Highlights

Queen City is a collective coffee company in Denver building community from farm to cup. Our coffee comes from farmers and producers we know and is then small-batch roasted in the city we love. We believe that open community and honest relationships, more than third-party certifications, achieve equitable results for everyone involved.

"Five Points got a big caffeine boost late last month when Queen City Collective Coffee opened its second coffeehouse location in the neighborhood at 2962 Welton Street. The space, which is located adjacent to the 29th and Welton light rail stop, is no stranger to coffee as it was the previous home of Purple Door Coffee. Westword reported in May that Purple Door, which employs youth who were previously homeless, was closing up its shop to focus on its growing roasting operation. Queen City Collective Coffee, which began as a wholesale roastery with a commitment to serving single-origin coffees, opened its first coffeehouse location about a year ago at 305 West First Avenue in Baker in a space it shares with Strand Brewing Co. Queen City co-founder Scott Byington said the new Five Points location will have the same coffee menu offerings as the Baker original, including staples like lattes, cortados, and shots of espresso prepared from Queen City Collective’s single origin roasts. However, the new location is also adding some new products, including a small selection of palomas and other mocktails that have been made with coffee instead of alcohol. Queen City Collective Coffee debuted a larger selection of those mocktails when it opened its new cold brew coffee bar inside the new Mission Ballroom concert venue in Elyria-Swansea in August. Other added offerings include a new toast made with sourdough bread from the Rebel Bread bakery in Five Points, which also provides pastries to both shops. Queen City Collective is also developing sweet and savory spreads for that toast, which will rotate seasonally. The Five Points location will also be serving three different lunch sandwiches created by Anthony Lopiccolo, the head chef at Five Points’ Goed Zuur sour beer bar. The shop will also offer a selection of grab and go beverages, including kombucha from Boulder’s Rowdy Mermaid Kombucha. Byington said the new Queen City shop has kept much of the infrastructure from Purple Door Coffee and the main portion of the shop remains “clean, bright, and airy.” However, the bathrooms were painted in abstract graffiti. The shop will also sell the Queen City Collective roastery’s roasted coffee, including bags that have been stamped with a sticker indicating the coffee within was grown by a female farmer. Byington said he and his two brothers, who he runs Queen City Collective with, are continuing to look for other opportunities to expand their business, However, he says they will avoid “opening shops just to open shops” and instead are looking to open in locations where they can participate in the fabric of the neighborhood through partnerships like those they have established with Rebel Bread and Goed Zuur." - Paul Albani-Burgio

Everyone here is so friendly and gracious. Love the hanging plants and art on the walls. Seems like a lot of regulars frequent here as the baristas know their orders and bits bout their lives ❤️

Google
One of my favorite coffee shops in Denver. They take their beans seriously and offer some of the best light roast drips in the city (plus they sell all their beans!). Also the donuts are fantastic! Add a light and cozy atmosphere (a great place to work with outlets and wifi, too!) and some of the friendliest staff around, I couldn’t recommend this place more.

Google
I love Queen City! Their Welton St location is perfect for anyone taking their pups on a walk, as they have a walk up window and you don’t need to leave your dogs outside, if you worry about that. Jorge makes the best Oat Milk Latte, and is always so personable and makes you really feel like Queen City is a home spot. Their roasts are also delightful, they always bring out the natural flavors of the coffee and are roasted to that perfect darkness (aka light). 10/10 recommend! Especially when their partner in the shop Pandemic doughnuts puts out their baked goods.

Google
A nice coffee shop with a chill vibe. Great service and staff. Almond milk latte needs some work. No foam on top and not great almond milk.

Google
Took a weekend trip with my friend to Denver and stumbled upon this place. I was so impressed with their coffee’s consistency. 4 days straight we came here for coffee and each day a new barista made my latte. Each day the latte was absolutely PERFECT. Milk wasn’t burnt and the ratio of milk to espresso was perfect. Hard to find a coffee shop with this kind of quality, not to mention how friendly the staff was!! It was the perfect spot for us to adopt for the weekend.

Google
I’ve been to Queen City Collective Coffee in the Baker neighborhood and love it. So, when I stumbled on this one, I was super stoked. It does not disappoint. The mocha looks amazing and tastes wonderful. Service is fast, baristas are friendly, and the ambience is warm. The light rail run right in front of the shop, a fun extra. Complimentary wi-fi is available. There’s street parking. The small little coffee shop, which seats around twelve, is worth the visit.

Google
Best latte I've had in Colorado. I live about 3 hours away and always go out of my way to stop and get a drink here when I'm in the area. Consistent delicious flavor and milk / foam is always perfect (even with oak milk)!

Google
Love this place! The nicest staff, plus the walk up window is great if you’ve got a dog! The coffee is always great and the vegan donuts as well!

