Food Quality: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Cleanliness: 5/5 Value: 5/5 Came to the Post Office Place for their limited seating Omakase menu and wowza! I was blown away by the quality of the meal! Takashi himself along with two other chefs were serving us last Wednesday and I can’t believe how amazing the meal was. 15 course of fresh fish prepared in several different ways and each one better than the last. My favorites were the Tokishirazu for the buttery salmon, the Uni for the incredible flavors and textures, and Moqueca for the rich and creamy broth. I savored every bite I had and would highly recommend giving this a try. The reservations sell out fast and they only have this menu on Wednesdays, so plan accordingly! The staff were so welcoming and efficient and the restaurant was clean. Can’t wait to go back!

I sat at the bar with my book for a date night with myself while on vacation. I ordered some small plates and a few cocktails. The cocktails were unreal! I got the apres ki no bi and the Jo March. Truly so well crafted. Service was quick, and the vibes were fantastic. Will def come back next time I’m in town!

It was a little dead the evening I went but staff was amazing and attentive! The tuna papadum small bite was FIRE! The skewer I had was a little bland but they gave me their in house chili oil and it was FIRE! Definitely want to go back to try more food.

I ordered the steak tartare, pickled veggies, taro scotch egg, and kampachi crudo. I think my very favorite was the taro scotch egg, I mean.. it's taro and it's a scotch egg! The chili oil that accompanied it paired well. It was flavorful, but not really spicy. Didn't care for the pickled veggies and the crudo, both were kinda just.. sour. I did enjoy the tartare, but the flat bread that came with it was really sticky. After every bite, I'd have to scrape the stuff off with my tongue, lol. The flavor was good, but it was really hard to get off of my teeth. Luckily, I carry floss with me. The server was great! Orders came out pretty quickly, he was knowledgeable, and was super attentive!

I've had drinks here waiting on seating at the restaurant next door but hadn't had the food. Tonight I tried the katsu slider and the thai tuna device. Both were fantastic! I haven't had a bad drink here either. All the cocktails are delicious. Admittedly I avoid things I'm sure I'm not going to like so I'm sure there's a few that I may not like but that's just personal preference. The ambiance is clean and relaxed. Service has always been great. I'll be back before I leave town and will be back next time I'm in town.

Forgot to take photos I was too busy eating, drinking, laughing, and licking my fingers. No clue how I haven’t tried this spot before now. It was spectacular. The “Asian fusion” was so spot on. I was full but made myself make room because everything was so ridiculously delicious. It’s a smaller place, so if you’re lucky enough to get a spot, or you think ahead and make a reservation, you HAVE to make it count. I’ve eaten foods from various cuisines my entire life and this is one spot I am tempted to gate-keep just to make sure I can always get in! (Don’t worry, I won’t.) The butter chicken wings were such a surprise. They were hot and stayed hot, right amount of spice, amazing flavor, and the skin stayed so crispy! I thought I made the best Brussels sprouts, but theirs blew me out of the water. We tried so many other plates I can’t even keep them straight. But each one made my tummy feel so cozy and happy without making me feel heavy or greasy. Even if it’s hot outside, don’t skip the dumplings. They will make you feel like you’re a little kid again, home “sick” from school, watching the price is right with your grandma. They are so comforting you’ll want to cry even if you’re not emotional. Same goes for their homemade Chicharrones, the scallop and pork belly skewers, their house made pickled veggies, any of the sliders, and their desserts that all taste like someone has been in the kitchen all day preparing them perfectly with love. I wish I had photos to share, everything was just too delicious to You can’t really go wrong with Lake Effect. No matter the day or time, if they’re open you’ll be taken care of. Even their “late night” menu is well prepared and delicious. (I’ll admit I would pay big money to have one of their amazing charcuterie boards on the late night menu…but I’ll survive.) It’s such a cozy feeling place even on the days it’s packed and busy. You can find the right vibe for your needs anywhere.

