"Because the poke trend absolutely refuses to die, NYC-based chain Pokeworks has plans to bring nine additional outposts of the fast-casual poke spot to Houston in the coming months. There are currently two locations of Pokeworks open in Houston, and another in Pearland, and another is set to debut at 1609 Post Oak Lane in February. No word yet on where (or when) the other restaurants will open as of yet. The Houston locations are part of a major expansion for Pokeworks, which has 130 restaurants across the country either open or in the works." - Amy McCarthy

Google
Amazing experience everytime I visit the Pokeworks across the street from my new job in the Galleria area, the food is always tasty, fresh, and my order has never been wrong! Jordan & Jonah give exceptional service every single time, I literally have to fight the temptation to not visit here every single day. 10 stars if I could! Highly recommend

Google
Elianna helped me on my most recent trip! Service is always friendly and fast - location is always clean! Love grabbing some quick poke on the go!

Google
Pokeworks is one of my favorite options for poke near the Galleria area. The protein options are fresh, as well as the add-ons, and the sauces are very well made. I suggest you get the three protein bowl and then add all the colors of your deliciousness served with a smile, along with a wanton soup, and a lilikoi juice! Let me know how it went!

Every time I come here the place is clean and calm. It’s a wonderful place to eat. The food is always fresh and the staff are such wonderful people. Andy makes amazing burritos! And tonight I came in after having a bad day and they all cheered me up, it was like I was getting some free therapy while getting some good nutrition! So glad I live around the corner!

Google
I eat here at least once a month! Service is great - Toni helped me out most recently and he exhibited amazing customer service. I’d recommend this place to anyone craving Sushi in the Uptown area.

Christian McClure

Google
Aliana provided top tier customer service and made an even better bowl. Highly recommend

Google
today i tried the yuzu ponzu salmon bowl and it was the best poke ive ever had. alix was super helpful recommending it to me today. he was direct and quick and friendly. this is my first time, but i will definitely be coming back to this place.

Google
I usually go to this location for lunch a few times a month since it is close to my work. It’s a little busy, but the line usually flows quickly. Today, I had trouble ordering through the app so I called in my order for pick up so I could easily head into work. They were very polite and friendly and got it right! When I got there for pick up, I asked for their new chili crisp oil on the side. It’s soooo good!! I love that crisp/crunch that it gives the poke bowl. I will definitely be adding it to all my future bowls. Love this place!

Yelp
Workers were very welcoming and cooperative. Food was very good and had no mistakes with my food. Definitely recommend for those who live on this side of town and who love poke.

Yelp
I'm so disappointed! I've come to this location specifically for months straight because I was confident it was the best location in town- always so friendly, fresh and clean... but suddenly the quality of service, freshness of fish, and overall cleanliness of the restaurant have decreased substantially! The manager had his paperwork sprawled out all over one of the tables, he was yelling across the restaurant at four new hires who were more concerned with their own conversation than the customer in front of them, and the food stations were unkept - everything mixed together and bits and pieces between the separated sections. I usually eat at the location quietly, but I felt the need to say something to the team about how uncomfortable they were making their customers. Instead of owning up to their poor quality of service, they teamed up against me and bullied me out of the restaurant, honestly they should all be fired! They need to get their shit together!! Never going back :(

Sarah K.

Yelp
Just paid $27 for the smallest poke bowl I've ever seen. I got salad as the base and they're being stingy on lettuce??? I used to order from here all of the time, but clearly they're gone down hill. Save your money -and order go somewhere else.

Yelp
5 stars because of Jordan's (the catering manager) customer service. I've never tried a poke bowl before, he broke my cherry & treated me well his recommendations were good, and his hospitality was superb. Thank you Jordan!!

Melchor G.

Yelp
Jordan and his team at 1609 S Post Oak Ln are always on top of things with excellent customer service! It's always an experience especially when we are welcomed with ALOHA every single time! The place is always clean and the food is always fresh! Nothing more to say other than can't wait till my next visit!

Stephanie H.

Yelp
A coworker recommended this place and was excited to try it. When I got there the place was nice and it had a good amount of people which game me hopes. Once I got my food and began to eat it, all the hopes disappeared. The food was bland and very sticky. The rice would clump and soak any flavor the bowl had. I wasn't able to enjoy even half of it with any good bites. It was since to try but probably won't come back

Apryl M.

