I only write reviews for awesome experiences. Ponto Logo really was truly an amazing dining experience. It felt like they put in effort and dedication to really cater to us. They really took care of us for my mom’s birthday. I can’t remember our servers name, but he was awesome! Menu wise, I loved that they had a variety of seafood options. The grilled whole fish was my favorite dish. Everything was seasoned very well not too saucy and tasted fresh. You should also check out the dessert options. The churros were to die for. Who knew gourmet churros could taste so good! I also liked their plate and dineware collection. I wanted to buy all of the plates they were really cute.

Food was 5 stars. Service was one star by the primary waiter, and 2-3 by his second. Main server came 3 times the whole night. Took the app order, waited until they were completely done before coming back and then we did the main order and never came to our table the entire time dinner was on the table until it had been cleared. No one made sure water cups were full. Had to ask after 10-15 minutes after being empty. Didn’t remove empty dishes or empty cocktail glasses for quite some time, or until asked. Had to ask multiple times for table to be wiped or water filled before getting it. Empty tables directly to the right and left of us were dirty from before we sat down to after we left. Ordered drinks before main entree (from a guy we flagged down), one came out in the middle, the other after the main was fully eaten. Would return for the food, hoping the service gets fixed. Oh, and the restaurant was 1/3 full… so they weren’t slammed.

Delicious! Fantastic service topped off with an incredible meal. Alejandro knows his menu and orchestrated flawless service as our server. Thanh kept our water glasses full and was super friendly. We've enjoyed many meals here and 1 buffet breakfast. We hope to be back again soon.

A dreamy coastal date-night kind of spot where the oysters are fresh, the chardonnay is Cakebread, and the seafood is as gorgeous as it is flavorful. The ceviche could’ve used more chips (and a bowl, please!), but the smoky crudo and grilled octopus more than made up for it. Finished with warm churro rolls and dipping sauces that felt like a hug. Fancy without being stuffy. I’ll be back—with a date or a dinner-worthy client.

We were here two years ago and dinner was wonderful. This time not so much. Got The market fish which was sea bass. Pretty arrangement but totally overcooked And so was the paella. Nothing worse than overcooked fish. The sauce was good but that was it. We had asked for bread and got four slices but no butter. We asked for butter and got one small piece. Six entrees to choose from. Overpriced and overcooked.

This review is for dinner service. I had the breakfast buffet in the morning and it was fabulous 5/5. Here's the tragedy at dinner: Once seated, it took 20 minutes for water to be served, and a separate waiter to take our orders. Water was never refilled since. Took another hour for the food to arrive. Was told by the manager (and separately later by my server) that the catch of the day ran out (after 45minutes into waiting), and they were unapologetic and unhelpful. It was a busy Friday night but the restaurant was fully staffed. The food were delicious (paella, scallops, chicken) and mocktails were great too. The open kitchen display is modern and theatrical (in a good way). Unfortunately service was a disaster; staffs needs more training. There are plenty of resorts in Carlsbad; August is prime Summer time as other regions are scorching hot, so I get it. It's hard to find and retain a good staff. But that's no excuse for a 5 Star hotel, let alone a Park Hyatt.

Google
We had both dinner and breakfast here. Everything was great during dinner service. I tried the Agave flight and it was a great variety. My wife tried Spanish Paella for the first time and she loved the seafood and the saffron rice. The only suggestion would be to enhance the vegetarian options in the menu. This is one of the few luxury properties where they serve buffet for breakfast and it had some decent options.

Perched on the third floor of the Park Hyatt, Pinto Lago offers a serene and luxurious dining experience. With its relaxing ambiance, the dining area overlooks the hotel’s lush garden and provides a distant view of the Pacific Ocean, adding a touch of elegance to every meal. I had the pleasure of trying their breakfast. The Acai Bless was a refreshing and healthy start to the day, blending acai with banana, flax seed, coconut yogurt, and apple juice. The Kurobuta Pork Chili Verde Benedict featured a perfectly toasted muffin topped with pork carnitas, poblano peppers, tomatillo, and a unique morita ash hollandaise sauce. While the flavors were delightful, the portion size was a bit on the smaller side. The friendly staff enhanced the experience, offering me a complimentary dessert sample after my meal, which was a thoughtful touch. As expected in a high-end resort, the prices are steep, but the overall experience is all right.