Anna F.

Yelp
One of my favorite neighborhood coffee spots. Small little space on the corner of Welton with indoor and outdoor seating as well as a little takeout window. The coffee is always brewed to perfection and the staff always greets you with a smile. Love the merch too!

Jerry O.

Yelp
Nice flavor to the coffee at QCC! I had an oat milk latte and a donut from Pandemic Donuts - which shares the shop with QCC. Friendly, neighborly service too. We sat outside with our bikes. Many others biked here also, while several also walked in from the neighborhood. A few drove and picked up coffee and donuts to take home. Love the vibe here - on the far east side of Welton Street - just before you get to Downing.

Char S.

Yelp
I love this place because their chai is very good. The donuts are also very good. Next time I want to try a breakfast sandwich. I am not a coffee drinker, but my friend says it is one of his favorites for coffee. It is roasted in house, which is very cool! Buy local, right? The staff is always friendly and helpful. The space is always clean, calm, and bright. The bathrooms are non-gender biased, which is refreshing. Overall, highly recommend this place even if you are not in the area.

Karen S.

Yelp
This was our first visit to Queen City and it left a pretty good impression on us. The baristas are really nice and the coffee is quite good. They have very limited seating though. We had to ask to share with a few people and they weren't very gracious about it.

Amy B.

Yelp
Cute local spot with both indoor and outdoor seating. Have not tried any of their food yet. Support local coffee shops!

Cesar H.

Yelp
I love this coffee shop! They are within walking distance from my place and they have a super convenient window that lets you order from outside which is perfect when walking my dog Everyone is soo friendly as well!

Eddie C.

Yelp
I'm so happy I found this place. Opened early enough to where I could get a quality cup of coffee. Love the location and the employees were all great. They all looked happy to be there. I truly enjoyed getting coffee here. They are a gem in Denver.

Renae N.

Yelp
Great vibe! Staff was super friendly and knew what to recommend. Good coffee, super yummy vegan donuts, short walk from my place.

Carrie T.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious. The service is great and the drinks are excellent. We haven't had a chance to try their donuts yet but they look fantastic. Definitely worth stopping in.

Sc S.

Yelp
Hello, My first time ordering a breakfast sandwich at Queen City. I always and only done the donuts. Unfortunately, it was hard and not edible.

Luba K.

Yelp
Visiting Denver for the first time, it was a mission of mine to try as many local coffeeshops as possible. I hit about 10 and this was top 2 for me. The staff is super warm and inviting, there's ample seating, and I loved the few pieces of wall art I came across. This is, of course, on top of having the best cup of coffee for me (go-to: latte with oat milk). I hope to come back during a future trip, and come early enough to try the pastries! ;)

Alyssa A.

Yelp
Staff was very friendly. Breakfast sandwich and honey vanilla latte were soo good. Will definitely be back when in town.

Matt N.

Yelp
GET THE DONUTS!!! Honestly thats all you need to know but everything else about this place is good too. Good coffee, cool hipsters working behind the counter, good place to study or read.

Emily C.

Yelp
I am a coffee shop lover in general, but Queen City Collective is an especially great find! I came by right around opening time on a cold and snowy morning for a pick-me-up and was greeted by a warm smile and some awesome service. I ordered a decaf latte ($4.50) and a chocolate sprinkle Pandemic Donut ($2.50). The latte was one of the best that I have had recently, and the donut was the perfect size to satisfy my sweet tooth, but not leave me feeling [too] regretful afterward. $2.50 for a sweet treat at a coffee shop is a great deal! When I stopped by, Queen City Collective was closed for entry due to COVID-19, and they had a window ordering system in place. I will definitely be back in the future to try some more of their tasty coffee drinks and pandemic donuts!

Michael M.

Yelp
Amazing coffee, handmade donuts and good vibes; thank you from Encinitas, CA. If you are looking for a local joint with world class coffee this is the spot.

Sarah S.

Yelp
Found this spot when looking for a new coffee shop in this area. It's a fun little spot with a good amount of seating. The staff was very nice. I got a small vanilla latte and it was pretty good!

Lexi P.

Yelp
Visiting from out of town and stumbled upon this cute coffee shop! The worker behind the counter was super nice and even gave us a recommendation for an attraction to visit while we are in town! We got iced mochas and they were delicious!

Janet D.

