"Watching The Nutcracker on acid at 3pm on a Saturday sounds like something an NYU freshman would propose. So try The Long Island City Ballet’s This 70s Nutcracker instead. It should be an equally psychedelic experience. In this original production, “a young man is transported magically to the Land of Television by his strange relative Chick where he discovers ballet for the first time.” No notes on our end. We’d love to go on that trip. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Team Infatuation

The Queen's Theatre in Queens, NY, offers a great experience with friendly and helpful staff who make your visit enjoyable. However, it's important to note that there is no food available for purchase at the venue unless the specific event is offering food. So, if you’re planning to grab a bite, it’s best to do so before you arrive. Otherwise, the theater itself is a solid spot to enjoy performances in a welcoming environment.

Saw The Omnium Circus - I'm Possible performance! It was absolutely amazing. The Queens Theatre is a beautiful venue! Hope to see other great shows there!

Google
Easy to get to, free parking, small but comfortable theater. Even with a full house, getting in and out is pretty easy. Ticket prices are pretty reasonable and the theater is quaint enough that there really aren't any bad seats. You won't get any major/ large shows due to the size of the theater, but we have a good time when we visit. If you are looking for a show to attend, the Queens Theater is a great place to visit.

A nice little theater. The building looks both elegant and stylish.

Google
huge park with a lot of potential. but like many urban objects are not used as much as we would like. having such a great location could do so much more for the city. However, objects should pay more attention to the upbringing and health of children. Such places can play a positive role in society. I think the city authorities should pay more attention to the development and support of such infrastructure.

Google
Such a cool place to visit with my son! We went to the annual kids music event where there were interactive activities where we got to build our own drums, or play drums or other percussion instruments. It was a very family friendly day. I am happy to have been introduced to this theater and definitely plan to come back for shows!!

It's under renovation at the moment. But the theater is open. Parking is free and limited on weekends. The park needs landscaping. And looks messy.

We had an indoor event due to weather conditions. It was classical Indian dance, which required a great sound system. The acoustics were great! I guess they fixed the issues with with it earlier. Nice set up for snacks and buffet dinner.

Yelp
This was my first visit to the Queens Theater. I secured tickets through the library cultural pass. We went to watch "Sugar Skull - A Dia de Muertos Musical Adventure." We had a hard time finding parking as the show was about to start and the park is always busy. There were two small lots nearby that were full. Upon entering check in was easy. They had a small concession stand. The seating was great with no obstructed views. The play itself was kid friendly and told the meaning and traditions of the special day. It was very informative and entertaining. I enjoyed the different styles of dances performed, the colorful outfits, the creative scenery (which was simple but effective). I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and look forward to visiting again.

Yelp
I came here to see a small play, "Between the Sheets." This play was being shown in the downstairs of the theatre...so, the basement. There was not a bad view in the house. Wherever you sat, you had a great view of the performance. You can park in the parking lot if you are seeing a production. There are workers there to guide you. I had a small issue finding a spot as another production was being shown around the same time and people were tailgating for the other production and taking up spots. I eventually found one, although the lot is small. Overall, I feel this is a nice performance space to see a production.

Yelp
Performing arts is something the Q-borough could use a bigger dose of and there is no better venue than the Queens Theatre to showcase it. Save for the few spots around the borough, I find that none can compare to the traveling acts, workshops, and general programming that happens here. It's not Manhattan level productions (#1) obviously, but for the community of Queens, it's the best option. Situated in the heart of Flushing Meadows Corona Park, the Queens Theatre has played a significant part in the history of the area. It was dubbed a number of names, including The Queens Playhouse and Queens Theatre in the Park. It has hosted a number of shows, festivals, and concerts. It faces the fountains of the Unisphere (#2) and neighbors the Queens Museum (#3). The walk here from the subway is never that great, but it's a solid 10 minutes from the Citi Field - Willet's Point stop. For certain performances, a shuttle is offered from Roosevelt Ave to the theater. It's a short ride and a convenient one for those who might have difficulty commuting on foot. For the many folks who drive in Queens, there's a good amount of parking and it's an easy place to hit up. The concession stand here is a bit on the weaker side, so try and get food prior to the show in the neighborhood (#4). Most of the productions I've watched here are very good. The production value is not going to be like something in the city, but for what the theatre seating is like (which is grand on a small, community scale), it's quite impressive. I have always had a soft spot for musicals and the touring shows here have been outstanding. As a venue, the place is lovely. I wouldn't hesitate for a second to host a special event of any kind here. They have a number of rooms that could be customized for whatever and the lobby area is perfect for as many as 500 people. For people looking for a special occasion venue with a picturesque view, the Queens Theatre is a quality option. _____________ (#1) Nothing compares to Broadway. (#2) The most majestic symbol of diversity in NYC: https://www.yelp.com/biz/the-unisphere-corona (#3) https://www.yelp.com/biz/queens-museum-corona (#4) Corona has some of the best food in NYC. Period.

Yelp
I returned once again to my fav theatre in Queens. A truly hidden gem....literally! lol Kudos to everyone who can find it! But it's only hard the first time you go because you'll remember for your return visit here. Also, they even have shuttle bus service from the #7 train! I was lucky enough to see Frida Libre at Queens Theatre. Flora Martinez and the entire cast/production were outstanding! There was a very engaging talk back afterwards; as well as a photo op and cd signing. I became a crazed fan and purchased their tshirt and cd! The cd is just lovely; music/lyrics in both spanish and english. This is a must see show if they come around next year! I was lucky enough to have seen this show last year (which was a slightly different version) but had to see it again when it came back this year. Kudos to Queens Theatre in the Park for bringing such quality performances to Flushing! Keep up the great work!

