This is one of my favorite bakeries to order cakes from in Austin. We got the strawberry cake and it was so moist and flavorful without being overly sweet. I wanted an ocean inspired cake and added the decorations separately. It turned out great!

This is such a beautiful bakery, owned by a truly wonderful woman. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the cupcakes are absolutely magnificent literally some of the best I’ve ever had! You can really taste the care and quality. I’ll definitely be coming back often for more!

We had Polkadots Cake and Cupcakes for our wedding. Olga was so helpful and responsive throughout the entire planning process. The cake was delicious and the cupcake flavors were so good! I really appreciated that there was a gluten free option so that I could enjoy a cupcake on my wedding day :)

I wanted something special for my partner’s 40th birthday. She’s a baker herself and very particular. Two different people independently recommended Polka Dots. I placed the order along with some inspo images. Polka Dots absolutely nailed it. Not only did it look amazing, it tasted even better. Everyone was polite and accommodating. Definitely coming back for the kiddos bday in spring.

Just finished a cupcake it was delish! Drove by this cute place and pulled in randomly to check it out. The couple behind the counter were very kind and patiently explained the different flavors. I selected the chocolate with cream cheese frosting and loved it... I will definitely be back!

What a charming and awesome bakery. I know it's daily output is cupcakes...but WOW I saw a specialized cake, of the UT Tower, that was utterly a piece of eatable art. I bought 9 cupcakes of various flavors. I gave the owner how many I needed, the specific chosen flavors, and pick up date. She had them ready and boxed. I brought in little pics, with little paper taped to them, and she identified each flavor and I "poked it" with the flavor- and family person's name. I also visited with her and I am so impressed!! You BETCHA I will be back to Polkadots again....and again. Helpful hint: If you buy a cupcake to go...get it in a little box and a fork. I just took the cupcake in my hand and it was SOOOO moist it crumbled. My bad. She offered the box. haha. Parking in the back is easier to maneuver than in the front.

The cupcakes are PHENOMENAL!!! I can’t believe I’ve been missing out all this time! The owner is one of the nicest people you’ll ever meet and everything we tried was amazing! She also makes gorgeous cakes!

Olga is the owner and is an absolute delight to work with. Her cupcakes are far superior to anywhere else we've tried. And we've been trying a lot since we're looking for a vendor for our wedding. Not only did we find our vendor, we now have a personal addiction. Warning - Don't try the Red Velvet if you have any ideas of trying to be on a diet. It's too good. You'll keep coming back for more!

I'm not one for sweets, but I'll always have room for these cupcakes! My wife and I walked inside because she wanted cupcakes and very quickly after talking with Olga I also wanted one. Olga was fantastic and so easy to talk with. She was super helpful in deciding which one to get after we asked her what her favorites were. I'm so happy that this location is super close to my apartment because I'll be coming back as often as I can! Thank you so much Olga for being as sweet and helpful as you are!

Even though the cupcakes have gotten more pricey (I mean, what hasn't these days) I've loved Polkdadots since my college days! I'm super picky when it comes to cakes/cupcakes because I can't stand sickly sweet frosting- Polkdadots makes excellent cupcakes that aren't super sweet if that's not your thing either! I love their triple chocolate and check out their other flavors as well which change by the day!

I walked in after going to Cabo bobs to see if they sold individual cupcakes. The flavors vary some days (I went back again) but we tried the chocolate, strawberry, and lemon. They were so good I was so happy to find a cupcake that wasn't too sweet or dry. I'm tired of desserts emphasizing sugar instead of taste and moistness so was very happy with the cupcakes here :)

Polkadots really makes my favorite cupcake where I can eat the buttercream without scraping it off as I normally do with all other cupcakes because of the sweetness. The cupcake itself is moist and fluffy and not too sweet. I'm not a fan of the dense cakes. I have 2 favorites: strawberry shortcake which is a vanilla cake with strawberry buttercream and strawberry champagne which is also a vanilla cake with champagne buttercream and strawberry mousse filling. The strawberry champagne isn't available as a daily flavor so call amd check with the shop if you plan on just stopping in. I could eat one every day if my body doesn't gain weight.

