Attended a business event and I must say, from the attentive and gracious service of the waitstaff, to the meticulously presented courses, dietary flexibility and preparedness to an ambiance and decor that was dripping in elegance; there is no wonder why the Rainbow Room is legendary. The catered food in itself was very well presented, temperature spot on with attention to detail and utterly delicious. Execution is top of the class flawless. Certainly a renowned powerhouse in all regards and a must at least once in your lifetime.

The Rainbow Room is elegant and iconic. We had an amazing time photographing a wedding here this past year - especially for the couple's first look that took place overlooking the entire city! It is a classic NYC experience that was enjoyed by everyone. We cannot wait to photograph another event here.

It is not often that you can visit an iconic venue like the Rainbow Room for a good cause. The service begins as you take the escalator to the elevator. Staff are allows available making your travels smooth and effortless. My compliments to all the servers. The cocktail hour and dinner for my event was excellent. I always enjoy the views of NYC from as high as the 65th floor.

The Dining Club at the Rainbow Room is a private club with great service and exceptional views of the city. This place offers breakfast, brunch and lunch. A perfect place for business and semi-formal social events. Food wise, it has some descent and refreshing appetizers and entrees. Although the menu could benefit from some periodic and seasonal updates. Some of the menu items, such as miso cod for example, has remained on the menu since the inception of this place. Overall, it's a great experience eating here. The service is always professional and courteous.

The balcony is the most impressive area, best view for all of manhattan. The actual room was really nice and very nice. The food menu could have been more diverse but it was still nice.

The Rainbow room is a storied event venue on the 67th floor of the Rockefeller tower. Very elegant and nighttime views are fabulous. As one would guess, the catering staff are pleasant and professional. The food is outstanding, including the best Beef Wellington I've ever tasted. My wife and I were there for a birthday party and danced to the wee hours. If you get invited...go! If you can afford to put on an event there, you will be happy you selected the Rainbow Room.

Great burgers and cocktails. We had a great time in the Rainbow Room. Instead of buying the tickets for the observation deck, you can just go to the bar, enjoy the panorama and a drink. Make sure you make a reservation in time.

Well. As a person who grew up on the east coast, I've long known about the famous Rainbow Room at the top of the NBC/Rockefeller Center building in New York City. It's historic. It's legendary. I never expected to get to see it, but then my cousin and his wife chose this venue for their spectacular wedding reception. First - think black tie, think elegant, think beautiful, think "this room has totally been in movies." Second - the view. This building has the most spectacular views of the New York skyline, especially the Empire State Building. You can see the Statue of Liberty and beyond if the weather is good. Third - the food. This was a wedding where I literally wanted to eat anything I could and there was SO much good food. I particularly loved the baby lobster rolls served during the cocktail hour. My cousin chose beef wellington and sea bass as their entree choices, and both were spectacular. I had the Wellington and it was melt in your mouth perfect. Fourth - the staff. Talk about 5 star, A+ all the way service, this is it. Obviously a venue of this caliber is going to have a great staff. But we never wanted for anything. I had about two sips of champagne left and my glass was refilled. I never saw an empty glass. Napkins were folded and placed when someone got up. I also want to give a very special shout out to all of the staff, who so very kindly helped us get my aunt who is disabled upstairs, in place and situated. They were extra accommodating and extremely attentive, telling us things like there was another bathroom that would not require my aunt to climb any stairs. This was the swankiest, most beautiful wedding reception I have ever attended. Beautiful start to finish. If you can afford it, it would be an absolutely spectacular place for a special event. I am just feeling very fortunate that I got to experience it.

At the top of the NBC building is the Rainbow Room, a restaurant with a glittering view of NYC. It's only opened for events these days, but the space is gorgeous. It's been a minute since I last ate here, but I was remembering my last visit this evening and what a shame it's no longer opened the general public. The food was fantastic, though I swear you can feel a slight sway in the building that can lend itself to the faintest feeling of vertigo. Hopefully, they will reopen it one day.

One of the most elegant top-of-the-building bar-and-restaurants in all Manhattan, if not the best. The views are absolutely breathtaking, as are the prices. For your most special occasion, celebration, marriage proposal, or for hosting your $25,000/plate fundraiser. The main dining room (ballroom?) Is exquisite. Memories of brunches and buffets, and tuxedoed dinners with speakers and programs, and of course, live music. True to Manhattan luxury cocktail pricing, ours were $60 each. The barman giggled as I handed him a hundred for our four. That's $250 please. Wow. Where else, but the rainbow room! Ah but the views! No dress code, so you might feel a bit overdressed among the throngs of tourists. Signage abounds from street level Rockefeller center corridors and doorways. First timers will eventually find their way to the line for the express elevator.