Yelp
5 Star ***** Service "SHOUT OUT" to Christian for helping me put together my first poke bowl at Pokeworks! I was craving sushi for lunch and decided to try this place. When I first walked in...I can't lie, I was intimated looking all the choices...LOL Anyway, I asked about the bowls and how to put one together and Christian explained the setup what to add etc. He even let me taste the spicy tuna which I loved!! Nice change from the usual lunch suspects. I'll be back to try another bowl to see if I can top the deliciousness I just experienced today. Support local and let's keep their place alive and well.

Michelle Y.

Yelp
Eh good but not as good as the Yale location. Food tasted fine even though I was a bit reluctant to eat it. I tried not to eat the half part of my bowl where the guys shirt kept sweeping over my food. It grossed me out thinking it's the same shirt he goes to the bathroom with. Yuck touching my food.. when he grabs the toppings or items that's further away he reaches over on a way that his shirt sweeps over part of my bowl and touches the food. I kept staring at his shirt but I don't think he even noticed that it sweeped over and touched the food multiple times:( the drink options here aren't as good as then other location. Their bathroom door is also not fixed and has a sign that says to knock since the lock isn't working properly...

Jay H.

Yelp
Jordan, the manager, is great. He's always upbeat and seems to care for the store as if he owns it. The S. Post Oak location is always pristine and the food is always good. I love the burrito. Thanks Jordan and staff!

John B.

Yelp
This Pokeworks location on Post Oak has the Best team in Houston. Jordan is an Exceptional leader, and Andy and Jonah are Awesome. If you are looking for great food with excellent service, this restaurant is the place to go. Thank, John P.S. Andy should be in the Hall of Fame of Best service for employee at a restaurant!

Jeannie K.

Yelp
The staff is nice and the food is fresh. The large leaves me really full so the regular should be fine. I always make my own and throw in everything that's not fried. The torch option is nice for people who are scared of raw fish. Poké places have popped up all over town and have come and gone in the last few years, but this is my happiest poké find.

Daniel C.

Yelp
We needed a quick dinner and saw pokeworks while walking around and figured we could try it. We got a big poke bowl - double portion. The fish was very fresh. There's tons of options to pick from and they load up the bowl well for you. Veges and toppings were fresh as well! We also got the spam sushi which is delicious if you're a spam lover. Cooked spam on a bed of sushi rice held together by seaweed - pretty large portion too. Takes at least 5-6 bites to finish. Price: reasonable pricing for what you get:

Bridget R.

Yelp
Great lunch spot, they only take card now. Friendly staff and fresh ingredients. If I heard "kale noodles" I would pass, but I saw them, tried them and LOVE them. Going to pass on the spicy tuna and get regular and add my own spice. Taste like there is almost a citrus tinge in there, which I a sure most people love.

Lisa F.

Yelp
The best customer service!! Jordan and the girl working tonight (please forgive me I forgot her name) were so welcoming and kind. Best experience at a Pokeworks ever

Tommy K.

Yelp
Convenient from work, always tastes good and good service. Ivy was really nice today chatting with my family in the line. Always can count on this location! Jordan always remembers my name!

Louise F.

Yelp
Kat and the team were great! They got us in and out quickly and were super nice great quick lunch.

Jenny L.

Yelp
it is pretty good, i enjoyed it and i'm glad i got to try it out. service was nice and there was lots of options although they did not have eel sauce.

Parker H.

Yelp
The service is great, the food is great, there is really nothing else to say other then you are missing out if you have not eaten here before.

Crystal R.

Yelp
I honestly love all Pokeworks locations. This one has plenty of room, very clean and very bright inside. I always love their options for the poke bowls. I normally get regular size with sushi rice and that comes with 2 meats...it's very filling. They have several sauces to choose from, toppings, and extras. Most are free, except for avocado is extra. Service was good, employees were friendly... Great either option for "fast" food.

Jennifer V.

Yelp
Ok, this may be my favorite PokeWorks I've been to. I'd give 6 stars if I could. The servings are massive (!!!!) and the employees were very fast. We came around weekday lunchtime and there were lots of business people grabbing lunch since this location is near lots of workplaces. The food tasted fresh as usual. You can see how the food barely fits in the bowl-- truly large portions! They gave so much nori at the end

Rocket D.

