The 10 Best Bars In Cleveland 2024

"Prosperity Social Club isn’t an exclusive Ohio organization, but a retro-style bar with checkered floors, vintage beer signs, and deep Polish roots much like its Tremont neighborhood. The current owners actually took over the space from the Dembrowski family who opened the original bar in 1938. It’s best experienced on Old-World Wednesdays, when an accordion player belts polka tunes as guests smash Okocim tallboys imported from Brzesko. Their kitchen is also open until midnight most days, cooking up platters of buttery cabbages and thick egg noodles. " - kate bigam kaput

Classic, tavern style vibes with a great drink list and awesome food. Service was excellent. Really enjoyed the varied menu offerings. Fried pepper jack cheese, Polish platter, & smoked pulled chicken were favorites. Cocktails were well made & strong.

Google
Prosperity Social Club in the Tremont area. I really like the display, which gives a very dive bar yet cozy and nostalgic atmosphere. Their menu is mostly American food with some ethnic fusion dishes. Their beer selection is good, with Guinness available, and their cocktails are pretty good too. The bartender was very welcoming and friendly.

Our first time at Prosperity and we will definitely be back! When we first walked in, it was warm and cozy with the wood burning fireplace. The employees were also welcoming and very nice. We had the sausage nachos which were so delicious! Perfect balance of sweet and heat. We also had the cabbage rolls with the Hungarian sauce. So good! I mean, we wanted to lick the plate good! Can’t wait to go back! Already talking about what to get next time !

Google
Delicious food! We had the chicken paprikash and the cabbage rolls (polish style). We started with the fried pepper jack triangles which I will be getting next time I go they’re so yummy. I also got a side of mac and cheese. Delicious and fun cocktails, a diverse menu, great vibes. The only thing I didn’t love was the Mac and cheese, it was too oily and not as creamy as I would have liked.

Google
Nice place to relax and get some good ethnic food: stuffed cabbage, sausage and noodles, chicken paprakash, and a combo plate. Patio is so-so. Restrooms need a total upgrade.

Google
Great place for brunch! I loved the eggs Benedict, finally one not drowning in sauce. The potatoes were nice and crispy too. Add the bacon! I would also recommend the Pancake Breakfast bourbon and the Aphrodite cocktail. The polish breakfast was also very good. The pierogi were soft and crispy and the outside. It’s nothing fancy inside but they have a wood burning stove that felt amazing and the staff was attentive and helpful! A great place to stop in Tremont.

Google
An unfortunate poor experience. I had been to this establishment prior with positive experiences, so I recommended this to my travelling friends and family on 5.28. We arrive to the establishment around 6:00-6:10 EST PM and everything seemed to be great. We were sat and greeted with music and drinks. After ordering appetizers and entrees, we enjoyed our drinks and the atmosphere. Unfortunately, multiple appetizers were ordered and only one was delivered. We are typically patient patrons, however, nothing else was delivered for over an hour. We ordered 2 additional appetizers and 6 entrees including burgers, nachos and a seafood dish. After we realized that it was 7:00 PM EST I went up to request an update from the waitress. She delivered additional drinks. She assured me that everything was in order. The wait continued until 7:20, where I unfortunately had to go to the bar and request that food be prepared to go as we needed to be at our venue by 7:30. She assured me that this would occur. We waited another 15 minutes without any action, or contact from the waitress. We were required to leave cash on the table for what we had consumed as we had to leave to make the venue after 1:30 of waiting. I never post about poor experiences as a former service provider, but it was clear and obvious that our hospitality was not important to this establishment.

Google
Five Stars! This place is great! I first came here about seven years ago, and it’s just as awesome now as it was then. The two girls behind the bar were super nice and welcoming. They’ve got a great vegan selection too. Next time I’m in town from Vegas, I’ll definitely be back!