Took us a bit to get service, but the drinks were amazing. Was excited to try the octopus but it was so salty I couldn’t eat it, which is saying a lot for me. Sliders were great but also a bit over seasoned. Scotch egg was perfect.

Google
I am a fan of everything at POP. Service was great. The atmosphere is extremely laid back and relaxed but feels elegant. It’s so nice for a low key dinner or a little bit of a high end drinking night. Their food is delightful. The tuna ceviche, scotch egg, and sliders were the highlights. But that’s not to say anything was bad those just really stood out. The spirit collection is amazing. All around just a super nice experience.

Yelp
Came in to try the farm to glass cocktail. So yum. And I don't like gin. Ordered Tuna Ceviche and Scottish Taro Egg. Scottish Taro egg so yum, and I don't even like egg yolk.

Yelp
This place has been on my Yelp dining list for a while and happy to finally check this off. I found out later at the restaurant that it's the sister company of Takeshi. It's been a while since I've been to Takashi, but I didn't care for the sushi. I felt it was a bit overrated with its awards and it's not the best sushi in SLC. I felt the food lacked flavor, however it was beautifully plated! The scotch eggs were probably my favorite since it was cooked perfectly. The sauce had a weird after taste to it. I didn't like their version of beef tartare. I needed more salt and the yolk was missing. The little pieces of bread was the star of the dish and yes we asked for more of those. Birria dumplings felt undercooked because the wonton wrapper was still a little chewy. Pickled veggies were too vinegary!

Yelp
Ambiance was nice, perfect for a date night. And the location can't be beat; Near other establishments so you can swing by before or after for drinks and/or apps. However, drinks were just ok - more juice than alcohol.

Yelp
Come here! The food was astounding. The taro scotch egg was astounding and my friends loved the dumplings. Cute little setting with nice waitstaff.

Yelp
This place is spectacular. It's not large place but I also wouldn't use the word "cozy" like a real estate agent does to decoy a really small place . They have tall ceilings, a long bar, and a couple of booths. The food menu is superb because they are owned by their neighbor Takashi. If you're tired of the same old pub food with the common cocktail you MUST come here. Every cocktail has a truly unique Japanese twist. They are fully stocked on unique liquors too.

Yelp
The service was great and you can just pick an open seat. They will scan your IDs when you walk in. The ambiance is neither casual nor upscale. I'm not quite sure what the theme was, including the foods we ordered. Tried plenty of small bites. The tuna tartare isn't what you normally think of, it had maybe some type of Thai curry and came on top of one tortilla chip. Not bad, just different. The birria dumplings weren't great. The meat inside is dry, so definitely cut them open and try to get the sauce mixed in. Tried 3 different sliders. The spam slider was the best. The "chicken meatball" one was interesting. The "fried chicken" slider was dry, the slaw helped, but otherwise just okay. Finally, the scotch egg was quite delicious, minus the dipping sauce it came with... the sauce makes your tongue tingle and then made my lips tingle too I'm honestly mixed on this place.

Yelp
Love the vibes here and it's such a cool place to hang out next door to Takashi. The Japanese whisky menu intrigued us and we were excited to try. I didn't love my mezcal cocktail but I'll try something else next time. I only skipped a star because the food was just a touch odd. We started with a few apps. I've never met a brussels sprouts plate I didn't like but the crispy brussels sprouts with fish caramel and sesame seeds were so blackened that I couldn't really get past the burned-to-a-crisp taste. The panisse (fried garbanzo cakes) were interesting and probably my favorite, but again the saffron rouille and thai basil oil to dip it in was just short of wow for me. The happy hour sliders are super intriguing so we tried the chicken katsu (just okay - and again, I've never met a katsu I didn't like), and the spam, which was really good but the bread & butter pickled ginger and miso-aioli was a little lost in the overall flavors. I wish the flavor and execution was amped up a little more on everything. We'll definitely come back and loved the ambiance and vibes here (even got to see Chef Takashi pop in for a post-closing visit).

