Where to Eat Right Now in Murfreesboro | Eater Nashville

"Chef Jason Matheson’s place in Murfreesboro is well-received by the community and checks the boxes in terms of filling out the city with more chef-driven, non-chain eateries. Chow down on deep-fried deviled eggs with lobster filling, cornbread panzanella, and Duroc pork chop with Amish apple butter at this Murfreesboro essential." - Eater Staff

Primrose Table, a Contemporary American Restaurant, is Coming to Murfreesboro | Eater Nashville

"Opening in spring 2019 in the Parkside development at 1650 Memorial Blvd., I profile a contemporary American, full-service restaurant from Nashville veteran Jason Matheson. He promises Nashville-caliber dining at an affordable price, offering familiar favorites with refined flair; sample dishes listed include Korean BBQ-stuffed potato skins, cornbread panzanella salad, and a roasted chicken breast with Woodford Reserve wild mushroom sauce, alongside Wagyu burgers, shrimp and lobster rolls, fish and chips, hearty seasonal salads, grilled steaks and chicken, chargrilled lamb, pulled pork sandwiches and fresh fish. Primrose Table plans to serve dinner six nights a week (closed Sundays) and will feature a full bar plus a “vibrant selection” of wines. Matheson brings experience from Watermark, Marsh House, Cork & Cow and earlier kitchens (including 101st Airborne and New Orleans Seafood Manor), has run the Four and Twenty Blackbird food truck, and recently relocated to Murfreesboro with his family, where they also launched a flower truck; he is active in dog rescue and is a Nashville Predators fan." - Delia Jo Ramsey

This is a nice restaurant with a cool vibe. We are from out of town and went here for dinner with friends who dine here frequently. First look around gave a nice impression. Beautiful bar area. Nice ambiance. We were sitted right away and greeted by our server, Hank. He let us know about the drink specials and then gave us time to think it over while he went to get us all a water. I personally, ordered the pear martini and it was really nice. My husband enjoyed his Old Fashioned. Hank took time to go over things on the menu and answered any questions we had. We had a nice, joking repartee with him which was great. We had the Korean potato skins for an appetizer at Hank's suggestion and they did not disappoint. I ordered the Steak Tips with mashed potatoes and asparagus. It had a beautiful presentation and the steak was lovely but I found the gravy part a little salty. My husband ordered the Fish and chips. It is a really big portion and he enjoyed it. I wanted to take a slice of Carrot cake to go, but Hank asked if he could bring it to the table first so I could enjoy how pretty it was. He was right....it comes with a pretty pecan lace cookie on top! The cream cheese frosting is perfect! We enjoyed our experience and Hank was super friendly and attentive and fun! Give that man a raise! I wish I had taken more pictures but I was just enjoying my evening with friends! Go give this sweet restaurant a try!

We have been loyal customers of Primrose Table since it opened. The food is always delicious. The steaks are arguably the best in town. We’ve tried just about everything on the menu and it’s all fresh, made in house quality. The atmosphere is casual and modern. Our favorite thing about our experience is one of the servers, Hank. He knows us by name, remembers our orders, and makes us feel like friends. Even when he’s not assigned our table he makes sure to come by and say hello. Go to Primrose Table and experience one of the best in Murfreesboro.

Got seated outside after a wait that wasn't that bad (about 20 minutes). Hank (our server) was very attentive, helpful w/ recommendations, and friendly. The food came out very well and in a reasonable amount of time! The steak was cooked as requested and super delicious, and my wife liked the blackened redfish which was seasoned well. However, the bread is good but nothing to die for. Would come back again.

This is some of the best food I have had in a while. I didn’t have reservations and they sat me right away, great diverse menu. I ordered an amazing peach salad, cobbler and calamari.

Jordyn did a great job serving us, allowing time to visit with our friends and not feeling rushed. Our food was delicious, the poached pear salad was excellent. I was expecting a side salad portion, but it was a full size, the flavor and texture combo was YUM! We also had the Antarctic Salmon and the filet, which were equally tasty! Primrose Table offers an upscale vibe and flavorful food locally. No drive to Nashville needed!

We stopped by Primrose Table around 7:15 tonight after hearing so many great things, and wow—what a pleasant surprise! We didn’t realize it was more on the upscale side, so we felt a bit underdressed coming straight from my son’s soccer practice. Everyone else was dressed nicely, but thankfully the atmosphere was still welcoming. My son ordered the kids' mac and cheese with a side Caesar salad, I had the beef tips, and my husband went with the chicken schnitzel. Our server was wonderful—friendly, attentive, and quick to bring drink refills without us even asking. The bread service was just okay, but honestly, that didn’t matter because the food was phenomenal. Some of the best we’ve had in town. My beef tips were incredibly tender, served in a rich mushroom sauce over creamy mashed potatoes with asparagus. The chicken schnitzel was perfectly crisp and golden, paired with a velvety sauce, mashed potatoes, and broccoli. We’ll definitely be back—and next time, we’ll dress for the occasion.