Yelp
This was our first dinner when we were staying at three Park Hyatt Aviara. Great food, and despite the ambiance being upscale and chic, because the resort is very family friendly, I did not feel out of place with two young kiddos. We ordered a few appetizers - hamachi crudo, octopus, and the chips and guac. I especially recommend the hamachi, they had it with watermelon and peppers, and the combination with the sauce was delicious. For the entrees, the kids got mac and cheese, and spaghetti and meatballs. The portions are large, so if you want your kids to share, that would work too. The adults got the seafood paella and a ribeye steak (pic). The paella was good, but the ribeye was the one that stuck in my head. The kids ate a lot of that too. The service was ok. We felt the dude was trying despite him not loving kids haha. But we get it. Anyways, a good stop if you're staying at the resort.

Yelp
This hotel is beautiful and the restaurant also looks gorgeous. It was great to dine here during our stay. The food was good, service was wonderful and the ambiance was amazing! I enjoyed the food but probably loved the ambiance more. The seafood paella was seasoned well and flavorful but didn't have the burnt rice I usually liked but I believe this is a different version of paella from Mexico. The crudo was refreshing. The wood grilled corn was one of my favorite. The wood grilled octopus was also pretty good. There was a fried cheesy appetizer which I forgot the name of and it was super hot and delicious! The shishito was decent but probably my least favorite. The churros were unique and given in large portion. The most addicting dish was surprisingly the kid's Mac and cheese! The flavor was so good and cheese covered every macaroni and served at a hot temperature making it so addictive! The moms kept eating their kid's Mac and cheese! Luckily our kids can't eat a lot and the portion of the Mac and cheese was generous.

Yelp
Ponto Lago is inside the Aviara resort. It's a big boxy restaurant so when we initially walked in for dinner we thought it had convalescent home vibes. Service was ok, food was ok, nothing stand out. We were served complimentary Arepas as bread service which were great! We ordered the following: -Bone-in Rib Eye - heavy handed on the salt, came out almost room temperature. 6/10 -Potatoes Tostones - what's not to love about crispy salty potatoes! 8/10 -Wood Grilled Corn - meh 6/10 -Ember Roasted Mushrooms - meh 6/10 -Blueberry lime gelato with pistachio cake - Its ok, we ate it. 6/10 No way this restaurant would stand on its own outside of being in a resort. Food and service were ok, nothing memorable.

Yelp
Their buffet breakfast selection is wonderful, from their create-your-own omelets to the chocolate croissants and muesli, they were all delish! They have fresh fruit, pastries, toast, bagels (you can create your own lox anyway you like!) Servers will bring drinks out to you. During busy seasons, if you order dishes on their menu, be prepared to wait a bit. Service for breakfast was not great, it took 20-30 minutes to track down our waitress. But service during dinner time, it was pretty good. The front desk is always courteous and friendly. Sometimes if you call for same day reservations and the only available one is too late, they will call you back to offer an earlier time slot (which hubby and I greatly appreciated since we had 2 kiddos with bedtimes.) Ambiance wise for breakfast - it can get loud and busy during the breakfast hours (I believe it was until 10 am) For dinner, you should must reservations just to be on the safe side. Dinner is a bit more intimate and warm. Some families come for dinner too but it's not as loud as during breakfast hours. At dinner, there are some chef rec's. All the dishes were pretty flavorful and well thought out. I would pass on the arepas are not that good though, a bit dry and lacks flavor. My favorite dishes were the scallops, squid and branzino. They change up the menu every so often. Overall, this space is beautiful, it's clean, modern, airy and high end. There is indoor and outdoor seating, rooms for bigger parties. A nice open view into the kitchen. Clean and thoughtful restrooms (kid friendly.)

