We usually have lunch, but this review is for dinner on June 4, 2025. Pros: This is a Seattle institution that everyone must try at least once. The views are outstanding! Try for a window seat. The wine selection is very good. The onion soup is the best you’ll find anywhere. The Pate is wonderful for lunch or dinner. The beet salad is good. The French Dip sandwich which they apparently only serve at lunch at extraordinary! You must try it. The service is usually very nice, casual, yet professional. Friendly. Cons: Tonight’s experience though left us with sadness in our insides… it just wasn’t the same Place Pigalle that we’ve known for all these years. Three things stood out to us to make us speak out with this review. 1.) The Maple Leaf duck breast was swimming in a cheap chili sauce… the kind you buy at the supermarket. It wasn’t anywhere near their level of quality. The duck itself was perfectly cooked but the sauce was awful. Cheaply made but they still charge $47 for it. It was the first time we were not just dissatisfied but actually didn’t like it at all. It was awful. 2.) The mixed green salad, which we’ve had before, was limp and oily and without any flavor. That was sad too. 3.) What’s with the hip-hop, electronica music that is playing way too loudly? This is a French place… jazz, classical, ambient, whatever… just not electronica. Might as well be playing country/western. Gawd… Have they changed chefs? New management? We are very afraid that one of our favorite Seattle French food places has taken a turn for the worse. Please… stick to what made you the institution that we know you used to be! We want the old Place Pigalle back!

We were brought here by a dear friend for lunch on our 31st wedding anniversary. Having never been it was a feast for the senses. The atmosphere was beautiful with views, and great things to see inside as well. We started with some bubbles, and then sampled a number of items from the menu. Each was skillfully prepared and a taste for the senses. I would highly recommend for any occasion, but it is especially suited for a romantic get away. Alex our server went above and beyond to make sure all of us had an experience to remember.

Nate was incredible! Attentive, alert, and engaged he made the experience memorable. The food preparation and presentation were fantastic. Only wish we were here longer so we could go again!

Google
This place is a treasure if you enjoy French cuisine. Wonderfully cooked dishes with locally sourced ingredients from the market, charming tucked-away location, and gorgeous view of the sound. Saffron is my favorite spice, so I immensely enjoyed the Seafood Bouillabaisse (basically a generous pile of seafood in a tomato saffron broth) and saffron clam chowder, which was very unique. We also got the Duck Confit, which was cooked to perfection. The service was also excellent, and I was pleased to learn that Place Pigalle provides free meals for its staff so that they know the menu inside out. We loved this place so much for lunch that we came back for dinner (be sure to make reservations), and now it’s our favorite restaurant in Pike Place Market!

Google
Get the mussels!!! It was the best ever, had hands down. This place is a hidden gem. Came across this unassuming place while looking for a spot for dinner. This is a special place. It's small and cozy where they focus on the quality of food. The service was exceptional. Try and get a window table.

Yelp
Visited family in Seattle and my sister recommended this spot for dinner! It's a relatively small and cozy restaurant along the pier and has a directions sign that says "behind where they throw the fish!" Had a reservation for 5 for a weekend evening and they were able to accommodate the family. Our waitress was very helpful and gave us recommendations from cocktails, appetizers and mains--pairing them all well. We got a wide range of food from the bouillabaisse, the duck breast to the onion soup gratinee. Everything tasted so good and it was nice to catch up with family whilst. We'll be back!!

Yelp
Unfortunately, Place Pigalle has joined its neighbor Maximilien in adding a sleazy, dishonest, disrespectful 5% service charge to their bill, instead of just raising prices. No one who is willing to pay $48 for an entree is going to care that it's now $51. But lying to us about the prices is wholly unacceptable. When Maximilien added that service charge to their menu during the pandemic, I quit going there, and Place Pigalle was my go-to spot for French food at the Market. Alas, I guess Place Pigalle has decided that tourist rubes who will only dine there once are more important than neighborhood regulars. There are still a few nice restaurants that have basic respect for their customers. I recommend choosing one of those, instead.