Yelp
SLC Yelpers, help me. What am I not getting about this place? How is this restaurant a 2023 James Beard semi finalist? I keep giving it another chance, but I always walk away underwhelmed with just a "meh" feeling. Am I ordering the wrong things? Is there a secret restaurant in the back? Are you having a James Beard experience?

Yelp
Food was delish. Highly recommend the brussel sprouts, lamb lollipops, and chocolate pudding. Nice ambiance, no wait, and the staff keeps the drinks flowing. Great place for a low key romantic date.

Yelp
in order of best to basic: 1. katsu fried chicken slider- GET 2. crispy brussel sprouts 3. spam slider 4. organ doner and birria dumplings

Yelp
This place was small but very good. The drinks and small food was good. The service was very good. It saved us time while we waited to be seated at sushi Tekashi next door.

Yelp
I love this uber cool bar that serves up some mean ceviches! It's never busy when we go but it's right next to takashi. 2 hour wait takashi. I hide out in here and sometimes prefer to eat here and at one time you could order the takashi menu but those days are gone post office stands strong with its own menu of various seafood and more Peruvian flavors. Great cocktails to japanese beer on tap. Employees are very nice. Take your driver's license because they id everybody. Parking is pay the meter until 8 then free. Check this place out.

Yelp
Love! Love! Love this spot! Do you like well crafted cocktails? A cool, almost understated vibe? And some great Japanese cuisine in SLC? Post Office Place is the bar that's connected to Takashi. They're 21 and over and do not take reservations. They follow current CDC COVID-19 guidelines, considering the state of Utah has just lifted the mask mandates, and I completely appreciate this. We are still in the middle of a pandemic, BTW. Anyway, my work group and I enjoyed this spot we came back within a week's time. We really enjoy their cocktails, in fact I turned the guys on to the Mizuwari #5: Suntory Toki Japanese Whiskey, apple Sidra soda and sage. A very refreshing cocktail, it was so good, I had about a handful one night. O_O They also have a pretty substantial food menu that comes from Takashi next door. Sushi is on point, I requested Omakase Nigiri and it did not disappoint. However I was less than impressed with the chicken bowl. The chicken was dry and quite tough, I'll just stick with their sushi menu next time around. I also want to give honorable mention to Lee, she was our server and was phenomenal! This might be one of my go-to spots in SLC!

Yelp
Service - 5 Food - 3.5 Atmosphere - 4 Overall - 4 Popped in tonight with my wife for some quick bites. Honestly I am typing this from another restaurant because I am not full or satisfied with the food we had. The service was great and we love the ambiance / decor. Started off with the tuna tartare and the scotch egg. Loved the egg. I like the tartare but my wife thought it was spicy. Next we had the Burrata and the squash. Good cheese but the accompaniments could be better. Finished with the hamachi. Best dish of the evening. Served with a tomato sauce that was a very interesting but delicious approach.

Yelp
So you're having a rough few weeks and you just want, but can't allow yourself to hope for, a dining experience that will offer both the excitement of novelty, and the comfort of the familiar. Friends and countrypeople, we found this at Post Office Place. Ambience is understated, chic, and easy to take in: Dim lighting and the gentle pop of swanky fixtures and great backlit art. Though a very intimate space, bar service and high tops were readily available, along with few delightful booths that could sit two spaciously, or a cozy three to four. Service was perfect. Friendly and attentive, but cool and noninvasive. Any manner of fine beverage could be yours at Post Office Place. We tried their passionfruity spin on a Pisco sour, a fine cab selection, and a most satisfying highball (local joint Bar Nohm is also doing fine things with their highball, FYI). Oh, and a ritzy pour of fine, fine Japanese whiskey, of which they have a generous selection. Boozehounds will purr. As for grub, the katsu sliders were delicious and will likely please most palates. But where they got super shiny was the beef tartare, the birria dumplings, and the grilled romaine salad. As a tartare aficionado, I thought I'd exhausted all permutations, but damnit Janet, African pumpkin sauce, with Nigerian rice masa cakes, and the most succulent beef, seasoned perfectly? I have been thinking about it all day: What's going on there? I can't wait to try it again. We did not try anything from the raw bar, which was probably a mistake, but we'll be back soon. I'm going to force myself to wait a week so I don't wear it out. But you, friend. You get after it.