Yelp
Natural light, brick walls, great floor. Sparsely decorated. Just a touch of some local artist. In the bathroom. Yeah you will notice it in their non gender-biased bathroom. So they also prefer to help out local businesses as well. The space is outfitted by a local company called LVTD in the Rino Arts District. Coffee is strong and roasted in house. Wifi? Robust! The owner Scott used to work for a big named coffee company. So he's been around the block and can talk coffee good. When we walked in what I noticed immediately was the low amount of noise. I guess it's as expected since they're about a month old. I'm no coffee drinker. Adam D is my back up for coffee tasting etc. Although non coffee drinkers rejoice! There's this drink that's in their Tea Section called the Turmeric Late. It's Golden Root original turmeric mix with milk. It's so creamy and not super sweet. With a hint of spice that's just enough to warm up your belly. I think better than a cocoa! My new fave! The turmeric is not overpowering at all!

Adam D.

Yelp
It's no secret that I have an addiction that involves anything related to coffee. My favorite coffee ever is Philz Coffee in California, which has migrated to the Midwest and East Coast, and somehow managed to hop over Denver for now. So I am always trying to find a roaster that equals its awesomeness. Well, I think I just discovered it. Queen City Collective Coffee has been roasting coffee for nine years and finally opened doors to this cafe, the second location. Its bright setting is inviting and offers natural lighting throughout. The barista was super cool and makes pretty coffee drinks including my favorite, the Cortado. The coffee here is super balanced, not a hint of bitterness with an earthy flavor. The first thing that came to mind after a sip of my Cortado was "holly shit this tastes like Philz." They also serve unique drinks like the Dark Star (Nitro cold brew and Coca Cola), as well as, the Turemic Latte, for those that shake from a drop of caffeine. Its open decor, tasty coffee, and free wifi make it one of my favorites.

Yelp
Alfie and I came here years ago and enjoyed a very nice cappuccino and latte together and I remember loving the cute little coffee spot (of course I had forgotten the name) Well fast forward to this past weekend where we wanted a pre take the dogs to the park coffee and I knew that Pandemic donuts had moved in here so I thought we should totally go here. Well; let's talk about my surprise when we pulled up and it was actually the adorable coffee shop I have enjoyed all those years ago!!! Still super cute, great cold brew, and now DONUTS!! Talk about a win win. They also have a convient little ordering window so you can just roll up and grab and order if you are worried about COVID or just trying to be quick! Highly recommend grabbing a coffee here and also treating yourself to a donut while you're at it!

Hillary D.

Yelp
Bright and trendy spot with outdoor seating. Got a vanilla latte that was a work of art. They serve pandemic donuts here too and it was one of the best donuts I've had in my life. I might need to move to Denver for these donuts. They're that good.

Chad O.

Yelp
When I visit some place new, I like to find local roasters to try. I stopped by Queen City on a random Tuesday afternoon and I was treated to some seriously good espresso AND some of the best donuts I have had in, well, maybe ever! The staff are super knowledgeable about the coffee they roast and the best ways to drink it. Pandemic Donuts can not be missed! Grab an espresso and a donuts then send me a note to thank me for making your day better.

Briqn E.

Yelp
As a coffee place this one is legit. Good strong coffee but food options very limited. Breakfast is greasy sweet donuts and bready cheesey and greasy sandwich (Sammy). No fruit, no veggie options.

Isabella P.

Yelp
Donuts are UNBELIEVABLE and the coffee is amazing. Kinda wish I didn't know this place existed, now it's dangerous for me!

Clark B.

Yelp
The best! Great vibe, great coffee and the staff is SO nice. Alex especially was extra helpful and friendly. Definitely coming here every time I need a coffee or pick me up.

Jason G.

Yelp
They've got my vote for best of the best in Denver! Easily the most delicious and satisfying coffee you'll find in the state of CO. From bean to cup this crew doesn't miss a beat. Ownership is committed to cultivating quality relationships with the farmers who grow the beans. Every step of the process of their coffee is handled with great care and intention for quality. The customer experience is lovely and well done. It's simply amazing coffee from your drip to steamy espresso drink. You can find all the alternative but milks here. Queen City is changing the coffee game in Denver for the better. The bar is already rising with some excellent roasters making Denver a coffee hub in this country. No longer is the PNW leading the way in coffee. Come and see for yourself...QC is going to change your coffee drinking habits forever.

Deya Z.

Yelp
This was a former coffee shop that I loved to support so when QC reopened this spot, I had to check it out. It's definitely a different vibe than what was previously there which I'm not quite sure what to make of it. It bright and white set up against brick walls was a little off putting from an ambiance standpoint (read: sterile). I do love the tables and spaces they've created to work. It was fairly quite when I stopped by which I personally appreciated. Drink wise, I went with a standard drip, which was smooth and tasty, not bitter at all. I also purchased one of the breads, which I wasn't as impressed with.

Benjamin W.

Yelp
Fantastic coffee, great and knowledgeable service, A++ local roaster!

Lindsay T.

