Ralph’s Famous Italian Ices and Ice Cream

Please don’t go here. We ordered the strawberry shortcake cake sundae that was supposed to be served in a clear cup as pictured in the front with all the other sundae flavors. Once I saw the guy making the sundae in a larger clear container I asked why is it there and not in the cup? They said oh the pound cake won’t fit it that cup..That is false representation of a product. When I tried to change he got annoyed and said ok I’ll throw it out and order something else. I said ok great but you won’t charge for the sundae that looks monstrous with overload of whip cream? He said oh no I’ll throw it out and STILL CHARGE YOU FOR IT, because I made it. This is poor customer service as there was no solution for the customer and the product they misrepresented. My daughter was so disappointed and ended test tasting the sundae that disappointed at every level. Do better Ralph’s Famous Italian ice cream!! Will not be back and will not recommend at all. STAY AWAY this an honest review, you will regret it. See pics of the mess we were given.

Every time we come to the park my kids love to get some ice cream and they love it. I love their ice cream too. Good prices. Good staff.

Aw, Ralph's is great. Don't listen to the naysayers, didn't like the container. Ralph's hires college students and they try so hard! Go and tell your friends to enjoy a NYC love!!

Just like the old days! Got a cherry ice with the chunks of cherries, with the delicious, not too sugary, flavor! My only gripe it was 6+ bucks for a small! I know, it’s New York City, but come-on man, maybe four bucks would feel less painful. If you guys were just a little bit cheaper, I’d go here all the time but, at six bucks, I just can’t do it. Great Italian ice though! Brought me back to when I was a kid!!

The ice cream is great. But the service is terrible. You wait forever. Ridiculous

Had kiddie scoops of blue hawaii water ice and cookie monster ice cream. Both good. (I loved different flavors more I had at another Ralph's location, left a five star review for that, though I'm sure each flavor is identical across locations. Wasn't sure whether to try representing that in a single review or two!)

They want to charge you 3.50 for a pup cup. A literal table spoon of whip cream that probably costs 5 cents. WHAT A JOKE!

Top off your stay at the fabulous adjacent Tompkins park with an ice cream. Look at the posted images: the variety is endless. You can get here soft serve, ices, shakes, combinations, Sundays, toppings and flavours. The prices are reasonable and the servings are generous. Restrooms and seating can be found in the park.

The sugar free lemon is fine; I'd get it again, but it lacks the punch of sugar (understandably). Tip: They take Apple Pay but you have to hand your phone to the employee! If you're not comfortable with that, bring your credit card or cash.

perfect sweet treat after a warm day the the park. the staff are friendly and accommodating and there are flavor combinations GALORE ! generally there's a short line around the corner but it moves at a decent pace. i love the pineapple cream ice twister with vanilla soft serve!

I've walked past Ralph's so many times in the past year and finally got the opportunity to stop and grab a creme ice. I love a place with options and tons of flavors to try! The creme ice has the creamy texture of ice cream but melts in your mouth quicker. It's a lighter dessert, which makes it easy to go down after a filling meal. The Pina Colada Creme Ice tastes just like the mocktail, and there's coconut bits in it. This is treat brings me back to my childhood, and this place gives nostalgic Italian ice and playground vibes. This is the kind of place where you take your ice to go. The line moves fast!

A classic! One of my favorite places to go in the summer and I can't wait for them to open back up! Not pictured, but their cannoli ice is AMAZING. The service is always great and the cashiers are kind. It is right next to Tompkins so it's a perfect pit stop on a bright sunny day!

I've been here twice in as many days. This was a Mother's Day stumble upon after a leisurely walk from brunch at The Cabin courtesy of my youngest PowerPuff Girl. It was a beautiful, hot day, and seeing the marquee for Italian icees was absolutely perfect. She ordered the pineapple water ice. I opted for the pistachio ice cream cone. All I can say is, it was perfection from the first taste to last. The pineapple was amazing. I swear there were chunks of real fruit in it! The cone was crispy, and the pistachio was very, very good. My DH loves Italian icees, so I vowed I'd bring him down, so here we are 24 hours later. He went for his usual flavor, cherry ice. He likes it... a lot. After a sample, I chose the root beer water ice. Now... I LOVE ROOT BEER! It's hard to replicate that flavor, so this has to be the real thing. We've already decided to return. This is our new favorite place.

