"Chicken-based broths are the order of the day here, like wafu shoyu ramen with a chicken, kelp, dried bonito, and soy sauce base. Other styles include shio, miso, and paitan, an incredibly rich chicken broth with garlic and spicy miso. All bowls of ramen come with your choice of chicken, pork, or beef. The menu is more than just noodles, however, with tsubaki buns (think Japanese versions of bao) and rice bowls. Try the kara-age (Japanese-style fried chicken) rice bowl with kewpie mayo and shredded scallion." - Matt Lardie

This was my second time visiting this restaurant, and I ordered the same dish as the first time: the Kara-Age (fried chicken) Rice Bowl. The first time I came, I’ll admit, my eyes played tricks on me. When I saw the portion size of the bowl, I wasn’t sure it would be enough to fill me up. But I was wrong. The meal was more than satisfying, and I ended up finishing the whole bowl for lunch. As a Filipino who loves rice, this place really hits the spot—it truly fills my soul. On my second visit, we had the added bonus of the chef personally bringing our meals to the table. It was a fun, personal touch to have that one-on-one experience with the chef. We took a moment to thank him for preparing our food, and it was clear that every time we came here, the food quality remained consistently great. The Kara-Age Rice Bowl, once again, did not disappoint, and I left feeling completely satisfied. It’s one of those places that I’m excited to return to, knowing the food and service will always meet my expectations.

Google
Food here was amazing. However they only have two broths. Chicken and mushroom. Was hoping on beef broth. But nonetheless this ramen was delicious. Ask for the chili powder and oil.

I ordered the miso ramen, and it did not disappoint! The broth was rich and flavorful, and I appreciated that they made it spicy upon request. For less than $13, it’s a great deal for a hearty and delicious bowl of ramen. The only downside? The broth ladle they provided was absolutely massive—I’m convinced it was meant for cooking, not for an individual bowl. That said, the food itself was top-notch, and I’ll definitely be back!

Google
this was our first time here and it was pretty good! the miso ramen was flavorful and super filling for only $13! i did order the chicken karage and pork bun for appetizers and both were good but i’ve personally had better karage at others where the batter is more crunchy. and i wished the buns came with two rather than one. others got the rice bowls and poke bowl which were on the smaller end. still delicious though! i would come here again just for the ramen! if you’re craving ramen, this place is not a bad choice!

Google
We had the pork bun, pork dumplings, Beef miso ramen (option C with beef), the Wafu shoyu (option A with chicken), & the kara-age rice bowl (fried chicken). The ramen noodles were thick and good portions. Soup was delicious without being too salty or crowded by ingredients. Chicken was perfect but when we ate it for leftovers a few hours later, the texture was weird lol, nbd. Can't wait to come back, this will be a family staple moving forward.

Google
I wanted to like it but couldn’t get past the price of these overcooked hard boiled eggs in our soup, for almost 3 dollars an egg up charge on each soup, the least they could do was cook them properly. One to 2 thin pieces of meat in each bowl. Not much flavor either. Over $40 with tip for very below average food, that was just 2 bad ramen bowls.

Marti R

Google
Small place with a limited menu in comparison to others but the flavor will knock your socks off! Service was quick and attentive. We have four dishes and all were tons of flavor with zero leftovers. This might have been our first time but it mostly certainly won't be our last!

Google
Ramen Tsubaki is another great Ramen Shop in Fayetteville. Simple and Sweet is the theme here. The menu is small but everything on it is going to delicious and authentic. Great place for a quick bite to eat! P.S If you want some spice added just ask to make it spicy

Kerwin T.

Yelp
Food is very good considering we are thousand miles away from japan. Gyoza is very authentic, use proper gyoza skin and cooked properly panfried rather vs deep fried with eggroll skin The paitan ramen is a must! Very rich soup base, go for pork charsiu as it is perfectly cooked. Noodles have the right amount of chewiness as they make ramen inhouse! (Have a room just for making the ramens) The shio ramen is also good in its own way. For me its a light broth which im sure my daughter will love it! Service is good as food came at fast and server was very patient answering my question Ambiancr is very typical american japanese setup. Very clean place

Sarah B.