Yelp
Like the Manager at the theatre said to us before the start of the play "Welcome to the Queens theatre, more importantly congratulations to you all for finding it" If you prefer to drive like me here's a Hint! Enter the park via "College Point Blvd" and follow the signs to the theatre. Just remember the theatre is located by the "Unisphere" if you need a point of reference. Parking is FREE and if it's FREE it's for ME! :) Queens theatre is modern in design, clean and offers a well planned seating layout which is perfectly tuned so every person can have a decent view of the stage. I came here one night to view a musical play "Murder for Two" as a guest of "Yelp" Since this review is mainly about the theatre a quick shout out about the play. If you enjoy a comedy murder mystery, acting and singing go see this play near any theatre playing by you, truly talented Actors/Musicians in every sense of the word, bravo Joe Kinosian and Ian Lowe, take a curtain call or two you guys, you earned it! If you feel like you need a snack a small concession stand is located in the main lobby as you enter offering drinks and snacks for purchase. The Queens theatre will be presenting "The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes" in the month of April so there is always new plays and events happening here. Go check the website and see all the current and future events and pricing. One great feature on the website is you can see what seats are still available, then choose your seats and pay online. There is also discounts for members, students and seniors. Truly a hidden gem somewhat hidden in Flushing Meadows Corona Park. I mean where else can you see a "Broadway" type play at a reasonable price and after you're done and all in walking distance of each other, you can stroll over to the iconic Unisphere or the Queens Museum. My friends that is what I call AWESOME!!!

Yelp
Wow! I didn't even know that theatre like this exist inside flushing meadow park. Its a good size theatre with parking outside & they sell snacks, coffee and any other drinks for a good price. Came here last saturday for a yelp event and had a chance to watch the murder for two. Inside the theatre looks elegant, clean and have a good seating arrangements. The only thing about this theatre is its very far from the train station but they offer free ride to the subway. Its more convenient if you drive especially in a cold weather. Overall its a a great experienced and glad that Queens have this kinds of theatre. On the night time its nice because of the view, you see the unisphere with its lights! Its very unique.

Yelp
A gem of a theater located in the middle of the Corona-Flushing Park. Totally renovated several years ago has become a favorite place for me to attend off-Broadway performances. Every seat is an orchestra seat! Parking is free. Restroom is large. Consession is large with tables and chairs for guest waiting for the theater doors to open.

Yelp
I have know about the Queens Theater for years but I had never been inside until this past weekend. I was invited by the Yelp Elite group to see the show, "Murder for Two". A little history about the theater. It was adapted from the former "Theaterama" at the 1964 New York World's Fair. The circular theater closed in 1985. A $4 million project converted it into a 476-seat community theater, designed by architect Alfredo De Vido, opened in 1993. It became known as the Queens Theater in the Park. It is under the NY State pavilion near the Unisphere. The theater is now used for cabaret, concerts, Broadway revivals, new productions, and film festivals. It has the main theater a cabaret and a smaller performance space downstairs. I really liked the art deco theater seats that were installed during the remodeling. The sight lines to the stage are very good as was the sound. "Murder for Two" is a two man musical comedy staring Joe Kinosian who plays all the suspects and Ian Lowe who plays the detective. Mr. Kinosian reminded me of Martin Short with all the characters he plays and their gestures and voices. Both actors play piano and sing. Sometimes at the same time. Mr. Kinosian also wrote the play and the music, the lyrics are by Kellen Blair. The staging is minimal but the show only needs the two actors and a piano. There is also a little audience participation. It was an enjoyable evening off Broadway at the theater. The Queens Theater is a very nice venue and would also make a good place to see some rock and roll played.

Yelp
Had the great fortune of being in the Queens Theatre twice this year. Once for the CAYE / UYE: Only In Queens Scavenger Hunt + Concert Day in FMCP. Where I first ventured into Queens Theatre to sign up for the Scavenger Hunt back in June. This time it was for "Elite Night: In the Car with Blossom and Len". From the outside it's a circular building once you walk in it's so contemporary and well lite up during the day as you are surrounded by glass window panels which the sunlight just lights up the place. Very spacious and there is an area to purchase coffee and snacks. Love the smell of coffee being made here. The Queens Theatre is a hidden secret even driving to get here is like a hidden maze. Get ready for a bumpy ride for they are fixing the road. Parking is free and they give you a pass to put on dashboard of the car when you coming to see a play/show/event. Building is right next to the World's Fair Pavilion. Bathrooms are clean and well maintained. Chairs are very comfortable in the theatre and good acoustics. Practically hear and see well from all sides of the theatre. Did not know that there were 2 theaters located within this building. Staff is friendly and they greet you as you give them the tickets. It has that local community vibe. Will definitely be back to catch future shows and events.

Yelp
Queens Theatre is a great place to watch burgeoning talent and great performances in Queens. Originally part of the 1964 World Fair, it was converted from 360 degree movie theatre to a performing arts venue. The open glass walled lobby offers a sweeping ~180 degree view of Flushing Meadows Corona Park. Queens Theatre is next to the gigantic Unisphere (the 120 feet globe that was made for the World Fair) and comes with modest parking lot. If you can't find parking in the Theatre lot, you can park in the many parking lots nearby. The theatre is spacious, with many soft velvet seats offering a full view of the stage. The staff is cordial and efficient. We've seen The Queen Bees, To Kill a Mockingbird, and In The Car with Blossom and Len. The performances were very entertaining. To Kill a Mockingbird was riveting and the actors and actresses gave a stunning compelling performance. We cheered, laughed and cried during the two hour performance. The acting and directing rivaled any play on Broadway! Amazing! Come here for a great plays and dramas if you live in Queens/ Long Island!

