The Best Restaurants for Over-the-Top Tomahawk Steaks | Eater Vegas

"Beef may reign supreme, but the bison tomahawk at Primal Steakhouse is an adventure into a whole new cut of meat. Priced at $165, this steak weighs 35 ounces deboned and is measured after carving, along with the other Primal Steak selections. Seasoned with a house blend of spices and herbs before being slathered in herb butter, this cut is cooked over gas to lock in a smooth, non-gamey texture and taste." - Jennifer Smith

Although we had reservations, we still had to wait about 30 minutes for our table. The bar service was good while we waited and explored. I had high hopes for Primal and they mostly met expectations, but the medieval theme felt a little campy. I wasn’t sure if they were trying to be serious or cute. It was fun to wear the helmets and hold the swords. Plus, calling it “Primal”, which evokes more of a caveman vibe, doesn’t really match the theme of medieval weapons. The food was decent, although the 50 oz tomahawk was a bit light on flavor. Sides were excellent. Caesar salad did not have anchovies, not even an option to have on the side. I liked this place but felt they fell just a little short in execution.

Great food! Tiny is an outstanding manager/host. He came to our table several times throughout our meal to make sure we enjoyed everything. The steaks were flavorful and juicy and the lobster bisque was outstanding. The chocolate lava cake was very good. I will definitely be back next trip. I was even “knighted” by Tiny before we left!

This is not only the true “best steakhouse” in Vegas, but a might be the best I have ever ate at. If we are even close we come here for a meal, and is a must for any trip me are in town. Note, make sure you make reservations especially if it is the weekend. We have now been here a handful of times over the past couple of years and every time the service and staff are top notch. The food is amazing, I don’t think we or anyone we have gone with has had a less than perfect dish. As stated not only do we stop here every trip, we also make sure and friends and family that make their way to Vegas are made aware of this Steakhouse. And we have yet to hear anything but praise and thanks for the recommendation. So if you want a great meal get off the strip and come here. It is a short Uber ride and definitely worth it. And is significantly above the majority of steakhouses you will experience on the strip.

One of the best meals I’ve ever had and I’m a big critic. The server was fantastic. The atmosphere was really neat and fun. The kids loved it. The wife loved it, the parents loved it. I loved it. If you’re scared to spend the money on the expensive meat.. just do it and split it. We had 6 people share 2 of the most expensive steaks and we still had food left over. Worth every penny. Go do it.

We have been to Primal Steakhouse for several times now and it doesn't disappoint. The food, service and ambiance is such a great experience. I usually ask for the ribeye medium well and it is delicious. Appetizers and dessert is also very tasty. Try it and judge for yourself.

Primal Steakhouse offers a truly immersive dining experience with its Game of Thrones-inspired decor, complete with knights, castles, and a regal atmosphere. The Lobster Bisque and Smoked Chilean Sea Bass were absolutely delightful and exceeded my expectations. However, the steak, which is typically the highlight, did not impress me as much as I had hoped. The service is top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff ensuring a memorable meal. While the menu items can be on the pricier side, the quality and presentation of the seafood dishes make it worth every penny.

Went for my 49th bday and it was so delicious! The overall experience is amazing. The smell of steak smacks you as soon as you walk in. The meal was flavorful and plentiful! You eat like a Viking but with silverware! I won't say much more as to not spoil it for anyone else. You definitely have to experience it for yourself. But, a heads up...it is expensive to dine here. Although we'll worth it!

One of the best steaks and service I've ever had. I don't live in Vegas but I'd come back just for the food, the spicy cocktail, and service. Also if you're a medieval times fanatic, then this is the place to go! Our server Ryan was great!