Yelp
They were quick, great portions, and the place is a whole in the wall. I ate everything! It was incredible!

Tenishia A.

Yelp
The food was amazing. This was my first time eating here. I will definitely make my way back! The service was quick, food was hot and the environment was inviting.

Boba M.

Yelp
The male cooks constantly sexually harass me and the waitstaff are slow/inattentive. NEVER GOING BACK!!!

Rob R.

Yelp
Service is a little slow , so if you're not on the go or need to be somewhere then stick around as the food was good

Edwin C.

Yelp
Cozy restaurant with nice tables. Nice place to bring a date. Had the miso ramen and shoyu based ramen 4 stars. The calamari, takoyaki, and gyoza are worth checking out. Service was amazing. When a baby started crying they offered to take and calm them down and played with them while the meal was being finished. Great family restaurant!

Gabrielle S.

Yelp
We (my brother and I) placed a big family to go order over the phone it was very easy and fast. The food was very delicious that I ate. I ordered the fried chicken rice bowl, gyoza, spring rolls just for myself. I will be coming back to try the dine in experience!

Jessica M.

Yelp
Idk how the reviews are so good. The ramen was almost flavorless. The pork buns were good but very disappointed with the ramen. Spent over 50$ for most of it to be wasted. My son said- it taste like I'm eating warm water.

Yayo S.

Yelp
This was the worst ramen I've had in my life. My wife and I try a ton of different ramen spots and this by far is the worst im confused on to how this place has a high rating.

Gary J.

Yelp
Perfectly delivers narrow bowls of exotic noodles. Walking in, you are hit with a pleasing symmetric neon sign that reads, "Japanese Noodles." This is a clear and present warning to all of you who do not understand Korean dishes like "Pho" is not "ramen." Food (that broth is what you come back for): Oh that broth. That broth in the "Paitan Rich" (Letter B) locked me in a trance. The kind waitress revealed that it is the heavier of the broths A through F. I chose Pork and was rewarded. Pork is fattier than chicken and lighter than beef. It soaks up all those magnificent broth flavors (like chicken) but offers a punch of fat (like beef) without overpowering anything. Go ahead and add the soft boiled egg (currently priced for one split in two for $1.75) and bean sprouts. Both are a la carte add-ons. Both will enhance whatever mildness of broth you prefer (A through F). That Calamari (pictured below with the main entree) was delicately and golden-fried. Dare I say the the stuff it was fried in tasted better than the meat? That is a tip of the hat to the cook but not to the one who orders from restaurant wholesalers. Fairly priced at around $5.75 (inevitably market based) it was good! Little hard bits made me feel like I was devouring a socket wrench set though. It comes with a mayo and cayenne (looking) powder that is a plus (kind of like the folks that give you ketchup and horseradish separately for raw oysters (so you can make it the way you like it). My applause is offered overall as to Food only. Other than Food: -Confusing layout upon entry (do I sit, stand, ring a bell, or just scream?); -A little slow on the service (including check reciept); and -Appetizer (a beautiful Calamari) came out long after the entree (Japanese Noodles). This place did great and deserves its 3-star for both the Food and Non-Food reasons cited above.

Mary C.

Yelp
Oh my gosh the food here is so yummy!! We had pork roll, miso ramen, and gyoza. Fabulous!!

Gale L.

Yelp
I'm giving 2 stars because of the price. On the menu is 1 price, but what the ring you up is another price. Each item I've ordered is 50 cents more. I've asked the cashier and they said "recently up the price due to rising food cost." I've told them, then you need to change the menu. Cashier just shrugged. Definitely not going back due to the shadiness of this business.

Melanie N.

Yelp
Very sweet server. However, the ramen was bland and our poke bowls were mostly rice. Still looking for a good ramen spot.

Jamie B.

