Discover Chef Matthew Kenney’s chic vegan sanctuary in Beverly Hills, where inventive plant-based dishes and organic wines shine amidst a stunning outdoor patio.
Bottomless Breakfast Returns at West Hollywood’s the Butcher’s Daughter - Eater LA
"Chef Matthew Kenney’s acclaimed restaurant Plant Food + Wine has announced that it’s relocating from its longtime home on Venice’s Abbot Kinney Boulevard to the Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles in Beverly Hills, where it will serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner starting July 20. Kenney’s menu will include everything from smoked tofu Benedict with tomatoes, spinach, English muffin, and turmeric hollandaise at breakfast to kimchi wraps with Napa cabbage, cilantro, and kimchi foam come dinnertime." - Karen Palmer
"COVID-19 Update: Open for takeout and delivery.
When the long-standing Axe shut its doors, a lot of West Siders were pretty bummed—but then chef Matthew Kenney, a force in the plant-based movement, swooped in to take over the space, turning the upstairs into a plant-based cooking academy. The place still has a light, low-key vibe, with exceptional outdoor seating; the difference is the menu is now completely vegan. Kenney’s restaurants across the country all do things with veggies and nuts that you don’t see anywhere else. They’re known for their aged-nut-cheese plate, fantastic salads, and the (amazing) curried cauliflower tacos.

Plant Food + Wine Review - East Village - New York - The Infatuation
"If the Real Housewives of NYC ever have a vegan dinner, there’s a good chance it’ll happen at Plant Food + Wine. Even the plants in this sleek, all-black, East Village spot have individual spotlights to show off their tiny pores. You’ll find the best vegan cheese plate we’ve ever had, plus incredible bread and butter (which is worth the $8), and a veggie burger that’s too good to eat on camera." - Nikko Duren
I recently had the pleasure of dining here, and I must say it was an unforgettable experience.
The menu was a culinary adventure, offering a variety of innovative and delicious plant-based dishes that were beautifully presented. Each dish was a work of art, with a perfect balance of flavors and textures that left me wanting more.
The highlight of the meal was the dessert, which was not only visually stunning but also incredibly delicious. I couldn't believe that vegan food could taste this good!
The service was impeccable, with attentive staff who were knowledgeable about the menu and offered great recommendations. The ambiance was cozy and romantic, making it a perfect spot for a date or a special occasion.
Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a unique and unforgettable dining experience. The food, service, and ambiance were all exceptional, and I can't wait to go back again soon!

Simple menu of well crafted vegan plates. Food was flavorful. The wine list is hand picked and appropriate for the dishes.
Service was very helpful, fun, and efficient.
Lovely atmosphere, especially in the back patio.
Price to value ratio was unbalanced, very expensive for relatively simple plates.

First, we were greeted by a very sweet & beautiful hostess. She had fantastic style we well! Sara our server made this quite the most pleasant experience. Besides the quality of service she provided, she was knowledgeable about all the items on the menu & did a superb job at recommending all of the delicious food that we ordered.
Food was a little on the pricey side but I cant complain as I did not end up paying for it; surprise treat from my friend. Either way, worth the price even if I did.
We ordered a handful of items off the menu, some my buddy knew from previous experience & some came from Sara's recommendations.
All in all, can't wait to go back! Thank you for everything!

Reservation experience: Made a reservation on Yelp, on the same day for Saturday evening, a few hours out.
Ambience: The place outside is unassuming. The restaurants next to it have seating on the sidewalk, so when you approach plant food+wine, it may look like you’re not in a place with a lot of bustle. Wait till you are inside. It is a home style restaurant and if you can, try and get seated in the garbed section.
Food: I liked the kimchi dumplings. I thought they were good but I couldn’t really taste the kimchi. The cashew raclette would have been good, if not for some boiled pieces of potato added in. It also didn’t pack a flavorful punch. It was quite subtle. The racklette was supposed to come with sourdough bread and while this was a good bread, it was not sourdough. May be San Francisco has me spoiled but I know a good sourdough when I taste one. I ordered raw zucchini lasagna and while the taste was good and I liked the experimentation, I’m not sure if it was worth the money. My friend absolutely was not a fan of the maitake mushroom over peas. With the experience we had, we didn’t even bother getting dessert.
Wait staff: Absolutely amazing wait staff. I enjoyed our interaction and their recommendations.
Value for money: NOPE. Your money is better spent elsewhere.

I wanted to love this place. It’s easily a 5/5 on ambiance, making it feel like a place to celebrate something special. The details — from the cat in the yard (Maitaki) to the stunning dishwater — make it feel canonically Venice. However, the Thai curry left me wanting something more distinctive. It felt bland — it is seemed like a lost opportunity for the team to create something memorable. On the other hand, the cream pie was a brilliant minimalistic masterpiece.
Next time I return, I’ll probably go for drinks and dessert only. But I do recommend that every vegan in LA give this iconic restaurant a go.

This is by far my favorite restaurant!! I visited 3 years ago and fell in love. I knew I had to come back again. I even went to the one in NYC a couple of years back. The food is absolutely delicious. You completely forget it's vegan. Each meal is perfectly hand crafted and the way ingredients are paired together is astounding. It's an art!
We had Will as our server this evening and he was friendly, accommodating and gave great recommendations. We dined outside and loved the vibe, the string lights, the multitude of plants. The heat lamps are an awesome touch to take the edge off a chilly evening. We had a wonderful experience and will certainly be back!

Umm. Sorry, no for dinner. Prices are too high, quantity are small. I know this is a plant based spot but Flavors could be better developed. (Sestina for eg does a better job)
This spot, especially outside has a romantic ambience so we went for Mother’s Day. Malbecs were not so great, and we literally left after trying 3 of their items. Two of the three were mains, the cauliflower dish was better than the other two we ordered. We ended up with a pretty large check, hungry and disappointed. Even the presentation could be better. Next time, I am going next door to Felix or Butchers Daughter for dinner. Maybe we ordered the wrong stuff or perhaps their lunch items are cheaper, but in any case, customer beware.

Went to a birthday celebration with a group of non vegans and was pleasantly surprised by the selection. Between the 6 of us, we ordered 7 items plus 2 desserts and shared them. My favorite was the kimchi dumplings and celeriac. I definitely prefer the hot dishes more than the cold. The 6 of us all thought the food was great and would like to go back there again!