5 stars at all levels at anytime of the year. Food, Drinks, Hospitality, Ambiance, View. I recommend the visitors - if it is not 5 Stars in your view than either you and your F & F fucked it up OR you are crazy.

I used to love this place, but now it's only open for private events, you can't go there for drinks or a meal or anything unless you're attending a private party!

I was here recently for an event, and the space is absolutely gorgeous. When i think of Rainbow Room, I think of decadent brunch buffets and one of the first places Anthony Bourdain got his start. It's really large, super open with windows, insane 360degree views of the city, and stunning interior design. I'm sure this venue is $$$$, but totally worth it if you're wanting to celebrate something really special and decadent. This space can also be occupied by hundreds (if not potentially a thousand) guests. If you're venue hunting and have some cash to spend, definitely consider Rainbow Room.

This review is going waaaaaaaay back but I came across some matches that reminded me of my time here. As you can tell by the matches, this is when Cipriani held the reigns, and I know a lot has changed since-not necessarily for the best-but during my visit, it was still considered a luxury landmark. I remember we sat at the bar, and the views of the Empire State Building were remarkable so high up. I honestly don't recall too much since this was such a long time ago, but it was a wonderful, last-minute drive up to New York City, my first time at The Rainbow Room, and things couldn't have been better. I don't believe I've had another great spontaneous night since. Seeing this place reopened (but not quite what it was), I'm glad others can enjoy it once again, but I'm remembering it as I saw it in memory.

I came here for a special event put on by my firm. The space is elegant and upscale without feeling stuffy. We rented out almost the entire space, so we spent time in a big ballroom and another long room that faced south that had a nice bar and was a bit more intimate. It was nice to have a boisterous space with loud conversations as well as a room where you could have more relaxed conversations by the bar. The views were fantastic all around. We were there at night so, the Midtown sky was lit up and it felt that much more special. The staff was also very good, friendly and helpful in pointing us to bathrooms and elevators, etc. The food was banquet style, but was delicious. We had steak, fish and some really great side dishes. The bartenders were also very good at making cocktails, too.

The Rainbow Room is an elegant yet classic venue with a striking view of NYC. This is the ultimate NYC experience that one cannot miss. I love love this place. During my visit, I only ordered drinks (normal NYC prices) and some finger foods and it was great. Definitely recommend this place for those visiting NYC...you won't regret it!

Popped in here for a speaker event + wine tasting. The small first room was a long thin room facing the East, with a view of the MetLife building and the river, where you could view the city. Passed appetizers were so-so (chicken skewers w/ peanut sauce, cheese pastries (cold), and some mini mushrooms on a crispy chip), except with one item: the beef Wellington was amazing. That's worth coming back for. Popped into the ballroom which had tables set up for 10, a small stage up in front of the kitchen entry, and lots of crystals around the chandeliers and the top of the windows giving the place a bit of glitz. The service was generally good, though every once in a while they'd forget something or someone; it was busy and they often didn't look back at the table once they delivered a set of items over (so a few people missed getting tea or drinks periodically). Crab cake to start was ok, but I've had better with more meat and less filler. The 1934 Rainbow Room Filet Mignon Marechale wtih young asparagus, mushrooms, pommes mousseline, truffle brioche crumb and red wind jus was excellent, juicy and a reasonable portion. Done very well. The chocolate cake at the end was so-so. We had wine from an outside source, so I don't include that here, but overall the experience was good, I'll come here to try select items (they do beef well), and enjoy the views.