Yelp
I recently returned to this place after a long hiatus. I'm so glad I did. The warm beet salad was delicious, perfectly seasoned, with a nuanced dressing, and subtle surprises of candied walnuts. The real showstopper, however, was the halibut entrée. The ample portion was perfectly prepared, not overcooked as is so common in other kitchens. My server was attentive, knowledgeable, and engaged. This five-star meal was only marred by the unbelievable rudeness of the host. she stood at the door, barking, farewell to a couple other guests. I learned about her zodiac sign, and those of other family members. I learned about her plans for the week. When I didn't learn was how to get a table for several minutes. Then after a server stepped in to help, the host finally stopped her very loud conversation to find a table. Once seated, I got to hear her farewells to various staff for another 10 minutes.

Yelp
Food, service, and ambiance were off the charts amazing! Two wonderfully unique ultra fresh salads, one apple endive, the other a beautiful warm beet salad. A perfectly paired Bordeaux blanc wine, a corner window seat, on a 65 degree sunny day showcased Seattle at its best. It's a bit challenging to find, but on your next visit to Seattle and Pike's Market put Place Pigalle on your list! I recommend having a reservation... I failed to mention the excellence of the entire staff, thanks for your knowledge, kindness, and hospitality. Cheers!

Yelp
Delicious food with a view. Stopped in randomly to grab a small bite. The crab cakes were fabulous! So much flavor! We also ordered the house-smoked salmon. We ate this as a smear on the crostini. The food was delicious and you couldn't beat the beautiful view. We can't wait to go back to try more.

Yelp
I'm not often eating French food in Seattle but thought I would give it a shot here. It was very romantic, especially near the window seats for the sunset. We got the escargot, duck confit, and pork chop. Surprising the pork chop was the star of the show, definitely cannot miss it when you come here. The cook was perfect and the sambal sherry sauce was the perfect addition to make it less heavy. I also enjoyed the tenderness of the escargot but could've been a little more flavorful (really just needed some more salt). Skip the duck confit though as when we got it, it was dry and lacked flavor.

Yelp
Pigalle at Pike Place Market is an absolute gem. The food was delicious, with every dish thoughtfully prepared and full of flavor. What made the evening even more special was the sound of jazz playing in the background, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The service was attentive and friendly, adding to the overall charm. It was a lovely evening, and if you're looking for a spot with great food, a vibrant ambiance, and live jazz, Pigalle is the place to be. Five stars without a doubt!

Yelp
First time visiting Place Pigalle and overall was impressed. The restaurant is small and tucked just behind the fish market, I've probably walked by it a dozen times and didn't know it was there. They have a few small tables just outside the main entrance and then the restaurant itself is cozy. If you can snag a window seat, that's always the ideal. Our party of four was in for a business lunch. We started at a table near the entrance but the hostess was nice enough to ask us if we wanted to move to a better window seat once one came available which we took. Our server was friendly and knew the menu well. I was a bit worried that the limited menu options might not work for me when I looked online, but they have a few other items in restaurant, including specials. The table ordered bread (good and crunchy), oysters (I skipped but heard they were good) while I ordered the pasta special which was prawns in a creamy sauce with vegetables. Overall, everyone enjoyed their food! I did think it took a bit long for the entrees to come out and I didn't love that their ice tea was mint flavor and that wasn't mentioned when I ordered it (they were nice enough to change it out when I asked). But would definitely return again

Yelp
Alright where should I start. This is probably One of the best French restaurants that I tried so far in 2023 in Seattle. It was a solo date and I love how they let me reserve table for one. :) Food was phenomenal. You HAVE TO get that creme brûlée for dessert. It was so smooth it was melting in my mouth.*chef kiss* Perfect place for a date night, solo date or meet up with your friends. They also have live jazz music night on Tuesday in case anyone interested.

Yelp
Was in Seattle for the night and we had reservations on a Friday evening with my fiancé's family. There is limited seating so we did have to wait for some time to be seated. We had a lovely waitress who made great wine and food recommendations! I ordered the Dungeness Crab Cakes. This dish is large enough for 1-2 people. This may be one of the best crab cakes I have had in a very long time. It had a slightly crunchy outer layer, perfectly seasoned filling, and paired well with the salad. I was not too fond of the bread - a bit hard to chew. As others before me have mentioned, be aware that this is a pricier restaurant. Otherwise, I would recommend giving Place Pigalle a try!

