"A classic French bistro and brasserie in suburban Winnetka led by chef Jason Paskewitz, this restaurant reunites him with Ballyhoo Hospitality co-owner Ryan O’Donnell and emphasizes faithful executions of timeless dishes: onion soup, escargot, steak frites, mussels in white wine, and a prominent foie gras section alongside daily plats du jour. The menu includes an oyster bar and fruits de mer platters with seafood flown in from the coasts, and the bar is stocked with French wines and classic cocktails such as Le Spritz and the French 75. Designed to feel like an old Parisian bistro, the dining room features red leather booths, antique brass lamps and railings, herringbone oak floors, and a marble bar top; seating includes 154 inside, a 32-person sidewalk patio, two small private dining rooms (one with raw bar access), and a private courtyard for up to 100, making it suitable for both neighborhood meals and special events. Paskewitz—known for award-winning French work at the Blanchard and experience at Pearl Brasserie and the United Center—calls the kitchen the most impressive he’s worked in, and reservations are available via Resy (open 4:30–9:30 p.m. Sunday–Thursday and 4:30–10:30 p.m. Friday–Saturday)." - Aimee Levitt
