Experience a vibrant New Orleans-inspired pub serving up delicious Cajun and Creole dishes with great drinks and live jazz for a lively night out.
"A unique and very colourful pub named after a small city in Louisiana and with a menu centred around Creole and Cajun traditions. Dishes like gumbo with okra, blackened chicken, and crawfish with corn and potatoes are carefully cooked and packed with flavour. Big Easy style cocktails add to the fun." - Michelin Inspector
"In Plaquemine Lock, London has a decidedly pubbish pub in Angel making Creole food in the form of po’boys, oysters rockefeller, and shrimp and grits. In truth, you don’t really come here for the food. It’s mostly passable (but lacking some of the oomph you would hope to find around Louisiana), but it’s a comfortable bar and dining area for a few drinks and some fried snacks. More compelling is its toe-tapping atmosphere, with live jazz playing daily in the evenings and Saturdays from midday onwards." - Jake Missing
"The 10 Bells Rags Band are a self-described ‘New Orleans-loving, London-living, fine-looking jazz band’ and they can be the soundtrack to your Thanksgiving at the Plaquemine Lock. The Creole-style restaurant in Islington is also serving up turkey gumbo and undefined amounts of bourbon. A pretty good combination if you ask us." - jake missing
"Jacob Kenedy’s Islington restaurant is acclaimed for its Cajun and Creole cuisine." - James Hansen
"Louisianian gastropub Plaquemine Lock never fails to pull out the stops with its 12” po boy sandwiches — this year’s unique Christmas riff is no different. Moist slices of roast turkey are laid to rest in a toasted carb boat with a sweet and spicy combo of cranberry and jalapeño before being joined by lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, and mayo. Nothing fancy, just good flavours." - Lucas Oakeley
