Por Favor Tacos & Tragos

This is such a gem in the springs. We went to a place down the street first had a horrible experience and then decided to come here and it turned the day around. The staff was all very friendly and the food and drink was so so so good! We had the Raja’s tacos and the pastor and boy I don’t know which I liked better. The salsa flight was such a fun edition to the meal. I love to sit at a bar when I go out to eat and the tiny bar left a bit to be desired but the drinks did not. The michalada and the Paloma were fantastic and the bartender had great attention to detail!

Wow! High end food in a laid back setting! Do yourself afavor and order the elotes- the best I've ever had. Between all of us, our table of four ordered almost every taco on the menu. Every single one was delicious! I also tried the beef burrito which was excellent. The Margarita was legit too!

We've been on a quest to find decent Mexican food in Colorado Springs. After reading a very favorable article on Por Favor, we were sold. Unfortunately for us, the tacos didn't hit the mark. My fish taco was good, I just couldn't tell what type of fish it was. The elote had an extreme lime flavor and the kernels were dry and hard. My chicken tinga lacked chipotle adobo flavor. It was also topped with so much condiments that you couldn't taste the chicken. I had to separate some and try it with a fork. I'll likely be back to try more dishes but this first go round did not live up to the article.

Boy, when I tell you that this was the best Mexican food I've had, please believe it. The server treated us like KINGS with the most friendly & outgoing personality. He said he would change our life forever, and honestly, I should have believed him. The Birria taco here was THE BEST taco I've ever had. And the Elotes appetizer was also the best corn I've ever had. The strawberry aqua fresca was great. The dessert was delicious. The cheesecake (seasonal dessert) & choco flan were amazing 🤤 100% Coming back soon!!! (From my teenager) Update: went back and had delicious pineapple aqua fresca, seasonal cheesecake, elotes (yum!!!!), birria tacos with consome, and fish tacos. Everything was fantastic again!

I really didn’t want to mess up their somehow 5 star perfect reviews… but I have to leave honest reviews. Upon walking in I was greeted immediately. It was about a 20min wait and was packed around 1:30pm. Usually that would be an amazing sign! Being that busy. However… I’m use to having Mexican food in Mexico and California. Which is arguably the best Mexican food in the world. So with that said… let’s get into it. I ordered their steak “fajita” taco On flower tortilla. lol it has absolutely no seasoning. Not traditional fajita seasoning at all. And the tortilla is 100% a mission tortilla from the market. It tasted like something I could have messed up making at home. It has the worst steak I’ve ever had. It was overcooked. Not marinated. It was flank steak not actual solid cut piece of steak. SO BAD. It also was topped with pre shredded cheese from a bag…. Yeah seriously the worst taco I’ve ever had. DO NOT get this if you’re use to authentic. However the reason it got 2 out of 5 stars is their Birria. Marinated to perfection. The consume was legit. If you go here. Stick with that. Just know their tortillas are not in house and not supplied from someone who makes them authentic either. They’re 100% bought at Costco. Brand is 100% mission without question. So with that said? I’d recommend here if you want Birria. But I don’t think I’ll return based upon their ingredients and prep. I highly recommend this taco restaurant. We are in town for a night and picked this place based on the great reviews. Por Favor does not disappoint! Great service and amazing food! Salsa was fresh and love the different variety of salsa that we could select with our meals. The birria taco and consome is the bomb! If you are going to only order 1 thing, you can’t go wrong with the birria taco.

Part of me doesn’t want to tell anyone about this wonderful place because everyone will go there! But finally, there is a really excellent place that serves real authentic Mexican food. It is delicious. This is a family run place and everyone there is warm, kind and hard working. Great place! I took pictures of my friends food and forgot to take one of my salad. We all cleaned our plates.

Wow oh wow this place was incredible! I started with their special margarita which was blackberry flavored and was perfect. Then we got the chips and salsa which were perfectly crisp and had a special seasoning which were even more addicting. Then my husband and I both got 3 different tacos to try different types. The corn tortillas were awesome and all were decent but the star of the show was the Birria tacos (be sure to get the consome to dip!!). The food was so good that we decided to come back the next night and indulge in more amazing Mexican food. This time we got the guacamole and elotes as well as more Birria tacos. The guacamole and elotes were incredible and the birria tacos were just as good as the night before. We also had the best waiter, Evé, who was so awesome and had the best energy. He was going around table to table so friendly and wanting to educate people about the amazing food. We will be dreaming about this place as we head back home to the east coast.