Yelp
I had attended a play at Queens Theater in the Park over ten years ago, so when I went back recently it awoke some faint memories. Having taken the train there, I was happy to see that there is a shuttle service that takes people between the subway station and the theater - it would be rather difficult to get there otherwise without a car. When we arrived at the theater, I could tell they've renovated. It looked a lot more modern than I remembered. The circular building evokes the look of the park itself with mini-versions of the tall towers with discs at the top behind the theater (the theater is right under said discs). I went at night, and the lighting was quite spectacular. It was like a shining beacon in a world of darkness. Inside you come up to the ticket booths right near the entrance, and the main area is a nice waiting area with tables and chairs. That night a party was going on so party-goers were going into the main theater, while another play was taking place next to it. A makeshift refreshment stand with coffee, snacks, candy and drinks were set up in this main area. I watched the staff set it up and it was really impressive to see how fast they put it all together. Our friend was having a performance in the downstairs theater, one of the smaller ones. It's basically a black box theater, with somewhat limited seating (one person would up having to sit near the stage) but no one was uncomfortable that I could tell. The stage is wide and there was plenty of room to decorate and the play was able to separate the stage into three distinct sections for the performance. The staff was friendly and helpful. The bathroom facilities were clean and all the various fliers and posters around were all up to date. Clearly this is a place that is well taken care of. While it will take a bit of effort to get there, this is a fine place to see a performance!

Yelp
This is solely based on my wait for a scavenger hunt to start. The staff seemed to have everything under control. There was no chaos and it was nice and cool. I appreciate that the ac was on full blast. A plus to the theater is the snack and beverage bar. There wasn't much variety, but I was surprised to see wine and shots as options.

Yelp
First time at this theatre, and was amazed by how well kept it was, not to mention that it was surprisingly located in the middle of Corona Park. I had no idea that this place had been since the 60s! We came here to watch the show "In the car with Blossom and Len" and it was amazing! The acting was superb, and the storyline was very relatable. I thoroughly enjoyed the show and would highly recommend it! I know for sure I'll be coming back to this theatre for more shows to come!!

Yelp
This is an historic gem of a theater straight out of the Mad Men era, plus it's one of three original sections of the old New York State Pavilion from the 1964/65 World's Fair in Flushing Meadows. Today it sports a new glass window lobby extension (with a concessions bar) adding an inviting space to the front that looks so magical with its lights after dark. There's adjacent free parking too. It's a little out of the way, but I love going here for the Queens Theatre shows and to just look up at the pavilion's towers (as seen in Men in Black!) and the tent which still have a striking appearance. Titan Theatre Company does a lovely yearly version of "A Christmas Carol" here, complete with singing and carols. Their fun version of "Much Ado About Nothing" was cleverly staged in a smaller downstairs venue. The Chinese acrobats, Paul Taylor Dance and Robert Wuhl's "Hit Lit" were big hits with me as well, but my favorite has to be "Heat Wave:The Jack Cole Project". I have been hoping ever since to see a Broadway transfer of this but sadly it has not happened. Please, please bring back Heat Wave; it has been criminally unrevived.

Yelp
Born and raised in Queens, yet I've never been to the Queens Theater. What a mistake that was. Came here for a show called MURDER FOR TWO. It was a fantastic two-man show where two men play out an entire murder mystery--one plays the detective and the other plays thirteen different suspects. He slipped in and out of various characters. It was an impressive display of acting ability. The music and singing was also great. Now you're not going to go see that play since it's over, but judging from the one show, this is a place you're going to want to frequent. The theater has a beautiful lobby that's easy to socialize and relax before the show. You'll also be able to purchase confections as well as drinks, including beer! Do note: it's cash only. The theater itself is small, but not cramped. Every seat in the house is a good seat, so no worries there. If you're into theater or just want to get your feet wet, you should not miss an opportunity to watch a show here. It's good for Queens and good for the arts. Make a day of it and walk around Flushing Meadows while you're there.

Yelp
I love this place- it's located in the middle of Flushing Meadows Park. It's so much fun to get to, by foot, shuttle, or car. They have ample parking and the building itself is beautiful on the outside. It's got a very updated look without being obnoxious. The staff here have always been super friendly and helpful when I've gone. They always make me feel welcome and are eager to offer assistance. They have an awesome food stand that offers a good range of packaged snacks and beverages, which they trust you with to bring into the theater. The food is mediocre and a little pricey, but it's 200% worth supporting this place. I love the main theatre- it's spacious but just small enough to be cozy. It's old fashioned so every seat is basically a 'good' seat - there's no obstructed views. I even enjoyed the basement theatre which was very intimate and set the perfect mood for the play I saw. At this point, I'm looking to join as a member because I have really fallen in love with the place- they have a great variety of shows throughout the year and they are local. I love what they have done and continue to do and hope that they continue to succeed for many many years to come.