I came to this exquisite bar with a group of friends a few weeks ago. We had reservations, but it took awhile for the staff to seat us - About an hour. We passed the time by basking in the glorious Midtown view from the 65th-floor outdoor patio and taking picturesque photographs as the sun was setting. We were even served complimentary champagne and allowed to sit in Bar SixtyFive, as a way to apologize for the long wait. Finally, we were taken inside, which was also Rosé Bar Pop-Up when we were there. The interior of the place was elegant and sexy, with white tablecloths, orange flower display at the center of the table, and more amazing views, including the Empire State Building. Even though I don't drink, I already knew what I wanted to try. I ordered the Champagne Donut Bouquet, which came with 3 sugar glazed donuts topped with Champagne icing and gold dust, along with pale pink cotton candy placed in the middle of the donuts and rosé sorbet. This dessert was plated beautifully and I absolutely LOVED all the pink! The donuts were perfectly moist, slightly sweet, and that icing was amazing - I could definitely taste the Champagne flavor and the gold dust was a fancy touch. The sorbet was yummy with a very delicate, unique taste. My friends and I decided to share the Cheese Platter, Meat Platter, and Pigs in A Blanket. The Cheese Platter had 5 different types of cheeses - mainly the soft cheeses with mold, which isn't my preference. I preferred the white cheddar. There were also green grapes, roasted walnuts, guava pieces, honey from the comb, bread, and thin crackers. It was a lovely smorgasbord and everything mingled together well. I enjoyed the thin crackers with cheese, as well as the guava which was quite syrupy sweet. The Meat Platter was just okay. There were approximately 6 different types of cured meats. This also came with toasted bread, pickles and a mystery mustard-y sauce. My favorite meat was the salami and thankfully there were several different kinds on the board. The flavor of the meats was definitely enhanced by the cheese. Pigs in A Blanket appetizer was pretty good. The outer crust was incredibly flaky and the hot dog was juicy, full of flavor. I also got to try the rack of lamb that my friend ordered, which was delicious! It was delightfully seasoned and very tender. For her birthday, my friend was served a chocolate cake in thin rectangular form with milk chocolate and white chocolate triangles on top. The cake was plated prettily on white and Happy Birthday was written in chocolate. It was wonderful... Rich with intense chocolate flavor, creamy and thoroughly delectable. I wish I had taken a bigger bite! The service started off a bit shaky. The waitress kept walking by but didn't stop to take our orders at first and then would disappear for awhile. Also, water wasn't given out automatically. I had to ask for it several times until she finally appeared with my request and she didn't even bring enough for everyone at the table. After a short moment, she came with the remaining water - which was not even iced like the others. Later on, she was more friendly and accommodating. We also met Jeremiah who I believe was a manager and he went above and beyond. He checked up on us to make sure we were taken care of and even let my friend take the plate that the cake was served on, home. Then, he showed us the Rainbow Room private event space, which was gorgeous with sparkly chandeliers everywhere. It was such a classy and memorable night out!

This review is on the Sunday brunch buffet that they used to have (not the new a la carte menu complemented by various chef stations). Imagine a brunch buffet on the 65th floor overlooking NYC. I made a reservation a month in advance and asked for the table with the best view. They certainly honored that request, we're seated at a table by the windows, overlooking the Central Park area. There were so many people who stopped by our table to take selfies and group pictures by the windows, some of them almost knocked the ice bucket with stand (with my wine bottle in it) over. The dining hall is not too big but the decor is very elegant. The room is wrapped around by windows, and it has a chandelier in the middle. You would feel like you are in a gala. The brunch is buffet style. They have different stations: American - chicken pot pie, doughnuts, French toast, bacon, poached eggs with your chosen toppings (no shaved truffles that day) Asian - dim sum, sushi, curry and rice. Ham and cheese - various types of prosciutto and cheese. Seafood - boiled lobsters and crab legs, various types of raw oysters and clams. The lobsters disappear at a rapid speed as soon as they come out. Carving station - with different cuts of meats. Desserts station - ice cream, pastries, different sweets and treats. There's also live entertainment with a live band and a singer serenading guests from the 2nd floor balcony. We had a great time brunching for 3 hours, the bill came out to be $600+ for 3 people (with wine), but l would do it again in a heartbeat when there's a special occasion to celebrate. I heard that they have modified their Sunday brunch, I would have to look into it to see what changes they have implemented. Overall, the food was not too pleasing but there were so many options. The live entertainment was great and the service was attentive. The dining room is beautiful and the view is spectacular. I thoroughly enjoyed the 3 hours brunching with my mom and sister.

Went here for drinks and the view in a nice bright sunny day. Defn make a reservation beforehand ..it's simple . Asked for a window table and a view of Central Park and they accommodated my request ! Absolutely stunning views Drinks were ok. Nothing special. My husband asked for one of the drinks he really wanted to try, but they said they didn't have it . Not sure why not...didn't make sense but whatever . Drinks are pricey and just mediocre. You're paying for the view ...drinks are whatever. You can also go outside and take in the view . It's absolutely beautiful. Wish they would let you do the same on the central park side. The staff downstairs by the elevators are stupidly rude..not sure why...