Yelp
This is my very first time trying Ramen Tsubaki Fayetteville, NC. Let me give you some background info on my experience with the "other kind of ramen" since I only eat Korean ramen. I had my very first miso ramen back in Durham at some new ramen shop and all I could think was that this ramen was so , too rich? that I needed something to cut it. I added whatever chili oil they had and it just didn't do much for the flavor. I was really hungry for something delicious today. It's really hard being a "single mom" and having to do everything for your two kids that are in the toddler and infant stages. I needed to treat myself but also I have had no kind of appetite these past few weeks. I would be hungry but didn't feel like eating anything and so I starved myself until right before bed. It's hard to fall asleep on an empty stomach. I went to Ramen Tsubaki tonight with two kids in toll. I ordered everything that I wanted to try. The order of the dishes: 1 ) B. Paitain Rich Ramen add egg - The egg was over cooked. I expected a more runny center but it was okay. The broth was very flavorful and you can taste the miso and pork that was cooked in it. The pork/meaty taste was not offensive. I made sure to stir in all the chili paste (tasted liked GochuGaru paste for kimchi). The rolled pork slices were thick and a little chewy but tasty. As you can see, ALL CLEAR~! 2) shrimp spring rolls (too doughy in the center and too tiny) 3)Gyoza (pork) - menu says they are handmade in store. Tasted overly gingerly but tasted good. 4) Kara-Age Bowl (fried chicken) - After the first bite, I drizzled the chili oil on the spoon before each bite. You have to love mayo to eat this dish. If you don't, no point in eating just rice and fried boneless chicken. The chicken was seasoned just enough and not too salty. 5) Pork bun - As the photo shows, plain Jane. The sauce was just the sweet chili sauce with mayo. The bun was nice and fluffy. If there were a crunchier and acidic component , it would have enhanced the taste. The pork belly inside was tender. I thankfully gained my appetite back for the evening. I would definitely return to this restaurant. Thanks to the chef for a delicious meal.

Una D.

Yelp
Pretty average but I was in the mood for some ramen and this kind of hit the spot. I thought the broth in the ramen bowl was rather bland. It definitely wasn't as spicy as I was hoping it would be or flavorful. Glad I got to check it out but I don't think I would be coming back. No service issues or parking issues or ambiance issues.

Alex V.

Yelp
Enjoyable service, the music in the restaurant was modern and catchy! Food has a good appearance and great taste, our waitress even took our photo when we were going to take one! I'd recommend coming because the customer service was on top!

Omar M.

Yelp
Out traveling on business we all want comfort food. Who doesn't, right? Well, today my hankering was for some hearty Ramen. Ramen Tsubaki absolutely hit the spot. I noticed right away the cleanliness of the place and felt I made a good decision in choosing them. Their staff is friendly and are from the islands (Micronesia). I ordered C, their miso ramen with pork chashu and a side of Gyoza (pot stickers). Zero complaints about either. At first I thought my bowl didn't have enough broth, but I had plenty left in the end. You won't be let down here so do visit them the next time you're in Fayetteville.

Katie N.

Yelp
Came in for dinner and ordered the Paitan Ramen and the Shio Ramen. The Paitan Ramen had a thicker broth with a hint of spice which I really enjoyed. The Shio Ramen had a very light broth which was good but I felt was lacking flavor. I also wished they would give you more soup because as I was eating my noodles, I noticed my soup was almost gone. The server was very nice and the ramen was a made to order, so you don't get soggy noodles. Overall, I would definitely order the Paitan Ramen again and try to ask them for extra soup.

Hamilton S.

Yelp
Great Ramen. Always enjoy eating here with friends I recommend the miso ramen with a pork bun

Dovonna R.

Yelp
Excellent- so satisfying and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We ordered the Vegan Ramen Bowl and added spicy miso which isn't insane but very tasty. I also asked for tomatoes in my bowl - wish I had asked for avocado too but nevertheless it was delicious. So glad we found this place.

Andy L.

Yelp
I love ramen, I love soup, I love food, and so here I am. First, I love that their staff are friendly, very hospitable, I loved it. I asked the server which is which and she said this and that, and so I ordered my bowl of soup with 2 kinds of meat since I am a meat eater. The food got made quick. I just wish my food had more soup in it or at least they do soup refill like other restaurants do. The blend was perfect, very flavorful nevertheless. Price is not too bad. Ample parking. Good for groups. The place was clean, it does not get busy in the evening, at least when I came here. To the staff, continue what you do, infect more mankind with your friendliness and sincerity. Drive on.

