Qbirria Factory - Review - Chicago - The Infatuation

"This West Loop spot had the misfortune of having its grand opening right before the shutdown, then having to immediately close in March. But now it’s back, offering carryout and delivery. The focus here is on quesabirria, with fillings like beef, carnitas, and tinga, all meant to be dipped in their house consomme. They also have a beef sandwich served on a telera roll, which is their delicious version of an Italian beef. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Team Infatuation

Chicago’s best virtual restaurants and ghost kitchens - Eater Chicago

"At the Qbirria Factory, it’s all birria all the time — not just in tacos, but also in nachos, quesadillas, tostadas, crunchwraps, ramen, sandwiches, and fries. There are also chicken, carnitas, vegetables, and Flamin’ Hot Cheetos options for those who, by chance, don’t like birria, but everything comes with a cup of consomme for dipping." - Naomi Waxman, aimee.levitt, Ashok Selvam

Word of warning - quesabirria tacos will RUIN regular tacos for you! There are a few places in the area offering quesabirria tacos these days, but none specializing in them until Qbirria Factory. I've eaten there 6 times now, both dine in & carryout, and can confidently say these these are hands down the *BEST* quesabirria tacos around. Their menu includes a bunch of fun birria styled options, as well as salads & desserts. Drinks are also reasonably priced (and delicious!). Service is incredibly fast & the staff are friendly & knowledgeable about the entire menu. They were very understanding and accommodating with food allergies as well. Their space is quite large and offers enough space for large groups & parties. The outdoor patio also has plenty of space for eating outside & the restaurant was very friendly with our two dogs both times we dined outside, even bringing water bowls for them. The last time we ordered from them we realized that they had forgotten to include a small side with the order. Before we had even gotten home the manager had contacted me to let us know about the mistake and that they had adjusted our bill to reflect, which is something few places would & have ever bothered to do. If you're looking for great food & awesome service look no further. Phillip & the staff at Qbirria Factory will take care of all your needs. Check them out.

We ordered quesabirria tacos for delivery. I was worried that the food would arrive soggy (we are about 20 minutes away), but the tacos were wrapped properly, so that they didn’t sweat in transit and arrived crispy. The meat (we ordered beef, pork, and chicken) was delicious, and the consommé was deeply flavored and rich, with a smell, complexity and flavor that reminds me of a well made molè. 2 tacos was plenty per person with rice and salad on the side (pour the broth on the rice). I’m thrilled this place is around the corner from my office, and will be going there for lunch and taking home dinner when we reopen.

Getting over the fact two older white gentlemen jump on u as soon as u come inside. There isn't a decor to look at or anything easy to see that tacos are being made anywhere close by. But after ordering online and waiting 20mins....I can say it was totally worth it. The birria fries where the highlight of the day. The consome was flavorful and so good. Birria tacos on point...and the mole wings caught me by surprise.Great job!!!!

Gettting off of the Clinton green line stop, I had one thing on my mind: quesobirria tacos with consumé. I found this place from google. While I appreciated the quietly refined atmosphere and surprisingly reasonable prices; the food itself was lackluster, but edible. The tacos were quite cheesy, large, and had a flavor you could expect from tacos, but it didn't have depth. The heart was there, but not the soul. The same can be said for the consumé. The chips and guacamole was delicious not because it was unique, but because it was an expected flavor. This is a perfect place for a quick bite, maybe a late night snack; but don't make the mistake I did and go out your way to eat here.

Food: 0/5 Service: 5/5 Atmosphere: 3/5 So I give this place a 0 for food because first, you know what they gave us for a "house sauce"? SALSA VALENTINA!! hahaha I was flabbergasted. OK yes, almost every Mexican person has valentina at home, but to call it "our house-made salsa" and charge $1.75 for it, is beyond absurdity, shameful almost! Moving on to the quesibirria tacos, they were more a quesadilla than a birria-quesadilla! So much cheese! The consomé was definitely NOT consomé, it was dense and strongly cumin-flavored. Real consomé is somewhat clear and contains an infusion of herbs (fresh cilantro and onion) and spices and juices/oils from the boiling of the meat. No wonder nobody was there when we stopped in and it was ~1700 on a Friday! Our waitress was the most pleasant experience. She was very polite and gave us great service. I did take the valentina back to my apartment to put it in my sopa maruchan, so that's why I give this place a 1 star.

I have been to this place multiple times. The atmosphere is very calm. This is a place that allows you to sit back and enjoy company with friends. The food is good and the prices are reasonable. The range of food is a bit limited but all of it is quite good. Drinks are priced fairly, I don't have to think twice before ordering again. I often recommend it to others. It is a little off the main path but that makes it more pleasant. I will definitely be going back.

The tacos were pretty good, lacking on flavor a little bit, but overall satisfying. I, however, did not enjoy the consommé at all. I have had other barrio tacos and the consommé was delicious.