Yelp
Flushing Meadows park is one of my favorite places in Queens. The zoo, museum, Hall of Science, etc., always bring me here. I don't understand how I didn't know about this beautiful theatre after living in Queens for 30 years! Thanks to a Yelp event, I had the pleasure of experiencing a wonderful night here. Getting here is pretty simple. If you drive, there's free parking next to the theatre and if you're taking a cab, it'll be easy for them to find the place inside the park with all of the signage and the road that leaves you right in front of the place. If you're taking mass transit, it's also simple. The Q58 leaves you on Corona Avenue & 108th street and then you can just walk a couple of blocks to the park, walk over the bridge and you're there. The 7 train is a bit further away but there is a free shuttle bus that runs before and after the show that'll take you to the Mets-Willets Point station. It's not a huge shuttle bus and it's kind of rickety but it goes back and forth quite a few times. If you're worried about walking out of the park at night, it's relatively safe. They had security driving around. Pretty active @ night there. When I was there last night they were filming a movie. The park is super gorgeous at night. The theater is lit up so pretty. I love the building itself and it's design. Very clean and sleek. Friendly staff, fairly spacious and spotless. Lovely lobby with glass walls and great views of the park. Bathrooms are tidy and functional. They have a concession stand that sells beverages and snacks beforehand. Can't vouch for the prices and what they sell due to the fact that Yelp spoiled us with free food and drinks that night! If you get there early for a show, they have seating available where you can munch on your snacks and drink your beverages before you enter the theater/studio/cabaret space. Food and drink are not allowed in the theater itself. Beautiful old seating in the theater. Not a bad view from anywhere in it. I was front row for a showing of To Kill a Mockingbird. Spectacular is all I can say! Very well put together, fabulous performances and just a captivating experience. Everything ran on time and I had a blast coming here for the first time. I can't wait to come back! Highly recommend venturing here for a lovely theater experience in the middle of a huge park in Queens! P.S. There are tons of Raccoon's that call the old Pavilion (in back of the theater) home. They're literally running all over the place. If you enjoy nature/animals as myself, you'll have a good time seeing them playing peek-a-boo with you and scurrying all over the place.

Lisa E.

Yelp
Sweet theater with not a bad seat in the house. For the two plays that I was fortunate enough to be invited to, our seats were ironically in the same area to the left of the stage and were fantastic.. I enjoy sitting off to the side and feel that this angle allows me to have a better view than center does. Thankfully the temperature in the theater was fairly cool.. it makes it so tempting to doze off after a long day when it becomes too warm. The straight 90 minutes of show time without an intermission was just the right amount of time before my breaking point and allowed the show to end at a reasonable hour. The staff is helpful and friendly and the venue itself is modern and tidy. There is a concession in the lobby that sells assorted little bottles of wine, some beer , coffee and soft drinks and pre packaged snacks. CASH only. We never carry cash, so therefore we're not tempted to snack. I enjoy this whole area.. the park and the surrounding paths. Hang in there trying to actually find the Theater's parking and entrance from the poorly marked roadway.. you'll drive around and around in circles, but eventually you want to be to the east side of the unisphere.

Yelp
I had never seen a concert in Queens and it was my first time attending a show at the Queens Theater. I did not know what to expect when I came here recently to see Chix 6. The building itself was renovated a few years back and is now a very modern looking circular facility. Having the "flying saucer" structures that we all know from Men In Black towering over it makes for a cool view. At night it is all lit up and looks terrific. The inside is bright and airy with many windows to let light in. Very clean, with tables and chairs to sit at in the lobby. Nice selection of snacks and candies to choose from and all were $1.00! Also serves up coffee, cold drinks, and some alcoholic beverages at decent prices. The theater and stage itself is actually quite nice. Comfortable seating with killer leg room! There is really not a bad seat in the house as this place projects a really intimate experience. Not a terribly large theater so the stage is up close and personal. Good sound throughout. Bathrooms are also very clean too. I also have to note that the staff here was very friendly and accommodating. A big plus is that they offer a free shuttle service on show performance nights back and forth to the #7 subway stop. Looking forward to seeing a future show here for sure.

Lesie H.

Yelp
Nice theater but it's so far! It's so hidden! I didn't see the shuttle! So, if you want to walk here: - enter from Roosevelt toward the Tennis side, if you see Citifield, that's the wrong direction! - walk on the boardwalk. Keep going straight until reach the circle with flag poles and 4 paths to choose from. Choose the 2nd to last path. (The last path takes you to the USTA). - Okay, pretty soon you'll reach a fork in the road. You want to take the left path, NOT the right path along the tennis stadium. - If you followed the directions correctly, you'll reach the Unisphere pretty soon. A bunch of skateboarders are also an indicator. Once you see the Unisphere, you want to go to the opposite end, left of the Queens Museum of Art. - See that glassy building? Yes! You found it..... and the shuttle just arrived... Cute cafeteria. Cozy theater, you can pretty see the stage from the last row. People's heads too (the incline is very slight).

