I enjoyed only 2 plates out of 5. The only appetizer i liked was Chicken Liver Mousse. Tried Pan-Seared Foie Gras for the first time in my life - and it was very delicious. The main course - Trout Amandine - looked sad to me after seeing three appetizers being served so nicely. The dessert - Chocolate Pot de Creme - reminded me a regular chocolate pudding, nothing special. The wine was too sour. I expected a bit more from the food. The New Year design was great and my server was warm & friendly.

One of the best places food and service wise. Anything on the menu is delicious and cooked to perfection. Highly recommend the filet minion, frites, and profiteroles for dessert. Always come back here!

Food was so délicieux mais, j’ai oublié to take photos of the entrees! Old fashions 🥃 were tasty, the well cocktail “Wild Child” was a bit tart and too cold for my liking, so switched it to “le pamplemousse”,(Gin, Ste Germain, grapefruit, lemon). Lost track time, were there 3 hours, thank you for not kicking us out despite the long line of people. Our serveuse was very warm and friendly, and the place was very much in demand! It was a nice Birthday dinner with just us girls 🥰💕

Sat in the back courtyard on a perfect 77° evening. Perfect service, excellent food, lovely desserts, warm ambiance, interesting cocktails… Don’t be a picky eater here - explore new things! 100% will return.

Google
Good food overall. But feel like they will treat you not as nice if you are under dressed. It took them a while to put us at a spot that’s away from other guests and they gave us a new server who didn’t check on you often. Server was nice but just not professional. It felt like they thought we wouldn’t be able to afford the price so they didn’t care about us. Suggestion for future guests: maybe dress up nicer to gain their respect lol.

A bit of a scene but not in a bad way. I’ve been a few times and food had been excellent. Service has been consistent and excellent. Popular place so even the bar gets full so suggest reservations.

Absolutely Terrific staff led by the AGM Marirose . Very enjoyable ambiance in this beautiful restaurant. The mussels are absolutely fantastic, as is their maple crème brûlée. My 7-year old loved his escargot. Excellent wine list, especially the French wines (aptly) Great experience, and glad to see it open and bustling on a Monday night.

From the moment we walked in it was very welcoming! The service was impeccable and we had this lovely server from Brazil who was extremely helpful. She provided expert guidance and assisted with our selections. I suggest the blood orange margarita! We were seated on the back patio that we did not know existed. We love a very relaxed atmosphere and Pomeroy delivered an amazing experience! We just moved to the area and will definitely be back!

Yelp
I'm so happy that we tried Pomeroy! We've been searching for a good French restaurants and nothing has lived up to my expectations until Pomeroy. Everything about this place was amazing! FOOD: We started with the French Onion Soup and the Escargot. Both appetizers were great. I like that the soup had a thicker broth and large slices of onions. My favorite was definitely the escargot. I've tried escargot at multiple restaurants and find them overly salty but at Pomeroy, it wasn't salty but super buttery and had so much flavor. For the main course, we ordered the bouillabaisse and the steak a là bordelaise. The bouillabaisse was good and had huge chunks of shrimp, lobster meat, mussels, and scallops. They did not skimp on the seafood! BUT the steak a la bordelaise was one of the best steaks I've ever had. It was cooked to perfection. It had a nice crust on the outside but super tender on the inside and the gravy was delicious. SERVICE: our server was super nice and he gave us great recommendations. He was the one that told us about the Steak a La bordelaise. He was very attentive and checked in every so often. AMBIANCE: the atmosphere was super cozy and romantic. Gets a great place for date night. Overall, we're really happy to find a French restaurant that lives up to our expectations. We loved the food there and will definitely be back soon.

