Pur

"Pur bears the hallmark of chef Nandu Jubany, with his emphasis on dishes that focus on top-quality ingredients “in their purest form”, without sauces or unnecessary embellishment, and presented either grilled, cooked on the barbecue or baked in salt." - Michelin Inspector

The 13 Best New Restaurants in Barcelona | Eater

"Michelin-starred chef Nandu Jubany is behind Pur (Catalan for “pure”), where little distracts from the integrity of the ingredients. The kitchen sits on display in the center of the restaurant, so diners can watch as chefs prepare dishes like bone marrow with caviar, escala anchovies atop stracciatella, and salt-cured tuna belly with toasted almond ajoblanco. Head downstairs for a nightcap at the cheekily named basement cocktail bar, Impur." - Isabel Conde

Very much wanted to love this place. We were trying to have one very nice meal during our trip to Barcelona and Pur fell flat. Both deserts were great, but the steak was under cooked for both of us and the wine service was awful. The other tasting menu items we tried were very mid. The place was also empty, even though it was a Tuesday night — it’s kind of rude when they are cleaning the place up to go home ( I.e. packing the display fish away for the night, scrubbing down the countertops) before your meal is over. At the beginning of our meal, we asked about wine pairings and they said it would be €100 per person (the tasting menu we had was €129 for the food itself) — BUT they refused to provide any detail about what wines would come with the pairing and were openly annoyed at the question. When we ordered a bottle of champagne, they didn’t pour a taste to ensure it was a good bottle. I’ve never been to ANY restaurant that’s failed to do this, let alone a very upscale one on the Michelin guide. There were some highlights — again, both desserts were excellent. Most of the servers (not all) were very nice, professional, and attentive. Other than that, this place is a pass. Would not return.

Amazing place with most importantly great service. They managed to sit 4 of us in Saturday without reservation. Yes we had time limit, but yet it happened. Very attentive crew, good cutlery, tasty and great looking by food, all quality product. We are definitely retiring here for more. Keep it up guys and wish that soon you get a star! ⭐️

Excellent food, service, ambiance and wine list. Highly recommend. Great for special occasions. Open kitchen concept in a beautiful restaurant. The steak tartare in the bone marrow was amazing. Also great for fish. The presentation of the dishes was very delicate and well executed. Overall everything was great.

We chose the set Menu a bit too much food. Would recommend to choose 3 -4 dishes in total enough to fill the stomach comfortably. Their sauteed sea cucumber was surprisingly good - a mix of crunchy and soft texture. Love it! In the set menu, scampi was not available but replaced with red schrimp. And the shrimp intestine was NOT removed. The napkin wasn’t clean with obvious stains….they do have a wine opening equipment which looks fancy that doesn’t require wide open of the wine bottle and enables the injection of NO2 air to keep the wine as freshly as it can. Details experienced shows a mixed levels of different perspectives of the restaurant. Paid extra 43 for changing the main dish to sea cucumber. A bit overpriced for the overall experience.

My favourite lunch we had in Barcelona! The dishes are prepared simplistically to really allow the quality and flavor of the ingredient to shine through. The salmon belly was maybe one the best I’ve ever had, don’t leave without trying it. I also really loved the sobrassada from Mallorca grilled with honeycomb. It was also a really good opportunity to try sea cucumbers, give it a try if you are feeling adventurous.

Extraordinary place with excellent service and absolutely outstanding food, you cannot miss sobrassada from Mallorca grilled with honeycomb, sea cucumber flame grilled, bone marrow with steak tartar and suckling lamb ribs and boneless chops flame grilled with all i oli. Depending on seasonal fruit and vegetables, off-card items are available such as mushrooms with egg yolk and a dessert of grilled caramelized pineapple with coconut ice cream

Great food experience. Simple and welcoming design with large view into open kitchen space. It’s obvious that the team here is passionate about good ingredients. Make sure you are really hungry when you come in because it’s worth going to the end of the meal to honor all this craftsmanship.

Yelp
We have dinned here several times, each time better than the last. Each time we have done the tasting menu. We chose to add the wine pairings to the tasting menu. Each wine was introduced with a brief description of its origin and flavor profile, which added depth to the dining experience. The wines perfectly complemented the dishes, enhancing the flavors without overpowering them. Some of my favorite dishes: -the tomato & fig salad with pine nuts- succulent tomatoes with sweet figs and crunchy pine nuts created a delightful contrast of textures and flavors. -cheesecake with tomato jelly was another unexpected delight. The tangy richness of the cheesecake was beautifully balanced by the sweet acidity of the tomato jelly. (I'm not a cheesecake fan and I LOVE this dessert) - the bread with chocolate and sea salt was also divine! The service at PUR Barcelona deserves special mention. The staff was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. They went out of their way to make our dining experience memorable, answering our questions and offering suggestions with genuine enthusiasm. Can't wait to return!

Yelp
My mother and I were shopping on passage de Gracia when we finally got hungry and decided to try this two Michelin star restaurant. We were able to be seated without a reservation and the restaurant slowly started to fill up as we were sitting. We started with a complimentary zucchini flower. Then the oysters. These were some of the largest ones I have ever seen before. Although they were not my favorite thing on the menu, the plating was beautiful. Next we were served the white asparagus. The sauce was incredibly buttery, and the asparagus was cooked to perfection. Not too hard, not too soft. Seasoned just enough. Next came our lamb. Although some of the pieces we were presented looked weird, it was still very tasty and cooked very well. We paired all of this with a beautiful chateau d'yqem. I loved the beautiful plates and the very kind staff. It was also a joy to be able to watch the chefs prepare a lot of the food, as they have an open air kitchen. If I ever come back the Spain, I will be coming here for another beautifully unique meal.

Yelp
This was a beautiful restaurant and the food / especially the seafood dishes were perfectly prepared. They had this chorizo dish served with honey and I had no idea how delicious this combo was going to be. My second favorite was the peas- it was cooked in some sort of broth that was so tasty. It was topped with jamon and it's one dish I wish I could replicate. Not exactly kid friendly- although I did have my two teens who enjoyed it. They had to get used to dressing up since we were going to several nice restaurants on our trip. The service was fabulous as expected. We were seated at this amazing square table near the open kitchen and you could see first hand the attention they paid to their dishes. It was like watching a show first hand.

Yelp
Attentive service and impeccable food preparation. We highly recommend the Pur experience. Don't pass up on the apple sorbet and citrus basil dessert if it is available.

Yelp
As my husband said halfway through, "This is the meal in Barcelona that we've been looking for." Not that we hadn't liked the food so far - we had - but we hadn't been impressed with every aspect of a dining experience until Pur. For anyone in Barcelona, my one recommendation will be to eat here. We had reservations on a Sunday night, but there were open tables around us. They waitress said it's much busier other nights of the week. The service was excellent, the round, cushioned table cozy, and the open kitchen entertaining. Cocktails from their sister bar, Impur, were incredibly reasonable (7€), and from what the hubs said, delicious (babymooning, so I stuck with a half glass of red from a local winery). And the food - oh my goodness. We agreed this was one of the best meals we've ever had, abroad or in NYC. The don't misses: a white asparagus special that was more tender than we thought possible, the Mallorcan sausage with honeycomb (unreal), the veal filet and mashed potatoes. The grilled lettuce hearts were also done perfectly, and while we both enjoyed the sweet, salt-crusted shrimp, we felt they weren't special enough to warrant the price for the small amount of relatively common food. The flan with house-whipped cream was a lovely end to our meal, and we left very full and very happy.