Yelp
I really didn't need another reason to come to Flushing Meadow Park, it was a beautiful day to go out enjoy the weather. I received some tickets courtesy of Yelp to see Othello at the Queens Theater and it was my first time actually checking theater. I've been coming to the park itself for years I just never got around to visiting, well now I had a reason. The building itself is nice, well constructed, brightly lit, and clean. The ladies at the ticket booth were friendly and helpful. There was a open space with tables surrounded by huge windows where you could hang, have a drink or a quick bite. They did alchoholic beverages and snacks. They had a few restrictions about bringing beverages into the theater. You could bring drinks in but they had to be in a plastic cup. You were not allowed to bring in glass. We parked near the museum and walked over to get a quick glimpse of the globe and snap a few photos but there was plenty of parking right by the building and even a shuttle taking people to and from the train. We walked around to see some of the photos and historic memoribilia regarding the theater and the park. We stopped at the bathroom which was clean but the doors for the entrance to the bathroom and the door for the first bathroom stall collide easily and can result in someone getting hurt if opened simultaneously. They clearly didn't think that through when building the stalls. The performance was being held downstairs in a small room that held seating for about 50 people and there was another show being help upstairs in the main theater. The fact that it was such a small performance without a proper stage threw me off quite a bit. It's not what I was expecting. The seats were also rather uncomfortable, especially when expected to endure a 2 and half hour performance. I will say however the actresses did a phenomenal job of staying in character eventhough they didn't really have a proper stage. To them it was as if none of us existed and they never once took their eyes off the other performers to glance into the audience and I'd imagine that to be difficult to do in such a small room. When the show began and the lights began to chance it really was as if they just appeared out of no where. Their presence was very bold demanded attention. In addition to the prominent tones they kept the acoustics in the room carried the sound further and you could notice it especially when they began singing. Some of the actresses including Othello were properly dressed for the occasion but a few others just looked like they threw together some random garb together from their closets. One was wearing purple cheetah print leggings. Pretty sure they didn't have those in the Elizabethan era. They kept the speech in Old English. "I beseech you" was the phrase of the night. There was a joke here and there but I didn't catch onto them all. For someone not extrmely well versed in this type of literature I honestly had a difficult time keeping up but still tried to remain openminded nonetheless. Since it was an all female cast that put a bit of a twist of things and there was some girl on girl action and even violence but I was hoping that overall it would have been in a more modernized direction. The fact that there wasn't a set or props also took a bit away from the performance as well. I didn't really feel like I could get into it as much but that says nothing about the actresses because they really did command a great presence. The lights changed every so often and there was a momentary cue of music between some scenes whereas in others the actresses walked away and others appeared instantly. I give the Theater five stars and I give the play itself three stars so to keep it fair I will give an overall 4 star rating for the whole experience. I wonder how many stayed after intermission. We politely exited at that time but we were respectful enough to sit through the first half as was the rest of the audience.

Yelp
Queens Theatre is pretty nice for what it is. The AC in the concession stand area is frigid, the restrooms are probably the cleanest restrooms of all Flushing Meadow park restrooms, and the main stage theatre is pretty nice. The leg room between each aisle was surprisingly spacious. It's not a large theatre like Radio City Music Hall, it's a small cozy up close in your face theatre. I would assume every seat in the house has a decent view of the stage except for the first two rows. I got tickets to Gilbert & Sullivan in Briefs through Yelp and it was a fairly good show. To read more about it, you can read my review on the event. http://www.yelp.com/biz/yelp-night-at-gilbert-and-sullivan-in-briefs-queens#hrid:dsCd8FZiW21QIBmSXz7xFw

Yelp
Who knew such a beautiful theatre lay hidden in Flushing Meadows Park? I sure didnt. The theatre has been modernized and has a constant lineup of goodies to choose from. They have a shuttle on performance nights that make pickups every 20 minutes starting 1 hr before show time to make travel easier. The concession is super affordable too. Come early and have a snack before your show starts. The theatre itself is a great size. The seats are comfortable and have ample leg room. Any seat is a great seat as well! The staff are amazing; especially after an epic miscommunication- the manager made sure I was being taken care of and that my satisfaction be guaranteed. It makes me want to continue to support my local theatre!

Yelp
Queens Theatre feels underrated. While not as majestic as the venues in Manhattan or BAM in Brooklyn, the theatre provides a cozy, intimate vibe -- where every seat has a pretty good view. We have been here for 3 plays so far and 1 dance performance, we walked out all four times satisfied and impressed. The theatre is located within the Corona-Flushing Park, close to the Queens Museum. Coming to evening showtimes, parking is always easy. Although this place might be a bit hard to reach even with the said shuttle that picks and drop people off the 7 train station. The staff here are all nice and efficient, the concession stand offers refreshments at reasonable price. To all the Queens resident, come check it out! You got a gem in your backyard. 4.25 stars

Yelp
Go with confidence girl As highly recommended by a fellow Yelper Phil H. for "CHIX 6" I venture as the Power of One for a musical show. Chix 6 is a lively rock musical show empowering women's conquer of degradation by abusive men for realization of self-worth and inner strength. Set in 2011 era of digital age and usage of verbal colliqual language for an unparalleled performance by an all female leading role cast, complete with a four piece all-female rock band with all the components of a traditional musical play. The four piece all-female band all face the audience in full view above the stage. Chix 6 is originated by women producers, writers, and background vocals. I always sincerely enjoy live performances, be it open-mike poetry/music, drama, musical, or plays that upholds a solid definitive plot. Queens Theatre In The Park is very nice theater that contains extremely good acoustics, an equipped sound system, fully functioning video camera, wireless and discreet portable microphones, strobe lighting without blinding the audience and smoke effects. Seats are comfortable with ample leg room and no specific assigned seat number but ticket status (orchestra, left, right) determines seating section. Stage crew and A/V Dept. did a great job with coordination for a well put musical production play. Circular building of a modern look with facilities that are clean for a inviting atmosphere without the foul stench. N.B. This theater is extremely difficult to locate as the paths in Flushing Meadows Corona Park do not mark directional arrows. It is located past Flushing's renowned unisphere. Behind this building is the iconic Flushing Meadows Corona Park's observatory towers which was used in scenes for "Men In Black I," I concur with Phil H. which gives the theater a cool view and fantastic radiant glow at night. Lobby area contains glass windows for natural light to flow through for enhancing the modern look. Queens Theatre is sponsored by Delta Air Lines. "There's only one place I can't hurt and only one can make me happy that's myself and no one else. And everyday I get a little stronger!! Oh, it took me long to learn... " Chix 6 So go with confidence GIRL!!