Yelp
Place Pigalle is a dreamy little French bistro tucked away in Pike Place Market. We had an incredible window seat with a gorgeous view of the ferris wheel and the Puget Sound. All of the dishes were delightful and this restaurant had "Midnight in Paris" vibes making it such a cozy place to enjoy this beautiful meal. Standouts were the Steamed Mussels Pigalle and Calamari Dijonnaise which paired perfectly with our champagne. The service was exceptional and we can't wait to visit this spot again!

Yelp
The family and I had an amazing lunch today at Place Pigalle. We were looking for a lunch spot after perusing Pike Place Market. It just so happened that Place Pigalle was opening for the day when we arrived. The hostess sat us at a table with a view of the harbor. When you're at Place Pigalle it is easy to forget that you're in a major tourist area. The decor and atmosphere take you away to another time. I felt relaxed and comfortable. To start I ordered a Manhattan and the Mrs. ordered a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. As we enjoyed our drinks, we made our food choices. Kiddo and I ordered the Escargot. It was really good. The Mrs. ordered the Liver Pate which was a meal on its own. Kiddo and I both ordered the Saffron Clam Chowder as a main dish. The Saffron gave the chowder a smoky flavor and if you add some pepper like I did, the two spices combine to give the dish a little kick. Kiddo was smart in that she ordered a cup of chowder. I ordered a bowl and believe me, as rich as the chowder is a cup is plenty. The Mrs. ordered the French Onion soup which was really good. She said she'd return to the Place Pigalle just for the French Onion soup. The service we received from Nate was incredible. Our meal was perfectly paced and we didn't feel rushed. Staff's attention to detail was amazing. If there were breadcrumbs on our table, they were immediately cleaned off. I left the table to use the restroom and my soup was held back until I returned to the table. Place Pigalle was a great start to our vacation.

Yelp
Quaint homey feeling restaurant and bar tucked away in Pike Place Market with beautiful views of Puget Sound. First off, the service is fantastic! A friendly welcome and told to "make yourself at home" which confirmed it is a warm and inviting place. The service was spot on and I did not wait on anything and was well informed every step of the meal. Now for the food. Presentation is spot on as well as the freshness you can taste. The oysters they had today were plump and flavorful with the paired lemon and mignonette. The mussels (WOW) absolutely divine! The bacon flavor hits your nose pleasantly upon them being sat on the table. I have had many mussels and these were the best tasting I've ever had! Don't forget to get some French bread to soak up that delicious sauce. Last but not least, the French onion soup was rich and packed full of flavor. The rich broth flavor wrapped in cheesy goodness and baked to perfection was the perfect addition to round off the meal. I didn't plan to get dessert but I am glad I did. The creme brûlée was magnificent! The cream was a delicious rich flavor with the crunchy sugar top. Of course a long shot of espresso paired well with it. The place is full of pleasant chatter and fantastic food. It was nice looking out onto the sound as you enjoy a fantastic meal. I can not wait to come back soon and try more dishes!

Yelp
It's an Expensive French restaurant that serves a gorgeous view. The food is simple and always pairs with bread and a salad of some sorts. The service is a bit slow at times, but it is a tight space! The roasted chipotle chicken sandwich is a deconstructed sandwich that is quite hearty and simple. It's chicken thigh, roasted peppers, and an arugula base. The Dungeness crab cake comes with two pucks of crab. The salad that pairs is lovely with seeds, apple, and arugula. The bread is a bit tough to chew, but still a wonderful addition. Be wary of the price tag! Cheers!

Yelp
Best and most beautiful bouillabaisse in town with the most stunning views of the Puget Sound. Fight me. Ask for a cocktail called Springtime in Paris for a beautiful grapefruit take on gin & tonic (made with Empress gin) found in their cocktail Rolodex. And don't forget to try their espresso martini; it is a delicious liquid dessert. Utterly charming hostess and attentive service. Sunset dinner dates are the best there.

Yelp
It's great to have restaurants in the Pike Place Market after the Market has closed and the tourists have gone. You can enjoy a relaxing French cuisine dinner here with a good view of the water and the Market area. The food is very good.