Yelp
Went here for the first time with friends this week and it was immediately delightful. The inside is tasteful and upscale. The service was great all night. We each ordered a cocktail. I got the 'Spice Must Flow' and my girlfriend ordered the 'Hibiscus Pisco Sour'. We both enjoyed our cocktails. Later on, I ordered a draft IPA that was also stellar. Between the 4 of us we split 2 orders of brussel sprouts (the standout for sure), jackfruit sliders, burrata, panisse, and king trumpet ceviche. Aside from the brussel sprouts which were fire, the burrata was also delicious. I didn't care for the other dishes as much, but others enjoyed them. Street parking was readily available and the bathrooms were very clean. Overall, highly recommend this establishment. It's perfect for a casual night out and has great shareable dishes that can be split amongst company.

Yelp
One of my favorite bars! If you're looking a for a unique experience, Post Office Place is such a lovely space to visit. Haha I love how every time I visit, the same hostess gal has a different book at her stand. - Just a little note about some of the subtle charms about Post Office Place and the people who work there. The Japanese Peruvian drinks are a bit daunting to try and figure out, but just have a chat with your waitress or bartender about what you might like and they will have great suggestions for you! Knocking off one star because some of the portion sizes for tapas such as the tuna tartar are absurdly small however it is definitely reasonable for the price. The tuna tartar is SO good! So I recommend getting 2 or 3 orders of it. You'll probably want to order a handful of items. I don't mind paying a bit more for their tapas if only the portions were bigger. The California roll is probably the most filling item on the menu. The waitresses will give you a good idea of the portion sizes. Everything I have tried on their menu is absolutely delicious. It is an excellent bar with really tasty tapas. Not really a place for a hearty dinner, but the great thing is that Takashi is just right next door! Post Office Place is curated and owned by the same owners of Takashi! I love this place!!

Yelp
You want Japanese influence, you want nuance, you want delicateness, you got it here. The menu is a little more adventurous. Great selection of Japanese whiskeys. Excellent service, and Nirvana playing in the background? A+.

Yelp
Have been here multiple times a year since they opened. Great cocktails, great place to hang out if you're waiting for a table at Takashi, and probably our favorite burger/slider of all time. Unfortunately during our most recent visit, the host gave us a hard time because I provided a federally-issued DOD/military ID. I have used it at Post Office Place before and multiple bars in Salt Lake City without issue (whenever I forget my driver's license). The host asked me if I was in the military (I'm not, I'm a military spouse) and had to check with the manager. When the manager said they do accept military IDs, she responded with "but she's a dependent" as if for some reason that made my ID invalid??? We really loved this place and were happy to see one of our frequent spots get a James Beard nomination but the host's attitude and lack of knowledge really ruined it for us. :(

Yelp
Some dishes are amazing and some are misses. We went with friends so got to try a good number of dishes. Amazing and outstanding category are the scallop and pork belly and sweetbread. Great was lamb and clam panzanella, fried Brussels sprouts, taro scotch eggs, which essentially is a fried taro ball typical in southern China with an egg inside. It was cooked with perfect technique. Fine: octopus salad. It was not executed as well as it could. I'd sliced the veg and octopus sideways and cook the beans longer. Disappointing: tuna tartar seasoning was off and the conceptual design of the vegan porridge was off-base. We hardly ate the dishes. Still, giving 4 stars coz it is great to taste outstanding and great dishes!