Yelp
This bar/restaurant felt like a homey old timey hug. We only had drinks and app here and I sooo badly wish we were able to stay for dinner. Everything we had was good, but seeing what other people got looked amazing. Lots of yummy comfort food!!

Yelp
Thanks to my fellows yelpers for convincing me to go here! I would have been a bit hesitant from the outside but all of the reviews were great and this place did not disappoint! They had a fun cocktail menu (including an aviation, which is always one of my go-to's) and a curated hometown food menu. The paprikash had a bit of a kick and the pierogi were great. We'll be back!

Yelp
I had a great time at the prosperity social club for a rehearsal dinner. *Ashley was the best - when I said I wanted a non-alcoholic drink, she made me a custom cocktail that was great... I haven't had a Negroni in 10 years, and they had the Phony Negroni.!!! Menu had a healthy vegan option, but when I asked if there was anything else, she said "we can do the beer, battered fish with hearts of palm"! It was so delicious, and they even had vegan tartar sauce. Thank you Ashley and PSC!

Yelp
After a long day at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and some shopping, my family ended up back at our AirBnB in desperate need of dinner but we really didn't want to leave the house. Enter take out from Prosperity Social Club. The place was packed when I went in to grab my food, on a Monday night no less. Adorable, old world vibes inside. I can see why our AirBnB host recommended this place for a relaxed meal. We were looking for more traditional Cleveland fare, and we definitely found it here. The chicken paprikash and noodles with cabbage and kielbasa really hit the spot, and the patty melt was a hit as well. We did regret not getting any cabbage rolls; they looked delicious. If I'm ever back in Tremont, I will absolutely be back and will dine in.

Yelp
Finally coming back to the Tremont area after a long while and wanted a new place to visit to reconnect with old friends at. This place is incredible, it's a prohibition themed restaurant and it features a comprehensive menu of food and alcoholic beverages. Amazing vegan options! Great vegan tofu wings! Parking can be a bit tricky but it's worth stopping here. Incredible staff, I absolutely love the restrooms, they really make you feel like you're in New York City . Complimentary water too! It's a bit pricey but it's an experience worth coming for!

John S.

Yelp
It pains me to say, cuz I loved this place, but we went for dinner three nights ago. Took our server 10' to get to us for drinks, another 10-15 to take our order, and over an hour (not hyperbole) for the food. No apologies, no offer for a round of drinks. Just a bag of lukewarm fries to tide us over. My dad grew up in Tremont and had drinks here back when it was Dempsey's, so it has special meaning for me. Love the ambiance. Sadly, won't be going back.
google avatar

Matt K.

Yelp
The stuffed cabbage here is absolutely amazing! You've got to try both the Hungarian and Polish versions--they're similar yet so distinct. The main difference? The Polish is made with a blend of beef and pork, served in a rich tomato-based sauce, while the Hungarian is all beef, with a creamy twist in its tomato sauce. Both are incredibly flavorful but offer very different experiences. I highly recommend trying both if you want the full experience!

Yelp
Great little patio for the summer to have brunch on a weekend. Even better if you have a dog as they are dog friendly! We stopped in for Sunday brunch - my husband was delighted by the extensive bottled and canned beer list and I had a delicious French 75 - one of my favorite brunch cocktails. He ordered the cheddar bacon burger and I ordered one of the Benedict's and added avocado. My Benedict was OK - nothing out of this world. The potatoes were good - crispy and filling. My husbands burger was juicy , my favorite part was the bun they put it on it was seriously amazing. It almost tasted like there was honey or something on it, very soft and unique. Service was excellent- we were seated right away and our wait time was minimal for anything. Definitely will be back!

Yelp
Ok. Come here for weekend brunch. Sit on the patio. Enjoy a Polish breakfast. And be happy. Was visiting Cleveland and looking for the best Polish food/pierogis. Saw this spot on a few lists so came here with some friends to check it out. We were all blown away. The Polish breakfast is soooo good and pierogis are amazing. Good size, little crisp on the outside but super soft on the inside. Great combo with the kielbasa and eggs. Get a side of rye toast which is thick and griddled, and DO NOT leave out the potato pancakes which was one of the best I've ever had. It was huuuuge and had some like rhubarb onion jam on it? I'm not sure what it was, honestly but it was amazing. Check this spot out. Take a walk around the neighborhood. You won't be sorry.