The food was fabulous (oh so good), service was wonderful and we loved the ambiance and water view. It made the perfect date night. Highly recommend

Yelp
Wanted to wow my friend from England. She wanted a waterfront view, seafood and fancy atmosphere in the Market. So we came here. First impression was how welcoming the staff were. I believe that the owner or manager waited on us. We started out with steamed mussels and bread. The mussels had a bacon/celery/ shallot broth that enhanced the flavor of the mussels. Next, she ordered the " Northwest Bouillabaisse Prawn, clams, mussels, dungeness crab, seasonal fish, saffron-tomato broth, herb crostini." I ordered the crab cakes. We said we could not decide and he made a remark that her choice was better than mine. He was right. The crab cakes were delicious. But that Bouillabaisse was incredible. I would come back just for that. Hitting all the particulars, the view was spectacular of the waterfront. The ambience transported you from busy Market to serene French atmosphere. They have a unique drink list, we had the Peach Pigalle, which is Monopolowa vodka, péche liqueur, orange juice. Several glasses of great French white wine, we left very happy. Would come back for duck confit, escargot and this. Doesn't this sound delicious? Calamari Dijonnaise Squid, garlic, ginger, spinach, cremini mushrooms, Dijon cream sauce.

Yelp
I would have given them a 4 or 5 but the service was lacking. We all arrived at 5:40. I made it clear that we had to leave at 7 for an event, and was not told that there would be a problem at all. We had an appetizer, cocktails and bread service in a timely manner. But around 630 we still had not received our main course. Our server said that it was being plated and en route and would be "coming right up" or "a minute" several times. We were finally served about 6:50 after multiple unkept promises. So we hurried thru our meal and left at 7:10. I as host stopped having fun about 6:35 when what was promised was not happening, and my anxiety climbed by the minute, with each reassurance not being met. Perhaps not the server's fault but he was the face of the restaurant and was lying multiple times, though hopefully not intentionally. Nonetheless I was growingly anxious and it detracted from my experience. I resented having to hurry when we had a $350.00 or so bill for 4. We bought drinks a la carte and no wine. Then I note on the check a non-specified 5% service charge. I did not recall seeing this disclosed on the menu, but no matter. It meant that I just added the approximate amount of the 10% or so state tax to the bill as tip for roughly 15%. I will not tip on top of extra charges. Just charge what you want to charge and don't play this game that your industry has appeared to embrace. And 20% as a "normal" tip and up from there is a figment of the restaurant industry's imagination. Whatever is the 5% for and ought it not be part of the food price on these freshly printed menus? In terms of the food, I had the duck breast and it was fine, nicely prepared, good taste and $47.00 which was the price give or take, of most entrees. But hurrying made it far less enjoyable. One guest had the King Salmon and said it was delicious. My cocktail was interesting. I will come back, hopefully with no deadline due to a show starting, and hope for a better experience, and will see if the service charge is disclosed on the menu, which I believe is required. Remember that there is no tip credit in Washington to offset wages. So servers are already paid a "living wage" of at least around $20.00 an hour. Restaurant prices have soared. Then they want to impose a service charge, which is taxed by the way as legally required, and start playing games with tip percentages on top of already escalating menu prices. Oh, and Mr. Server, I don't want to be told you will be taking care of us. If so, I have gutters needing to be cleared and windows washed. And I will spare the more salacious ideas of what such care might entail since my imagination can't be controlled but my speech and writing can be. Want my address for the home repairs? If not, just tell me that you will be our server as it rankles me otherwise and does not endear yourself to those who do not value such imprecise and expansive language. Are we cool? Do better next time folks. You are one of the finer restaurants and atmospheres in Seattle. And thank you for a room where I have no problem hearing what is being said.

Yelp
Second time eating here and both times were excellent! We got the bouillabaisse, halibut and salmon as our entrees and shared the calamari and French onion soup as appetizers. All of it was great, and the bouillabaisse was perhaps the best I ever had. The waiter was terrific, very attentive without being overly so. The view is great and we took a few great pictures from their balcony. Highly recommend!

Yelp
We are big fans of Place Pigalle, especially on a gloomy day. Sitting at a window table over lunch, with that amazing water view, a glass of wine or cup of coffee, and the mussels or smoked salmon or french onion soup... well, it's just hard to beat. Service has always been great, the restaurant feels cozy, and we feel well taken care of.

Yelp
The food was great and the staff were friendly and helpful. They allowed me to keep my luggage in their back room so that I could walk around to do some sightseeing. Would definitely go back!!