Yelp
Went to Post Office Place a few times before COVID, and it was a great experience. Went again post COVID, and I feel like it was even better than the times before! The service was above and beyond amazing, with many recommendations given to us (each all delicious). We had a mixture of dishes from Post Office Place as well as sushi/sashimi from Takashi. Calamari, seared sable fish, uni, arctic char, and many others. I have taken a bunch of photos over the times I have visited and not only are the dishes delicious, they are absolutely beautiful as well. In addition to tasty bites, the cocktails are out of this world. The bartender will even create unique beverages if you are wanting to try something new and not on the menu. I love doing this at bars when they have it as an option, and POP did not disappoint. This is a spot I will visit time and time again, and highly doubt I will ever be let down.

Yelp
Came here on a date and really enjoyed myself. The food was great, we shared a few slidders and had some drinks, great selection of both! Can't recall which sliders we tried but I enjoyed them all! In addition to the great food, the staff was friendly and attentive, making the overall dining experience even better. We were seated quickly and the intimate space made for a nice comforting vibe. The decor is beautiful as well. A great spot for a quick drink or bite!

Brooke B.

Yelp
We sat at the bar and ordered 2 drinks each. All 4 were very good!! They had many options for both drinks and food. We were waiting on a table at the next door restaurant, so we only ordered 2 small appetizers - the root chips & the brussel sprouts.

Yelp
I loved Kristauf's when it was in this location, and was sad to see it go... but Post Office Place is perfect addition to this area! Prices are very reasonable for drinks, and the names and specials always seem to be changing, which is good and bad (bad mainly only if you fell in love with a certain drink). On top of cocktails, they also have a little menu for food. However, I didn't look at the food options... I was there for the drinks! When I stopped in, there was a drink named "Passions of Santos" which had almost everything I wanted in a drink, and drink name (if you're a Jane the Virgin person!), but there was egg in it. So I had my drinking companion get that so I could at least sit near it, because anything pertaining to Rogelio De la Vega? I need it, alas vicariously. I went with a Paloma. Which was tasty, with a kiss of hibiscus. This is a cute little bar to stop in, especially if you're waiting for Takashi next door, or just starting the evening. The decor is very adorable, and even the bathrooms are fun.

Yelp
We tried many things on their menu. I was vlogging the meals and the waitress was a bit rude. The pate/liver was the best of the food. the A5 wagyu tasted nothing like A5 (and we eat it alot) it was more like American wagyu. very dissappointing. It was a good think we ordered 1 dish of that and not three. The Sardine in the can was a joke... I dont recommend coming here.
google avatar

Debbie S.

Yelp
I have a food allergy to nuts and peanuts. I told the server and she acknowledged it and thanked me for letting them know. We ordered the tuna poke bowl. It came and was about to eat it and noticed something on it that looked like it could be crushed nuts. It was peanuts when we asked. I could have died if if I took a bitE. The waitress sort of apologizes. I asked to speak to the manager just to inform her to educate her staff so this doesn't happen again. Her response, which was totally unacceptable, was "I am sorry, we are so busy." I was expecting something along the line of "Thank you for letting me know so this doesn't happen again." I again said it's fine but you really should educate your staff, this is life and death. She again said "we are so busy." Hopefully the owners will take a more active role, educate their manager and staff before someone dies from their nonchalant attitude. If I could give zero stars I would have.

Yelp
Great little place that serves some amazing tapas. Everything we tried was delicious and tasty. The drinks were really good too. Pricing wasn't that bad either. Definitely recommend.

Yelp
Drinks and small plates in a swanky little spot, on a cute little SLC street, next to their parent (sister?) restaurant Takashi, and the menus look like letters? That's a recipe for a successful spot. While you could come here and get full, for sure, it's more of a spot where you go to grab drinks and small plates before or after the main course somewhere else. The ambiance is for sure very hip (but decidely not hipster) while still being chic. The lights are lowered a little, and although the music was a touch too loud for my tastes, we were still able to have a nice conversation on our table for six. As the lineage is from Takashi, you can bet they handle fish with care, and there's plenty of it on the menu. The cocktail menu is pretty simple but not terribly so; there's enough variety to go around that you're going to find something to try to fit your taste buds. Our service was efficient but pretty hands-off all night, which I sort of appreciated. It gave us the chance to enjoy the company first and foremost.