10 stars for the beautiful space. I came here for a holiday party, and loved the venue. When you walk in from the street, you follow the red carpet and up the stairs, whereby you check in your coat (more on the coat-check later) and take the elevator up to the 64th floor. From the rainbow room, you have such a stunning view of manhattan and all of its twinkling lights. The windows are decorated with crystals and in the middle of the room, which also serves as a dance floor, is a grandiose chandelier that sparkled all night. The bartenders were super efficient and friendly, despite the high demand all night from hundreds of us. The food was good - though I don't know how it compares to its regular menu. Among the food offerings, my favorites were a deconstructed grilled cheese with a dash of truffle oil, salmon tartare with a subtle sesame oil roasted flavor, as well as a pillowy and nutty butternut squash ravioli. But I had to dock one star as the coat check was an absolute mess, and it took us more than 30 minutes to get my coat.

RUN. I usually give places the benefit of the doubt, but the Rainbow Room was such an awful experience from start to finish that I had to share. Mother's day brunch reservation for 2:15pm was made a month in advance (April 16), confirmed via email that we would eat in the "rainbow room." Entire cost of the brunch was $161.10 per person, paid in advance, no refunds. ----- THE WAITING ----- - Our family STOOD FOR OVER AN HOUR in a CROWDED room with over 50 people, waiting for a table. NO COVID safety/social distancing was enforced. - My elderly mom has bad legs, but there were only about 5 chairs in the entire waiting space. She managed to find a seat after standing for the majority of the hour. - The process was mayhem. There was no time limit for dining, so it was VASTLY OVERBOOKED and reservations were running late. They said they would "call you" if your table opened up, but it was so crowded that it was impossible to hear if your time was called unless you were near the hostess. - After the hostess called our reservation time, we went up the elevator only to wait in a SECOND LINE for an ADDITIONAL 30 minutes right outside the restaurant. Everyone was starving and luckily there were some desserts that folks were able to scavenge and eat near the elevators. - After 1.5 hours of waiting, we didn't even get seated in the RAINBOW ROOM; instead we were given Bar SixtyFive. The Rainbow Room would've required an additional wait (for an unknown amount of time), and after waiting 1.5 hours for a late BRUNCH RESERVATION, we were fed up and decided to take the table. We were so upset by the long wait that we expected at least a good service. Sadly this couldn't have been further from the truth. ----- THE SERVICE ----- - The meal was family-style, but they gave us NO SERVING UTENSILS. Even before the pandemic, you wouldn't scoop a shared chicken pot pie with your own personally used utensils. We had to ask for serving utensils for each course. - The waiter would take our used utensils but not give us new ones, so sometimes it would be impossible to eat unless we hailed down someone. - Waiter barely came to check on us, so we needed to ask service from others. - Waiter never let us know that we could order coffee/tea with our dessert. We had to request it ourselves after seeing/smelling it at the other tables. - To-go boxes did not have matching lids, so we needed to request for rubber bands to make sure the containers would stay somewhat closed. ----- THE FOOD ----- It was average. I usually don't expect much from touristy places that pride themselves on the view. ----- THE GOOD ----- - Complimentary small bouquets of flowers in paper bags were offered - Complimentary champagne was served (upon request) for a few waiting outside the restaurant - Small desserts can be taken home (or in our case, eaten before the meal) We really wanted to love the Rainbow Room. We were having a joint engagement and Mother's day celebration with both sets of parents, eating together at a restaurant for the first time since the pandemic. My parents drove 2 hours just for this occasion, and we arrived at the Rainbow Room 15 minutes early to check in. If we were seated on time, we even would've been able to catch the view before it rained. It was so surprising that a renowned establishment would make these seemingly obvious management errors. I would have felt better about the experience if any of these were the case: - Established time limit for dining - Offer refunds, especially for terrible experience - Offer seats for long waits, especially for elderly parents on Mother's Day - Provide snacks/champagne/water for waiting guests without request - Enforce social distancing and keeping others from cutting the line - Attentive waiter and/or good service

What an amazing experience Had two glasses of the Malbec it was delicious Had a chicken course and the salmon Simple and tasty Deserts are delicious I'd skip on the flaming chocolate cake unless your there at night But the Pena Cot-a is delicious The views are magnificent, I will definitely come back with family . You need to make a reservation way in advance but call in many times you get lucky and someone cancels . Enjoy

Views are stellar atop 30 Rock at the Rainbow Room! It's not going to be 360-degree views, but one side offers beautiful city views and remember that you're not that high on the 65th floor. I was here for a private event and enjoyed the space, the views, the food and the prosecco! I can't comment on the regular menu served here, but the items offered at the carving station were excellent. Staff and servers were friendly and attentive. Good for a special occasion or casual drinks. If you don't want to spend the big bucks to eat up here, you can pop up for a drink.