Yelp
Ambiance was perfect for a local bar that's nothing too fancy or modern. Great music, friendly bartenders, packed bar, and a great experience. Cute Christmas decorations!
google avatar

Caleigh S.

Yelp
Absolutely some of the best cabbage and noodles I've ever had (and the pierogies were incredible too)! The kielbasa was rich and smoky , and the noodles absorbed the flavor for a very filling and intense dish. The old fashioned (I believe it was ginger maple) was very strong and complimeted the smoky meat perfectly! Very warm cozy atmosphere that made for a comforting, wholesome night out with friends. The food came out before I could finish my drink and both the bartender and server were gracious enough to put up with one of our friend's antics (though the bartender didn't look too amused, and I could mot blame him in the slightest haha).

Hadley M.

Yelp
Love the way this place looks and feels. Great atmosphere. And the waitstaff is very friendly and cool. Food is delicious. Amongst the four uf us we ordered Stuffed cabage, Chicken Paprikash, Fried chicken. I am Hungarian so I am overly judgemental. Stuffed cabbage was ok. Needed cabbage withing the sauce. The sauce tasted more like spaghetti sauce then how it should have been. The Hungarian choice is made with sour cream. I've never before seen or heard of it being served that way. Fantastic mashed potatoes!! Paprikash was on point! Excellent mixture of paprika and sour cream. I was not impressed with the fried chicken. Not nearly greasy enough ; tasted like it was rolled in grape nuts. Decent choice of beers.

Yelp
On vacation in CLE and staying nearby. Classic blue collar ambiance, this place is a real piece of American history. Reminds me of little joints like this I've seen in so many movies. Good beer and good food. I had the fish fry which came with some of the best Mac n Cheese I've ever had - so rich. Wife got the ethnic platter, also delicious, especially the potato pancake. Ambiance was good, food was good, drinks were good, service was good. 'Nuff said. Would def go again next time I'm in Cleveland.
google avatar

Yelp
Food was great, service was good (considering we went on a Friday night) and the vibes were fun! It's a cool little spot with delicious pierogis and a low key energy. We really enjoyed it and would def go back!

Yelp
Always heard this is a cool place to grab a drink and hang out with the locals. My girl and I wandered in for just that and had just that! A couple nice cocktails on a sunny day in the dark tavern was what the doctor ordered. No, it is not flashy, trendy or upscale but the laid back atmosphere, warm smiles of other customers and the wall of "proof" let's you know, you are gonna be good. I am coming back for the Friday Fish Fry that I hear is one of the best during Lent.

Mike M.

Yelp
Great food, great drinks, great service. Pierogies are excellent, so was the stuffed cabbage. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Love to come here on the weekend for brunch. Old school neighborhood bar plus gastro pub quality food. Friendly service, great atmosphere. Solid cocktail list with tons of classics on the menu plus modern takes on those classics. Good selection of beer as well. Fried chicken and Mac is probably best in the city...
google avatar

Yelp
Great service, good food, and a warm atmosphere - what more could you ask for? Prosperity Social Club is a well-preserved trip to the olden days. The pub on the outside is unassuming, and on the inside feels somewhere between a snug and a diner. With fare that is bar-meets-Poland, you'll find plenty of hearty, cozy foods to fill you up, which is especially welcome in the winter months. They have a good selection of beers on tap and a seasonal rotation as well. Most recently, my husband and I came here for a bite to eat after having cocktails down the street. I ordered two of the harissa seasoned chicken tacos, which were cooked perfectly and the seasoning and crema on top were great. My husband had the cabbage and noodles with kielbaski, which took him back to his childhood. I know the beer battered fish fry is a specialty, which we haven't tried yet, but look forward to doing so soon. Prosperity Social Club has an excellent brunch offering! You might have to wait a bit to get a seat in the spring and summer when more people are prone to head out for a stroll around the neighborhood and a brunch fix. Most importantly, the service here is always prompt, friendly, and no-nonsense.

