The 15 Best New Restaurants in Tokyo - Eater

"Tokyo’s pizzaiolos approach their work with the same intensity and precision as one would expect from a sushi master — none more so than Tsubasa Tamaki. He trained at the much-lauded Savoy but has developed his own distinctive style and oven technique that make his pies among the best in town. PST also has a substantial menu of appetizers and pastas, often incorporating spices and other subtropical ingredients from his native Okinawa." - Robbie Swinnerton

A friend of us told us about this Japanese Pizza which stunned the Italians when they won the World Best Pizza Awards in Milan. So we had to try it in our next trip to Tokyo. It is better to reserve online before coming over as there is a long Q for available tables. The restaurant has 2 floors, with 3 tables on the second floor and about 5 bar type tables on the first. Space is tight. An amuse bouche of cream of mushroom will be served to you after ordering your dishes. The appetizers were lightly seasoned and allow for natural ingredients to shine through. For the pizzas, the crust was thin but chewy, truly in the vpn style. It was very good pizza, one of the best we ever had. Health conscious people may not like it as there were some burnt crusts. Truly deserving of the best pizza award. Service is efficient and fast. Toilet is small on the second floor.

The Best Pizza joint in Tokyo hands down. The team behind this branch are passionate, dedicated and their love for the craft of Pizza is clearly evident. Definitely not to pass up on if you are around the area and lucky enough to secure a spot. We miss you guys. Loves from Thailand

Google
One of the best pizzas I ever had and the best pizza in Japan so far. It's very authentic and reminds me of real Italian pizza. It's a bit expensive but you are paying for quality. Expect to spend 3.000 - 4.000¥ per person. Also come with a reservation, as it's pretty crowded and there are not a lot of seats. The tiramisu was also very good!

Google
PST serves a well-balanced pizza with high-quality, flavorful toppings, generous cheese, and a satisfying richness. The pizzaolo's technique creates an irregular, airy crust, but excess flour makes the texture slightly sandy. The edges are soft—good but could benefit from more crispness. The staff is friendly, and the cozy, intimate setting adds charm. However, the one-drink minimum (starting at ¥9,000) may feel pricey. A more refined dough would elevate the experience.

Google
great experience here. like others, we've heard of and seen a ton about this place on social media, so definitely had to swing by when we had a chance. they did not disappoint as the pizzas were delicious, only wish our group was adventurous enough to try the special at the time which (if not mistaken) was a butter chicken (??) pizza, but alas we passed on that. hahaha, perhaps another time, another trip back to japan!

Google
Found this place via a discord channel (Paolo from Tokyo YouTube channel) and it was highly recommended. I decided to go on my last night when visiting the Tokyo tower (they have a spot just about 10 mins south of there). No reservations needed as per their website which was great, I may have been fortunate to go when it wasn't a busy time or the weather was a deterrent (mild rainfall). I was able to be seated quickly and I was given a small cup of chicken soup (complimentary). Their menu was available in English and one of their servers knew English, other servers knew enough to get by. Food was delicious, and it's wood oven pizza which added a nice flavour. Well seasoned and for those who think onions are overbearing, that isn't the case with their pizza. The average price is about $20-25 CAD a pizza (2000-2500 yen - more expensive options are available) and it's a medium size. Food didn't take Nice music was playing in the background, you can converse without losing your voice and the atmosphere was a mellow vibe. Highly recommended, and worth the consideration.

We went here for pizza on Valentine’s Day! I made a reservation about two weeks in advance, and luckily, there were still seats available. This place had been on my wishlist for a long time, and it did not disappoint—the pizza was absolutely delicious! Plus, mushroom soup was so good 🫶🏻 I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because the crust had some salt on it, which made it a bit too salty for me. But I highly recommend trying the Tamaki pizza! The lasagna, on the other hand, was just okay for me. The service was great—the chef was super friendly and easy to talk to. Our food arrived pretty quickly too. The only downside is that the space is a bit small. We sat at the bar, which was nice because we got to watch them make the pizzas! The restaurant has two floors, and the restroom is on the second floor (though it’s quite small). I definitely recommend booking in advance because this place gets busy. Thank you for an amazing meal—I’ll be back for sure!

Google
Among the best pizza I’ve eaten anywhere. We stumbled upon this small and bustling place then asked our concierge if he could make a reservation. This helped a lot as we skipped the line and were able to eat upstairs in a quiet room with tables. The downstairs area is an amazement for the senses and everyone working there moves in an orchestral way. Two pizzas, a salad and four beers later, we left with smiles and a memory of great food and atmosphere. 5 stars for sure.