Rainbow Room you are most certainly remarkable, I had an incredible experience here today. I can see the charm and the reason that so many like Rainbow Room. Every thing was fresh and tasted amazing. The staff are extremely attentive and nice and they're great at giving recommendations. I'm glad these guys are here.

You come here for the view, so pick a good time to go. I'd recommend around sunset on a clear day! Food [4/5] - A wide selection of fine dining French/New American food. My mom and I thoroughly enjoyed everything from the cocktails and appetizers to entrees and dessert. One thing that stood out to me was the beef tartar appetizer, so definitely give that a go. Service [4/5] - Very solid service; the staff were all professional and kind. They don't quite dote on you, but still a great experience. Ambiance [5/5] - You're 65 floors off the ground in the heart of Midtown; the view is going to be incredible. As I mentioned, try to go on a clear day where you can see far and wide. If you're lucky, they'll open the terrace at around sunset ;) Value [3/5] - Definitely on the pricey side, and although the food is very respectable and tasty, there are definitely higher quality restaurants on the basis of food for around the same price. Come here if you don't mind spending $100+ for a good meal.

The ambience and the astonishing view from the 65th floor of 30 Rock is well worth the trip and the price you pay for it, especially if you're on vacation in NYC. Beware that they are sticklers for the business casual dress code, as they will not even let you up the elevator if you are not properly attired. But that is good. It adds to the ambience once upstairs as everyone is dressed nicely, so it makes it feel classier. The service is polite, friendly, helpful and attentive. The views of the city and the river and Central Park are gorgeous and worth paying $25 for a cocktail. The best time to go is at dusk to see the gorgeous sunset or at night to see NYC lit up. We were there when the Rose Pop-up Bar was there and were seated on the side where the Empire State Building was in full view. And yes, we had reservations for a party of 6. I shared the Clash of the Titans Burger ($65) with a friend. It was titanic, but oh so delicious. A toasted, soft brioche bun filled with a hamburger patty topped with cheese, smoked bacon, short ribs (tender and flavorful) and crowned with a lobster tail. It was oh so good! And it was served with a side of truffle fries. (Also delicious!). I'd order it again (and split it was someone). Going to the Rainbow Room is definitely a must do if you're on vacation in NYC!

This was my first time here and it was just superb. As for the food, everything I ordered was excellent and the service was top notch. They provided a complimentary pea soup shot, which was a nice way to start off the meal. I had the Branzino which was cooked how I like it, with the perfectly seasoned and crispy skin and delicate meat. For dessert I had their version of the Baked Alaska (pictured here)! It was definitely a decadent dessert which could be shared. I walked away full and happy. Oh, and the view was stunning. I would go again for drinks at night and on a clearer day. Ok, so it helped that someone else was treating. So, it's easy for me to give The Rainbow Room five stars but from a purely overall experience, I think it deserves five stars. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

I came with a few friends to grab a drink and see the sunset from the roof top. Sometimes they do not let you go in if you don't meet the dress code which is business casual. 20 dollar is not cheap but it is worth it if you chat and enjoy the view for a few hours. You can see the central park from here too. The drinks here are actually pretty good. I got a spatini which is a bit strong but refreshing too with the cucumber and lime. The diablo (demon in French) just resembles the name, really strong flavors yet very interesting. Mama rose is the safe option for those dont like drinking too much as well. It is more sweet and light. You do have to stand for the whole time unless you reserve for a table though.

So I made reservations months in advance for my parents anniversary requesting a specific table. We got there early & they gave us a different table. We asked for the original table but they said it was reserved for a larger party. The table say empty for most of our dinner but they ended up seating smaller parties. The food selection is extremely limited, potions are super small and the food & service was below average. Not to mention the food was overpriced. We spent about $870 without alchohol & were still hungry after ‍

Been to the rainbow brunch a few times before they reduced the buffet variety by half and increased the price from $95 to $125 per person. The entrees were memorable-less. I was totally disappointed by the food. An obvious downsize that even a kid can tell the difference and challenge his dad. No more macaroons, which are replaced by Walmart square shaped cake with kindergarten level decoration. No more iberico ham, which is replaced by a bacon station. Seriously? $125 per person for a dog food bacon stand is pretty shocking. The funny thing was that someone on duty was cutting the bacon as if it were prime ribs. I thought a ham station was pretty bad. A bacon station was beyond creative. I was even looking around to see if there were hidden cameras that people were observing my reaction on a April fool show. The dog food was paired up well with the non existing waiter who was as mysterious as James Barbour in phantom of opera less the voice. The waiter only came twice to our table during our 2-hour visit. Our plates piled up as if I were about to perform board breaking in my karate class. He should have wore a half mask to avoid being stalked in the dark. As many yelpers mentioned, we are willing to pay double the price to get the "old" brunch back. I feel humiliated by paying $30 more for the dog food and the "phantom" service. Typically, it's wise to eat at the restaurant of the observatory because we get both the food and the view, such as CN Tower in Toronto, Space Needle in Seattle, Stratosphere in Vegas, and etc. Agreed with other yelpers that, for Rockefeller, I would just pay for the observatory when my out of state friends visit me again. I feel sorry that they had to suffer with me.