Such a perfect thing to have on a hot summer day. We just wanted a small refreshing treat, so it was great that Ralph's offered a kid's sized ice. For the price and size, I thought it was really worth it. If you're ever in the area and need something cool and refreshing, this is the spot!

So so good!!! I had a cookie dough sundae. It was delicious. Very creamy ice cream but it was a bit heavy on cookie dough I couldn't finish the bottom of sundae full of it. Little corner ice cream joint where you order right at the window and take to go, there's a pizza shop next door that had tables outside so we ate by there and it was fine. Wish there was more ice cream on the "doughnado" I'd come back and request that there be a little less cookie dough and more ice cream :)

If you ever stop by, definitely get a scoop of a mango and a scoop of passion fruit ice! So good!

Hands down the best ice cream! i got the ice which makes it a lot lighter. the espresso beans were so delicious too

I am an ice cream/gelato lover through and through- so was a bit skeptic at first BUT surprisingly pleased with this spin on my favorite frozen treat. We ordered 2 creme ices: -piña colada: sweet, creamy, with small strings of coconut -chocolate fudge brownie: chunks of brownie living in a sea of perfectly blended Italian ice with a hint of creaminess Ordered smalls but good portion size, adequate price, good service. Popular late night snack. Impressed by the large variety of creations only limited by your imagination - includes ices, cremes, soft serve and regular ice cream. They offer combinations of different ice types too if you want to customize!

The girls behind the counter were so nice and had to deal with a whole onslaught of interesting characters before us so make sure to be nice to the staff. Highly recommend the custard.

Ralph's Famous Italian Ice on Avenue A is not one I can visit often. I do think this is one of the coolest of their locations. I've got a location closer to home. I'm not a fan of the Italian Ice but I'm a huge fan of the Soft Serve. I usually have a cup. The cones are great too when it's a really hot summer day. I typically find a place nearby in this neighborhood and have a seat. If you haven't had Ralph's Italian Ice or Soft Serve just read the reviews! It's the best!! I'm very overdue to spend the day in this neighborhood!

There's a reason why the reviews are good. Because the ice creams are so awesome. Spent the whole day walking around, and topping it off with a pistachio and chocolate ice cream was the perfect choice. The scoops are pretty big!!!!

Convenient location, nice staff, fast service, delicious product, good value :) The lemon water ice was perfect after a day of walking in heat and humidity! They also gave us cups of water for free

I'm a big fan of Ralph's Famous Italian Ices and will go all the way to Staten Island to have it. Good thing they're opening them everywhere so I don't have to go to Staten Island anymore. I usually get the Spumoni (cherry, pistachio, chocolate) creme ice but I decided to get the pineapple and mango water ice on a hot Saturday night. What I like about their water ice is that they have bits of fruit in it so it's super refreshing. The portions are large even for a small size. They also have good milkshakes and ice cream. I'll definitely be back if I'm ever in the area.

Went on a scavenger hunt to find a rare hard seltzer. In doing so, we passed by Ralph's. Since it was hot and humid, Italian ice sounded like it was well overdue. I tried the passion fruit Italian ice and it had the perfectly smooth consistency and great flavor. I feel like you can't go wrong with any other flavor so definitely stop by for a quick and tasty treat!

Another new Ralph's just opened on Avenue A in place of that mediocre gelato place that didn't last too long. Ralph's is great, with hundreds of options for a very sweet, satisfying dessert. I love me the twisters or whatever they're called, with a layer of soft serve followed by a layer of water or cream ices, and finally topped with more soft serve. Tonight's choice of iced was Peanut Butter Fudge Pretzel, which was excellent.

SO MANY OPTIONS!!!! eat your little italian ice heart out here. Top with gelati for a creamy change up. Huge portions. Perfect for a hot day, or any day for that matter.