BLACK BOTTOM! I don't do too many chocolate cakes/cupcakes, but the black bottom cupcake here is DELICIOUS!! Not overly sweet, extremely moist with a nice cream cheese icing to bring everything together. I hate those icings where it tastes like nothing but sugar, but every icing here is just the perfect sweetness for me, light, and fluffy. Sadly the cupcakes here can be quite costly, but definitely something worth to indulge yourself in. They also make custom cakes/cupcakes, and their look book offers some amazing designs from a huge variety of themes from the baker.

Sorely disappointed!! $4 for a cupcake that was obviously made days ago, and stored in the refrigerator. The icing was cold and hard, and the cake absolutely disintegrated to the touch, leaving a pile of sticky crumbs. I don't know if this place is a front for something else, but there's NEVER anyone in there when I've walked by (on a daily basis). I had a hankering, and it was close by, so I thought I'd give it a try (despite my misgivings/assumptions); as always, ignoring my intuition(s) failed me. You've been warned; don't make the same mistake I did.

Disappointing! I was so excited to check out this place. But I left deflated. We had the strawberry and the chocolate. The strawberry was definitely better and had a really uplifting taste. It was definitely the mark of homemade batter. But the chocolate wasn't very good. The cake was mushy mashy and the frosting was waxy and filmy. Hmmm. I don't think it's supposed to taste that way. Besides the cupcakes, I have to say that this bakery could benefit from a new display case. Right now, all the cupcakes are housed in a clear plastic shelf display that oozes with smudge prints and frosting smears. It's not just that it looks dirty. It's also a problem when you have to squint around through all the muck to see the cupcake you're about to eat. Just lose your appetite? It's a small place so I'm sure they do what they can. Upon walking in the deck furniture is really cute. The rest just left me claustrophobic.

I was in a SUPER pinch as a Pokemon cake for my son's 7th birthday was dropped by my husband days before our event. I scrambled and called Polkadots and they were so eager to help out. Everyone was so accommodating and the cake turned out PERFECT and insanely delicious! I cannot recommend them enough! Really really great!

My super sweet friend sent me cupcakes from here as a gift! But instead of surprising me with them, their delivery person texted me on their way, made me walk all the way down from my apartment during class, AND made me walk to the passenger window of her car to accept them. Really rude. She had the apartment number, the entrance was open, and there was guest parking right infront of the building. Didn't get to be much of a surprise. Cupcakes look great, though!

Olga is the best baker in all of Austin! She is endlessly creative in the flavors and designs she creates. We had to reschedule our big wedding for July 2021, but she still made us a cake for our minimony on our original wedding date of June 2020 and we were so grateful for that. We finally got to have our big celebration and she put together a dreamy dessert spread for us -- a modern bride's cake, a realistic drum groom's cake (my husband is a band director and he was so excited about his cake), mini cupcakes in four flavors and two kinds of cookies. It looked beautiful and tasted delicious -- guests were telling me how much they enjoyed the sweets and wanted to know where they were from. The cherry on top is that Olga is one of the sweetest people and kindest small business owners in town. It's now been a decade of me enjoying her treats, and I look forward to enjoying more of them for other special milestones in the future. We appreciate her time and talents, and know you will too for your big day!

I spotted this place from Cabo Bob's a couple of months ago and finally made it in. It's teenie tiny inside. The porch is neat, also small, and the furniture is kid sized for the most part. We were there late, so there were four choices left. The girl working recommended the chocolate chip cookie dough. Soooo good. The cake tastes like yellow cake, with this light, whipped, delicious chocolate icing on top. The cookie dough is at the bottom. Super good cupcake. A tad pricey, $3.50 and it's not huge, but even splitting it satisfied my sweet tooth.

I came here to get some cupcakes for my partners birthday! It's such a cute little shop near UT campus, the parking situation was not that great though so beware (there's like two spots to park). I love cupcakes and these are just the perfect amount of sweet so that it's not overwhelming. The frosting is sooo good. I recommend the strawberry cupcake!

I got two dozen cupcakes recently for a friend's birthday and had a great experience. The cupcakes were absolutely delicious and very aesthetically pleasing. It was easy to just walk in and get an assortment of cupcakes and there was no need to call ahead or put in a particular order (unless you want something specific). Their daily offerings are online and easy to access. I didn't see a lot and only parked on the street, but I didn't have trouble finding a spot! They packed my order in nice clear-top boxes (pictured). Would definitely get cupcakes here again!