The food was very good, but prices were (as expected) through the roof, so I had to be cautious with what I ordered. Service, however, was NOT stellar. Our waiter could have cared less. I did not tip very well, and probably would not go back unless I a) won the lottery (and even then there are other places I'd rather try) or b) someone wanted to take me there on a date (in which case I would not complain!) And PS, what's the deal with asking for TWO tips? Our waiter and our captain? I was so confused when I got this bill... they should really offer a tutorial or something. I've been to nice restaurants before, but I've never been asked to give two tips... so confused about all that.

Brunch at top of the rock. My wife made great effort to get a reservation for sunday brunch at the rainbow room there is a reason why it took several calls to secure the time for our reservation due to the popularity of the location. The food and service match the top of the world decor. The buffet had many delicious opitions from seafood bar to crepe station. Also you can order entrees for cook to order items. Chicken pot pie with a flakey puff crust covering a creamy chicken and mushroom morsels make this dish taste like not ordinary pot pie. Other high lights include lobster egg bene and mac N cheese with shortribs. Making this meal a must for every weekend visit to ny.

My husband and I went here for the Rose Bar Pop up held during the summer months and we had a great time. Amber was a really great bartender and very personable. My husband enjoyed the cider and my favorite was the watermelon rose sangria. A beautiful view as well!

The views are great, but when we went the outdoor area was closed down. The food was mediocre and the service was poor but the drinks were tasty. I would recommend coming for a drink and the view and getting food elsewhere.

Went for the Summer pop up Rose Bar, if it comes back you have to go! It's super cute!! Venue: 5 Stars...beautiful and it really never gets old being in Rock Center. It's just a part of NY that you have to love. Service: 5 Stars...not pushy not too intense...it was perfect. We were allowed to do our tastings and savor it all without having to be pushed around to order another drink or get up from the table. Food/Drink: Fabulous 5 Stars. Great selection of wine and great presentation. I would return again and again, it was a fun Girl's Night.

Wow! Ambience was beautiful. Service was attentive. Food was fantastic. And you can't beat the views. We went for Sunday brunch and they really know how to make you feel special. Make sure you come HUNGRY because there are so many delicious things to try. Highlight of the meal was the chicken and mushroom pot pie. This place is truly special and will make you feel important.

Ordered the lobster risotto and some sort of peekytoe crab lobster dish. It was great!

This actually should be for 65, the newly renovated bar, but I couldn't find it to check in. Disappointing - expensive drinks, average taste and serving size. Kinda slow, not much peoplewatching. Setting was a bit odd...the overall ambience just left me a bit cold and disappointed. To be fair, it was late (930p) when we arrived, the room may have been set up for a party earlier, who knows? The elevator was amazingly fast and smooth...65 floors?!? Wow. I won't be back, but I wouldn't necessarily discourage others from checking it out, my experience may have been anomalous. It was just very average for the reputation and price. Of course, the views are stunning. ..

Just hosted a wedding. If there is a more elegant, professional, and perfect space, I am not aware of it. Everything was perfect!

Come prepared-- you need reservations, the drinks and food are pricey, and you need to be dressed appropriately. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND MAKE A RESERVATION IF YOU WANT TO EAT HERE OR SPEND ANY LENGTH OF TIME HERE. There is standing room at the bar and out on the outdoor deck looking over the city so it's an easy place to grab a drink. There are a few standing cocktail tables you can order appetizers at. WHAT TO GET AT THE BAR - Manhattan (20) - we had quiet a few drinks while we were here and this was hands down our favorite. I absolutely love whiskey and order Manhattans all the time and this was delicious. Service is poor for what this place is... for the size of the restaurant & price of the items on the menu here, it shouldn't take 20 minutes to have your water refilled or figure out how to order another drink without having to get up and go to the bar. The commentary on service applies to the host/hostess and servers both in the restaurant portion and at the cocktail tables. The bartenders are AMAZING- super attentive, nice, and quick on their feet. Everything else made up for what they lacked in service.