Yelp
Very good food!!! 10/10 try it again! Very good service very quick and easy! The feeling was relaxed and nice feel! Jordan was really welcoming!

Honey O.

Yelp
I've been coming to pokeworks for the past 4 years and I love it so much! It's my go to food. I wish I could make it myself, but everytime I come to the galleria location Te'hmi and Envy always help me make the most amazing bowls! I highly recommend them, everyone is so nice warm helpful and welcoming, including the manager Jona! 5 star experience everytime!

Dominique D.

Yelp
I have been craving poke for a few weeks so I decided to try Pokeworks since it's in my area and they did not disappoint!! The employees are friendly and welcoming. Upon walking in no matter what an employee will greet you in some sort of way. I ordered the poke your way where you're able to build your own bowl. I chose spicy tuna and regular salmon, kale noodles, mixed greens, and ALL OF THE VEGGIES AND most of the TOPPINGS that they offer. The fish was fresh and flavorful. Actually I'm going to just go ahead and say the at all of the ingredients they offer is fresh and yummy. I wasn't sure about the sauces since it was my first time so I told the young lady what I like and she hooked up her own concoction. I believe is was the wasabi aoli and the soy sauce based one. This was probably the best poke bowl I've ever had. The employees aren't shy when it comes to asking for extra toppings and I love the fact that they will let you know before hand if whatever you're asking for is an up charge. My bowl was filled above the rim. They were Definitely busy however the establishment remained clean. All of the employees had on their mask. Consider me a regular. Ps. If you sign up for their emails you get $5 off of your first order and if you checkin you get a free miso soup.

Leslie H.

Yelp
Great lunch spot. Go here almost daily. Friendly faces too. Thanks Kat! Will be back.

Lili M.

Yelp
Always good food, when I come here. If you are looking for a clean, refreshing, and healthy option. I've tried several combinations here and I like everyone. I make my own bowl and add what ever I'm in the mood for. Wasubis are a yummy snack composed of white race and spam. When I heard spam, I didn't think I would like this, but it was soooo good. I also tried the miso soup. It was a good side for my bowl.

Daniel J.

Yelp
Great service from Jordan and the team! Always fun to go for lunch and grab a poke bowl, makes my day

Gery H.

Yelp
I absolutely love this place. Friendly faces, quick service, fire food. Shout out to Ivy

Shonda M.

Yelp
Delicious! My coworker and I came here for lunch while we were in town for a conference. The food was on point! I ordered one of the pre-constructed bowls, and my coworker created his own. Everything was super fresh and very delicious! As an added bonus, I checked in here on Yelp before we arrived and was able to get a free Miso soup! You never know if Miso Soup will be good or too fishy, but I'm pleased to report that it was excellent. I'm sad I don't live closer to this place because I would definitely make it a regular stop. Highly recommend for anyone who enjoys Poke Bowls! I will definitely come back, if I find myself in the vicinity in the future.

Jennifer S.

Yelp
The staff was amazing and the poke bowl options are endless! Everything was so delicious

Alexandra A.

Yelp
Was super fresh and delicious. I am gonna go back and try the poké burrito next time. $15 for the bowl but they give you a lot of protein, and I suggest the sweet chili sauce it was so good with the salmon.

Nia S.

Yelp
UPDATE!! See pics for Winnie's response. *** I see where they get their customer service from ! Businesses stop being so insecure about Yelp Elites leaving reviews! Take the feed back and learn from it! And while you're at it educate yourself on the yelp star ratings...2 Stars = Meh. I've experienced Better. It's not the end of the world! Fix the issue! **** -------------------------------------------- Yesterday around 2PM I finally found the time to visit pokeworks for lunch. First impression -- it seemed clean and spacious. I wasn't sure where to go to start my order. There was a rod on group of people staying in a huddle and I guess one of the employees saw the confusion on my face and ushered me over to him. He asked me what I wanted my base to be? And I informed him that this was my first time and I had not idea what to do. He chuckled and then waited for me to figure it out instead of breaking it down. (FYI - you can choose 2 meat options minimum for $10.50-something I wish I was told. I only picked one.) I went with the spicy tuna and picked a few of my favorite veggies. I wanted a sweet sauce and asked the girl who was on the sauce station to recommend one. She mumbled something..I couldn't really hear her and asked her to speak up but she just looked at me in a daze. Anywho. After paying I was finally able to escape the weird customer service I received and went home to eat. To my dismay it definitely was not worth the wait. It was simply "okay". It did have a nice little spicy kick to it but there's nothing special about it .. I even ended up adding my own salad dressing to it. ---------------------------------------------