Yummy light fluffy and the perfect amount sugar a cupcake can have ! I use to come here all the time during college and now I just make a excuse to come.

I'm a cupcake fiend. I love them... but am very picky. We were at Toy Joy and I happened to notice the stellar reviews for Polkadots and was so excited! Could something as amazing as Delish be this close to home?! Is it possible?! The twins and I venture in and get some cupcakes, napkins, and head back outside to enjoy what we truly hoped would be wonderful, moist, creamy frosted, melt in your mouth deliciousness that is only granted to the chosen few who can truly make a good cupcake. We were left brokenhearted. The cake was dry, the frosting less than memorable and we were so disheartened. I usually would give a place two tries before writing that the food was bad, but they had three chances with our three cupcakes, each being a total fail. We won't be back.

The cupcakes are so good! Better than Sprinkles for sure. This place is underrated. The place itself is not so pretty, but I just usually pick up.

While we were in Austin we went to 3 different places for cupcakes and this one by far was my favorite! There was something about the cupcakes here that felt that they were made with care and that they weren't "cookie-cutter" cupcakes that you sometimes get with places that have more foot traffic. We tried to swing by and grab some for our flight home - but alas they were closed. I guess we will see you next time I'm in Austin!

Best cupcakes! The flavors are amazing and you'll never come across a dry cupcake here. I definitely recommend the lemon and strawberry & cream cupcakes. Black bottom for something chocolate! I got them for my whole office and everyone raved about them. The salted cookie dough was also very popular.

THE BEST cupcakes in Austin! They have a very cute little storefront to enjoy your cupcakes there or take some to go. I also highly recommend Polkadots for any custom cake orders. I had them custom make my wedding cakes and they were the best wedding cakes I've ever tasted! I stop to pick up cupcakes whenever I'm nearby!

I won't be back. My reasons... Cupcakes taste just OK and are small. Customer Service was rude and disrespectful. Their Contactless arrangement is all wrong and unprofessional.... They want you to pay with Venmo and not everyone has Venmo. Also, to ensure there is no contact, they sit your order on a table outside. This is a great idea, but the problem is...instead of having the customer call when they arrive and sitting their order out then, they ask the customer for a time they will arrive, leaving your order to melt in the Sun if you do not arrive in time.

This little cupcake shop is quite delightful. As soon as you come in, wonderful aromas of freshly baked cupcakes tingle your nose and make your taste buds excited. This place does accept credit cards, which is nice even if you only buy 1 cupcake. As far as the menu, the flavors change each day and there is a special flavor of the month. I've tried several flavors in the past but decided to give the Triple Chocolate and Tiramisu a try this time around. Both of these cupcakes were very moist, not too oily, and baked to perfection. The cake was soft but still fluffy, and had just the right amount of air bubbles with each bite. We liked the Triple Chocolate very much. The chocolate flavor was rich, strong but not overpowering, and paired perfectly with the mild chocolate frosting. On the other hand, the Tiramisu was good but did not have a strong enough rum flavor. The cake was a little too sweet but the cream cheese dressing was tasty. It sure was nice to visit this place again. Even though the cupcakes are a bit pricey at around $3.50 each, some flavors are well worth the price. And as a plus, these cupcakes are the perfect alternative for birthday cakes. No matter how many you buy, they will be packaged inside a roomy box with special cupcake bases that will keep them safe and sound.

I don't think I can overstate how good these cupcakes are! All of the flavors are good, but the Black Bottom and the Triple Chocolate are flat-out amazing. The owner, Olga, is wonderful and the customer service is always good. It's nice to support a small business by eating delicious cupcakes :)

Although the red velvet cupcakes are great, polka is usually full of disappointments. Their customer service lacks severely and they are often out of almost every flavor of cupcake. Their heart shaped sugar cookies aren't worth the steep $4.00 (cupcakes are 3.25) that they charge for them. $16.00 for FOUR sugar cookies is a bit outrageous. Don't waste too much of your time. Head to sugar mamas instead! 2 stars for the red velvet cupcakes and the red velvet cupcakes only!