Robert L.

Yelp
Service is ok. Food is ok. Cocktails are great. Menu changes a lot, but they are probably experimenting. Tuna Cerviche is nice but slightly undersalted and not enough sauce.
google avatar

Matt C.

Yelp
The restaurant atmosphere is modern / trendy. The music is a bit loud for the room, but no worries. The bar is great but would say it is about 1/3 the size of the restaurant. You seat yourself and there are a few booths and some high tops, but there is also a lot of communal seating. So 5 stars for the staff. They were all prompt, courteous, and cheerful! Simply delightful. For the food, I really wanted to love it, but it missed the mark for me. Perhaps I chose the wrong tapas. Anyway, I had some happy hour dishes that were very reasonably priced. The seaweed salad was great and the pork belly lettuce wrap was delicious. The oysters, not so great. They were extremely small, three oysters didn't even make up enough meat for one normal size oyster. Sadly, I didn't ask what varietal they were but in my opinion they needed to spend some more time in the sea to grow a little. Pictured is the beef tongue and that was a winner for me. Cooked perfectly, not chewy, and seasoned nicely. I enjoyed every piece. Unfortunately the next picture is the octopus, which was bland, chewy, and to be quite frank a rip off. For $12 I received probably less than 1/8 of a tentacle that was sliced into rounds. One piece of octopus sushi has more to it. To be fair, I did not express my discontent with the food, so the staff did not have an opportunity to make it right. I left unimpressed. The prices do not command the quality you receive. This is not the worst but not the best. For me, one time is good enough.
google avatar

Yelp
Tapas bar, happy hour spot, official bar (don't forget that ID) and owned by the same guy as Takashi. If you're looking for Japanese beers & whiskey and are stuck in the US, you've come to the right place. You'll get your specialty beers and a mixologist who knows how to whip up good cocktails and mocktails. He'll even use a real egg to whip up the froth in your sour. As legit as it comes, i only wish this place wasn't charging as much as my favorite NYC joints...
google avatar

Michelle N.

Yelp
I had no idea there was a little bar next to Takashi! The decor is beautiful inside and it's a nice spot to hang out or wait until you get into Takashi for dinner. The drinks are interesting and the happy hour appetizers are unique.
google avatar

Jesse K.

Yelp
Even though they mixed up my menu, they were super courteous and polite about their menu. Not to mention, drinks and food taste so good. I came here because of one of my friends recommendation. I don't regret it and I will come here again.
google avatar

Adele T.

Yelp
I love this place for a pre dinner cocktail before Takashi (same owners). Super chic interior, good cocktail program, what's not to like! This was my first time ordering food (HH before 6 and after 9). Oysters for $2, of course. Large oysters, mild flavor, included tobiko and a somewhat spicy oil garnish. Highly recommend if you're waiting for a cocktail or otherwise. A shining star in terms of SLC downtown dining.

Yelp
Great food and drinks. Bartender Lee was great with both on and off menu drinks. Well balance and not sugar bombs. Food was excellent with a lot of nuance and Asian flavors

I had a great experience at Post Office Place! Because it is downtown, parking is a bit of a challenge. They have a small parking lot on the back side of the building. On a Thursday evening, we were able to find an open spot for two without a wait. They had very tasty food and cocktails. Their Pandan-emic cocktail was so tasty! I absolutely loved it and will definitely order it again in the future. Their sliders were filling and tasty. The chicken katsu was my favorite one! Their food did take a while to come out, but everything was so delicious!

Yelp
I would give this place 5 stars for the drinks and ambiance and 3 stars for the food... so 4 it is! I had the pandemic cocktail and it was amazing. We got the ceviche and California roll slider and both were just ok. Weren't bad, but I wouldn't order again.