Yelp
I am really disappointed that my pickup order was missing soo many things in the bowl. How did they manage to miss the seaweed salad, surimi salad, onion crisps and garlic crisps? Not to mention they gave me the tiniest amount of mango. I guess this is the risk I take in doing pickup. The place did seem busy but that's no excuse to not pay attention to detail. Im struggling with the rating. My bowl was unsatisfying but I' hate to give a 2. The salmon was fresh so I'll give them that.

Carolyn S.

Yelp
Stopped in for a quick bite and it was clean and the staff were very welcoming. They had options for me (dietary restrictions), my husband (seafood restrictions) and our friend (enjoys oddities) and everyone was happy. We left full and will return soon.

Claudia F.

Yelp
The girls ordered for work on Sunday fun day! This is my first time ordering from this company, and I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious and fresh everything was. It was not overly greasy or heavy or sweet or salty, everything was perfect. I typically don't eat out much but if running around I will go here!

Yevgeniy L.

Yelp
This place is amazing, great owner he paid for me, because they don't accept cash, and the bowl is Amazingly taste large bowl for 17$ is an amazing price with outstanding quality!!!

Erick F.

Yelp
This, my friends, was an opportunity for me to expand my pallet. Well, kinda.... let me explain. This was definitely my first time every trying a poke bowl of any kind. I was amazed by the portion size. Second, the concept that Pokeworks has, maybe it's like this everywhere else, but here you can either do a signature bowl or a build your own. I went with the recommended Spicy Ahi bowl. This was a pleasant meal. Absolutely will be returning. You can customize it with endless toppings from extra meat to fruits, veggies and everything in between. They have a bit of everything to make the dining experience for your taste buds delightful. Spicy Ahi: 10/10, next time I will go with light sauce As a treat, I also ordered a garlic spam musubi. This is a absolute banger!!!!!!! 11/10. Add a little sriracha and the rest is history.

Britney G.

Yelp
I was pretty pleased with this poke spot considering it is a chain restaurant. They have several locations nationwide. Here is why I was impressed. The protein options are plentiful with choices of tuna, salmon, spicy versions of each, albacore, scallops and shrimp. The greatest test to a good sushi or poke spot is to taste the quality scallops they use. So I did. I ordered a 3 scoop mix of tuna, salmon and scallops. I began topping it with all my favorites and enjoyed my meal. And yes, the scallops were very fresh! The other thing I was impressed with was the gluten free options with regards to sauces. These are clearly denoted on their online menu. The servers were also very knowledgeable about GF needs as well. And for a large serving with 3 scoops of protein, I was fully satiated. And for a pretty reasonable price of $16 with tip. I would have given five stars if they offered some more unique toppings similar to other competitors in the Houston area. Follow me on my way to Foodietown! http://britneygfoodie.yelp.com

Yelp
I LOVE this place. They have the best employees. Everything runs quickly and efficiently and the place is always very clean. I eat this several times a week through Door Dash. I even had an employee ask if I was who gets it ordered as she recognized my order! That's personable and I appreciate it. The food is very fresh and healthy. It accommodates all types of diets. I love the burrito but typically get the sushi bowl. I love it because you can get very full and still feel good about what you're eating. I also like the addition of lotus root, seaweeds and other toppings typically not seen in American food much less fast food.

Diane B.

Yelp
I love the Spicy Ahi, it's has tons of flavor. Its good any time, but I really like it when I'm staving and want plenty to eat. It pretty spicy, but I still I add some Wasabi and a little mango to balance it out and extra cucumbers. They have plenty of extra to add, I am stuff and I feel good. The seafood is always fresh. I also get the Surimi Salad for later.

Dan R.

Yelp
Make sure you get there early if you come to pick up lunch. They are incredibly busy. Great fresh ingredients. Delicious.

April G.

Yelp
I order here on Uber eats quite often. I love the make your own bowl. The prices are a bit pricey for me but I don't mind it every once in a while. Ingredients are always fresh!

