"Enjoy abundant platters of DFW’s finest Ethiopian fare in a chic dining room at Queen of Sheba. Dishes including doro watt (spicy braised chicken) and yebeg tibs (lamb in spicy butter sauce) can be served mild or extremely spicy, and plenty of freshly baked injera (thin sourdough crepes) is on offer to sop up those richly flavored sauces." - Courtney E. "Queen of Sheba offers halal lamb, chicken, and beef dishes. Go for injera (spongy, tangy teff flatbread) topped with Ethiopian halal meat entrees like doro wat (slow-cooked chicken drumsticks) or kitfo (marinated beef tartare), served alongside vegetable sides." - Courtney E. Smith, Didi Paterno

We loved coming here! Food was fresh and delicious. The vegan options weee impressive and savory! Love this place, it’s so enchanting and can’t wait to be back. We had the pleasure of speaking with Joe and even got to say hi to his mom, both of which are so wonderful, knowledgeable and lovely to meet. Wish I had visited sooner! Amazing food! Can’t wait to bring some friends also :)

Google
This is a very enjoyable experience. The food is always so good and the service is very friendly. They have mocktails and cocktails. They have wonderful options for gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian, and meat dishes. You have not lived life properly until you have had the injera chips with a mild spicy dip. They have literally something for everyone, and all is well made.

I've been here before but it was nice to return to celebrate my wife's birthday. The food, the service, everything is wonderful! Even our four year old loved trying it all for the first time.

Google
My first Ethiopian food experience and it did not disappoint. We tried both their vegan and non vegan options and the flavors were out of this world. The service was also friendly and quick. You can definitely tell this small business is run with love.

I’ve tried many Ethiopian restaurants over the years but it all began with Queen of Sheba which has been serving flavorful food for decades. My parents have been loyal customers even before I was born! Queen of Sheba offers individual entrees that come with sides and family platters. Don’t skip out on the platters! The meats and veggies are so flavorful, I can’t get enough of the berebere seasoning. The platters include 2 meats and 4 veggies, I usually order doro tibs (chicken cubbed pieces), yebeg wat (lamb curry), missir wat (red lentils), shiro (chickpea curry), missir alecha (yellow lentil), and gomen (spinach). I would also recommend the beef zil zil tibs which is slightly spicier and is not on the platter menu. All the food is meant to be eaten with injera which is a slightly spongy, sourdough flat bread that you scoop the food with. Injera can be polarizing and not everyone likes it. Queen of Sheba also has live music on occasion with Dancing on weekends. Overall we love this place and the flavorful food

After 20 years, we returned to Queen of Sheeba on Valentine’s Day, opting for a hike to the suburbs for a change of scenery. The experience was just as wonderful as we remembered. We started with five appetizers, including a flavorful chickpea dip, perfectly roasted cauliflower, crispy sambusa, and Kitfo. Every dish was well-balanced and delicious. For our entrées, we enjoyed tender lamb, black peeper juicy chicken, and a selection of flavorful sides. To finish, we indulged in a decadent chocolate dome paired with fragrant Ethiopian coffee—a perfect ending to the meal. It’s always a pleasure to support a family-owned restaurant, and Queen of Sheeba remains a beloved staple. The ambiance is beautiful, and they’ve done an excellent job maintaining both quality and charm over the years. We’ll be back soon—this time with friends!

Google
ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE! Everything about it was fantastic, the food was perfect and delicious, the lamb was succulent, the veggies were jam packed full of flavor, the injera was a perfect compliment to every item we tried on the menu, and the desserts were the coup de grace! Try everything you can, you won't regret a single thing! And most importantly the hostess, Bethlehem and the co-owner Elsa were so sweet and treated you like you were at their home. Seriously, if you aren't convinced to come here now, book yourself a doctor's appointment and check what's wrong with you because you'll never regret having visited Queen of Sheba. I just wish I lived here so I could be a regular here like so many of the people I saw the owner Elsa address by name with a warm smile and a hug. I truly can't recommend this restaurant enough! And as a bonus, I brought my friend that had never had Ethiopian food before and he fell in love with it and has become a convert hahaha

