Porkchop Review - Edgewater - Chicago - The Infatuation

"Porkchop has BBQ, a full bar, and plenty of space—so this Edgewater spot seems equipped with everything you need for a fun time. But the food ranges from just fine to disappointing, so utilize this place primarily as a spot for drinks versus a meal. The pulled pork and brisket are both bland, even when fire-hosed with their housemade BBQ sauce—which is also flavorless. Their sides, like some fairly dry cornbread, aren’t much better. Come here if you’re in the area and need a place to grab a beer with friends, but plan on grabbing dinner elsewhere like Bop n Grill, Dak, or Huaraches Doña Chio." - John Ringor

I don't know what I was thinking ordering a grease burger before a five hour flight, but I was hungry and they were the only open restaurant without a line (makes sense). If you like watery mac & cheese with a $16+ sandwich, this is your place.

Such a disappointing meal. I wanted to grab something before my flight so I ordered pulled chicken and fries. I understand airport food is really expensive, but at least make sure it’s somewhat worth it. The fries were pretty much cold and not fresh at all. The pulled chicken’s taste was okay but the temperature was luke warm. It sucks thinking about how I spent my hard earned money here. $24 down the drain and still not full or satisfied.

The pulled pork is tender and juicy. The sauce is nice. My husband usually doesn't like BBQ sauce. But he likes this one.

For the low low price of $24, this magic disintegrating sandwich can be yours! Pro tip (I was on a time crunch), if you're at this God forsaken airport, you see people, and there's nobody lined up at a food place, don't go there. There's a reason. The fact that they charge $5 for fries to go with their $16 sandwiches that come with a box too big for just a sandwich should be telling enough to steer clear. But then again, at Midway, there aren't really any better options.

One young woman working - meaner than a rattlesnake. Short with all customers. Only items available were sandwiches - no meals or hot sides - assume because she was solo. She barked out "all I have are sandwiches" so everyone knew what not to order. Another customer asked about the 3 sauces - she basically was no help. Ordered pulled pork - $16 for JUST the sandwich - ouch. Food was okay - but do not recommend.

I read the reviews and was skeptical, but I still gave it a try. The man behind the counter was jovial and helpful. Portions were more than generous and everything looked and tasted fresh and delicious. My sandwich was piled high with meat. If I were to look for some cons: Some items were out of stock, fries could be a bit more crispy and salty, and cost was about $30. I expect the price to be high at the airport, but it was actually a really great meal. Very impressed!

😂 ok I did NOT read reviews until afterwards so, here’s my honest opinion as always: I ate at the airport location. The sides, fries and Mac and cheese were not available at all. No problem, I went with the pulled pork sandwich and I have to say I LIKED IT! No fatty meat, it was actually tasty! 👅 I say try it, form your own opinion. I will agree the service is in the toilet 🚽 for sure and that is the case for a lot of businesses today unfortunately. Don’t like it, just don’t spend your money there.

Quick and tasty. I got the brisket sandwich. Enjoyed it. Friendly staff. Airport pricing, but hey, we're in an airport. Better than the chicken I had last time from a bit up the hallway.