Yelp
I love coming here for brunch! They have an amazing food selection and i'm always torn what to get. Their biscuits & gravy are amazing! The vibe of this place is very chill. The service is always great. Highly suggest you stop in here for brunch if you haven't already!

Yelp
We ventured here on Good Friday to try the fish fry. The place was pretty busy, but we were able to get seated at the bar right away. Bartender greeted us quickly. We ordered the "Gotta Haddock" fish fry and the Hungarian stuffed cabbage. The fish fry comes with a cup of clam chowder served first, which was delicious and hearty. The dinners didn't take long at all, and the portions were huge! The fish fry comes with lightly beer battered and fried haddock and tartar sauce, cheddar mac and cheese, pierogis with caramelized onions and sour cream, and coleslaw. The cabbage is stuffed with a tender beef/pork mixture and served with mashed potatoes and topped with a paprika/sour cream/sauerkraut sauce. Everything was amazing, and although both dishes were very filling, it was hard to stop picking at them. The restaurant has a very nostalgic feel to it, like it's been preserved in time. I really liked it. During our time there, Major League was playing on an old tv via VHS (I think) and the music was playing on a disc jukebox (no touch tunes, which I appreciated!) I would definitely recommend Prosperity and can't wait to go back to try more of the menu.

Yelp
Tremont staple that's near Lincoln park! Adequate street parking. Consider a reservation on a weekend night, it gets busy! We felt bad because they seemed short staffed but the staff moved really fast and food came out so quick we were shocked! FYI they don't have the board games out anymore after Covid. Cocktail was good but after one white mango cosmo I ordered a regular cosmo instead and I preferred that. I do appreciate that they made me a cosmo and with their full bar they are flexible with options. Friend thought the cabbage and noodles with kielbasa was the best he's ever had. He wants to come back for it and said this made prosperity his top cleveland restaurant. Cabbage rolls were tasty and filling but I personally thought the sauce was a tad more acidic then I would've preferred. Great Saturday night, would return!

Yelp
Made reservations at 10:30am for brunch for my birthday. We arrived shortly before they opened. (They don't open the doors until 10:30am). We waited at least 25 minutes for her to take our food order, after I told her we had all arrived. Took at least 20-30 minutes for the food to come out. Food was mediocre at best. A friend ordered the potato pancakes and they were burnt. Service for drinks was pretty good. Then we had to wait another 20 minutes for our check. Very disappointed overall, won't be back.

Yelp
If you're in the Tremont area and looking for some awesome food and a local feel, this may be your spot! I've heard good things about this place for years and finally made it out for a double date with friends. They take reservations, which are recommended on a busy weekend night. It doesn't look like much on the outside but the food and ambiance is not to be overlooked. I ordered their famous beer battered fish fry with Asiago Mac and cheese. My husband went with the shrimp and grits. My friend ordered a sandwich made with friend cauliflower. Everything was fantastic - especially the fish. Crunchy, light, non-greasy. A perfect sized portion. We also ordered drinks. I started with a sangria but wasn't crazy about the flavor. We switched to Blood Orange Old Fashioned's which were good but mine and my husbands tasted very different although it was the same drink. The place was busy but we could still hear each other well and the server was a bit off putting but he checked in frequently and we had no issues with the timing or the service. I would definitely add this place to my list of places to come back to. Check it out!