The ambience was a classy and upscale one in the heart of the city. We celebrated 1 year wedding anniversary and wanted it to be special, which it was! The prime aged sirloin was delicious. It was a wonderful experience with priceless views of the city and a very accommodating and friendly staff! In my opinion it was well worth the money

I went by the rainbow room earlier today with an older friend of mine visiting from South America. We were rejected for not being in correct attire. My friend had on Columbia winter pants Nike's she had just bought earlier that day and a north face jacket. They say their dress code is 'cocktail chic' but women were dressed in workout pants, older white men from the Midwest (this is a tourist-only spot) were dressed in worn out dockers and company t shirts (the kind you get at the yearly offsite). Honestly, it seemed they just targeted my friend for looking non-American. I had on worn out white Stan smiths and the manager said that I was borderline but don't worry because I looked more put together. What??! I'll follow up with nbc and the restaurant as I took pictures and video of everything - what an intro to New York for a tourist visiting, I guess trump tower is just down the street so makes sense to follow suit.

I reserved 3 weeks ahead waiting for a full variety of international gourmet, but it turned out to be just a dandy traditional American brunch. We got seated, and given a menu, where there is very few main courses of choice. Benedict w duck/lobster/salmon/chicken, omlet w duck/lobster/salmon/chicken, burger/Sandwich w duck/lobster/salmon/chicken... And there is only a bacon bar, a yogurt bar and a juice bar. Bacon is OK, coz I'm not a meat eater. yogurt bar turns out to be my favorite. But come on, 125 dollars should be more than this!! Dessert bar is not bad, at least 5/6 types of cakes including cheesecake and vanilla/chocolate icecream. But I only had two slices of the cheesecake coz they gave me this very dense cinnamon roll like buns/biscuits. We were given two types of biscuit at the very beginning. I just feel like they want us stuffed with dense carbon even before the meal. All in all, $300 including tax for two doesn't pay off. Even taking into consideration the view. I can just grab a burger and go to the observation deck!!! That will cost much less but with better view.

My partner and I attended an event for two of our friends here on Friday evening and the whole experience was absolutely amazing!! It all started out at cocktail hour in the gallery where we met up with friends and got seat assignments. Glasses of champagne were being passed around but you could go to the bar and get a specific cocktail if you would like. The views at the top of the rock are always amazing and this space was no exception. A few cocktails and after some wonderful hors d'oeuvres later we all made our way into the Rainbow Room. The room is spectacular and is almost out of a dream where everything seemed to shine magically. After a ton of pictures, everyone made there way to their seats and the band started to play. Entree and wine orders were taken, I had the Brazilian fish and my partner had the vegetarian option which was a cauliflower dish. All of the food was great, from the mushroom risotto appetizer to the plate of small deserts. The end of the night dancing on the rotating dance floor filled with friends, laughter, and great memories. Overall I don't think you could go wrong with the venue weather its for brunch, dinner, a wedding, or a special event. 5+ Stars for sure!

Ressrvationsist named Ryan really dropped the ball here. We had made a 9:15pm reservation via email, however the hostess in not, not a condescending tone told us that the reservation didn't exist. Ryan, why did you do this to us? It was a special night. You ruined our night. Sad. So, so sad. I hope that you had a good reason for not doing your job.

The experience was rather underwhelming even though it was something I had been looking forward to for weeks. I liken it to eating buffet at a upscale Las Vegas hotel, not a big deal. The room was pretty nicely done and renovated but in an understated way, after awhile, you tended not to notice it much. The center of the room where the buffet was set out is probably the nicest part, but like I said - understated. Most of the food was decent, a few dishes I enjoyed more than others, but overall everything was ok. Since Rainbow Room offered a variety of cuisines, Thai (green curry), Indonesian (beef rendang), dim sum (pork buns, ha gow), cured hams (3 year old Iberica), American breakfast foods (bagels, french toast, sugar cinnamon roll, bacon), sushi (salmon, California roll)...nothing was especially good, it veered towards run-of-the mill. I enjoyed the Amish fried chicken, and sauteed brussel sprouts the most. The view of the outside is nice, but since it was daytime, and the room is not conducive to people walking around looking at different views, the empire state building or one of those higher observatories is still better. The jazz music was a softer and more subtle note to the buffet, the musicians were kept kind of out of the way, at narrow space in front and up near the ceiling. Overall, I satisfied my curiosity by coming here, but for a price of more than a hundred per person, it's not really worth it to come again. (Btw, orange juice here is $8 a glass, though tea and coffee are complimentary.) Another note, the wait staff did try very hard to be accommodating and attentive, though the hostesses seemed a bit cold.