Yelp
We enjoyed both brunch and dinner at Ponto Lago during our stay at the Park Hyatt Aviara, but this review is for the dinner experience. The restaurant itself has a nice intimate ambiance. We started with oysters and the ceviche tour--both good, but not mind-blowing. The seafood paella was fresh and flavorful, the churros on the rack was a nice touch. The service was attentive and friendly, enhancing the overall experience. While Carlsbad has many dining options, Ponto Lago is a decent choice if you're already at the hotel and prefer not to drive into town.

Yelp
Breakfast Amazing breakfast selections! They pretty much have all your usual breakfast items here in the morning. Omelette station, hot links, pancakes, potatoes, cereal, oatmeal, smoked salmon cream cheese bagels, toast, assorted fruits, and list goes on! My kids dived straight for the pancakes & eggs. Breakfast hour starts at 6am. Dropped in around 9am on a weekend in July & there was plenty of seating available. Dinner Branzino was my favorite! Nice pickled chile sauce with a chipotle-vinaigrette to complement the fish. The seafood paella was mediocre at best. Clams were a little dry/overcooked. The churros are good and served hot! Didn't care too much for the strawberry and chocolate dipping sauce. Service is great both during the morning & evening. Attentive waiters that made us feel very welcomed!

Yelp
Came here for breakfast while at the Park Hyatt Aviara and decided to do an a la carte breakfast instead of their breakfast buffet. Everything tasted pretty standard - eggs, bacon, omelettes, etc. and nothing really stood out or blew our minds. The portions seemed small for the giant plates they served the food on. The breakfast buffet looked delicious with a decent selection, but still don't think it's worth their buffet prices.
google avatar

Yelp
Very satisfied. Stayed at Park Hyatt for three days and got to try a la carte breakfast, buffet and a dinner. Typical breakfast at a high end hotel but a pricy buffet. If you are looking for quality, I would definitely recommend a la carte. Dinner was very satisfying and all dish we ordered were satisfactory. Good wood grilled steak, paella with generous seafood portion, octopus leg that is very nicely poached/grilled. Shisido pepper was a bit soggy but not too bad. No complaint. Great service from the waiters/ waitresses really well trained and very kind as well.

Yelp

Yelp
Nice patio. Appetizers and cocktail were very tasty. Amanda is an excellent hostess, and we enjoyed our welcome to the restaurant. The arepas are delicious. Burrata salad was good, if a little too heavily dressed. I was planning at first to give it 5 stars, and the first part of the meal was! But there was an excessively long wait between our appetizers and our entrees because of a mixup in the kitchen. And after the 40 minutes or so, they assumed everything would be ok once the tenderloin came. ("How was everything?" asked a manager. "Very good before the entrees", I replied. "Sorry about the wait on the steak," he said, " But I'm sure it was delicious when it came!" Except, dear Yelper, it was not delicious. I liked my branzino. But SO said that the steak had an off taste & was a cheap cut. They also seemed to forget about us for a good 30 minutes and also were not filling water without being asked. It's strange that a ton of people came over to ask "how is everything?" over the meal & I answered honestly... But it was as if my answers didn't matter, because they made no adjustment whatsoever on the bill nor sent out any little trifle to say sorry. They seemed to think the dessert churros - which we'd ordered - would make up for everything. They were huge, to be fair... But as my SO said, not as good as churros at a less expensive place. So: five stars for the patio, five stars for the first course. But the steak was bad, the churros were average, and the servers forgot about us in the middle. 4 stars would normally mean we'd come back... but we won't. And I can't recommend it to friends given the prices and the experience. Definitely a great setting and some really creative food. The arepas were amazing and the cocktail and burrata salad were very good. But there are other high end places in SD where they know how to take care of you better!