Yelp
This was a delightful bistro in Winnetka, just off the downtown area and a nice addition to the restaurant scene. We were out and about going to an event at the nearby Chicago Botanical Garden, and we're looking for a dinner place before the 8 pm event. We had tried a place in Highland one other time that was ok, but this find really raised the bar. On our next trip out for Botanical Garden events, we'll be back here for dinner. With a full-service bar patrons can get just about anything they desire for libations. Drinks were very nice ... our table had Disaronno Amaretto Sours, Bulleit Old Fashioneds, and glass or two from their nice wine list. For mains we had the salmon (4 star nice, but just a tad dry), and burgers (4 star burgers we'd get again). The mains were nice, but the Warm Tomato Tarte appetizer was the 5 star hit of the night. The Russell's Red Velvet Cake and Profiteroles were very nice 4 star desserts for a finish. Pomeroy offers outside and inside dining, so when weather co-operates it can be a treat. This place is a tad pricey .... figure $75 per with drinks and tip ... but the food and experience was wonderful. And for us, the proximity to the Chicago Botanical Garden was the tops ... and pushed our 4 star overall to 5 stars.

Yelp
Went in to enjoy the bar sitting with friends. Weather and warm tomato tart was perfect with manhattan. (Made with Elijah Craig) Such a lovely time, great drinks and ambiance. Mussels were so good, had to get the baguette that I am addicted !!!

Yelp
The food is amazing, the service incredible and just the whole atmosphere of the restaurant is so inviting as soon as you come through the doors. I love this place.

Yelp
I made reservations for Father's Day dinner and it was my first time trying Pomeroy. We were seated at a booth table as soon as we checked in with the host. The place was busy and had a fun vibe. Our server was friendly and helpful. I tried the BOUILLIABAISE, COUNTRY PATE, and the FUSILLI AUX CHAMPIGNONS. Everything was delicious and satisfying. I really loved the pate, every component on the plate all came together so well. My Agave Old Fashioned was also made just right. The clean bathrooms are located at the lower level. The place was neat and lively, the service was efficient, and the food was great. I will for sure come back to try the other dishes and drinks on their menu. Til next time!

Yelp
Absolutely Terrific staff led by the AGM Marirose . Very enjoyable ambiance in this beautiful restaurant. The mussels are absolutely fantastic, as is their maple crème brûlée. My 7-year old loved his escargot. Excellent wine list, especially the French wines (aptly). The macarons is also another terrific dessert and very generous. Great experience, and glad to see it open and bustling on a Monday night.

Yelp
Had a late lunch with hubby while driving through the neighborhood to visit a friend. All I gotta say is y'all have a great thing here with this restaurant available right in the neighborhood. What a great location & vibe. Ralph Lauren-esque! The service is wonderful, food is exceptional, and we enjoyed sitting on the outdoor covered patio.

Yelp
Came here on a Friday night and luckily made reservations almost a month ahead of time as this was for a birthday celebration. Prior to the actual day of the reservation, I was receiving automatic text from the restaurant asking about the birthday celebration and their name. Upon arriving, I realized why they were asking because they took the liberty of printing, happy birthday, as well as the name on all of the menus of those in the party for the dinner that evening. That was a very nice special touch. This place itself as a, and the ambience definitely fits into that. Expect to see the leather and the old-school styling and hardware as well as the volume level to support it. It has indoor seating as well as a back patio and the front patio for seating. We sat inside and luckily, even though it was a very hot and humid day the AC was definitely not hot. The menu has all the classic dishes available. Bread and butter service comes at a fee. Portions overall are fair and if not a little bit generous, considering it is French cuisine. Everything came out very well and very freshly out of the kitchen as well. The only disappointment I have is that the escargot did not come in its shells. I have to say that I would definitely come back here because I have no desire to try the French restaurants in the city as well as paying city taxes and paying for city parking .

Yelp
First time here for a couples dinner and we enjoyed our experience! A lively vibe with table and booths surrounding a brasserie looking bar. The staff and server were friendly and we loved our booth. Comp Champaign for our first visit was a nice touch. We enjoyed our tuna tartare although the portion was a bit meager for 4 and the chips were too crispy for dipping. Our salad was spot on and the chicken and sea bass entrees were excellent. The red velvet cake was enjoyed by all. The only other wrinkles were a missed coffee order and smallish cake slices. Otherwise a place we'd like to enjoy again.