Yelp
Oh my gosh. Unfortunately, I hadn't been here since before COVID. I took my out of town family for an early lunch. Dear HEAVEN. The duck foie gras? THAT IS A MUST ORDER. The salmon appetizer? Never have any anything with such a beautiful presentation. Then, the Endive salad? I've been dreaming about it ever since. Our waitress had THE BEST personality! She added so much to the day If you haven't been. GO! It's a lovely little spot.

Scott P.

Yelp
It was overall a wonderful dinner. The food and service were amazing. The restaurant feels very small and crowded. The decibel level from people was through the roof. Practically had to shout to talk with my wife. Prices were also through the roof. What yelp listed three years ago for Duck Confit at $24 was $40 on Dec 13, 2024.

Yelp
Service, food, and ambience was great. Pricier menu. A bit hard to find as it is tucked into Pike Place market. (By the fish market / pig, look up to pay attention to the sign pointing towards the restaurant) Definitely good to not come late at night, so you can enjoy the view of Puget sound. Highly recommend ordering the pork chops and escargot. Bread was yummy too (not complimentary) Ordered the following: - Oyster (half dozen) Definitely has better elsewhere. Was a little grainy at times - Escargot The sauce is to die for. Must order. Comes out of the shell too! - Warm Beet Salad Love the beet salad to get some greens in. - Mussels Different preparation from the normal one you expect at French places. The flavor is good, but mussels were a bit on the "seafood-y" tasting side. - Pork Chop MUST ORDER. Recommended by our server. This dish did not disappoint at all. I would come back specifically for this dish! Homemade Sambal with Sherry sauce!!!

Yelp
Not sure how to rate this. The drinks tasted very watered down for the price you pay and I had to send an Old Fashion back because it was a glass of melted ice water with very little everything else... or it was just the water weighing it down. The food tasted fantastic, the service was okay but not great. The price point is spendy so I'd only suggest it for a special occasion. The night we went was our anniversary. We got the Plateau De Fromage and Steamed Mussels Pigalle for a starter. I ordered the French Onion Soup and the duck confit as my main meal but started to feel strange partway through my duck. My partner got the clam chowder and Northwest Bouillabaisse. Unfortunately I got very sick an hour or so after getting home and vomited half of my meal. We did tell the waitress that I couldn't have scallops and nothing that we ordered listed it as an ingredient but maybe something got missed and that was the cause of my incident. Just make sure you stress any allergies several times during your order. The view from our table was nice....

Yelp
Awesome little French spot right inside Pike Place Market (just behind where they throw the fish). I had the cassoulet - the flavor and texture made for the perfect comfort food. Service was friendly, and the red Bordeaux was delicious.

Yelp
Place Pigalle is a classic French bistro hidden in a back corner of Pike Place Market in Seattle. Nearby parking is difficult, but there are plenty of expensive, downtown paid lots nearby. The interior space is attractive with some views of Puget Sound. Menu selection is pretty narrow, but there were a few appealing options for me. Food quality was great, well in line with cost and delicious. Service was very good - prompt, flexible and able to accomodate our young child. We have been to this restaurant a few times before this visit. Every experience has been similar - we like the food, but there aren't enough choices to come back too often. Recommended if you like the choices.

Geoffrey H.

Yelp
One of the best Pike Place gems. The escargot and chowder are worth a drop in visit at the bar. Stay for dinner - but fall in love with the story and history of the restaurant - steeped in the history of Seattle and Pike Place. Service remembers a familiar face and goes out of their way to make sure you feel welcome and leave with a full belly of great local foods.

Yelp
Quaint little place. Very friendly staff. We tried the Oyster Stew and was very pleased, never had it with Worcestershire sauce and was pleased with the flavor meld that it added to the stew!

Yelp
On a spectacularly sunny Saturday we stumbled upon Place Pigalle restaurant! On the verge of becoming mildly overwhelmed by the market's bustling atmosphere we ducked out to a passageway with views of the sound. Saw the restaurant and decided to check it out. Best move of the day, the hostess greeted us warmly and even though we had no reservation asked us to give her a few moments. The restaurant is on the smaller side with the best views. Although full, noise wasn't an issue, you could hear French music playing. We were seated at a table in the corner with impressive views of the sounds. Each ordered salads, one white wine and one iced tea. I had the warm beet salad with the dressing on the side, hubs had the Apple endive salad. Salads were perfection. Servicer's name was Hannah. Witty, professional and attentive. Nice selection of wines. I would highly recommend the iced tea. Unsweetened, crisp with a delightful minty finish!