Yelp
My friend and I came here for restaurant week. I never would have thought of this place if she did not suggest it since it is one of those hotels with valet only and I try to avoid that. Anyways, she was running late due to traffic and when I called, the staff was really accomodating about moving our reservation a little later. Kylie, our server, explained the menu and how they prepare and grill the food over the fire. She was thoughtful of the fact that we were celebrating a birthday and also made sure our wine, appertizer and entrees came out at good times. We enjoyed the meal selections but the branzino and sweet potato sides were our favs. Although the pickled red onion, chorizo and green sauce seemed like a strange mix for sweet potato, everything tasted well together. Ponto Lago plates look small, but we left full! Cool hotel with nice art, courteous service, thoughtful food prep and a bustling open kitchen to view. I am glad to dine here during RW and enjoy their 3-course offering.

Yelp
We came here for breakfast and ended up having the breakfast buffet. The breakfast buffet was surprisingly good. Everything tasted fresh and employees were constantly checking the buffet counter and refilling. The inside was spacious, clean and big open space!

Yelp
Ponto Lago is a delightful restaurant within the Park Hyatt. I booked the Chef's Corner for a celebratory dinner and the experience will be among my most favorite dining experiences. The Chef's Corner is in the back of the kitchen affording a unique view of the busy work. We were served a five course meal that was a symphony of flavor and delight. Paired with delightful wine every bite was better than the last. My favorites were the delicious arepas - chewy and cheesy - a delightful bite of Hamachi, a lovely scallop taco (first time I enjoyed scallops), and the best churros I have ever eaten. The service was spectacular. Kurtis Habecker, the chef, provided a path through the menu explaining each dish. The waiter and assistant waiter were attentive and delightful. Everything was wonderful. We left full, happy, and with lots of memories.

Yelp
Took my husband here for his birthday. We went a day early and it was a Monday so the restaurant was pretty quiet. Unfortunately we did not get to see a view because it gets dark so early in December. We got arepas for complimentary appetizer once we put our order in. It was so good! Melted cheese in there and a corn flavor. We ordered oysters, shishito peppers and seafood cocktail for appetizers. The oysters were fresh and the shishito peppers had a unique sauce it sat on. That was my husband's dish so I didn't really eat it. The seafood cocktail was ok. Nothing stood out on this dish except the rice paper it came with. It tastes like a regular seafood cocktail but it was a lot! Was almost full just eating this app. For the main we ordered the seafood paella and rib eye. Also got a mushroom dish as a side. I appreciate the rice being all cooked through for the paella as most paellas I get sometimes still have uncooked throughly rice. The rice flavor was good and even though the pot seems small, there was alot of rice. The fish they added did not have that much flavor but is fresh. Rib eye is a rib eye. I didn't taste anything special with the steak. I loved the mushroom, it also has a sauce it sat on that was good. These dishes are big and very shareable! My fave drink was the guavarita. There's a sweet foam they put on top and makes it so pretty and tasty. They brought out a dessert and candles for the birthday boy. Service was excellent! I would come back but would skip a few dishes. Maybe when it doesn't get dark so early so I can enjoy the view also.

Yelp
Wow! Latin inspired fine dining at its finest - enjoyed many options here during our stay at Aviara.

Yelp
I came to Ponto Lago for the Baja Brunch with my sister and two friends. They did not disappoint. The food was fresh and mostly Spanish influenced. Sure they had some traditional breakfast foods like french toast but they also had paella. The Baja Brunch was $84 a person and it included coffee and tea. The bottomless mimosas were extra. They have a churro bar and a Bloody Mary bar. The brunch had so many selections: Fruit bar, salad bar... carving board with beef. They even have oysters. Our server was very attentive to refreshing our drinks. This is a popular brunch spot due to TikToks and IG posts about their brunch; but it was not crowded. This is a beautiful restaurant with views of the ocean. Many of the patrons were guests from the hotel. Ponto Lago is located in the Park Hyatt Aviara Hotel in Carlsbad. The Baja Brunch is only available on Sundays from 12:00pm to 2:30pm.