We were quickly greeted by staff and the place wasn’t crowded when we arrived around 1:00pm. I’m not too familiar with Ethiopian food but the Sirloin Sizzle tibs(see image) was delicious! Injera bread is complimentary. The food, seasonings and eating concept is definitely unique but well worth it! There is also some kind of live music or karaoke that is featured here too. My only complaint and why I reduced the “atmosphere “ to 3 stars is the ceiling fans were incredibly dusty and the bottom of the walls had what looked like years of splattered food. Sounds bad but an easy fix. The staff was very attentive, friendly, and gave great suggestions. All and all, a great date for the wife and I. If you’re looking for a unique experience with food that has unique and powerful flavors, this place is a must! We will be retuning soon to try more items from the menu.

Yelp
The food is interesting and has a wonderful flavors. The that owns and/manages it is always welcoming.

Yelp
Came here for lunch on a Thursday afternoon, had no wait time and they weren't super busy. Relative to other Ethiopian places I've been they had a pretty long menu, my server was helpful in narrowing down my options, and I went with the doro minchet abish, with missir alecha and shiro as my sides. I thought all the food was great and wish it were local to me so I could come back and try more! The chicken had a nice pulled pork type texture and a good level of seasoning. Not crazy spicy, but my server offered some additional house seasoning that takes the flavor up a notch The missir alecha was a bit more dense and almost oatmealy than I'm used to, but still quite tasty. The shiro tasted kind of like a more garlicky refried beans and really hit the spot, I hadn't seen this as a side option before but it'll absolutely be top of mind for future Ethiopian restaurant visits Overall I had a great experience and highly recommend if you're in the area

Kavaragu M.

Yelp
The food wasn't freshly made like I am used to. The service was ok but it's possible they could use more help. The cook came out of the kitchen a couple of times and she was lovely and pleasant. Unfortunately, the food was really a miss for me so I don't think I'll be returning.

Lynda W.

Yelp
Excellent Authentic Ethiopian food. We were greeted by the owner and treated like family as we celebrated a graduation party at this restaurant. The food was delicious and there were several vegetarian options

Greg M.

Yelp
If you want to try something unique cuisine, come here! My son and I went here for lunch yesterday and had a relaxing, delicious meal. Staff, food and ambience were great. The Vegan dip was full of flavor, and the Sambusa's were delicious as well! We had Doro Alacha and Tibes family style. The Ethiopian spiced coffee was so good, bought a bag for the house. We will be back.

Alexa F.

Yelp
BEST- Authentic Ethiopian food. Every other restaurant I've tried pales in comparison! You just can't get it this good anywhere else. I am literally dancing in my seat. Get the doro minchet abish with lentils and gomen!

Yelp
What is NOT to like about "The Queen" ? ? Their hospitality, ambiance and food are ALWAYS first rate ! ! I moved to the Dallas area 18 years ago and they have been my salvation ! It is interesting as most times the majority of customers are Caucasian such as myself. Understand that ALL persons are welcome - regardless of your heritage.

Micky C.

Yelp
I've been here once a while ago & have ordered delivery via Grubhub more recently. The vegan combination platter is the best thing ever. Ethiopian food is just one of those things you get a craving for sometimes & nothing else will substitute - warm, spiced, comforting, healthy, and filling. And what is it about the injera bread that's so addictive?! If you like sour, fermented things, you'll love this. Definitely will be recommending QOS to others and I'm so glad it's so much closer to my new house!

Elisabeth M.

Yelp
Want to try something new? This is your place. Don't ask me what I ordered. It was the chicken dish with jalapeños and the lamb. The protein comes with 2 veggie sides. The "bread" has a very distinctive taste. Everything was tasty. Ask your server for recommendations. Will def come back.

Giovanny E.