Yelp
This restaurant has the rudest staff I ever met in my life. The hostess/waitress was unprofessional and refused us because we were 2 mn late. Luckily the restaurant Toulouse Petit greeted us with class and professionalism. Actually I recommend Toulouse Petit. The area Place Pigalle in Paris/France is more friendlier than this restaurant Place Pigalle in Seattle. Conclusions don't go th

Yelp
I truly love Place Pigalle! The best seats are on the small patio outside, but there are only 3-4 tables and they are first come, first served. Come on a weekday an hour before sunset for your best chance at getting one. The service is divine, everyone we interacted with was top notch. Our server was so kind, attentive, and kept track of all of our requests really well. They really brought the experience to the next level. The patio is stunning. You can watch the sunset and take in an incredible view from the market. On colder days, there are a few tables inside with views too. The inside is really intimate and you'll feel like you're in France. The food is lovely, expensive and not large portions but very good quality. Come here for the quality and the views, don't come to eat a large meal! I treated myself to oysters and scallops and was very happy with both. They also had a lovely French rosé. This is my go to for date nights and special occasions!

Yelp
Though people seem to love this place, my wife and I left this eatery with a mixed feelings the afternoon. Both setting and service were great, but the food, , , less than mediocre unfortunately. We shared five dishes including onion gratin soup from the menu, and none of them were memorable, meaning that we won't be going back for any of them. I seriously wonder if this is the Seattle thing or more about French cooking in the US at large, or my taste buds are too spoiled as I recently came back from 5 weeks stay in Japan. Well, there is Le Pichet near by, but they only serve onion gratin soup in winter season. The herb butter in the Escargot had something unpleasant in it, Tarragon, may be? French Onion Gratin Soup had heavy load of uncooked-off wine, enough alcohol to make a small kid drunk. Liver Patè also had too much Cognac. Baguette was over baked to the point where the crust was too heavy. Daily Quiche had crust that was too thick and hard and dry. Accompaniment field greens were bruised. White Truffle Chicken salad was just average without hardly any truffle flavor. I guess I just have to keep searching for better bistro food around here. If you are looking for French style food in romantic setting, but the food quality is not so important, this will be the place.

Yelp
I'm in town for a couple nights and a friend insisted I come here. I would never normally come to a place like this on my own, but Sushi Kashiba is closed on Tuesdays so I went. So glad I did. Soon as I opened the door and heard the jazz band and saw the small crowded space I loved it. The band is on the floor basically surrounded by tables, it's awesome. I sat at the bar and Sammy made me a great old fashioned. The bouillabaisse was fantastic (a little heavy on the squid, but great nonetheless) and the vibe was on point. It feels like a NY spot. I'll definitely come back next time I'm in Seattle.

Yelp
Food and service was fantastic. Nice view if you can get near a window. Tight space but enjoyed the experience.

Yelp
SO EXCITED! Just made reservations for Place Pigalle in Seattle for dinner next week! The reviews are fantastic, and the delightful man named Randy was a delight on the phone! What a great start! I will take a leap and give it a preliminary 4-Stars (otherwise, they won't let me post this)...stay tuned! HURRAY!!! Please forgive the delay in my update...two new kittens from NOAH...adorable but should have been named "Domestic" and "Terrorist," hahahaha! Love them, but I digress... The Food: FANTASTIC! The Service: EVEN BETTER! Do not try this at home, but I was late. My fault; SIRI and I do not always get along. I am not saying she gave me bad directions...but...just saying...she can be...but, again, I digress. They are located lock, stock, and barrel right in the middle of Pike Place Market! Yep! Right there! It is delightful! There are no bad seats! It is cozy, it is small, heck, it is a bit of tight quarters, and yet it feels intimate, not claustrophobic. AND...they smile. Your server actually knows the menu. AND...they treat you as a guest instead of an imposition!!! No, I am serious! ORDER THE ESCARGOT. You will thank me! Garlicky, buttery...yum! Read less

Yelp
Family and I had lunch at this French bistro in Seattle yesterday and it was truly a special treat. The soup, the muscles, and the smoked salmon appetizer were spectacular. The entrées we had crab-cakes, or the halibut, or the seafood stew all looked and tasted amazing. This place is something special, not inexpensive but well worth the price.