Yelp
Another delicious fish fry dinner at The Club. Love the old tight building with the old beer and liquor lighted signs. Get a reservation. The place is packed. They may run out of food if you're there late, the restaurant is that popular. The fried fish, pierogies and Sunshine salad, containing all the crunchy sweet goodies, were the best. The clam chowder....meh. Tried Samuel Smith's Nut Brown Ale. It's a English style beer with fruity notes, and no nuts! Wasn't a fav. There's a large patio out back to go to in better weather. Single bathrooms. Not handicapped accessible.

Yelp
A fairly short review for me since I just did take-out for the Gotta Haddock Fish Fry. Used the online ordering, easy to get everything ordered and paid. Fish Fry was ready in 30 minutes, plenty of parking on the street around Lincoln Park. Pickup orders space at the end of the bar. Prosperity looks really cool, just a comfortable old school dive bar with great food. They require masks, are doing social distancing and have put in lexan barriers. Got the order home and the portion size is huge; had about 6-7 nice sized fish fillets, a heaping helping of the Mac and Cheese, plus tarter sauce and coleslaw. The food was good, nothing surprising, just really well prepared classic fare. The fish is haddock, a mild fine grained white fish, the batter is excellent crispy and stays connected to the fish, perfectly fried. The Mac and Cheese is large shell noodles in a nicely balanced cheese sauce. The coleslaw is vinegar based with purple cabbage. Overall the Prosperity fish fry was excellent, the portion size was big enough to make the meal into two full meals, or you could easily share it between two people. The food was really good even reheated in a microwave the next day. Looking forward to giving them another try and eating in the restaurant.

Yelp
Prosperity Social Club was recommended by a friend as I was coming from out of town. The food was 10/10 and the staff were 12/10. What a great place! I'll be back next time I'm in town!

Yelp
Delicious stuffed cabbage! Great little dive bar, but not too overly dive-y. Great bar selection. I hear it's the best fish fry in town too. Quintessential Tremont right here!

Joe W.

Yelp
The food was very good. I got the chicken sandwich which was the best I've had in my life. Service was friendly and fast. I wouldn't judge this place from the outside, very good!

Yelp
Just follow the train of thinking here: as a restaurant, Prosperity offers great food and at a not-so-great price point ($$). As a bar, however, Prosperity offers amazing food while you explore beers from around Europe and fun cocktail creations of their own. Our group tried a host of different options from drink and dinner menu--from cabbage roles to vegan wings. Despite the Eastern European influence, however, we thought the shrimp tacos were the best entree! All the options were tasty really; it's just that they were priced fairly high--$16 for 2 cabbage roles?! I reckon it costs a lot to keep the kitchen running given the quality of the food. So, I think we'll definitely be returning here, but with drinks in mind. If we happen to be hungry, we know Prosperity will be there for us too--albeit pricy.

Yelp
Went for the Sunday fish fry & was amazed! It was crowded but service was still great.

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place but the service was irredeemable. I saw a friend post about the fish fry they had which is what drew me here. The vibe and the food were good. However, it was all down hill from there. It took at least 10 minutes for our server to even greet us. I would not say it was overly busy, though a full bar with 3 bartenders. There were only about 1 or 2 tables including ours. My friend got the tequila special which included a discount on a standard tequila pour and a mixer of choice. He particularly had a bad reaction to the grapefruit juice. The drink was very bad and we asked to switch it out for a beer. Unbeknownst to my friend, the beer he ordered was also grapefruit flavored (there was no description indicating that. The bartender should've mentioned that). As a result, my friend had the same reaction to the drink. It must have been a new allergy discovery but the server was not very accommodating. We didn't want to be difficult, but my friend mentioned the beer was not quite sitting right with him either. I tried the beer, which was poured in a glass and the glass smelled very bad like old dish water. I did not have a bad reaction, but I still did not find drinking it pleasant. We mentioned he could keep it on the tab since we didn't want to sound annoying, but we weren't going to drink it. I would've thought he'd take it off anyway since neither of us drank it, but he did not. $6 for a bottle beer is a lot let alone for one that wasn't drank. It took awhile for the food to come out (we shared a fish fry since we weren't super hungry). It was very good but the rest of the experience would not make me want to come back for it. I did like the Leo (drink pictured) but that was about it.