Yelp
Last night was my first time (wait, what?) at Queens Theatre. I have a huge appreciation for theatres. I spent many a time performing when I was younger. This could be why I judge every little detail when I visit a new one. I was warned in advance that Queens Theatre is difficult to get to but I'm sorry, I disagree. Northern State to GCP to exit 9P. This is not at all difficult. Follow the signs once you're in the park and bam! You're at the theatre. I really enjoyed the fact that the location is directly underneath the "flying saucers". The inside is beautiful! Well-lit but not to the point your eyes begin to hurt. I did not get to see the actual "theatre" but I did see the downstairs where they host dress rehearsals. Very small and intimate, which I like. Oh, and sorry that the trashcan in one of the potty stalls went flying. Yeah....

Yelp
Cute theater in the park, came here the first time last night for a yelp event and really enjoyed the show. Shuttle bus is available to pick you up from the station (7 train Mets - Willets Point) to the theater before and after the performance, the driver's really nice and fun to talk with.

Yelp
As the woman next to me got quieter and quieter, I wondered if she thought she had inadvertently gotten into the Creedmoor patient transport. I finally asked her, "Are you Yelp?". No, she fired back. Well that explained why she wasn't participating in the very animated Yelp banter and gossip perpetrated by a van load of giddy, cackling Yelpers. I told her we were Yelp and with a smile, she said," I figured that!" Yelp, lady, yelp and you'll be laughing like we were. And no fellow readers, alcohol was not served. This little shuttle deserves a shout out of its own. A complimentary service provided by the Queens Theatre, this shuttle operates one hour prior to and after a show, and runs every 10 minutes. You pick it up as you exit from the Mets-Willets Station on the 7 line. The sign is clearly marked. It's a short ride, and not rickety at all, as one Yelper who reviewed the theater mentioned. Perhaps we had a good van that night and they vary. The van is clean, way more comfy than the Mitsuwa vans that make me feel as if my bum is skating asphalt. No it's not limo service, but I have lived long enough in this city to be leery of traversing parks at the night and the shuttle does the job. It's great for folks like me who don't own a car and don't want to take the bus which makes you walk partway anyway, or if you don't want to bother your friends for a lift. The driver was polite and seemed amused by the lively crowd. He said he usually didn't get so many passengers. On the night a bunch of Yelpers were being treated to Murder For Two, I got to meet Kathy X., Kevin and friend, newbies Devon and Jan and hear a few others in the back. Of course the gregarious Gerardo A. was there, good naturedly taking some teasing. And of course on days when the van is transporting animated Yelpers, the van gets five stars. Yelpers, don't be afraid to take this van so you can see some of the shows at the Queens Theatre-- gas prices won't be low forever!

Yelp
We checked out a preview performance of "You Say Tomato and I say Shut up" (thanks for the tickets Yelp!) (Oh and the performance was excellent). Its a bit tricky to find, but they do provide a parking lot attendant so you don't mind leaving your car in the middle of a park at night. The waiting area / cafe space is very nice. A few snack items & drinks to get before the show (don't be that person that leaves and gets something during the performance, thanks). The theater is nice a big with plenty of leg room. Comfortable seating as well. We will definitely be checking out the performance schedule and going back soon.

Yelp
Queens Theatre is a wonderful theatre and I'm glad I was able to come see a show here with the Yelp Elite group. While I really enjoyed the show and felt that most of the staff were very pleasant and helpful, my interaction with one of the ushers was extremely unprofessional and marred the experience. The theatre is beautiful, well-maintained and modern and is most definitely underrated among the theaters in NYC. The facilities like the waiting lobby, the bathrooms and the concession stands were clean and updated. Most of the theater workers, from the shuttle driver to the ticket taker and concession stand attendants, were very warm, considerate and efficient. In fact - the shuttle driver even pulled over the shuttle when he saw someone running and thought they might have been running for the shuttle. The acoustics in the theater itself are wonderful and it was easy to hear all the actors' lines and sound effects. However, when my plus one and I found our seats as printed on our tickets and sat down, an older woman with dark-rimmed glasses and short white hair started loudly berating us about how "these seats are reserved for people" and "how she already told us we couldn't sit there". We had just entered the seating area a few moments ago and had never seen the woman before. When we showed her our tickets and confirmed we did indeed have the correct seat, she barely apologized and walked away. I understand that there may be a lot of other people in the theater that night, but I feel that this was unprofessional, harsh, and unbecoming. Even if we were those patrons she mentioned, it would not be the mature way to have addressed the issue. To be fair, besides that interaction, I really enjoyed the rest of my experience at the Queens Theatre and felt that the everyone else were very kind and inviting. The shows in the line-up looked great and I would hope to return.

Yelp
perks about this place? Various shows for all ages, any seat in the theatre has a great view, plenty of FREE parking, the drinks are very reasonably priced! Beers are about $5, but the snacks are over priced. However, the show i attended here was fun and entertaining for sure, especially since 2 people were the only performers the whole time. What talent!! I would deff attend another event here since i never get to do anything like this.