Yelp
If you are looking for a unique culinary experience and a beautiful setting this is the place. The cuisine is a cross of Mexican, Spanish, European and South Western. What really made our experience was the wait staff. Our server Alejandro, took us on a journey through dinner. He was so knowledgeable about the menu and regions of where the food was inspired. It made our time with him educational, fun and most of all delicious! I enthusiastically recommend this restaurant. BTW this type of cuisine usually is not my first choice, so it had to be over the top for me!

Yelp
Our dining experience was amazing atPonto Lago I have traveled to Spain and Mexico City recently. Which offer the most exquisite dining experiences, and this restaurant offers the very same. So much attention to detail. Our Waiter , explained everything That we wanted to know about the menu with great care . The chef has made sure that all of your dishes are prepared and presented beautifully. The flavors will transport you to the place of origin.. we were started off with a melted gooey, Oaxacan cheese appetizer. (it reminded us of our trip to Oaxaca a few months back.) we also had six of their delicious Vancouver oysters. Divine ... We enjoyed the woodfired grilled octopus with olives and capers ." this was the very best dish for me." The seafood paella Is the perfect size for two people. With the crispy bits of sticky rice on the bottom, we ate every bite. They do offer a fairly nice wine list. We chose a Chardonnay from Argentina, which was crisp not too oaky, it was just right for our seafood dishes. We also had to try one of their fresh blue corn tortilla, very good. We enjoyed the flourless chocolate cake along with the blue raspberry sorbet with freeze dried meringue . It was the perfect ending to our amazing meal.

Yelp
Amazing experience! It was our one year anniversary celebration in this classical restaurant. The food is so yummy, the interior design is beyond my expectations. You will love the beautiful ocean view and the sunset!

Yelp
Service is excellent. Attentive and friendly. Ambience is exactly how we like it, Not loud and annoying, open kitchen adds a nice buzz, and the room is warm, open and comfortable with nice decor. Food exceeded expectations especially the sea bass and oysters aguachile style was interesting. Mushrooms and corn were winners.

Yelp
I took my family of six one of which was a teenage birthday girl and we had a wonderful time. The food was absolutely amazing. We had everything from guacamole to ceviche and finished off with steaks. The place in the food had a Mexican flare, including Mexican cokes which the kids love. Dessert or ice cream sandwiches, which were individually made for the kids. They loved them. I'll warn you that your pocketbook will suffer but your pallet will not. Have a nice time friendly staff super clean bathrooms and just a pleasant experience all around. Kids ate everything as did we.

Yelp
We're here to celebrate our anniversary, and get really warm hospitality. The seafood cocktail is well balanced, made my boy starts to love octopus. Iberico Pork Trio with little seasoning, shows how the food should taste like, high quality meat! Desert menu is attractive too. The churros are a o good and we all ate too much. Definitely will come back again.

Yelp
Alejandro is potentially the greatest staff member of any restaurant. The potatoes and the steak with their signature salsa is an experience. I feel fortunate to have been able to participate in the excellence that is Ponto Lago.

Yelp
I honestly cannot say enough good things about my experience dining at Ponto Lago last week. From our arrival at the valet with Tom who went above and beyond to walk us to the restaurant and give us recommendations at Park Hyatt, to our greeting from the hostess to our service from Saeid and Norma- everything was incredible. We ordered the - Guavarita which was a Tequila Cocktail with Guava Foam (the guava foam was SO good): $20 - Seasonal Fruit Smash which was a Berry Mocktail: $14 - Burrata Salad: I don't remember the price but it was delicious - Local Blue Fin Crudo: I'm pregnant so I couldn't taste this but my husband loved it - Tenderloin Steak with Chimichurri, Sweet Potatoes Side & Churros for Dessert The entire meal was absolutely delicious. The portions appeared small at first but they were so flavorful and with the various courses, it was actually the perfect amount. Each dish had a phenomenal presentation and we talked about the sweet potatoes and churros for days after- they were THAT good! We're already looking forward to our next visit to the Park Hyatt Aviara and Ponto Lago. Hoping we get the same staff as they really enhanced our experience!