Yelp
Love love love the pizza here. They start you off with a shot of soup as an appetizer. I always get the burrata with seasonal fruit and their monthly special pizza. This time it was short rib, which was super tasty. Also tried the butter chicken pizza which was flavorful. I don't usually love pizza crust cuz they can be dry, but this one was super light and airy. Make a reservation via concierge or come at opening to try to snag a spot!

Yelp
When I read that Henry Golding has a favorite pizzeria in Japan that he always goes back to, I knew I had to visit a pizzeria during my trip to Japan. Although this isn't the one that Henry Golding frequents, PST shows up in a lot of pizzeria recommendation lists. They also have more than one location (I know because I went to the wrong one when my friends were waiting for me at this one). You should definitely make a reservation first, especially if you are a bigger party because the interior is quite cramped and tiny. Making a reservation was a feat in itself; we had to ask our hotel receptionist to do it for us. Despite our booking, some fellow foreigners stole our reservation by pretending to be us (side eye). Luckily, we didn't have to wait long for another big table to free up. We actually sat right next to the foreigners who stole our reservation on the second floor. Although we were only two parties, we had already taken up the whole floor already. Everyone had to order at least one bev, which wasn't a problem with us. However, I do wish they had a bigger variety of non-alcoholic drinks. I got an iced tea but it was not sweetened so it tasted sort of like Ito-en unsweetened teas from convenience stores. My friends didn't enjoy their boozy drinks because they supposedly tasted like soap. We were given shots of complimentary corn soup, which was pretty tasty. Our group got three pizzas to share, one of which was the recommendation of the staff. There were a lot of menu options that were very different from what you'd see in the states, but I felt very overwhelmed by the many choices, so I don't quite remember what we ordered. The size of the pizzas is similar to personal pies in Italy, but it was a good amount for four girls who don't eat that much and one guy. However, the overall consensus was that the pizzas were just ok. There were some super burnt parts (see pics). They were interesting in that they were all very flat and thin. But compared to NYC pizzas, they're not as good.
google avatar

V N.

Yelp
Full disclosure: I'm a big pizza eater that lives in NYC. I prefer NYC style pizza over other styles, but appreciate all good pizza. I thought the pizza was delicious. If I'm only commenting on the pizza, then I have absolutely no complaints. It tasted great and you can tell the ingredients were high quality. My only complaint is that it's expensive for what it is and where. If this restaurant was in NYC, I wouldn't have minded. But I found high quality food in Japan to be very fairly priced. The price of pizza here gave me sticker shock. I believe it's par for the course for high quality pizza in Japan, so it is what it is. It also didn't help that everyone HAD to buy a drink (including my 4 year old). And as much as I loved the pizza, I think the dessert was even better. Bottom line: delicious pizza at a high cost. I don't regret going but probably wouldn't return. I'm more likely to try other pizza places next time I'm in Tokyo.

Yelp

Yelp
I couldn't believe the hype going into this. I had to try it myself. I wasn't able to secure a reservation but I was able to get a couple of their signature pizzas to-go. The wait was not long and it came out piping hot! We took the pizzas to a nearby park and downed them both. I kid you not. These were some of the best brick oven style pizzas I've ever had in my life. The flavors were spot on. The dough was chewy and flavorful. The olive oil was just in the right amount. The sauce and toppings were amazing.. words do not do this pizza justice. You need to try this pizza. It was phenomenal! Highly recommend and I wish I could be back sooner!

Yelp
Tokyo, Higashi Azabu. October 2023. Top-class Neapolitan styled pizza. The place is low key casual and a lot of fun if you enjoy not having to dress up for seriously good pizza with a whole lot of non-pizza options, and equally good alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage options - yes, you can get an espresso. The work that goes into the pizza is seriously deep stuff. Start with Japanese stones for the oven, Japanese wood chips, dough using Japanese wheat, Okinawan sea salt. Watch how close they put a pizza to the flame, how they watch the airflow in the oven and stoke the fire. See them throw salt on the oven floor before another puzza goes in. Taste that leopard spotted char, or even what looks like absolute charcoal and marvel at the balance of salt and smoke and lack of bitterness. And hopefully, you will remember to take a photo of your goods before attacking - to my regret, I didn't.