Yelp
Very cute and small theater in the middle of the park. It's super convenient to get to. For matinee shows, it would be nice to walk to the theater. But we came for an 8PM show, so we took the shuttle from the Mets subway station to the theater. The shuttle starts running one hour before shows. It also runs after shows. Very convenient. The theater itself is very old-timey, while the building is very contemporary. Because it was so small, all seats are orchestra seats pretty much. We were seeing a play and it was not only a great production but the seats were comfortable and the two hours passed so quickly. Big fan!

Yelp
The Queens theatre is pretty darn nice. I had a fantastic experience here seeing "The cottage" last week compliments of the lovely people at Yelp for hooking us up with the tickets! The venue is pretty small but it makes you feel instantly comfortable since you can walk around and get some things from the snack bar while you wait for your show to start. The place is very clean and the theatre seating itself is pretty spacious and organized. As for the show, it was hilarious! The setting was in the 1920's and the set was this little country cottage. The actors were all really good and their expressions made us a laugh out loud quite a few times during the night. I won't ruin the plot for anyone who wants to see it but it's definitely worth seeing since there are things that you won't expect. I also expected it to be more of a drama then it turned out to be. Go there for a light and fun evening and expect to be entertained. I'm sure many of the other productions that go on here are enjoyable as well and I'm really happy I got to see a show here. More people need to take a chance and go see plays because you will be in for a fun surprise when they turn out to be great! I'll be coming to the queens theatre again really soon.

Yelp
A cute stadium seat theatre where every seat seems to have a good view. The play was so so, but the venue was surprising, since this is located in the abandoned former space of the Worlds Fair.. ( milleniums, look that up). They have a lobby with a pretty bar and the restrooms were clean. Plenty of free parking. I hope there are more shows and plays here, since this is pretty accessible and a nice space.

Yelp
Sometime in the near future, I'm going to throw a party here. And even sooner than that I'll be back to see a show. I haven't been to Flushing Meadow Park since "Men in Black" came out and I had to see for myself that those weren't flying saucers....But never did I notice a theatre! The rotunda of a reception area offers floor to ceiling vies of the park. It's modern, soft-toned lights give the theatre a nice into. The main stage area is large enough and small enough for each seat to be equally fantastic. We got a glimpse of a new show rehearsing...a great alternative for those of us strapped for cash but want to enjoy a bit of broadway. Downstairs is the studio theatre, which is small and dark, but sufficient for a small showing. We watched a hilarious tribute to the Financial Crisis called, "Spent." I highly recommend this show to all New Yorkers...all Americans....ah hell, the whole world is in a financial meltdown! Completely worth the few bucks you've got left in your pocket!

Yelp
Had a great time taking my son to see 'A Christmas Carol'. Lively, talented cast! Delightful production! No 'humbugs' from me! A hidden gem if all their shows are as good. I intend to check it out again! Easy to get to and easy parking. (The train will get you there, too.)And a LivingSocial discount was much appreciated by my finances. Got me in the holiday mood! So, check it out!

Yelp
Queens Theatre includes an intimate setting with 464 seats in its main stage, an 80-seat black box space and a 75-chair cabaret. The theater presents about 300 performances a year -- from dances to concert to theater -- to an estimated 100,000 individuals. In addition, local arts organizations rent the site for exhibits. About 75 percent of patrons are from Queens, and the borough's diversity is reflected in its programming. The Latino Cultural Festival and the Asian Cultural Fest take place there, as does The Afro-Semitic Experience, a musical show highlighting the African-American and Jewish-American musical heritages. The venue sits next to the New York State Pavilion, an extremely popular exhibit during the 1964 World's Fair with three tall towers, a 26-foot scale replica of the St. Lawrence hydroelectric plant, art from local museums, and Texaco Company's map of New York State. The map had 567 terrazzo mosaic panels, each weighing 400 pounds. As it is currently not in use, a group called Save the NYS Pavilion and the borough president are fighting to make it a landmark and prevent it from demolition.

Yelp
I want to love this place! I want this to be my special Queens go-to for some awesome nearby productions of traditional and alternative dance, musical, music, theater, musical theater, whatever. What a locations! What a view! Historic! Near perfect! However, as with most city owned and operated venues it just lacks the polish to not be distractingly cheap, low budget and amateur. Peeling laminates and paint, dirty carpets, not to mention a shortage of theatrical lighting fixtures for the stage and incorrect lenses... these are the basics! They literally changed out gels on the stage right and left Lekos in between numbers, in front of the entire theater's audience. Just silly. With a little funding this could become a gem in Queens with some serious notoriety. I will come back but I may skip the blazer.

Yelp
I have only recently discovered Queens Theatre in the Park in the last few years, but I really like the venue. They underwent a pretty major renovation of the exterior - it's now a curvy glass structure that's modern, yet still inviting. The Main Stage is a large auditorium that seats over 450 people, while the Studio Theatre is an intimate black box space downstairs. Part of the new renovation was also the creation of a Cabaret space, which I haven't seen. What I like most about this theater is the dedication to multi-cultural programming. They have a variety of events (concerts, plays, etc.) all meant to reflect the diversity of Queens, and by extension, NYC. They host an annual Asian Cultural Fest every Spring, and I've attended events at the last two. Another noteworthy program is their New Play Development, which is partly geared towards telling immigrant and minority stories. They also have programming that's family friendly. There is clearly a genuine effort to be a theater that's accessible and relevant to the greater community. It's definitely worth the trek to Queens to check out the events here. Plus, you can make a day of it and spend a beautiful day in the park! Oh, and did I mention the free parking?

