The 38 Best Restaurants in Bangkok, Thailand | Eater

"A descendant of the now-defunct stall at the Chatuchak Weekend Market, Prik-Yuak now lives in comfy, air-conditioned digs on Pradipat Road, a part of town chock-full of under-the-radar cafes and bars. Despite the elevated setting, the kitchen has maintained its high standards when it comes to the food; the kanom jeen sao nam (rice vermicelli with fresh coconut milk), rice with shrimp paste, and even the simple kai pullo (five-spice pork belly and egg stew, a typical elementary school dish) are as good as ever." - Chawadee Nualkhair

"Prik-Yuak has flourished for 30 years, starting in the bustling Chatuchak markets and now stationed in a spacious, inviting location. The restaurant maintains its beloved approach to home-style Thai cooking. Signature dishes like the Southern Thai pork belly and egg stew showcase tender meat, boiled eggs, and tofu. The venue charms with light, earth-toned decor, a serene garden, and includes a café and boutique shop to enhance the dining experience." - Michelin Inspector

My 3rd visit within a year and II always have a pleasant meal here. All very tasteful and balanced in an authentic and high quality of Thai cuisine. The decent atmosphere is relaxing and the service is friendly & thoughtful. The only slight con that I thought was the portion that may be too small for kids (and me) but it’s about right for my mum. I like Kai Pa Loh the most but this round I came here with a girl friend and she really liked Ka Nom Jeem Sao Nam. I also appreciated the addition of a ton of veggies in Kao Man Som Tam. Words don’t do this place enough justice, pls cone to experience by yourself. I will be back!

Such a charming spot! The restaurant is beautifully designed, cozy, homey dining space that feels warm and welcoming the moment you walk in. The food is so delicious, full of authentic flavors and they cook each dish without MSG, which I really appreciate. Service is friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even better. Highly recommended dishes: Som Tum, Khai Paloh Moo Hong (Stewed eggs and pork belly) and Green Curry with Fish Balls. A lovely place with great food and great vibes - definitely worth coming back!

A 30-Year Culinary Journey in a Vintage Oasis This Thai restaurant, having navigated a 30-year journey through various locales from Chatuchak Market to its current stately home in a former primary school, is an institution defined by remarkable consistency and high-concept execution. The final location is not just a dining room but a beautifully preserved architectural setting, offering a palpable sense of vintage charm. The interior, which evokes a refined mid-century aesthetic, is instantly striking. Tasteful decoration, wooden framed windows, and classic mid-century furniture (as evidenced by the bar and dining area in the photos) create an elegant, vintage-meets-modern backdrop for the meal. The clean design elevates the traditional Thai home-cook experience. The restaurant’s true success, however, lies in the kitchen. Despite changing addresses, the home-cook style and taste have remained remarkably steadfast. This is comfort food elevated by the use of highest quality ingredients, ensuring that nostalgic flavors are delivered with impeccable freshness. The commitment to a complete dining experience is further cemented by a thoughtful selection of cocktail creations and desserts that adhere to the same creative and quality-driven concept. The sole operational friction point is the extremely limited parking. Requiring guests to reserve a parking spot simultaneously with their dinner reservation, and often necessitating carpooling, is a significant inconvenience that demands planning. While the setting and the food justify the effort, this logistical constraint is the only drawback to an otherwise flawless and memorable dining experience. Despite this hurdle, the visit is highly recommended for anyone seeking authentic, high-quality Thai cuisine wrapped in rich, nostalgic ambiance.

A great place for authentic Thai foods mostly Southern Thai foods which are a little bit more spicy. Foods are served in a small portion actually too small for some menus such as the deep fried sun-dried tenderoid and stir fried shrimp with yellow chilli and basil. Price is pretty steep I believe due to the premium raw materials used here, however, everything considered, I think it's too expensive for what you get (prices on the menu are subject to 10% service charge and 7% VAT). Still recommended for those who love spicy and Southern Thai foods thay do not want to go out of town.

As per the Michelin guide, Prik-Yuak is highly recommended, showcasing Thai cuisine with a Southern influence. It is suggested that you complement the dishes with garlic and shell oysters, and conclude your meal with delightful desserts such as banana with coconut milk, which offer a sweet flavor. Please note that all menu items are prepared without MSG or oyster sauce.

Impressed with the food, decoration, vibe and service here. It was my first time visiting but I had heard about this place for a while and I really love it. They mostly serve Southern Thai food and it is really delicious. The crab with yellow chili was the highlight. The chili was spicy but not so much that it overpowered everything. The braised eggs and pork had a balanced, clean taste which was also excellent. Other dishes like the fish and the Kaeng Som curry were just as impressive, so I honestly loved everything. The price is a bit higher than other Thai restaurants but with everything I mentioned above it is worth the money and perfect for a nice meal !

The service was incredible. I said I needed to go to the ATM for some cash, the waiter (Max) said he'd arrange a bike to pick me up and take me to the cashpoint. I kindly declined saying it was only a three minute walk and I would be back. He insisted and I was dropped and picked up from the ATM. After getting back to the restaurant I enjoyed the most sublime meal. Thai food is really something to eat in Awe. I had the fried crab meat snack, the stir-fried Barracuda and Paenang Pork Curry. It was all perfect I won't say more than that.