Tonia W.

Yelp
I am obsessed with this store. Super fresh fish, lots of awesome toppings, you can make it healthy or indulgent because everything is customizable, and it's conveniently located where the old Gigi cupcakes used to be. There's plenty of parking, in front and on the side by Total Wine. I was so excited to hear that they are opening this location and it did not disappoint. I highly recommend!

Sasha E.

Yelp
This is probably my favorite poke chain. I always get a large build your own poke bowl. That comes with three scoops of protein - filling and won't leave you feeling like a balloon afterwards. I fill it with Quinoa, 3 Salmon, Edamame, Hijiki Seaweed, Heavy Pokeworks Classic sauce, topped with Avocado, Ginger, Masago, and Shredded Nori. Yum! You can add more protien for 3 or 4 extra dollars but I personally think the large bowl (3 scoops) is plenty. There's plenty of ingredient options to add into your bowl, it's fantastic. Perhaps a little bit of a nightmare for first comers but they've also got some popular mixes in their Signature Works menu if you don't know exactly what you should mix into your bowl. Their fish is fresh and has a good texture. You can tell the quality is great. It's really why I keep coming back here.

Tim N.

Yelp
Wouldn't normally write a second review for a chain restaurant, but this is definitely my favorite poke spot in Houston. Luckily my workplace is right next door and walking distance, so it was a popular spot for lunching with the team. This particular Post Oak location is my wife and I's favorite due to the great/quick service, large portions (they are generous with the fish!), and cleanliness. My go-to order is a spring mix (or half kale noodle- try it, quite tasty!), two scoops of salmon, extra cucumber, cilantro, edamame, jalapeno, serrano pepper, medium ponzu fresh (sometimes light volcano sauce), green onion, surimi, seaweed salad, masago, thai chili, and lotus chips. As you can see, I load it up and absolutely love the spicy level. Plus side, none of these items are extra which is a big plus against competitors. My only con is that they got rid of the szechuan chili oil that was delicious and added even more of a kick. Tips - recommend getting the app for rewards points, and taking advantage of periodic deals they send via email or app such as $3 off a bowl, or buy one get one free, or 15% off, or buy $25 gift card and get a free entree.... you get the picture, they are all about marketing and it is highly effective. Give them a try, at their many locations, but if you are near this one it's a no brainer.

Siri S.

Yelp
This location just opened up, and I'm glad my sister and I got to try it before it gets super popular and way crowded. Staff was really nice and friendly (and funny!)--really appreciate that. We both got regular bowls, and it was a very good amount of food for the price. Plus, the flavor was delicious; I was planning to save half for lunch tomorrow but it was all gone before I knew it! Definitely recommend coming here, and you best believe we're coming back! (They also use Door Dash, by the way.)

Yen-Chi L.

Yelp
Love the quick, fast service in a clean, bright environment. The assembly line cafeteria style serving ensures you get the perfect amount of masago and as little or as much of the wasabi burn as you want. My first time here. My gold standard is quite high since I lived in Hawaii for 6 years. The Hawaiian Classic with half salmon, half tuna on a bed of greens did not disappoint. The fish was ocean fresh and cut into perfectly munchable chunks. I chose greens as my base and it was the quintessential 100 degrees outside meal. Refreshing with enough bite from the lava sauce to leave you with a warm tingle.

Thao T.

Yelp
Our poke bowls were well prepared and very delicious! It was my friends' first time getting poké, and they really really enjoyed it. The staff were friendly and helpful, but they frequently left to go smoke outside. Other than that, it was an enjoyable trip, we would come again!

hi G.

Yelp
I've been ordering pokeworks from ubereats. I can definitely say that this location has been on the decline lately. Once I had my sauce completely missing from my 2 bowls when I requested them on the side. Who eats poke without sauce?? The other time, my poke was completely drenched to the point that it was not enjoyable. I don't understand the decline of quality but I will be ordering from the greenway location from now on.

Vivian N.

Yelp
Always quick and easy if you're craving some sushi! There's a lot of options for toppings and they're pretty affordable. I just don't know why they have mango dessert on the menu but for the past two years of coming here a handful of times, they never have it in stock....but I've never had any issues with service or wait time here so I'll still continue coming back!