Yelp
One of the things I wanted to try in Tokyo was Tokyo style pizza. Hear me out, the Japanese like to perfect all things so pizza making is one of them. Enter Pizza Studio Tamaki, one of the best pizza joints in Tokyo, if not the world. It's Michelin Bib Gourmand rated so it's gotta be good, right? Well it is. We showed up around 7 pm without a reservation. I asked about the wait for 2 people and the guy looked at his screen and said he could seat us at the bar. Great! We were excited. The place is small but there is seating upstairs as well. We ordered a few drinks and then opted for the Margherita and Diavola pizzas. They brought us out a small shot of corn soup as an amuse-bouche. We were definitely in for a treat after that. The pizzas are made to order in the wood fired pizza oven. We had a prime view of the pizza-making while in our seats. The pizza was placed in front of us as they got finished and sliced. We started with the Margherita which is tomato sauce, garlic, oregano, and basil. It was so good. The pizza crust is crispy from the mixture of rice flour and regular flour (although I think they'd use 00 flour here). The texture was really good as was the simplicity of the ingredients. The Diavola was next. The sausage, bell pepper, and olives added were a great touch. My husband was a fan of these toppings. He has been perfecting his own pizzas at home and claimed he could make something similar. Time will tell if he does but for now I was super happy to have tried Tokyo style pizza in Tokyo.

Yelp
Restaurants in Tokyo continue to amaze me. Decided on trying PST after a friend posted pics of their meal here a few weeks before our trip. Decided to head to PST for a group dinner w/ our Tokyo fam and the food didn't disappoint. Started the meal off with a bottle of sparkling wine along with their seasonal burrata which was excellent since it was strawberry season. Next up was the beef lasagna which amazing. Love how the cheese was still bubbling when they brought it to our table. Ordered a few pizzas to share (diavola, nduja and the 5 formaggi). All were outstanding and especially loved the flavor of the pizza dough. Was pretty full but was tempted to order another pizza to try but opted to share a few desserts which all were tasty but the tiramisu was my favorite. Will definitely be back as PST's pizzas rival Chris Bianco's pizzas here in LA.

Yelp
Came here during my trip to Japan to try some Japanese style pizza. I wasn't able to get a seat since they were all reserved so I opted for takeout instead. Got the margarita pizza with tomato and fresh basil. It had a really nice smoky char taste to the tomatoes and the pizza dough was slightly chewy similar to other Japanese style Italian pizzas I've had. They use real wood fired ovens and it looks like the oven was imported from Italy. I can't really review the interior or service since I was not able to get a seat. Location is in a neighborhood with a nearby park. Pro tip is to get takeout if you can't get a reservation and eat in the nearby park. I am giving the place 4 stars only because I arrived near opening time and even though the restaurant was empty they did not let me sit due to reservations. Totally understand the policy but no one actually showed up while I ate at the park nearby. Overall if you are in Tokyo and are looking for a nice pizza spot I would recommend stopping by! Pizza was juicy and smokey and has good flavor to rival pizzas I've had in Italy. Totally recommend if you are a pizza lover.

Hillari F.

Yelp
Great vibe and delicious food! Highly recommend. Initially questioned whether to even go for pizza in Tokyo but it was outstanding and a welcome taste of NY and actually surpassed many of our local favorites back home.

Yelp
Love love love pizza! Especially neapolitan pizza. Have traveled the world, and this is the best neapolitan pizza I've had. Michelin guided deserved.
google avatar

Yelp
One of the best restaurants I went to in Tokyo, and among the best pizzerias I've been to in the world. You should make a reservation, because walking in is difficult or impossible at peak hours. They do offer takeaway though, and there's a nearby park you can eat your pizza at. For the appetizers, I only tried the broccoli and it was incredible. I liked it so much, I couldn't convince myself to order anything else. For the pizzas, I tried the margarita and one of their monthly specials - both incredible, and which convinced me you can't go wrong with any pizzas here. For dessert, they make homemade tiramisu and it's delicious.
google avatar

Thu D.

Yelp
This place is credit card ONLY. This is for sure a relaxing take your time type of place. Make sure to make reservation, but someone did do a walk in while I was there. Beer and root beer mix. Be adventurous try it. Margarita is the best pizza I ever had. Hands down. Diavola was spicy and pork sausage was so f'in good. I hate olives and these tasted so good. 5 cheese pizza. Get this if you love cheese! It's a lot. The honey is amazing. Hokkaido ice cream with salt and olive oil and Raspberry panna cotta these two go very well together.
google avatar

Billie Jo J.