Yelp
I was looking for a place to work and enjoy a latte and they delivered on both! It's a calm environment with a friendly vibe, and well-placed outlets. I'm not a coffee expert by any means but the almond latte was super smooth and delicious. The staff even brought it directly over-again, very friendly. :) Street parking was easy to find and we worked for a bit and will likely return. Great new find!

Rachel D.

Yelp
We absolutely loved Queen City and decided it will be our go to coffee shop whenever we're in Denver (we're from the Phoenix area). They had donuts for sale one of the days we went, and the gingerbread donut was out of this world delicious. Warm and friendly staff as well!

Janelle S.

Yelp
Great COVID-19 regulations at Queen City Collective (5 Points location). I visited around opening time on a Sunday and was the only person there. It was very clear they would only take orders and serve near the entryway and other customers can wait outside for their turn. The barista was very friendly and very careful. He had a mask and gloves. And customers were expected to wear masks as well. When I paid, I didn't have to touch anything on their end. He asked whether/what I would like to tip and took care of that addition and everything was very seamless. It was a great experience all around and I really hope they are busy during this unfortunate time. The cafe is beautiful and clean and I hope they are able to get customers in during the summer at some point. My coffee was delicious! I got the half calf almond vanilla latte and the barista explained that the vanilla is made in house. I appreciated him working with me to get my customizations - half caffeinated with almond milk. It was delicious and such a treat after not getting many coffees out for the past few months!

303_Reviews ..

Yelp
While the vanilla latte was decent, I wish they had more flavors. I am thankful that the mediocre Pandmic donuts were limited to 2 Per group, I think they need to make the process a little more clear for Customers. The barista- definitely not a morning person.

Dina B.

Yelp
What a beautiful coffee shop! My latte was excellent. The donut options were amazing, I was surprised to have gluten free options! Baristas we're friendly; highly recommend!

James S.

Yelp
We moved in down the street from Queen City about four months before it opened. I was super excited for the possibility of being a short walk away from good coffee, but didn't want to get my hopes up. Luckily, when Queen City opened and I got to have my first cup, I discovered my dream had come true. They roast their own well-sourced coffee and it is delicious. My go to is their cold brew coffee, although I sometimes drink their nitro too. Both are delightful. My husband gets decaf espresso and loves it. They also offer treats sourced from local places, including Goed Zuur, another favorite place of mine from just down the street. It is also a nice place to sit: there are plenty of spots indoors and there is a small patio also. It tends to be fairly quiet inside, but I have gone there with chatty friends and haven't felt like I was about to get kicked out of a library or anything. They are also still operating during the COVID crisis: you can place an order online for pick up or come by the cafe: they are taking folks one at a time. I would highly recommend coming in for a drink and then taking a pound to brew at home.

Izzie N.

Yelp
Delicious, smooth, creamy cold brew, one of the best I've had! We tried a couple of the pandemic donuts which were also super tasty. The baristas were friendly, laid-back, helpful.

Morgan T.

Yelp
Great quiet space with fast internet, the two gentlemen at the counter were very helpful. Being a first timer they were very patient and slow and helped me choose the perfect iced drink for me.

Danielle P.

Yelp
Very good coffee/latte. Cute place. Lots of room. Can sit to study or chat. Nice dog friendly outdoor patio. Friendly staff.

Bradley R.

Yelp
If you want the best lattes in the city, get yourself to Queen City. The staff is super friendly and always willing to recommend their favorite brew-at-home coffee options. I recommend Bottle Rocket. Their location is also super convenient, being across the street from the RTD L line stop at 30th and Downing. We love this place!

Mali S.

Yelp
Wow, Queen City Collective Coffee was mind-blowing. Great great atmosphere. Pretty much every thing that we have ordered was extremely fresh and delicious. Everyone that works here is really friendly and they work really fast. See you there.

Kelli L.

Yelp
QC does it again! We love their new spot, great patio for four legged friends as well. I had a lovely Saturday morning enjoying a capp and some toast on their patio with my pup. Also very excited they have longer hours at this location.

Alex J.

Yelp
Great coffee, donuts, and breakfast sandwiches. I also like that they have an outdoor ordering window since I sometimes bike or longboard in the morning and don't have to luck my stuff up to just grab something real quick.

Laurel J.

Yelp
I love having a great coffee shop we can walk to. Staff is always friendly and their baked goods are delicious.

J W.

Yelp
They have a great pastry selection and the best croissants in town. Always good coffee too. So happy a new coffee place moved in. I hope they stay for awhile!

Amy M.

Yelp
This has become my go to for doing work. The space is beautiful and bright and they service is fantastic. Their artistic coffee is also great.

Jennifer H.

Yelp
Great neighborhood coffee spot. Love the little window they set up to order from during COVID. I always stop by while walking my dog, and order a cold brew with oat milk from the side window. Perfect!