Yelp
The place is fancy inside. I did not expect it. It looks different from outside. Our server is friendly and welcoming. The cauliflower appetizer is alright. The dishes are so delicious! All the meats are cooked properly tender, not overcooked. The injera bread has this sourdough-taste and crepes-texture. The bread is interesting to my opinion, i like the texture a lot but not really about the flavor. Overall i enjoy the veggies and meat dishes!

Stephanie N.

Yelp
WOW!!! FANTASTIC DINING EXPERIENCE! We ordered the appetizer sampler and the lamb plate. EVERY bite was flavorful and utterly delicious! Bottle of wine completed the meal. HIGHLY recommend this place whether you know you like Ethiopian food OR don't even know. Bring a friend or two and share the experience this week!

Tina H.

Yelp
Someone who I presumed was the manager, Joe, was so helpful! We never know what to order and he just took over control after we were confused about the menu! For 4 people, he fed us well! This included 3 meats that he chose for us! They had a variety of chicken, beef, and lamb. Highly recommend this place for their food and service!

Phillip B.

Yelp
The Ambiance of the location is splendid. Authentic Ethiopian food as it's best! Quality service and food. Would recommend for anyone who has not tried Ethiopian food. It's savory, filling, and a pleasant dining experience

Jazmine R.

Yelp
Fantastic food from Queen of Sherba! The service was so nice and friendly. Personally I would have wanted a little more salt in the food, but I forgot to ask for a salter so I could have done it myself. In terms of the dessert... The bread pudding was to die for but the tiramisu was a bit icy. They probably didn't let it defrost completely before serving. Knocking it down to 4/5 stars for that.

Bhas C.

Yelp
5/7 A lot of chicken and lamb options that tasted pretty good. 3/7 to 4/7 for some sides. We had this family style so we tried the doro wott, doro minchet abish, doro tibs, yebeg wott, and yebeg tibs (doro is chicken, yebeg is lamb). We also had the queen's appetizer sampler. We also had tej, Ethiopian honey wine. My opinions vary from dish to dish. The doro minchet abish closely followed by the doro wott, yebeg wott, and che che basa (appetizer) were my favorites and what I give the 5/7 for. The bit of spice gave these just the flavor these needed. The other main options were 4/7's and didn't have as much flavor as I would have liked. Most of the sides are also 4/7's for me with some being 3/7's. I think one of the issues was that the injera bread has a strong flavor which becomes overwhelming after a while. THE WINE, however, was GREAT 6/7. I'm no sommelier but for me, this was a great flavor. My recommendation is if you get the "wott" and "minchet abish" options, you'll have a great time. Try occasionally cleansing your palette with the wine so that everything doesn't start tasting like injera.

Joanna M.

Yelp
Huge lot for plenty of parking. The inside is very inviting and warm with some lovely art pieces. The staff was very welcoming and kind. The food is excellent, this is our favorite of the Ethiopian places we have tried so far. I had the combo with lentils, I got the chicken (doro minchet abish) and beef (spris) with missing ale ha and shiro. My husband got Queen's Mahi Mahi with the cabbage salad and Gomen. Everything was flavorful with the just the right amount of spice. The sambusa was good and layering with the green lentils enhanced the flavors.

Santhosh J.

Yelp
Food was spot on, the server was very knowledgeable & explained dishes and options without annoying us!! The decor was nice, food came out within 10 minutes as well. I had the Tofu while my colleague had lamb. It was his first experience at an Ethiopian restaurant and loved the experience.

Daniel Y.

Yelp
This has been on my list of restaurants to try. So, I finally pulled the trigger. The waiter was kind, attentive, and answered questions I had. The waiter pointed out the owner of the restaurant who was pleasant. In fact, it was the owner that seated me. I ordered "doro tibs" (pieces of chicken breast sautéed in a spicy butter sauce with onions, tomatoes, garlic, and jalapeños) and garlic bread. The meal was prepared quickly. The dish was a little spicy, but definitely manageable. Next time I dine here, I will try a lamb dish. Be aware: no free refills on sodas.