We LOVE Polkadots and Olga. We used Polkadots for our wedding and it was the best decision. We searched a lot of places for the design for our cake and Olga was the only confident baker for the design. She also had a photograph of the same design she did a few years back, so we knew she had amazing experience. The shop itself is very small but the cupcakes make up for that with big flavors (and it smells so good). We rented the cake stand from Olga and it was beautiful. She also made sure the delivery time made sense for the cake being outside and it worked out perfectly. We did not have the chance to try the cake during the wedding but we had slices packed for us to take back to the hotel and I wish we were able to take the entire cake home. It was TO DIE FOR. Actually way better than what we tasted with the cupcakes. I am extremely happy that the cake turned out so amazing, but disappointed that I could not eat it all (yes "I" not "we", I likely would not have shared with my husband - it was that good). Thank you Olga for your passion for baking and for your attention to detail, the cake was gorgeous and delicious.

I received a custom Tiramisu cake from Olga as a gift. Absolutely fantastic and delicious! Apart from the quality of the baking an presentation, customer service was incredibly personable.

I ordered a cake for my adult daughter who lives in Austin. I live in Los Angeles. Olga not only helped me but delivered the cake too. She was so helpful and accommodating. When the cake arrived it was so beautiful and I was told it tasted heavenly "one of the best cakes I've ever had". It meant a lot to have such a nice cake and the hardest part was choosing which flavor. Thank you Olga

Amazing! I have been going to Polkadots Cupcake Factory for about 10 years now. I have used them for multiple weddings and for gifts. The cupcakes are absolutely delicious. I don't usually like chocolate, but the Blackbottom cupcakes are amazing. I also love the vanilla vanilla and the strawberry! So, so delicious! I could go on, naming incredible flavors...but that would be silly. Suffice to say--they are the BEST!

This isn't the BEST cupcake vendor in Austin, but for how close it is to campus and how delicious the cupcakes are, it is pretty solid. I love their cycle of rotating flavors as well as their daily flavors, and I've had a majority of them, actually. Their cupcakes are moist and perfectly sweet, although they sort of "look" more homemade, as in the icing and presentation can look a bit sloppy sometimes. It's not much of a downside, I know, but I'd love if the cupcakes were more presentable whenever I give them as a gift or something. I really like their icing though - most of the icing I have tried is buttery, light, and fluffy, not thick and rich and overwhelming like the icing of some other cupcakes places. Favorites are probably the classic vanilla vanilla, the chocolate peanut butter, tres leches, and the strawberry shortcake. Yum.

All I can say is these were FANTASTIC cupcakes. I ordered a dozen cupcakes for a friends birthday and she was over the moon with happiness of how amazing these cup cakes tasted. They were the perfect size for you to sneak another and the frosting was spot on. During this time of the Coronavirus where it can be hard to get orders out Olga was super helpful and responsive....well done!! Thank you again for delivering these for me also..... An absolute pleasure working with you on this surprise and I will definitely order again from you. Cheers!

I placed an order for 2 dozen cookies for my friends lingerie shower. I've been following this place on Instagram for quite some time and I think her work looks amazing... You never know how it's going to taste though. I picked up the cookies and they looked perfect! All the girls loved them and they tasted GREAT. I was so pleased. Also, I grabbed two cupcakes because they looked so delicious just hanging out in my face at the counter while I was paying for the cookies. The strawberries and cream was the best thing I've ever eaten. Get one. Or seven.

I'm not a big dessert person, but I can not resist Polkadots cupcakes! All her cakes are moist and tasty. Definitely recommend her for weddings!

BINGO! I found a great cupcake shop in Austin! While randomly doing graduation errands with my friend, I had a sudden urge for cupcakes. I took out my iPhone and used my Yelp app to find this place. All I can say is, THANK YOU Yelp! This is a very small cupcake shop but their cupcakes are packed with big flavors. I tried the Dulce de Leche and Chocolate Peanut Butter. The bakers nailed it on the head on both. The cupcakes were moist and soft, just as cupcakes should be. The icing on the cupcakes are fluffy which made the entire cupcake rich and decadent. The only minor criticism I would say is that the Dulce de Leche was a little too sweet, but people have different preferences on that. I still enjoyed it a lot! I've only tried these 2 flavors, but the next time I come to Austin, I plan to try 3 of the other flavors. I'm thinking of trying Black Bottom, Banana Nutella, Chocolate Orangeberry or Lemon Blueberry.