Yelp
Second time here and everything was as good as I remembered. Excellent service, outstanding food, quiet and understanding interior with a gorgeous view of the water with the Olympic mountains in the distance. Everything was just perfect.

Yelp
Came in for a dinner reservation for two, we were sat at a beautiful window right by the water. The service was thorough and thoughtful. Our waitress Ariana was also thinking a head about what we would be needing for our up coming courses. The wine and food were scrumptious. Mussels, onion soup, endive salad, lamb rack and scallops were all to die for. Place Pigalle never misses! We will continue to be faithful customers!

Yelp
Restaurant was charming and we were lucky enough to be seated right in front of a window with a great view of the wheel and water across to West Seattle. Our waitress was fantastic and cracked jokes with everyone across the restaurant. I had the mussels which were absolutely delicious, I've never had them prepared similarly before. Also quite enjoyed the wine and baguette. All in all it was a lovely find in the market and great for a date or impressing out of town visitors.

Yelp
Its our 49th wedding anniversary and we are spending the weekend in Seattle. Previously had a great meal at Place Pigalle so returned for lunch after checking in at hotel. Really enjoyed our drinks, meal, and super friendly service by server named Sassy. Started with Beet salad and Bitter Greens and White Beans. Shirley chose the daily pasta special and me the Steak Frites cooked medium rare. Since it was our anniversary we started with Tuscan Lemon Drops and we each had a glass of Oregon Portlandia Pinot Noir. Skipped dessert. Wished we were local so we could be regulars.

Yelp
It's all about the view and location. What a perfect setting for this beautifully tucked restaurant at pikes market overlooking the waterfront. It's small, cozy and quaint. Just a perfect setting for someone wanting to experience seattle! Food however is average at best! First, the server said because the crab cakes were small there would be 3 of them on a plate, BUT when it came, there was only 2 small ones! For the price, that was a ripoff! And it wasn't even cooked great! The calamari was good! The spinach and mushroom sauce was cooked beautifully! The duck was a bit too dry! The lentils surrounding it was cooked flavorful! Steak frites was flavorless and overcooked! Steak even though swimming in Demi glacé was dry and tough. The fries were more like crumbs. Just not done right! Again, highly disappointed and dissatisfied with the crabs and price point on it. Overall i would go back maybe for the location and have just the salad! The food was not to expectations so save your money! Plenty of nice places around that area you can spend it at!

Yelp
My group enjoyed our meal here. It revived my hope in onion soup, in a sense that I understand now why some people like it, even if it's not my thing. Steamed Mussels Pigalle is a must, order some bread to soak up the juice as well, every bite counts on this dish. Our pan seared duck breast is also very good, all cooked to perfection with crunchy skin and medium rare meat. Only thing that wasn't quite to my liking is how long it took for our main dish to come, almost 1.5 hours after we sit down. I would recommend having quite some extra time to spend at the restaurant, and enjoy the food!

Yelp
Great restaurant for solid French classics amongst tourist traps. We enjoyed everything we ordered. The interior is well-loved and cozy with a great view of the water. The service was outstanding. Our server even offered to move us to a better table with a view once the previous party got up. We'd definitely go back!

Yelp
Albeit a smoky September view during my first dinner at Place Pigalle, you can be sure it offers perhaps the best view of all restaurants in Pike Place Market. The 5+ window tables are a delight, with good views from nearly all the other tables, too. Our server was a true professional - attentive without interrupting, knowledgeable about wine pairings, ready to help us choose our courses, and friendly. The saffron chowder was superb with extremely fresh baguette. The duck confit cassoulet was perfectly prepared. Our cocktails were interesting and delicious. I can't wait to visit Place Pigalle again.

Yelp
What a great find tucked away at Pike Place Market overlooking the Sound! We were going to an event at Benaroya Hall and this was an easy walk and a glorious sunset! I had the mixed greens and loved the matchstick apples and pepitos as well as the dressing, though I did find the salad salty at times which was unexpected. I ordered the Scallops and they were perfectly seared and on a bed of risotto with asparagus. My friend had the pork chop and said it was the best one she's had! Service was friendly but I overheard another table being told the specials which we weren't. Not a big deal but I do wish we had known what was offered.