Yelp
Went to Pomeroy for the first time this week with my wife and thought it was really impressive. The north shore needs more places like this that rival the quality of restaurants in the city. The restaurant itself is super well put together. It is a solid sized space but feels cozy, the lighting and vibes were perfect. The food itself was quite good too - for starters my wife and I had the East Coast Oysters, the Tuna Tartare, and the onion soup. The oysters and Onion soup were solid, but the tuna tartare was super fresh and tasty. For our mains, we split the burger which was solid as well, but not mind blowing. I will say the fries they use are fine but I would assume Kennebec fries at a French restaurant. For dessert we had the creme brulee which was good but was chilled which was surprising. The service was stellar, our waiter didn't miss a beat, had solid recommendations, and was friendly. They even have free valet which is a nice touch. Will definitely go back.

Yelp
Coq au vin. OMG. It was wonderful, as was the whole meal and Service. Phil was outstanding. Excellent service, excellent food, outstanding atmosphere. A big thumbs up for Pomeroy.

Ali C.

Yelp
Extraordinary meal in a bustling energetic restaurant. Authentic French food with great wine selection and attentive service. The chicken liver mousse was out of this world. Onion soup with the melted crispy cheese was to die for. Then the boullabaise was fresh and delicious. The Mediterranean sea bass was done to perfection with the crispy skin tender flakes and a scrumptious horseradish buerre blanc. As if we went full enough we had to order three desserts. All of them were delicious but in particular the creme brulee stood out as the very best. Must return.

Yelp
We came by for dinner on a Tuesday night and the restaurants was packed! We didn't have a reservation as we figured Tuesday night wouldn't be too crazy. Thankfully we were able to be sat anyways. The hostess was able to seat us on their heated patio, and with how chilly it was outside we were rather nervous but it was super warm and the patio is stunning. The fireplace had cozy seating and it really took to the appearance of a French cafe. Our waiter was an absolute delight. Giving us the low down on the menu and sharing with us his favorites. We gave it a go to try the special the beef but unfortunately we were just minutes shy before they sold out. I ended up getting the steak frites and they did not disappoint. The tenderness of the beef and the au jus on the steak was incredible. To drink I had their nonalcoholic lemonade which was a delight, it was similar to a blueberry spritz. By the end, we were too full for dessert. But overall loved our experience. We can't wait to come back to try brunch one of these days.

Alla K.

Yelp
Lovely/moody ambiance, good service and yummy food - I'd definitely come back! A girlfriend and I split the Pomeroy salad, onion soup, chicken, and fries and it was a perfect meal portion wise and all tasted delicious. Heads up: they don't do GF substitutions for their gluten meals (such as pasta), but there are plenty of GF options on the menu for those that need it. The garlic aioli with the fries was super tasty! It had been a long day so I also started my meal with a filthy vodka martini which hit the spot and was the perfect amount of filthy. Check this place out next time you're in need of a north shore dinner spot!

Matea P.

Yelp
The ambiance is really nice and the service is amazing, the food here is okay, but not that great and was more of a disappointment if anything. After reading all of the amazing reviews, I had high expectations and believed Pomeroy would blow me away - what a disappointed to learn I was wrong. It is very expensive for what it is...the prices are ridiculous for what you get. I won't be coming back here anytime soon.

Sydney K.

Yelp
Had a lovely dinner at Pomeroy, the food was very good and the service was good as well. We sat outside on the back patio so the ambiance was lovely. We got the baguette to start which was really tasty but the butter was even better than the bread itself! We split the heirloom tomato salad which was very flavorful and well balanced. I had the bouillabaisse and was pleasantly surprised- very wonderful flavors and great assortment of seafood - the saffron broth was perfect. My sister got the chicken which she said was delicious. For dessert we got the profiteroles which were lovely, the pastry was soft and pillowy and the chocolate sauce was bittersweet perfection. We also got the red velvet cake which was absolutely delicious - not too sweet, just the right balance of tang and sweet in the cream cheese frosting and a very soft cake.