Perfect night to get ice cream outside the park Line was long and moved quickly The service was FAST friendly and the ice cream was delicious 5 of us for $20 or so was pretty awesome too! We watched a ton of people being served and not too many leave reviews but everyone seemed happy I'll be back

There is truly no comparing the flavors and quality for ices This is one of the best From the actual prices of marzipan in the pistachio to the bubble gum in the bubblegum to the seasonal specialties like pumpkin which are uncanny You have to get an ice from Ralph's when in the area !

Coconut creme ice .... amazing! Who would of thought?! Obviously someone! My god is it good, it even had pieces of coconut in it, which I love! What a delicious treat to end a day in the city with. We also got the chocolate soft serve dipped in cherry .. a classic, and delicious. The women behind the counter was patient and had great customer service. Definitely coming back for that coconut creme ice ... but this time I'm going to buy the whole container!

Best easy ice cream fix around. No frills but lots of flavors. Love the old school walk-up-window vibe.

Banana ice cream, very authentic ice cream! I went there with my date, no line need to be waited at night.

We came in for a spontaneous milkshake - cake batter with Oreos and caramel sauce. We got the shake extremely quick, as almost no one was ordering ice cream at 11PM on a Saturday night when it was 50 degrees outside. I was perplexed at the shake looking extremely runny, but the consistency was surprisingly thick. Thiccc with 3 C's! The cake batter was doused in caramel sauce and loaded with Oreos. Absolutely divine and wonderful for my soul. Make sure to check out Ralph's! Even with fall and winter coming, their milkshakes will bring all the boys and girls to their yard.

While it's been sad to see businesses all over the EV disappearing during the pandemic, this is a great addition to the neighborhood and the water ices are seriously yummmmm.

Pretty good treats. They have a huge menu of frozen desserts. I got a Creme Ice and it had good size chunks of fruit in it. Every time I've been past there the line has been substantial. Overall pretty good but not worth waiting in line for it.

Excellent soft serve. I'm picky about soft serve and I love theirs. 10/10 recommend!!

Ralph's Ices is a chain Italian Ice/Ice Cream shop in New York and New Jersey. It has been my go to spot ever since I was introduced to it. I love all of their small pop up shops but recently their East Village location opened up and is my favorite one. In this cool world of flavors, you can choose from dozens of varieties of frozen goodness to quench your palate and satisfy your sweet tooth. Ralph's serves water ices, creme ices, frozen drinks, smoothies, extra thick shakes, iceburgs (ice cream on top of a smoothie), twisters (ice cream layered between Italian ice) and ice cream sundaes. They also have no sugar added options and many of the flavors are gluten-free and good for vegans. Some of the more creative ice flavors are jelly ring, birthday cake, mudslide, cannoli, peanut butter fudge pretzel, rainbow cookie, red velvet and tiramisu. They have ices that are the typical Italian ice and they have these ices that are more creamier...can't explain them but they are all oh so good. Overall, the best local Italian Ice place. The Doughnado is what had me freaking out. I am a killer fan of cookie dough and Ralph's killed it with their version. They have a large assortment and there is always something different to try. You'll never run out of flavors if you mix and match. Head over before they close for the season! Do ask for Ingrid at this location, her customer service was phenomenal! She was patient and cleaned up each cup when it started dripping!

Pumpkin pie flavor is the best flavor. I'm so happy they opened this new location. A must when visiting.

Just made a pit stop try the new place nice employees picked up pineapple ice and coconut. The reason they get 3 stars is due to not giving out a taste sample due to COVID-19. My question is do you only have one sample spoon? So what's the issue? If you're gonna feature seasonal flavors how do you know if you like it without tasting it. Not a good way to run a business especially new on the block. Spend 30.00 don't think I will return as I don't want to buy flavors I can't taste especially when your buying a pint or more. As per management due to COVID-19 Really.

Always a great time. Not your classic ice cream in the best way. Always been a huge fan of ices and never had cream flavors but they are absolutely delicious and a lighter option to normal ice cream.