Yelp
Such a nice place. Every time we go the staff is super nice. They always remember us. The food is incredible. I love their small glass of delicious soup while you wait for your main course.
google avatar

Angela T.

Yelp
Absolutely perfect experience! My husband took me here for my birthday after going by himself the week before, and I was blown away. The restaurant itself is small and adorable, set on the corner of a side street near Tokyo Tower. We arrived at opening, but it quickly filled up. Staff were all friendly and knowledgeable, and the service was great. But the pizza. Oh my god, the pizza. It was perfect. Cooked in 90 seconds, crispy crust, gooey cheese, seasoned well. We were also given butternut squash soup shooters to start the meal, which were the perfect preface to the heavenly pizza. I will 100% return on my next trip. In fact, I can't wait!

Yelp
This was featured in an "Ugly Delicious" episode so we had to try it while in Tokyo. It was a 5 min walk from the subway station. It's on a corner, a couple tables and bar seating downstairs and upstairs seating as well. Their menu was packed with lots of goodies. They charge more for your second glass of wine than the first so it's better to get a bottle. They have hooks under the stools to hang your bags. We started off with a green salad with prosciutto, the Tamaki pizza, and then a white pizza with sausage. All were delicious and all plates cleaned of food. We then had the tiramisu which was the perfect ending to a wonderful meal. The service was excellent and there wasn't too long of a wait. Cash only.

Yelp
I know - you're probably wondering why I would eat pizza in Japan, but our friend who went da Michele with us in Italy recommended PST. The Roppongi location is the newer, bigger spot. It wasn't as crowded as I thought it would be on a Saturday night. Our hotel made a reservation for us by phone, and they were able to get us a spot 2 days out. Most of the people there seemed to be tourists / expats / English speakers. They have wine, beer, and basic cocktails. I had a pretty good gamay (they're doing a thank you promotion on your first glass right now since he made the Michelin guide). Then I tried the Sangiovese, which was definitely not as good as the gamay. Amuse: Mushroom soup Pizzas: - Tamaki: smoked mozzarella, cherry tomato - Bismarck: mozzarella, mushrooms, sausage, pecorino, egg The pizzas themselves were great. The crust had the right amount of chewiness and bubbles while still being light, and it was nicely salted. If you look on the bottom of the crust, it also had the nice leopard print appearance. The crust is thin but holds up nicely to the toppings. Of the two pizzas, the Tamaki was my favorite. We got both as full sized pizzas, but you can get smaller half sized ones, too. Full sized pizzas run around ¥2100, while half sized ones around ¥1300. I appreciate that chef Tamaki paced the timing of the pizzas so that we could enjoy one at a time warm. Their red peppers for the pizza definitely have a kick - they're great on the pizza, but be judicious with your use. Additional Notes: - Prior notes said cash only, but they take credit card now - There is a ¥300 cover charge per person - Free WiFi. In the end, it was around ¥8000 for 2 pizzas and 3 glasses of wine (2 of which were priced at only ¥500 for the current promotion). It definitely felt a little bit like being back in the US. Chef Tamaki's crust is legit, and I was really happy with our meal. If you're looking for something other than Japanese food while in Tokyo, PST is a great option.

Yelp
Delicious pizza, delicious appetizers, good wine selection and Heartland beer on draft = the perfect pizza restaurant. Seriously, the pizza is as good as the legendary Savoy, plus there's about a dozen varieties to choose from vs Savoy's three. The Divola, Nduja, and five cheese are some of my favorites. You'll see the chef toss salt into the oven right before the pizza, giving it a nice salty crust. Last two times I went they had a burrata with fresh mango that was amazing.

Steve Z.

Yelp
We tried a number of pizzas and they were all very good. The crust is exceptional and didn't fill you up like other pizzas can. Enjoyed a nice Italian wine which was reasonably priced. Will come back again.
google avatar

Robyn Y.

Yelp
It seems that the Japanese have mastered just about everything and that includes pizza. By far the best seats in the house are at the bar where you can watch the magic happen. Chef Tamaki can be seen slaving away making pizza after pizza to order. If you are at a loss as to where to begin he will even make suggestions. Each amazingly rustic 10" pie is prepared in a wood oven stove that creates a nice well done crust. The menu features a dozen or so offerings including a monthly seasonal special. My personal favorite is the Bismarck. The fresh mozzarella and egg oozes over the housemade sausage and mushrooms. Break off your crust and dip it into the yolk! If you can hold off your pizza excitement, start with some appetizers. The fresh burrata with white peaches was light and refreshing while the meatballs were flavorful and delicious. The pizza here rivals some of the best places in the States. I highly suggest a visit if you are in Tokyo. P.S. Yes this place is cash only like most places in Japan. Still 5 stars.
google avatar

Chris M.

