"Located adjacent to the 29th and Welton light rail stop at 2962 Welton Street, the new Queen City Collective Coffee shop opened late last month as the chain’s second coffeehouse in Five Points. I found that it carries the same coffee menu as the Baker original—staples like lattes, cortados, and shots of espresso made from Queen City Collective’s single-origin roasts—while adding new items such as a small selection of palomas and other coffee-based mocktails (the brand had debuted a larger mocktail selection at its Mission Ballroom cold brew bar). The shop also features a new sourdough toast made with bread from Rebel Breadbakery (which supplies pastries to both Queen City locations) with rotating sweet and savory spreads, three lunch sandwiches created by Anthony Lopiccolo of Goed Zuur, and grab-and-go drinks including kombucha from Boulder’s Rowdy Mermaid Kombucha. Much of Purple Door Coffee’s infrastructure was kept, so the main area feels clean, bright, and airy, though the bathrooms were painted in abstract graffiti, and the shop will sell the roastery’s bags of coffee—some stamped with a sticker noting the beans were grown by a female farmer." - Paul Albani-Burgio