Jeslyn L.

Yelp
Overall tasted well. The sauce for the scallops tasted really good. The potatoes were the best! The wood grilled octopus was chewy but the sauce for it was not my favorite. The churros was the best part of the meal, definitely recommend you to try it! They are super warm, soft, and crunchy at the same time.

Yelp
A most comfortable, paradise like setting outside, looking out over a jungle like gully of palms and trees, with extremely attentive service and wood fired, roasted cuisine served from a gorgeous, wide open kitchen...with an enviable "chefs table" that we've yet to enjoy. I'm tempted to bring a sleeping bag....n just stay for the ambiance...and another fire roasted fish for breakfast.

Yelp
Located in the Parc Hyatt Aviarra, this restaurant is a great find. The food was superb, service was attentive and overall ambiance was conducive to enjoying a great meal. There were 3 of us and we ordered 4 sides, wood grilled octopus, smoked scallops, ember roasted mushroom, ayocote blanco bean. Two thumbs up especially to the mushrooms! I have never had mushrooms cooked this way. Scallops were sweet and tasty with its complimentary sauce. As for the octopus I am partial to Spanish cooking. It was still good though. My daughter ordered seafood paella, again we prefer the Spanish version, thin and slightly charred rice. This version was more like a tasty sautéed rice. We also ordered fresh catch of the day, which was seabass. They were great. We came back the next morning for breakfast buffet. Crews were different. Took awhile to flag someone to get coffee, however, once we got it going the staffs were friendly and attentive. Overall, my experience with the restaurant was very pleasant and enjoyable. i felt so taken care of, like a Michelin rated restaurant.

Yelp
We had a party of 6 adults and 6 children for dinner. The seated us on two separate tables in the private dining room. We enjoyed a nice adult table dining and the kids had a great time. The food, including the kids meals, were very delicious. A wonderful time a an attentive server named Tyler.

Yelp
It's a beautiful restaurant with great service and delicious food. I love the view of the open kitchen. They also have a kid menu and my sons love the Mac and cheese here. They cleaned the plates. They also have crayons and paper for the kids to color. This is definitely very kid friendly. We ordered Lobster Taco, Wood Grilled Octopus, Whole Branzino, Seafood Paella and scallops. The food was great but the appetizer portion was very small. It was only enough for one person, not to share :)

Yelp
Food was delicious, kids came with and enjoyed all the food as much as we did! Had SMOKED HAMACHI, GRILLED OCTOPUS; SEAFOOD PAELLA, RIBEYE, and EMBERED MUSHROOMS. All were really tasty! They didn't advertise a kids menu, but did in fact have one, and my younger kiddo had the spaghetti and meatballs. I love that they accommodate kiddos with a more basic palate Cocktails so good, especially if you like Mezcal and Tequila drinks. Try it all Desserts not pictured - 2 huge churros with dippers (kids loved) and a tres leches cake (was ok), plus complimentary lil chocolate cake for our anniversary! Plus complimentary champagne toast to celebrate, it was quite a nice surprise. Great customer service throughout! Ambiance was chill, a nice restaurant but still felt easy and ok to bring our 2 kids (12 and 9), and no bif deal they werent "dressed up" since they came from a golf clinic. It was just right - felt more "fancy" (for the kids) but not stuffy at all. Staff was great. Afterwards we walked around to rest our full bellies and the kids ran around in the open grass area just downstairs. Would definitely come back!

Yelp
The waitress, Rosa(I think) was so attentive and efficient. We sat outside and it was a beautiful view, unfortunately the bees kept attacking our food. The breakfast buffet at $40 per person was pretty good. We ate at the Waldorf Monarch Beach breakfast buffet for $60 per person and this one beats it hands down. They had a good variety of food. The only thing that wasn't so good was the French toast which was hard to eat. They had an omelet station, cereal, pastries which were pretty good. They also had homemade Granola and yogurt.