Adrie S.

Yelp
Just as delicious as I remembered. I tried this place many years ago for the first time and was amazed by the amount of flavor in each dish. My friend and I came on the weekend and we're able to grab a table. We did family style so it was a matter of who could eat faster lol. We ordered the kitfo and doro wott. If you've never had Ethiopian food before, I highly recommend coming here for your first experience. Our waiter was the sweetest and friendliest and so happy to give recommendations. He suggested the iced Ethiopian coffee and it was perfect for an afternoon pick me up.

Susan J.

Yelp
So I've pass this place a number of times but after this visit I will spot once a week. The service was great the place was not packed and it was early in the day. The waiter was patient with all my questions and answer them in depth. The music was A1 from Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston to usher! The setup of the place was very nicely done. The food was to die for. Not to forgot they have a full bar with a mixed drink just right for a mid-day situation. I have my favorite Ethiopian place that I normally go to, but this is my new favorite and I will be coming here all the time now. Everything I ate was made to perfection and I left with a very stuffed doggy bag.

Domine S.

Yelp
Had to go back and do it again for the bread pudding & the coffee ceremony....it was delicious!

Lam B.

Yelp
I want to commend the wait staff at Sheba. Every lady was gracious, gregarious, and encouraging. Our server was surprised every time she stopped at our table because of how much we were eating. I actually liked the injera here because it's not as sour as most places. On the down side, the food was good but the portion was small. The bread pudding was dry.

Shad H.

Yelp
Good food and we got it to go. Arrived with every Thing we ordered and it wasn't ruined in transit.

Jaye G.

Yelp
My siblings brought me here for my 30th birthday. The food, service and atmosphere were amazing. Will be back again soon.

Agam J.

Yelp
Great ambiance, nice atmospheric sphere. Felt like a fine dining establishment without sacrificing comfort. Had never tried Ethiopian food before, and our server was so kind to explain the options on the menu, as well as what to expect. Staff was extremely patient with my questions and helpful! Absolutely phenomenal vegan and vegetarian options that are not just simply meat impersonations. The vegetables are flavorful, the spices are fresh and present in every bite. Portions were perfect and there's something on the menu for all palates. I can't believe how much this restaurant amazed me and I can't wait to go back.

Yolanda G.

Yelp
Service was excellent Dave and Hosea The owners were there and they were awesome as well the vibe was calm and friendly food was delicious drinks were delicious honey wine is a must try thank you for being awesome to the newbie's

Fredrick D.

Yelp
Queen of Sheba Restaurant I feel like Royalty eating at this beautiful authentic restaurant. First the service staff and the vibe was very inviting. The menu was very well put together with a lot of items to choose from and nice pictures showing what you can choose to eat . If you're looking for a formal or non-formal dining experience. This is the place I would like to recommend for some fantastic Ethiopian cuisine. I'm looking forward to the new experiences, I will receive at this establishment in the future

Larry L.

Yelp
First time at this Ethiopian restaurant and enjoyed the experience. Food was delicious and service was friendly. We ordered the Doro Wot and Tuna Tibs and sampled 6 different side dishes. We will definitely return.

Neha B.

Yelp
The food was amazing. I highly recommend getting the categna as the appetizer and the yebeg wott for the entre. The location has a good ambience and very nice service. Will definitely be back!!

Jason S.

Yelp
Yallll...I've been wanting to try some new food and have always wanted to try Ethiopian food. Joe suggested to get the Yebeg Wott and it did not disappoint. Wow! So good and I'm so full!

Candace V.

Yelp
The food was amazing. The service was sweet, and attentive. The restaurant itself is very nice. I'm also shocked that they've started adding vegan food. Vegetables in restaurants are becoming increasingly scarce, so it's a nice change of pace for someone who wants meat and not-lettuce.

Angela G.