Yelp
Dope. Simple formula - world class ingredients and perfection re: execution. Recommend the mushroom soup amuche bouche, burrata caprese and diavola pizza (on par with best Neopolitan in US/Naples).
google avatar

Brian L.

Yelp
Best damn pizza I ever had in my life. The place has a jazz theme and the chef makes the pizza inspired by the improvisation of the music filling the air at this pizza bar that has a few tables but best resembles the best in sushi bar experience. I live in a town with 20 pizza places. I have eaten pizza in ten countries on four continents. I am not led to believe that pizza is cross cultural experience that the Earth has to offer. We all know what pizza is but the reason pizza places are great is the inspired creations of the pizza man. And this guy. He creates arts. Best pizza I have eaten.
google avatar

S R.

Yelp
Ugly Delicious showcased how Japan's pizza game could take on the best. Japan Times wrote a review of this resto stating it has surpassed the best in Tokyo and Andy Haler gave it one of the highest if not the highest he has ever assigned to a pizza resto. Needless to say, PST's chef approaches pizza no less seriously than his peers serving sushi or Michelin-rated French cuisine. The night we went his apprentice (for a number of years) was in charge. The pizza we chose -I believe a margarita and spicy meat -were flawless imho. We called ahead and made a reservation, highly recommend you do so. Staff are helpful and friendly; and price is reasonable.

B Y.

Yelp
Probably the best Pizza I had in my life. I tried many from Canada, New York, and elsewhere in the US but I got the pizza with the runny yolk in the middle (Bismarck) and holy crap it was amazing. Perfect texture, ingredients, cooked into perfection... just get the Bismarck.
google avatar

Raychil M.

Yelp
This is definitely an experience!! Not only did chef Tamaki make our pizza's on the spot, he chatted with us and recommended some items in the menu!! Everything was so fresh and light! It was a refreshing take on pizza...I'm a New Yorker... this is the best pizza I've had! If your in Japan...this is a must!!
google avatar

Lynda M.

Yelp
We were in Tokyo for 1 week and came here twice as we couldn't stop thinking about it after the first visit! Tamaki takes pizza seriously and we've never had a lighter, fluffier dough - even at some of Naples best pizzerias. Might be worth reserving a table as it's small and busy. The staff are lovely. An absolute must for true pizza lovers!
google avatar

Jonathan W.

Yelp
Let's get it out there: best pizza ever made? Not by a landslide. There's so much salt on it I'm worried the ocean is now just flat water. It's also incredibly oily. The dough is too soft as well. With that out of the way, it is good pizza. And how should I know, it very well might be the best pizza in Tokyo. But if this is the standard, I don't wanna bother trying the others.
google avatar

Allan C.

Yelp
AMAZING!! Saw the story on CBS Sunday morning of the pizza spots in Japan.... picked this spot over the others. And this one was the best choice. Hands down best pizza I've ever had, made right in front of us, and each bite was as good as the first. The staff, the drinks and location was all perfect. They need a US location ASAP!
google avatar

Amin F.

Yelp
I do not write reviews normally. But this pizza is not normal, so I have to write. Have you seen Jiro sushi on Netflix? Chef Tamaki is a young pizza making version of him. He told me he has been making pizza for 15 years and he recently opened up his own place. I had the pleasure of eating here after a friend of mine recommended me that I tried "the best pizza in the world". I went there with my father. It is in my opinion the best pizza in the world. I cannot think of another place that would put so much love and effort in the making of its Pizza as Chef Tamaki. Thank you!
google avatar

Samantha D.

Yelp
The pizza was absolutely amazing. You don't immediately think of pizza when you hear Tokyo but this place was phenomenal. They have a wood burning pizza oven, they make the pizza right there and slide it it, 90 seconds later pizza is done! I'd recommend making a reservation, they do get pretty busy. Slight salted crisp to the crust. I will 100% go back!

andrew c.

Yelp
I've been to both locations. On this trip, 2 days in a row. And the original location last October. This is pretty much the best pizza I've had. The table charge and minimum drink charge are jive, and I'm pretty sure the Roppongi location is a fair bit more expensive, but it's all well worth it. The salad is lovely. The pickles made of Okinawan vegetables we had tonight were divine. The panna cotta is fabulous. Points to the Roppongi location for lower gaijin count. I think both times I went to the original location, it seemed like only people who had watched David Chang in the USA were coming to this place. Summary: complete badassery if you ask me.
google avatar

David N.