Yelp
We have been to Pomeroy a number of times, and just realized it has become our go to place for celebrating my wife's birthday - we went there on her birthday both last year and this year!  We were with our daughter and the three of us had a table in their courtyard.  Although they have a beautifully decorated dining room, we like the outdoor setting of the courtyard.  The weather was nice that evening, and it was just so soothing to see the beautiful night sky over the trees.  The courtyard has a fireplace and a number of overhead heaters, as well as a retractable ceiling.  I could imagine it would still be quite comfortable even if the weather was not as nice. I had the Bouillabaisse - lobster, scallops, shrimp, and mussels in a delicious broth, and a piece of toast with Rouille sauce.  This is my favorite dish at Pomeroy, and the quality has been consistent.  My wife ordered the Duck Leg Confit, and she said that the meat was very tender and tasty.  Our daughter also liked her Trout Amandine.  However, the onion soup and the tomato tarte were a little burnt.  Maybe we were picky, but when we had them last time they were perfect.   The dinner ended on a high note with a complimentary birthday treat - velvet cake & coconut ice cream, which was very yummy. We had a great night.  Like every other time when we were at Pomeroy, it was an enjoyable experience.  Ambience 5 stars, service 5 stars (thumbs up to our server Dononvane, who was very nice, friendly, and attentive), food this time 4-1/2 stars.  Overall 5 stars.

Yelp
We drove up to Pomeroy from the city one Friday evening and had a great time. Pomeroy is nominally a French restaurant but its overall focus is seafood, and when you visit I recommend leaning into that. There is a raw bar with oysters, shrimp, and crab legs; and a lobster roll, boulliabaise, and three fish preparations on the menu. On Fridays there is a fourth - a Dover sole which is delicious and massive - it could easily be shared between two people. If we returned on a Friday night we would order one Dover sole and dive into the raw bar. Other French specialties - duck breast, coq au vin, beef Bourguignon - are relegated to one night specials. There is foie gras as an appetizer but I would avoid it - overpriced and undersized. The chicken liver mousse, however, is excellent as are the desserts. I strongly urge you to try the chocolate pot de creme and Kelly enjoyed her Red Velvet Cake. There is an extensive selection of white wines by the glass, as well as the bottle list, to accompany your fancy seafood feast.

Vivian L.

Yelp
Amazing atmosphere. Amazing service. Amazing food. Absolutely amazing. We went to celebrate a graduation and chose the fanciest place we can think of. This definitely is fancy and pricy but the service and the food are worth it in my opinion. Our waitress was so nice and attentive and everyone who brought our food were also very nice. I'd be down to go again when there's another celebration to be celebrated.

Tiana S.

Yelp
Delicious bread, lobster roll, and bouillabaisse. Service was okay- it was clear that the local people take over and are favored. We were told we could get crème brûlée to go. It was NOT crème brûlée. It was slop in a bowl. Didn't even taste like crème brûlée.

Sofiya T.

Yelp
Came here for my birthday with friends and had an absolutely lovely time. The ambience is lively but it's not so loud that you can't hear your companions. The service is top notch and even though you have your waiter, the bus boys and managers are all constantly checking in to make sure everything is perfect. The food is incredible, and we each received a complimentary glass of Prosecco as well as a big complimentary slice of red velvet for the table in honor of my birthday. I honestly loved it and I can't wait to go back!

Jenny D.

Yelp
Food was excellent but service was TERRIBLE. We ordered a couple croissants to have before our meal, yet the waiter brought all of our food together at the same time with the croissants. He checked on us a total of one time throughout the time we were there, I asked for a refill on my beverage, waited over 15 minutes for it, then ended up asking someone else for one. Of course he charged us for the initial beverage AND the refill. We would've tried dessert but we'm were so irritated at the whole experience we just wanted to leave.

Lisa S.

Yelp
After having the warm, fresh-baked french baguette shortly after the sat down, I knew this was going to be a good ok one. The tomato tarte is a MUST GET! The combination of buttery flakes of phyllo paired with heirloom tomatoes and cheese - baked to a golden brown was ..... Almost better than chocolate. And nothing is better than chocolate. The salad & sea bass were delicious and the red velvet cake was moist with the perfect cream cheese icing. We loved sitting in their backyard, outdoor patio which had a huge fireplace lit giving the perfect ambiance and aroma.

Thanh T.