Yelp
I appreciate that we must have visited Ponto Lago on a bad night. Our party of six plus two little ones arrived at 7pm for my wife's birthday dinner. We were seated on the terrace. It was chilly. Having asked for one of the outdoor heaters to be brought near our table, they explained that they were out of propane. Other tables seemed to have no propane issues. Even people who were seated long after us got a working heater. A heater arrived at 9pm. Now to the food. We ordered starters and main courses and a hot dog for the 2 year old. He wasn't to know that the hot dog would not arrive until after 9pm. The starters took an hour to arrive and were adequate. Another hour and a quarter would pass before we were to set our eyes on our entrees. When they did arrive, one tenderloin steak arrived cold and the other one overdone. I can't eat that late so I sent my lobster taco back therefore I can't tell you if it was any good. During our inordinate wait for our main courses we asked for some bread. When it arrived our table burst out laughing. Five slices of WonderBread! I've only ever seen that in fish and chip shops in the UK, never in a place with stars on the door. The evening concluded with me being nearly reversed over by the valet driver in the parking area. The irony of the moment was that they nearly reversed over me using my car. Aviara is a good golf course but the hotel has issues. Maybe we caught them on a bad night. They only charged us for drinks as they knew they had screwed up our party from start to finish. Sadly, my wife will never get that birthday back.

Yelp
Brunch :: I havent had a breakfast buffet in awhile and this one was amazing. Fresh omelettes, and so many other delicious treats. I wasnt a guest of the hotel, my friend was and met her here. We had children with us and got attentive service. The wait went by quickly. The place was packed with families but they kept the breakfast area stocked and cleaned. Great experience. I left very full and satisfied.

Yelp
We had parked closer to another restaurant on the Park Hyatt Aviara Resort. But we were able to use their complimentary shuttle to make our reservation! Our server brought us arepas to start, a cheesy bread-like South American appetizer made of cornmeal. Then we shared the Ceviche Tour and the Catch of the Day, striped bass. The server mentioned that it would be served with the head on because not everyone likes to see the head served on the plate. It was all quite delicious. For dessert we had the flan that's served with mango bits and carmelized banana that complimented the creamy flan. The dining room was a large open space with an open kitchen on one end! It was an enjoyable meal and a beautiful space.

Yelp
We had breakfast here. After 40 minutes waiting for our order we requested an update from our waiter who said he forgot to put our order in. A 5 star restaurant forgot our breakfast order is astonishing. At no time in that 40 minutes did he think something was wrong. The latte was cold when we ordered a hot one. The food was ok given they took 5 minutes to prepare it once they realized their mistake. Beautiful restaurant but the waiter was horrible. Manager gave us what we asked for given we were also staying at the hotel but this will be a place I'll never visit again.

Yelp
We had the immense pleasure of having our rehearsal dinner at Ponto Lago May 31st. Our server Alejandro and his assistant made the experience incredible. I had brought my own decor to set up right before our guests arrived and without being asked Alejandro and the staff set all of it up for us so it would be ready when we got there with candles lit and wine ready to be poured. The food was delicious and came out perfectly timed which is not easy for a table of 24. The kitchen did an amazing job. Alejandro made sure every guest was happy through every second of the meal. Our guests couldn't stop raving about him after! We love Ponto Lago and can't wait to come back. Thank you again!

Yelp
Came for breakfast/brunch and was absolutely thrilled with all the options. We did the buffet, and all the food was fresh and delicious. Watching the chefs make it right by the buffet was delightful. Eggs were fluffy and moist. Potatoes were cooked to perfection. The pastries and fruit were out of this world. Especially the raspberry filled puff pastry, which was buttery, flaky, sweet, with a little tartness; best pastry I've ever had. Staff were friendly and attentive. I don't even live in the area and will be making a point to return!