Please listen to me...I've been to Polkadots more times than I can count. Their cupcakes are either a hit or a miss. Isn't that ridiculous? When you've been to a bakery more than once, you should know what you're getting into. It shouldn't be a guessing game but that's how it is w/ this place. The customer service is also either a hit or a miss. I'm not sure of what possessed me to keep coming back. Maybe I liked the thrill of it. It's like the woman who kept going back to her bad boyfriend, "...today he called me first! A few days ago he ignored all my calls and messages. He forgot my birthday but at least he got me a Christmas present...". There are better bakeries in Austin. If you insist on going, I suggest the Black Bottom cupcake. It's usually a "hit".

SO GOOD. And also the perfect wedding cupcake caterer. We couldn't decide on just one flavor during our cake testing so we picked SIX and every one of them was delicious. Black bottom, tres leches, red velvet, berry champagne, italian cream, stawberry. All the cupcakes were perfect on our wedding day. Olga attended to every detail that we requested, and I could not have been happier to have her as a wedding vendor. Her prices are also very fair!

Every time I've had a cupcake here, it has been so good I couldn't believe it. Every flavor. If the location was more convenient for me, I'd go here all the time. The place is also very cute and the people working there are very nice. It's hard to eat just one! I tried another cupcake place recently for my daughter's birthday party and I only ate half of it because it was just not so great and I was bored with it. Who eats half a cupcake?

I really like coming here. Not only is the place itself extremely cute, so are the cupcakes. They taste absolutely delicious, especially the Black Bottom flavor! What really makes this place special and what I love is how the people here are just as sweet as the baked goods. It's always nice to come in, talk to the person at the register and try a new flavor. I recommend this place 100% for cheap sweet fix.

Better than Hey Cupcake! I drove past Polkadots today and almost hit the curb....a cupcake shop in west campus?! OMFG!!!! I HAD TO stop in and nibble on a cupcake. My friend and I got a Lemon and Red Velvet. They were very moist and had the right amount of sweetness. The icing is great too -- its not like the sugary icing that makes you sick after two bites. It's more of a whipped cream and its ever so delicious. They were priced at $2.50/ea. (including tax). In additional to selling cupcakes, they sell cookies and maybe coffee drinks in the future? It's nice they provide complimentary chilled water. Its a rather smaller house turned shop so I wouldn't recommend coming here to study. There is also a patio for those who like to enjoy their sweet outside. Free WiFi for you nerds. The owner says she does cater -- cupcakes, cookies and cakes for a variety of events. Cute little shop; cute little box for my cupcake (free of charge) - makes for a nice first impression. The cute Red Velvet Cupcake looked up at me from its little white box, just waiting to get out. After arriving home, I set it free...to my taste buds. Its cake, although slightly crumbly, wasn't dry or hard, instead it provided some depth and substance without feeling too heavy. But it was its frosting that I fell in love with. The r/v/c's cute frosting hat was just to my liking, enough to go around but without leaving a lot behind. And the cream cheesey-ness....perfect! Slightly sweet, with a nice tang, the frosting was smooth and velvety. Perfect for a r/v/c. The frosting was truly the cupcake's best asset, and won over my taste buds. Don't worry my cute R/V/C, although your appearance may have been a little plain, you don't need at the glitz and glam to get me for a second date.

Polkadots is at the top of my favorite cupcakes in Austin. Hey cupcake aint got nothing on Polkadots! I have had numerous flavors of these cupcakes and they have not disappointed!! This location is close to campus (and where I work) which is excellent to have them in the office!!

Olga is the best!! She made the most delicious cookies for my wedding welcome boxes and then the cutest and tastiest cake pops shaped like golf balls and mini cupcakes for our Top Golf welcome party! They were a huge hit and disappeared super quickly! People are still talking about them!! I recommend Olga and Polkadots for any dessert needs you have- she is the sweetest and so talented!!!

Perhaps we came on a bad day but these cupcakes tasted like they were made from a box. The icing was pretty good, but didn't make up for how bland the cake itself was. For $4 a cupcake we expected more. Maybe we got a bad batch or something. Heard great reviews, but was overall pretty disappointed

Best cupcake place EVER!!!! (And I've been to a lot...) I need to try the cakes and cookies. I seriously love this place so much. I want them to make my wedding cake and ship it to wherever my wedding is. They have awesome flavors. The cake isn't dry or too moist. The icing isn't too sweet. Good cake to icing ratio. Everything is just absolutely splendid!!!!