Yelp
There's a bar in the center of the first main space. It got loud Saturday night. Steak Tartare - Shallot, Capers, Dijon, Quail Egg, Toast - large cut chunks of beef. Country Pâté - Pistachio, Pommery Mustard, Sweet Gherkins -- the spread was more like a thick slab of spam with entire pieces of nut Plato du Jour Saturday - Tournedos Rossini, Seared Foie Gras, Truffle-Madeira Sauce -- which translates to filet mignon on mash. It was good. It's the only thing that I would get again. Seared Salmon Baby Bok Choy, Sweet Red Pepper, Ginger-Lime Beurre Blanc -- fine. lots of raw garlic Brussels Sprouts Parmesan, Apple Saba -- super charred tonight

Ide C.

Yelp
Fabulous food beautifully served. The Ambience was lovely. It's expensive but well worth it especially for a special occasion.

Zuzana K.

Yelp
One of the nicest restaurants on the North Shore. The curb appeal is enticing and the interior matches it, classy and cozy at the same time. I understand they offer complimentary valet parking but there were spots available just across the street so we just parked ourselves. The doormen opening the doors for patrons are a nice touch, you don't see that much nowadays. The food was better than expected. It was simple and didn't try too hard, and everything we had was delicious. The best restaurants always shine when it comes to the simplest menu items. The Pommes Frites were definitely the best fries we have ever tasted. Green salad was also fantastic. Trout amandine was delicate and flavorful. Red velvet cake was tasty but not as amazing as the rest of the meal, however, the orange creme brulee was amazing. We merged from our server that many items on the menu have seasonal tweaks which is another sign of a quality restaurant with educated chef. We'll be back.

Summer F.

Yelp
What a fantastic find in the north suburbs. The service was great, everyone was friendly. The restaurant was huge and packed. It had a great bistro vibe even the bar. I am tired of freezing in restaurants and this one was cozy. The food was great with lots of extras. Some reviewers wrote their portions were small. I don't know what they ordered but we had plenty of food. Not what I expected from a French restaurant but everything was good and filling. The onion soup and sea bass were a standout. Highly recommend either for a group or dinner alone at the bar.

Dan H.

Yelp
I really like Pomeroy. Great interior and bar. Summertime covered patio is perfect. Bartenders that know how to make a delicious cocktail. I love sitting at the bar for a Martini and some mussels. Good people watching and diligent staff making sure you have good service.

Min K.

Yelp
Very cute place with nice backyard with French-tuned vibe for a local date night / family gathering. Pretty good food and kind staff.

Mark F.

Yelp
Had my first (and last) experience at Pomeroy last evening. Our server was a very delightful person who did her job well. We had reservations and were seated in a timely manor (it was Monday). I ordered the Monday night (lobster risotto) special and when my main dish arrived I thought I was looking at a small appetizer. There was 4-5 less than bite size pieces of lobster on top of a small dish of risotto. Besides the skimpy serving my entree was bland and dry. If I remember correctly it was $39. The portions of the other people in my party were also very conservative and the prices were quite the opposite. I'm more than happy to pay $40+ for an entree when the food is tasty and the portion reflective of a main course dish. Far too many restaurants on the Northshore that have great food and good value.

Johanna A.

Yelp
We had a late reservation for our anniversary and we decided to head out early just in case. We were seated right away and greeted champagne glasses at our table. Such a nice touch. Our waitress was very sweet. We ordered the small seafood tower and it was exactly what we wanted it to be! Too bad we forgot to take a picture. Our sides were also delicious and our drinks too!loved the ambiance and decor. Will be back again soon!

Sheila R.

Yelp
Beautifully appointed restaurant! We arrived for dinner and we're immediately seated in a lovely booth which was perfect for our party of 4. Server was attentive from the moment we were seated. We started with cocktails and wine. Definitely pricey, but loved my old fashioned and the Sancerre! We started with the tomato tarte!! Topped with multicolored tomatoes, it was delicious! Lobster roll with fries and trout in butter sauce were both very tasty! We had to ask for the delicious baguette which is normally served to start!!! That was a treat as well! Overall, delicious food and drinks in a beautiful venue with great service!

Troy C.