Yelp
I was visiting Dallas from California with my daughter and had to try this place. The customer service was excellent and the food was delicious. I thought nothing could compare to the place I get Ethiopian food at in Sacramento, but this restaurant definitely gave my other place a rum for its money.

Kam J.

Yelp
The service was excellent at this resturant dont get me wrong. However a good resturant that deserves 5 stars comes with more than that. The food was not at all tasty. It was blandly cooked and taste was a 4/10. Ambiance was quiet and their were not many Patrons. I should have turned around when walking into an empty restaurant. And on top of bland food, it was $30 FOR ONE entree. Over priced, and I will never return.

Sereena J.

Yelp
My friends and I came here for dinner after seeing they have a pretty good happy hour most days of the week! I love Ethiopian food and this restaurant always gets the food out quickly and full of flavor. Our waitress didn't know the happy hour specifics and there isn't a happy hour menu available, so we had to show her the website in order for the correct prices to be honored, but that was a small snag. All the food came out in about 10 minutes! I loved the lamb tibs and the doro wat, and you can't go wrong with any of the veggies they have. Half of the restaurant was reserved for a private party, so we sat on the opposite side and it wasn't very crowded. There's tons of parking in the lot around and the service is great!

Mark M.

Yelp
I have been to the queen of Sheba restaurant now two different times. Each time I was impressed with the quality of the food. I have never experienced this particular type of palette. It is totally awesome. The only way I can describe this style of food is a cross between Cajun and Indian food.no matter how you describe it. Everything on the menu is amazing.

Harish V.

Yelp
Been here for Sunday dinner and it was a decent experience. The ambiance was so elegant and clean. It basically gives a high end restaurant vibe. Order: --------- Chicken drumstick and Lamb with Injera-- Good Garlic Bread -- Good Cardamom Tea -- Good Pros: ------ Nice ambiance Friendly staff Quick service Free parking Cons: ------- None to me

Gill S.

Yelp
Im embarrassed that I didn't come here sooner! Fantastic Ethiopian offerings from an old school establishment (30 years strong in Dallas). Interior wise, this place felt like a wedding reception with all the yellow and white theme in coloring. At some points, I thought I was at someone's house with how cozy the interior was. Service wise our server (and perhaps owner?) was super nice to chat with us about the menu, as well as about life in general. It helps that we were the only ones there at 4pm on a Saturday, but from context clues, this place is popping during typical dance club hours. I find it humorous that's there a back page dedicated to italian pasta dishes, since theres a handful of people you probably come in and ignorantly want what they are used to; I hope they don't have to serve those italian dishes that often. I had a sweet tooth mode, so I went with the Brandy Alexander cocktail. Basically an ice cream float with brandy. It's exactly as it sounds and was satisfying for what I wanted. The sambusas were little crisp pockets of gold! They fry these fresh and it only makes it even better. The surprise hit was the lentil and tomato garnish that the sambusas sit upon. I actually ate this by the spoonful cause of how good it was. They have this light dressing that glazes the veggies that keep me smacking my lips. Our table decided upon the Veggie Combo with Doro Wat and Tuna Tibs. Ive never seen a spice rating until here, and I like that they offer it. All the veggies were fantastic, with the lentils standing out the most to me. The Lamb was so good! I could have slugged it back in a glass if I could. Ive never had Tuna in this type of fashion in an Ethiopian restaurant, but it was quite a delight. Don't expect the medium rare texture of a seared ahi tuna but rather cooked medium well? The Queens Dome is a straight chocolate concoction. It's more like a spherical mouse with a hard chocolate shell and chocolate sauce. On paper this sounds like a molten lava cake, but it's actually not sickly sweet. Im surprised this is an option, but I was delightfully surprised.

Sabina C.

Yelp
I'm really glad we found this place. My family really enjoyed the dishes. The services are plentiful and filling. I recommend the Ethiopian coffee also.

Susertopia V.