Yelp
we came here tonight for another Yelp event, and I got to see a bit more of the theater, as well as learn a bit more about what they have here. I'm very glad to see that this theater is growing in popularity, expanding both the quantity and variety of shows put on here. there's a smaller stage downstairs, where we saw SPENT. it's a small "black box" stage (as it's called in theater terms), with seats for around 80 people (if anyone remembers the UCB Theater from about ten years ago, it resembles that). sound and lighting is minimal but still set up well. this is a great performance area for small shows or presentations. there's also "The Cabaret Room" which is a lounge-type room with a bar and seating! as always, I definitely enjoy seeing shows here at this theater. Ed and John, two of the staff/managers that work here, are great people and do a great job. they mingle with the attendees before and after shows, arrange quick tours of the theater, and get the actors to mingle with the attendees as well. the Queens Theatre rocks!

Yelp
Thanks to Yelp, I found myself at this fantastic theater to watch the new Lourds Lane rock musical, Chix 6! Located in the Flushing Meadows Corona Park, by the sphere, is this little gem. You can walk from the Mets/Willets Point station (7 train) or take the free shuttle that runs from the station to the theater, one hour prior to curtain call. So you really have no excuse not to go! The lobby is spacious, clean and the concession stand consists of mainly candies and beverages. At $1, what a bargain! You probably want to eat before you come see a show here, though. The theater itself is small but lovely. The seats are comfortable with plenty of leg space. As it's small, there is no bad seat in the house and it definitely gives off an intimate vibe. Bathrooms are clean, always a plus. I'd happily trek to this side of Queens to watch another show!

Yelp
Queens Theatre is a place I definitely hope to come back to again. Last year, got to see SPENT with the Yelp crew and loved every minute of the show. Seriously, was an excellent two person play that really delivered. Mostly funny but informative and entertaining as well. The stage was really small and did not hold that many but we as a group packed it in. Not that hard to get here either, luckily there was a shuttle van that night to take people back and forth but I have walked this way before and was not too bad of a walk at least when the weather is nice.

Yelp
I been here for two different performances and both have been great. The theatre is very clean and everyone that works there its super nice. Its great to be able to see a show without having to go into Manhattan.

Yelp
Came here to see "The Queen Bees". It was a yelp elite event that brought me here. I never knew Queens had a theater until that day. It's a fairly decent sized theater and you can purchase small bites and sandwiches to eat. The architecture of the building is unique. You would have never suspected such a building to exist in the park. The building is located right beneath the ruins in the park (the tall circular building that looks like a huge torturing device). Parking was free. The show was enjoyable. Definitely well done for their budget range. I don't know the details but in comparison to Broadway shows who presumable have a lot more funding, this was well done. The performance was not sold out but a lot of people were there. Only thing I didn't like about the show was the transition to the song " ". I think they could have made that transition a lot smoother. It really felt out of place. A subtle critique is that sometimes when the singers sing really loud in the higher octaves, the voice sounded a little "tinny". However, I do understand it can be difficult to preserve the tune quality in that regards. Overall, it was a great performance. Story line was good. I would recommend it to others.

Yelp
We attended the fabulous performance of Moliere's Tartuffe at this beautiful theater and had a great evening ! The acting was spectacular, the theater beautifully appointed and stage sets lovely, and there were no more than 2 rows of seats between you and the stage, so no need for hearing devices for those who need them. When it comes to operas and plays, we generally don't appreciate the "updating" that some directors feel they need to do, but this was an exception. The wonderfully imaginative costumes had the feel of 17th century dress but with a super-modern twist that made the best of both old and modern sensibilities. The lovely lobby space had a gracious feel and nice selection of drinks (soft and alcoholic both) and snacks. Best of all, it was near home and unbelievably inexpensive. I'm dumping my Manhattan haunts for this at every opportunity from now on.

Yelp
came here for a Yelp Elite event, and had no idea this place even existed! Some New yorker I am. I love the modern decor and the layout. The large open space upstairs is great for entertaining large groups and for having some cocktails pre and post show. The theater in the basement is on the small side, holding approximately 80 people. It really is a great place to see some up and coming performers.. Located conveniently to both mass transit as well as car transportation. (Exit 9P on the GCP)

Yelp
I came here to watch the wrestling show with my friends. It's a small, cute theater with very well organized staff. Any seats are good as I already mentioned it is a small venue.

Jaime B.

Yelp
The husband and I came here for a Yelp event (to see the Golden Dragon Acrobats show, which was itself fantastic). I've seen pictures of this theater from the outside, so it was nice to see it in person. It's a really pretty theater, tucked away in Flushing Meadows Corona Park. There are tons of glass windows in the lobby area, where you can get a drink and snack before the show and take in the beautiful park in air-conditioned comfort. And the lobby has rainbow lighting. You can imagine just how beautiful this is at night. The theater itself is one of those intimate settings, where no seat is a bad seat. The seats are comfortable. The staff are so pleasant. The whole experience was great. I'm glad to know this theater is here. I definitely want to come back for other performances. And there's tons to check out in the area, so you can really make a day of it.

Yan T.

Yelp
Nice venue with an old-timey crescent-shaped stage. Thanks to Jando I saw the Golden Dragon Acrobats here, with the intimate feel of sitting 2 rows back. They need to get the word out to get more folks to this rather obscure location, but I'll keep an eye out. And the severely underrated Corona Park is right there, Unisphere and all.