Yelp
The restaurant is beautiful. Nice seats, ambience, and attention to details. The food was lacking. My eggs and beef were blah. The skirt steak was tough and badly cooked. The tomatoes were very strongly seasoned with herbs that made them unpleasant. The bernaise sauce wasn't good...it was blah. My wife's Benedict wasn't very good either. The crumpet was difficult to cut even with a steak knife. The hollandaise was...blah. Service was overly attentive. Except for the menus that were Never picked up the entire meal.

Shary E.

Yelp
I thought the dishes here were delicious, I wish they had more gluten-free options. Why does no one think to serve gluten-free bread? I would definitely go back as I really enjoyed the ambience and the wine list. Once again, I wish there were more gluten-free options, but for people who don't need to worry about that, I think you will enjoy this restaurant.

Andy V.

Yelp
This is a gem in the North Shore. It is beautiful both inside and out the food was delicious and the service could not have been better. We were there celebrating friends birthday and not only did they provide us free champagne. The menus were printed the words, happy birthday. We look forward to visiting Pomeroy again soon.

Marianne P.

Yelp
This is the second time visiting this location. Unfortunately, I enjoyed the food so much I didn't take pictures! The service is top notch. Very attentive. This is a French restaurant with a variety of dishes. We shared a pate' with toasted bread and a mustard. So delicious and highly recommended. I had the eggs Benedict but the ham was the best I ever tasted. The location is easy to get to and I love the decor. The booths are very French.

Mike M.

Yelp
Might be my new favorite spot on the North Shore. 2nd time eating here, was just as delicious as the first. We started with Mussels and the Warm Tomato Tarte. Both are delicious but the sauce that they cook the mussels in is fantastic. Both times we saved the sauce to soak up with Baguettes or to put on our entree. Trust me, it's that good. The Tomato tarte is delicious as well. My wife and daughter had the fusilli which was great. Both my daughter's boyfriend and I had the steak. Also delicious. Both times I have had Carly as a server and both times she was wonderful. She definitely is very attentive, super helpful and knows how to pace a meal perfectly. Big shoutout to Carly. Pomeroy is definitely not cheap but worth it given the food. Will definitely be back again. Can't wait!

Mark S.

Yelp
Lovely place and gracious service. However, I was not impressed by their Lobster Risotto. It was not the velvety smooth texture I'm accustomed to and expect. Also, the lobster was rather dry and appeared to be frozen chunks out of a bag or box. For $39 I would expect both tail and claw meat that is fresh, moist and flavorful.

Eunice S.

Yelp
To celebrate my daughter's birthday, we went to Pomeroy for brunch. It was a lovely experience. We were were greeted with complimentary glasses of champagne. The food was delicious. At the end of our meal, we were given a sizeable piece of red velvet cake to share, which came with a candle to celebrate the birthday. A shout out to our server, Phil. He has a great personality and made the occasion special.

W H.

Yelp
Charming restaurant with a delicious menu. Service is outstanding- they even printed a special birthday menu for my husband and gave us a glass of bubbly to celebrate. We've had lovely meals that weren't a special occasion, too.

Tom D.

Yelp
The ambiance is cozy and elegant, the service is attentive, and the food is absolutely delicious. Perfect spot for a night out.

Ella W.

Yelp
I feel like I would consider myself a restaurant snob at this point-after all we live in one of the greatest cities in the world for food selection. So why may you ask would I ever leave to go to the suburbs to have dinner? Well one of my friends lives up there and we try to find cute places that compare to those in the city. I will say Pomeroy exceeded my expectations and I will no longer hate on the suburbs. I do recommend if it's nice out to go the back patio it's adorable in there. We did not eat inside but it also looks great. Drinks were stronger, food was good service was great! There's a parking lot next door which made it easy to park and get to our reservation which is also a plus that they have above the city.

Gaz H.

Yelp
Quality output from the kitchen in very pleasant surroundings. Efficient and friendly service. Coffee was just a touch underwhelming and there were some tiny missteps in executing some of the dishes (were those green grapes really fresh and presentable enough to ho in that salad? I don't think so), but overall a very pleasant and worthwhile spot. Get the tuna tartare BTW. Nice fish and tomato mix and the chips that come with it are a culinary treat.

Roberta L.

Yelp
Love the Dover Sole! Great cocktails too! It's chic, great service, and different than most boring restaurants. Very busy! Plan well in advance to get in!