Having a Sunday brunch (buffet style) at the Rainbow Room is a once in a life time experience. It will likely be one of the most fanciest brunch buffet one will ever go to. I treated my sister & my dad here (yesterday) as an early birthday present/celebration. They both loved the place. Service was exceptional, atmosphere was very relaxing, live jazz band was wonderful, and the decor was beautiful. Food was good but not the best (some food items were a hit or miss, and some of the seafood items were not that fresh). We all thought that we enjoyed the atmosphere/music/decor, more than the food itself. Nonetheless, I do recommend taking a loved one here for a special occasion. It cost $95 per person excluding taxes. Any beverages other than tea, coffee, or water will be an additional fee. Our waitress was very sweet, she offered us complimentary ginger champagne free of charge, and brought my sister a cupcake on a platter that had "happy birthday" written in chocolate on it. My sister was surprised but very happy with the gesture. Tips: Try to make reservations 2 months in advance on their website. I recommend going to the 1st time slot (the 11:30 am) one - better dibs on tables and foods.

Imagine calling and emailing the Rainbow Room on November 5th and trying to get a reservation for 10 and having 0 response. Then imagine emailing again on December 9th and being told that they are reserved fully and to make the request earlier. That is the Rainbow Room! When someone is planning on spending over $1600 for a celebration and no one has the time to answer your call or respond to your email.

Wow! What a view.. worth visiting, and worth the ambiance. But I left hungry.. nothing here for a vegetarian or vegans.

Tourist trap with woeful service and absurd prices. Ultimately you will still come here if you are traveling from out of town, for the Gram, but don't expect good service, class or smiles from anyone but the bust boys

Amazing Views of the Skyline! Whether you stand at the bar or get a table feel free to walk around the Windows (inside or outside) and go check out those amazing views! The Drinks here are plenty strong. Had to order a Manhattan just out of the history of the drink but I also had a Sazerac and that was plenty good also! Came twice on my stay in NYC. Had horrible service our 1st time, (our waiter seemed to disappear after we ordered an appetizer) the food was finally served to us over 30 minutes later and it wasn't hot at all. Molly the Manager came over and made it right! She was very friendly and helped me book another reservation a few days later. This is a must visit when in Manhattan.

The Rainbow Room was phenomenal. All of the staff was extremely personable and professional. The food and entertainment was amazing. The views were unreal. This is something that everyone should experience at least once in their lifetime. I highly recommend the Rainbow Room!

For my 400th review, I can say Rainbow Room is sufficiently worth reviewing. After a five year renovation closing, Rainbow Room reopens offering a Sunday brunch buffet ($95) and Monday night a la carte dining with live entertainment. In regards to brunch, it was certainly one of the most fanciful, yet fun white tablecloth brunch buffets I have experienced. Although I can't take credit for setting one, a reservation will prove a bit of a challenge (taken 60 days in advance, with few openings in between). Foremost, the space is simply captivating. Located on the 65th floor of 30 Rock, you are surrounded by breathtaking views of the city. An adjoining room provides the views alone. Take this opportunity for many photos. Vintage chandeliers, mirrored walls, crystal curtains, a circular dance floor, plus a live band, adorn and surround a large, impressive space that resonates a slight touch of contemporary with predominantly classic. Soft, grey colored walls provide a neutral palette for the decorative elements of tastefully done glitz and glamour. On to the dining, there is simply too much that can be covered in words when it comes to their buffet. A 360 degree buffet, labeled and separated into sections, provides an immense variety. You should be here for a good few hours, trying a little bit of every thing they offer. The buffet consists of, but is not limited to, a raw bar, sushi bar, a meat carving station, charcuterie of cheese and salumi, breads, pasta dishes, Asian-inspired dishes, pate varieties, and truffle and grits. There is also a crepes and desserts station to the other side. They nearly cover all types of food. Some dishes were admittedly better than others. My favorites -- the crepes, risotto, meat carving station, truffle and grits, and pate section. We managed to try a lot, yet not all, within a span of 3 hours. Seated around 2PM, we were officially stuffed by 5:30PM. Note: Take your time. No one will rush you. Soak in as much of the experience, and try as much of their food. You might not get this chance too often. Rainbow Room is a truly landmark, classy establishment with much to offer when it comes to dining and atmosphere. Do not neglect to dress to impress. Hardly pretentious at all, as some may think. All in all, superb time at the Rainbow Room. I would undoubtedly return and recommend others to try.