Yelp
Great service, atmosphere, coffee, cocktails, and food! I had the Polish breakfast (the pierogis were made exactly the right way and I know because I'm part Polish), Dad had the biscuits and gravy (perfectly seasoned), and Mom had the potato pancakes with apple-cranberry chutney with a side of bacon (all delicious; Mom said it was the best bacon she ever had). The coffee is OUTSTANDING and I loved my French 75 cocktail was the perfect brunch cocktail. I will be back!
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped into Prosperity Social Club for dinner and drinks recently and enjoyed my experience! It had your classic local bar vibes, and it was pretty full but we were able to get a couple seats at the bar on a Friday night with no reservation. This was during lent, so we got the fish fry, and enjoyed it! It came with great Mac and cheese and a couple pierogis - plenty of food! Drinks were standard (we got a beer and a martini) and the bartenders were fun and friendly. Overall I'd say I probably won't go out of my way to come back, but it was a positive experience and I'd be happy to return if I'm in the area and looking for food/drinks! A great option to have around.

Yelp
The Mac-n-Cheese was so good! Large portion that I shared with my boyfriend, and still couldn't finish it. The burger was very good quality and so tasty. Hand cut fries were amazing as well.
google avatar

Yelp
Patio in the back! Ethnic platter and fish fry with Mac and cheese was all good. Favorite was potato pancake with the chutney on the ethnic plate and the fish fry and Mac. Sangria was great on the hot day on patio.

Yelp
I asked a friend from Cleveland for a dinner recommendation and she send me here, on the promise of genuine real Cleveland food - and the menu definitely supported that claim, but Thursday is apparently Belgian night and moules et frites for cheap ended up being my plan. Was not at all disappointed with my choice, either. Great meal and a great beer with it, as well as a pretty impressive whiskey list as well, which left me wishing I wasn't driving and it wasn't quite so late when I got there. It's got a dive bar look but it just feels like your local, even if it's not.

Linda W.

Yelp
We wanted to take visiting family to a uniquely Cleveland spot. This place fit the bill with its historic and funky ambiance. Everyone was pleased with the food. We started with potato pancakes. They came out a bit dark but tasted delicious. I asked the waiter for a recommendation and he gave a rousing review for the Shrimp and Grits. It was soooo delicious. I will return to this restaurant to be sure!

Yelp
This place is the quintessential "local hangout" for Tremont. Excellent selection of food and drinks. My best tip is to come here for brunch on the weekends! The kitschy decor and vintage beer signs really add to the charm of this establishment. Definitely a favorite of mine! Highly recommended!
google avatar

Amy J.

Yelp
Nice creative cocktails selection. Wonderful waitress customized my drink w no added sugar. Simple food menu, not much healthy to choose from except shrimp or chicken in tacos. Nice casual bar. Decent whiskey list.
google avatar

Yelp
Prosperity Social Club is a Tremont staple. If you're on the lookout for a great fish fry for the upcoming Lenten season, look no further. Order the beer battered fish fry! It's served with slaw and with asiago mac&cheese for the perfect pairing. To drink, I ordered a refreshing cucumber cooler. Highly recommend this signature cocktail too.

Alyana M.

Yelp
These bartenders were acting RACIST (not saying they were because we didn't personally know them) but the way they did NOT pay any attention to us while the bar was DEAD with barely anybody there but 2 other customers was RIDICULOUS we paid our bill WITH NO TIP AND LEFT. Bartenders are to ATTEND A BAR and be semi social with customers which they were NOT. first time here and we will never ever return!!! Lucky I didn't get the 2 guys names that were attending it or I'd include it in this awful review!!!! we do not recommend going here on any day of the week the service was TRASH.
google avatar

J A.