Barbara F.

Yelp
Pomeroy is our favorite special occasion place. It's hard to strike the balance between celebratory and snooty. This place has a nice fancy, dress-up feel without being too precious or self-impressed. We ordered the large seafood tower for four, split two salads and a French onion soup and then went straight to dessert. We ordered four in addition to the red velvet cake they brought her. It was Bacchanalia haha. Our hands down favorite around the table was the orange scented crème brûlée. The wait staff was cheerful and attentive but never rushed us. We sat for three hours and ate and drank and talked and relaxed and dined. We live close to downtown but Pomeroy is worth driving up for. We missed our daughter's 21st birthday last year so we wanted to do something special this year. We let them know ahead of time that we were celebrating and they surprised her with a personalized menu, a champagne toast and a special dessert. She said it was the best birthday celebration she could remember.

Kitty L.

Yelp
We were going to celebrate a birthday at a Michelin-starred restaurant, which unfortunately had a Covid outbreak with some of their staff members, that they could not open on our reservation date! In a very short notice, we needed to find a table at a fine restaurant! Pomeroy saved the day! We were fortunate that it was a weekday, and Mark, the host at Pomeroy even got us a table at their popular outdoor back courtyard! It was indeed a beautiful courtyard, which was constantly filled throughout the night. It was a chilly night in the 50s, but they had heaters strategically installed through out the roof of the courtyard, so it was very comfortable! It was quite relaxing looking at their outdoor wood-burning fire place as well! Our waiter was Niles, who was a nice and friendly young man. When he was busy serving other tables, a busboy named Joey was very attentive, friendly, and helpful, and happily served us. He bagged our leftovers, and took good photos for us as well. Hubby had the Le Pomeroy salad which looked fresh. I had the Onion Soup Gratinée, which was the best onion soup that I ever had! We also shared a Warm Tomato Tarte, even though it did not look as good as the other tomato tartes that I have seen on Yelp, it was very tasty with a crunchy fluffy skin. Both hubby and I ordered the Tuesday special which was the Short Rib Bourguignon, which was not bad. However, one of the three little carrots on my plate was totally burnt. The short rib was quite tender though. Daughter had the Trout Amandine which she liked, and thought that the portion was just right for her. Since we were full and still had a big delicious birthday cake at home, we did not order desserts this time. We liked their desserts last time and would love to try their other desserts next time! All in all, it was a nice and relaxing dinner, we enjoyed it!

Yelp
We had another wonderful experience with Cyntia M as our server! When the onion soup was brought out, the person forgot a spoon. Cyntia was 15 to 20 feet away taking someone else's order, and after she finished, she rushed over with her wooden box and gave me the soup spoon. What amazing Observation and attention to detail! The soup was just OK however. I highly recommend the Spruce St. Manhattan which tastes much like an old-fashioned. The Mediterranean Seabass was absolutely amazing as was the GL Fourcher LeBrun. I highly recommend Pomeroy and will be back to try the lobster risotto special on Monday and short rib on Tuesday!

Yelp
The food is wonderful and the staff is working under socially challenging circumstances and handling it with aplomb! I recommend Pomeroy for any meal... because their food and service are both incredibly solid... their signature apple dessert is... and I wanted to hate it, a little because it was SO PERFECT... but I couldn't, because it was also one of the most delicious things I've eaten! The staff is exceptional and they have the ability to make a busy weekend night seem like a dead weekday afternoon... you never have to wait for anything, and your needs are met by anyone and everyone who is within reach of your table... Which means, every manager, host, server, busser, and runner etc will get you whatever you need when you need it, despite the fact that they all have an actual job to do! Because this establishment realizes that working as a team to make the guest experience wonderful is the key to success, especially in a place like Winnetka. Pomeroy will last forever... or that is my hope!

Yelp
My dad's favorite restaurant of all time. On his birthday they even gave him a special menu that had his name on it. Amazing service and amazing food - even able to accommodate my allergies (celiac disease) and prepare their French onion soup, fries (separate fryer!), among other dishes, completely safe for me to eat. I always love visiting Pomeroy when I'm in town and my dad for sure agrees with any opportunity to grab some of their food!