Yelp
Gorgeous restaurant located inside of Park Hyatt, I love the open kitchen style and decor. Our waiter was amazing. He was attentive but not overly chatty (I am not a big fan of the super chatty ones). We celebrated my birthday here with my family. We got the suckling pig, only available on Saturdays; it was very good, the meat was moist and the skin was very crispy. They give you corn tortilla you can wrap it like a taco. We also got the pork chop which had a nice sauce and was very juicy. My mom got the seafood paella, we all liked it very much. A lot of seafood and a yummy yellow rice. I also loved the mushroom!! It had a nice char flavor, very smoky but rich at the same time. So flavorful. The organic chicken was just ok, kind of bland. So don't get that. For dessert, we had churros, which is a must. The chocolate and fruit jam sauce compliments each other very well. Our waiter also comped us a birthday chocolate dessert. Everything was great. The food came out timely and everything tasted so fresh. The ingredients they used were amazing! Had an amazing time and so glad we came here! Highly recommend!

Yelp
5/5 starts well deserved! Impeccable service starting from the door bell and vallet greeting. Stunning ambiance and gorgeous views. And of course amazing menu options for every taste. Officially the best carrots I've ever had. Celebrated my birthday there and did not regret for one second.

Yelp
This was our second time going to ponto lago for brunch. The first time, brunch was new for them so I was more forgiving. This second time they had the same problems so I decided to leave a review. The buffet had three main areas: cold cuts/salad, hot food, and desserts. Desserts were in a different room. The only place where plates were available for guests were by the hot food. And the plates were hot, sometimes burning hot! A lady in line had to put the plate down because it was too hot to hold. I would suggest cold plates for the salads and cold cuts. And smaller plates next to the dessert table for all the delicacy. The buffet was a good way to sample many of their regular dinner menu items like ceviche, seafood paella and churro. And we enjoyed the endless raw oysters. But since its buffet style the temperature is not quite right. The fruits are usually exceptional but also was warmed up by the hot plates. Hopefully the staff will fine tune the details so that the buffet is a better experience.

Yelp
I wrote this review while I was still at the restaurant. It was that good! We are staying at the Park Hyatt Aviara and just had dinner at Ponto Lago. This place is ridiculous! Delicious! We had the oyster tour, guacamole, two bone-in prime rib eye steaks, local catch which was snapper, hay flamed mushrooms, and the burnt cabbage. Everything was excellent! The prime rib eye was one of the best steaks ever for us. The service was impeccable. Amazing dining experience!! We will back tomorrow night for dinner again. Three night and four day stay at the Hyatt!! Thank you all! We appreciate greatness!! Dang I would give you 10 stars!

Yelp
Came here for brunch yesterday and the food was very fresh. Everything was presented perfectly. The oysters especially were magnificent. Service was impeccable. Staff was very attentive and thorough, without interrupting. One of the managers even went out of her way to bring more smoke salmon directly to our table when she saw the buffet has temporarily ran out while I was attempting to get some. We also ordered the margarita flight which was pretty good too. I didn't get pictures but the paella, chilaquiles, roasted chicken, and carved meats were very tasty as well. Thoroughly enjoyed my experience here.

Yelp
Wonderful place. Wonderful staff. I wish I remembered my waiter's name because he was great. The food was delicious and well seasoned. We celebrated my birthday here and they packed a cake for me to go bc we were too full to eat it. Parking is valet and free when dining at the restaurant. Just ask for validation upon leaving the restaurant. If I'm in the area I will definitely come again. The hotel and restaurant is gorgeous. Expect an expensive meal. 20$ on average for appetizers and greater than 35$ on average for main course. We loved the following: Seafood skewer The yellowtail sashimi from the sushi menu The tacos were delicious!!! I loved the fish taco but also heard that the pastor was delicious. The tour de cerviche was good but the others were better I did not like the pina pinta cocktail. It was sweet but tasted like medicine bc the alcohol was a bit intense. I thought it would taste like a pina colada but it was far from that . The margarita was delicious though. Overall: excellent. Would come again for the Ambience, staff, and food ...I enjoyed it all!