Yelp
Really liked the fish fry. I think I'd get it again. Fried chicken also very good. Nice little dive. Good personality to the place. Ethnic platter was ok. I think I'd skip all of that next time.

Yelp
This is still my favorite brunch spot! I haven't been here in over a year but it's still just as good! I love this place. It's such a hidden gem. I feel like other places get so much praise and this place gets completely overlooked. The venue inside reminds me of like an old polish club which I love - it has its own charm and outside they have a beautiful patio. It's a great spot for a meal or happy hour on a nice summer day. My favorite thing to get for brunch is the Polish Breakfast which is pierogis, kielbasa, eggs, and potatoes covered in cheddar cheese and bacon. It's not only delicious but it's fairly priced at $13. The pierogis are delicious- they have a great potato filling and are crispy on the outside. Also they have really good coffee here which I think is really hard to find at a brunch spot.

Yelp
Thank you for creating the Holiday Platter for home! The advance ordering on-line was a breeze. Your website was simple to navigate. Once completed, an emailed receipt was received. Thank you for making that easy! Curbside pickup was a breeze! A quick call and your order was promptly brought you your car. The food was packed so nicely. The reheating instructions were clear and spot-on! The flavors of the meals were amazing! We also indulged in the Okocim Polish beer. It made it nice to have the beer with the meal. Wise choice. Lastly we finished the meal with the Apple-Raisin Bread pudding. Holy cow! Never liked raisins before but this has converted me into a fan! Thank you Prosperity Social Club for taking the time thinking outside the box and offering such a wonderful treat! It made our holiday brighter! Cheers! PS. Adored the Christmas Light necklace! It made the whole experience so much more fun.

Yelp
What a great old-school spot and a fantastic meal! A throwback to neighborhood bar style tavern, but updated to include custom cocktails and scratch-made food. We came on Friday night for their famous Lenten fish fry and it did not disappoint. We ordered the full-meal version of the dinner which included a cup of New England clam chowder, fried fish, pierogis, man-c-cheese and cole slaw. I started off my meal with a Polish beer called Okicim which was crisp and light and paired well with my fish dish. The clam chowder came out first and it was creamy and had large, chewy chunks of clam. One of my dining companions said it was the best New England style chowder she'd ever had. Then the main plate came out, overflowing with food! The fried haddock was plump, juicy and flaky with a slightly sweet, crisp batter. The accompanying tartar sauce was quite tangy and complimented the fish perfectly. The two pierogis had been finished / grilled on the flattop and topped with caramelized onions and sour cream...delish! The (shell pasta) mac-n-cheese was super-creamy and gooey and the cole slaw was super-creamy as well. We were all so super-stuffed that to-go boxes were in order, making for a great leftover meal later. Anxious to get back some other time and try other things on the menu...heard good things about their burger and fun guy Philly, so we will most certainly be back!

Yelp
We found this place on Yelp. We were looking for breakfast, but they only serve brunch on Sundays FYI. We ordered the fish with sweet potato fries as well as the fried chicken. Our sides were good. The collards were tasty and well seasoned. The service and ambiance was great. The chicken was freshly fried and the crispness was on point. It could've been seasoned a little more. The sweet potato fries were thick and delicious. The breading on the fish was too much for my taste, but the actual fish was delicious.

Yelp
Went here on a local's recommendation. Exactly what I was looking for! Unpretentious, cozy and classic bar atmosphere with good food and beer. You quickly realize that the retro signs are genuine and the pot belly stove still works. First time there and the staff greeted me like a long lost friend. Tried the fish fry, which they are known for and without exaggeration, it's the best I've had. Furthermore, I lost my hat in the street when getting out of my Uber. When I called the restaurant to see if they found it, one of the staff actually went out and picked up the soggy (and now nasty) thing and kept it for me until I claimed it. In my mind, this was a picture-perfect representation of the kindness and sincerity that I found during my stay in Cleveland. Really cool place that I'm looking forward to going to again next time I'm in town.