Yelp
I came back to Tokyo a year later and my first review still holds true. Despite my New York biases, the Tamaki pizza is still one of the best pies in the world.
google avatar

Teanna T.

Yelp
Alright I came to Japan and this was a definite spot to visit. I came at 3:15pm because Yelp said it closes at 4pm. Yelp was wrong they actually close at 3pm reopen at 5pm! Hopefully yelp made the changes so future patrons have a heads up. Back to the Pizza, it was good but I think a bit too hyped up. Salt into the oven to bake with the pizza was a nice favor touch. I got the Tamaki. Tamaki himself was not making the pizza that day (bummer). The overall taste and quality was good. Not the best I've had but good. Would I make the trip for this? No. But if I was in the area, sure.

Yelp
This place is very American friendly and has a good atmosphere. But they ran out of dough. A pizza place running out of dough is like a chicken place running out chicken. I can't be the judge if their food because of that. And this why the only got 3 stars from me

Yelp
We came to this restaurant with a friend of ours from Tokyo who highly recommended it. That being said we found the service mediocre, the pizzas overpriced, and the taste and quality just not there. We left very dissatisfied. The table next to us were from Italy and they were also disappointed with their pizzas.

Yelp
Attractive-looking exterior draws you in. However, once inside it is VERY disappointing. We were sitting at the counter, and had a lingering smell of pesticide. Brusk and dismissive service, leading with the policy of having to have one drink each. The waiter had little knowledge of the menu. We ordered the chef's selection of 5 appetizers. Apart from the average meat balls, everything else tasted the same, overwhelmed by vinegar. Then came the signature pizza. Worst pizza experience in Japan; or anywhere else. Too salty, blend and over-burnt. To top the overall bad experience, we were told that they accept only cash, even though it was not written anywhere. Would NOT recommend and I'll definitely NOT return. Waste of time and money.

Yelp
Terrible, rude service. I've never been to a restaurant in Japan where the staff couldn't care in the least. The food might be good but you can get good food elsewhere and not have to put up with the staff here. Note: they do not take credit cards nor will they split your cheque

Yelp
I have been in Tokyo now for about two months to take a course in Japanese cuisine and I truly enjoyed my experience here. I have been in the restaurant business for over 30 years in Italy and Miami I wanted to try the pizza studio Tamaki based on some good friends recommendation. I arrived at the restaurant for lunch around 1:45 pm and asked if I could be seated, the server at the door told me that they didn't have anymore pizza dough left therefore they couldn't sit me. I asked if I could have at least something else from the menu and a glass of wine, the server then asked someone else if it was possible and after a brief discussion with another server that apparently was a manager he returned and told me that they only had 1 pizza dough left so I could have it but no other items fro the menu where available... I placed my order and when the pizza was served it was delicious and very well done. Two days later I wanted to bring another friend with me and told him that I had a very good pizza there and wanted him to taste it. We showed up at the restaurant at 8 pm and again the same server / manager told me that they didn't have anymore pizza dough left...this was 2 hour prior the official time of closing of the restaurant as advertised on the internet. I was quite disappointed (particularly because we took a 40 minutes metro raid to get there ) then I asked if we could at least have something else from the menu and the answer was a simple and dry no ! I felt that although they had a few empty seats at the counter they where just not willing to help in any way. I can't understand how they can choose to have empty seats if they've run out of pizza dough ( witch I don't believe) when they have several other items on the menu beside pizza. I will not return

Yelp
Daaaaamn, possible the best pizza I've ever had. On par with Savoy and Seirinkan Pizza (who the chef had worked for previously). Great vibe and the chef is incredibly friendly.

Yelp
Visiting Japan from the US and needed a break from traditional Japanese food. Had read about Tamaki and his other pizza restaurants around Tokyo. This was the closest to where we were staying so we went. The pizza here was on par with some of the best Neopolitan places in NYC and better than I can find in Seattle where I currently live. Sitting at the bar and watching the pizzas being carefully crafted while the chef attended to the wood fire was pure magic. I recommend asking the chef for his recommendations. We (4 adults) each had two cocktails/beers, 5 pizzas, a salad, meatballs, prosciutto and ice cream and the total was 240Yen. It's a must-go in Tokyo and pure proof that the Japanese are skilled craftsman in any venture.