I have had cupcakes from Polkadots many times and every time they have been, by far, the best cupcakes in Austin. The shop is the cutest little house and the staff is super friendly. So, when it was time for me to choose a vendor for my wedding cake I went straight to Olga at Polkadots. They provided the cake and mini cupcakes for our reception this past April. I can honestly say that I have never had better cake, either at a wedding or anywhere! The guests were completely blown away by her design and flavors. I had a couple of meetings with Olga prior to the event and showed her a few pictures and described my vision. She took my ideas and ran with it and the outcome was outstanding. We had a small cake with the honey chai flavor (definitely one of my personal favs) and butter cream frosting. I loved the design of this cake...I could have stared at it all night! The mini cupcake we got were carrot cake, red velvet, black bottom and lemon cream. YUMyum and once more...YUM! One of my only regrets from our wedding was not eating ENOUGH of this stuff! Thank you Polkadots! I know we will return year after year to treat ourselves to an anniversary cake!

Polkadots has wonderful cupcakes, but their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. I called to place an order for delivery, and it was a frustrating experience from beginning to end. If running a delivery service is too burdensome, Polkadots should consider outsourcing to Favor (or another third party service) like so many other restaurants in Austin.

I was super excited to find out that my younger brother lived down the street from polkadots. I have always wanted to experience this cupcakery since I've lived in Austin. However I was extremely disappointed. They were out of the flavor of the month that I really wanted to try, so I decided to get the lemon blueberry and the dulce de leche. The lemon blueberry had awkward icing placement. It didn't cover the entire cupcake, which I found to be very disappointing. Also the cupcake could have used more lemon zest or something because the lemon flavor was lacking. The dulce de leche was better, but still not up to my cupcake standards. The only good point is that the cupcakes are pretty moist. I definitely don't think this place beats out local favorites like Hey Cupcake or Lick it Bite it Or Both.

My husband and I have had two birthday cakes and our reception cake made by polkadots and we are sure they make the best cakes in Austin! Cake 1: Birthday, penguin shape with chocolate and raspberry. OMG. Cake 2: Wedding Cake, three tiers. Black bottom one layer (this flavor is the jackpot!) and lemon for the other (our third tier was fake). The design was vintage with beautiful pleating. Cake 3: Birthday, lemon cake. Really the best lemon anything I have ever eaten. So, so, so wonderful! We stopped in for a cupcake and with the price we prefer others in the ATX neighborhood. I feel like a traitor, but hey, they are amazing at cakes! Olga's attention to detail is to be envied by any dessert connoisseur and her designs are spectacular. Each cake we've had has been accompanied by compliments galore. We will continue to see her for all of our special cake needs.

I like their cupcakes & cookies a lot but their customer service sucks. I have been here at least 20 times & every time I go (most recently today) they act put out when I walk in the door. No smile, no greeting, nothing friendly about it. I've been served by many people there, including Olga and while some are a tad less grumpy than others they are all always seemingly pissed off that you showed up. Today I showed up with my friends kids for their birthday and the girl behind the counter barely spoke, didn't look at us and got visibly pissed off when I added another cupcake to our order before leaving. I worked for a teacher and I used to bring our students here at least three times a year but got tired of the awful glances and attitudes when we showed up. I don't know, someone missed the mark if they think good cupcakes override customer service, I'm sad to say after many years of supporting this place today was my last visit.

I'm always on the hunt for the best cupcakes and Polkadots Cupcake Factory are the best I've had in Austin so far. Their cream cheese icing is super fluffy and all of their cream or filled cupcakes are delicious!

These cupcakes re definitely $$$, but then again the mere thought of paying that much for a cupcake makes my head go "What?" But thankfully my coworkers like buying from here in droves for meetings or celebrations so I get to eat them for free. And in that case this place is awesome. I've tried a variety of cupcakes here but I think my favorites are the strawberry shortcake, strawberries and creme, red velvet and chocolate chip cookie. Always has a moist crumb and frosting that is finger licking good (and I normally hate frosting!). I don't know why the strawberries and cream is exceptional but the blend of silky smooth frosting with fruity tones is a match in cupcake heaven.