Yelp
I hate leaving bad reviews...and especially as one of the first reviews...but it is Salt Lake - so soon the masses will declare their undying love and devotion for this place. The location, decor, and ambiance are fantastic. Service was excellent - these factors were the only reason for a 2 Star review. The cocktails and food weren't great. I had the What's the Dill? The dill was somewhat overpowering making the drink bitter, and the elderflower and dry white wine make for an odd effect on the palate. The food was just mediocre, unfortunately. We had the Tiradito Pulpo, Beef Tartare, and the Lengua Carpaccio. The Pulpo was a little tough and quite over salted. The Tartare was equally over salted and the Aji tasted much like taco spice above anything else. The Lengua was cooked very well but the chimichurri was bland - and again lots of salt topped over. I hope that these are just opening week hiccups versus another SLC restaurant.

Yelp
Pretty cool spot! It is a little small and they have implemented COVID friendly measures like the plastic dividers and closed off tables to keep it socially distanced. They offer a variety of Japanese inspired dishes and offer about 80% of the menu from the restaurant next door. I mainly came here for the sushi rolls. I tried the dragon roll, sashimi, ceviche roll, and about 3-4 other rolls. I'd say I enjoyed the ceviche one the best. Also tried their mushroom udon noodles. Would come back. Keep in mind you must be 21 and up to come to this place as it is a bar.

Yelp
I've been to post office place a handful of times now and think their drinks are quite good. To be honest, I really only come here if someone else wants to try it out. The food is pretty good as well, but doesn't blow my mind. Recommend it for a cute spot to grab drinks, maybe get food elsewhere. Great place to, say, wait for a reservation at Takashi. (Post office place is also owned by Takashi).

Yelp
Food is perfect.....to the point that it is impossible to pick what to get. The liquor choices aren't exactly what I'm looking for but hey---don't come to UT for the cocktails. :) If you are in SLC for one meal--- make it here.

Yelp
Fun place to try just for the novelty of it. We came in at 6:30 on a Friday night and was seated immediately. It's a small space with bar seats, a couple booths and two longer tables in the back for groups. Nice ambiance and modern decor. While they have a big line of imported Japanese beer, I ordered the Little Bird off of the cocktail menu. Tasted lemony and reminded me of emergen-c. It was a good drink and the safest option if you don't want to try any risky concoctions. Food here is tapas style. Your default utensils are chopsticks but I'm sure forks can be requested. We ordered the Hamachi Cerviche, Tiradito Nikkei, Grilled Mushrooms, California Roll, and the Piquillo Relleno. The first two are cold dishes of sashimi accompanied by small elements that represents the Peruvian half of the Japanese fushion concept. Since I don't love fish, I won't comment on those dishes but my friends enjoyed them. For me, my favorite was the California roll, which surprise! It's actually a slider with crab and avocado. It comes with House chips made of fried banana slices. The chips paired great with the wasabi aioli and spicy chutney that also came with the dish. The grilled shiitake mushroom was also a group favorite, safe choice if you don't love fish. Service was fast and friendly but all quite expensive, with drinks costing just as much as the tapas. Overall, it was a unique and enjoyable experience. Also, props to whoever did the branding, as a designer myself, I loved the ephemera inspired folded menu, but too bad the interior design didn't have the same feel. Anyway, I'd try it again but it really is more of a once a year type of place for me.

Yelp
Said they were open until 1am. Went at 11:30pm and the door was locked. Very sad. Perhaps adjust your online listing so poor, sad people may know not to venture to your place of business. Ily

Yelp
One of the best cocktail bars in SLC. The entire bar staff is incredibly knowledgeable. The food is amazing. Highly recommend.

Yelp
This is the sister bar to Takashi. They have beautifully renovated the old bar that used to be next door. They serve drinks and small plates. It is a calming environment and the staff is top notch. They can explain everything in detail that is on the menu. Everything is fresh and I would say it is a Must Try if you are on the waitlist at Takashi.

Yelp
A very odd location and the wait staff seemed really annoyed that we were there. We ended up only ordering one drink because they told us there were only a few available due to it being pride weekend. They wouldn't make a drink to order. They did have a beautiful spot but it is lost in the mediocre service.