Yelp
Great authentic food. Loved the food and service. We were looking for Ethiopian good food in the area and this did not disappoint!!!

Priya G.

Yelp
Authentic Ethiopian Food! They serve delicious vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. They have a traditional way of serving the food and the menu explains clearly the way it will be served. The ambiance was good. They did not have multiple options on their lunch menu. But the menu options were fairly large plates with multiple items on them. So you do get a chance to try well-varied flavors of authentic Ethiopian food. This is my husband's go-to place for injera. This time we tried their vegan combo with vegetables, beets, and spicy lentils, their red lentils curry was yummy and the spice was at the right level. Food was hot and fresh tasting with healthy options perfectly loaded with a lot of flavors. The staff is very friendly.

Nes A.

Yelp
I have been going to this restaurant for many years and the owners and staff are wonderful! Very friendly and tentative. They are also very welcoming to non-Habesha customers. Everything here is good and if you are not afraid to try different food from different cultures you should try this place! Today, I went in for lunch and had chicken tibs and the appetizer platter. Full of flavor and good portions that I had to take a to go box home. The lunch prizes are also affordable around $12.95

Lauren H.

Yelp
I have loved this place since I was a kid. Came here, per my request, for my birthday lunch and could not have left happier. Everyone is so very friendly and the food is just out of this world amazing! The honey wine was a very special treat! Very sweet and delicious. Highly recommend if this kind of food is your jam!

C Z.

Yelp
I bought a group here. The restaurant is nice inside. The service was just OK. The food was... not good and received poor to medium reviews from the group. My Ethiopian guests felt it inauthentic and not of great taste. We are looking at other Ethiopian venues. I gave it a 2 because of the interior, but the food was a definite 1 rating.

Helen H.

Yelp
Very nice inside Service is good Not my favorite Ethiopian place thoguh The injera was really quite sour The samosa was really good with the lentils. That was my favorite dish The beef tartare was kind of odd and bland The lamb and the three veggie side dishes were also quite bland.

Alec M.

Yelp
The best customer service i've ever had (not kidding) and delicious food! The ambiance of the restaurant is amazing also!

Samantha H.

Yelp
Overall the experience was lovely. Went early evening so my husband and I got there before the rush. The food was good, but i feel like the level of flavor was lower than what I've had at other Ethiopian restaurants. So below is my review of the food we got. -Queens sampler: The spicy injera was really spicy but delicious, the mozzarella sticks were well cooked and I really liked the batter, the samosa had lentils and was dense but with a soft flavor. -Vegan combination: Two types of lentils (spicy and not spicy), sauteed veggies, pickled beets, cabbage salad, chickpeas, sauteed cabbage, and spinach. Ethiopian tea - flavored hot water with a cardamom teabag Tiramisu- definitely save room for this. Yum.

V K.

Yelp
Family planned to eat Ethopian food for the first time. Huge parking lot greeted us. Few customers were dining in and we were seated immediately by a gracious host who also helped us with the menu. Food arrived soon thereafter. Unfortunatley we were so disappointed with how bland the dishes were. No salt, no spices, nothing. Temperature wise it was cooler than warmer. We made a hurried exit leaving behind most of the food unfinished. Not coming back for sure! The only reason I gave them 2 stars....the waitress was nice.

Nitin S.

Yelp
Dining at the queen of Sheba restaurant is like dining in your best friends house. The ownership and the staff are incredibly friendly attentive and hospitable. The food, regardless of what you get is always outstanding. This time we went as a large party of 15 people and we were promptly seated in a special private party type area. We got almost every appetizer in the menu all of which were fantastic. I got the doro wot (always delicious) but the true star of the show was the delightful, colorful and delicious medley of vegetable and lentil dishes. At the end, the owner was so accommodating in that they allowed us to stay almost a hour past closing just for taking pictures. Highly recommended!

David D.

Yelp
Food was pretty good but the design and layout of the restaurant was odd. I felt like I was eating next to a dj booth at a rave