Yelp
Me and the wife went for the first time a few days ago and we absolutely loved it amazing food and amazing service definitely recommend it

Anna M.

Yelp
Great noodles, good texture, and delicious toppings. The soup is well done--not overly salty and unctuous, rich and a really nice mouth feel. Noodles were selected well and hold onto the broth as you eat. They are on the thinner side but not so thin they have no curl--slightly thicker than Hakata style ramen, but thinner than most ramen joints in the US. Chicken was really moist and super soft, but the pork "belly" was chewy and gristly. The fried squid was done well, but I wouldn't order dumplings or the bao again. This place looks nondescript from the outside, but it is warm and welcoming within. And keep in mind that it will be warm with all the vats of hot water going in the open kitchen to make your ramen! It was a little humid on a hot summer day, but I would definitely return on a cooler occasion. In terms of COVID-19 precautions, the tables are spaced apart (not full 6ft), but masking for kitchen staff seemed inconsistent. Waitresses were masked diligently, though.

Hiro T.

Yelp
I will preface this review by saying that I am very hypercritical regarding ramen. I do review ramen places in the US assuming that they will not recreate the flavors in ramen shops in Japan. That being said, Ramen Tsubaki is definitely not a great place for ramen. I tried the: Chicken Karaage: definitely not what I was expecting. First, the chicken came out sliced. Normally, chicken karaage is chunks of deep-fried chicken thighs. They serve fried sliced chicken breast. The material also seemed to be panko breading, which also is not the classic way to make this dish. Overall, not a great start to the meal. Not recommended. Miso Ramen: noodles seem to be made in house, but they have very little flavor. There is no texture to the noodles so you don't get a good mix of noodles and soup in each bite. The soup itself is very thin and does not stick to the noodles, again not allowing the dish to come together as ramen. At best, the dish is like eating bland soup base with some miso, and noodles. Overall, not a great entree. Not recommended. Overall, definitely would not recommend this place for ramen or Japanese food. Far from anything authentic. I am yet to find a great ramen place in Fayetteville, but this place is definitely somewhere at the bottom of the list.

Mark M.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place and I eat here every time in town! Excellent value for your money! Parking: plenty of spots Exterior: not super great but it's fine Interior: clean Service: excellent! Food: excellent! Price: fantastic I love visiting Ramen Tsubaki because of the food quality, taste, and price. I always order the same things and haven't been let down yet. The bathrooms are clean and well-kept too. I've been here by myself, with small groups, and large groups. Each time I received hot food served quickly, and I haven't had an issue with an order. During my most recent visit, my wife and I ordered gyoza, salad, and Kara-age. The bill was $20! I was blown away at how affordable the meal was and we both left feeling full! If you're in the area and craving ramen, make sure you stop in and try Ramen Tsubaki!

Lauren B.

Yelp
Ramen wasn't much better than just making a decent instant ramen at home & adding some garnishes. The boba/milk tea was just American sweet tea with some milk splashed on top. Service was also lacking. Would not recommend nor come back.

Ginny Y.

Yelp
oh nononono.... I was really looking forward to this place and it just left me disappointed ): Serve was okay, but would say not as attentive as I expected. My hubs and I got the miso ramen. And boy I realized it didn't come with what it normally comes with back home which was an egg, nori, and that little Naruto fish cake thing. Granted....it shows on the photo so I can only blame myself but what a disappointment. I realize I have to add those on as extra to an already overly expensive dish. Mind you, yes it is pricey with those additions and I come from DC where everything is expensive. Broth and noodles weren't memorable. The mochi was pretty good though and the decorations were super cute Overall the price did not match their quality and am reluctant to come back and give them another try

Reshard R.

Yelp
Yummy spot that is not too far off the mark for the Japanese food you are seeking. Good broth that holds up and thick ramen with delicious pork belly. I would have loved thicker pork belly with more sear on the pork bun, but it is a note they may want to take. Very well intentioned place with good service so I hope they last.

Pwade W.

Yelp
Love the service and the food there js really comforting and right when i walked in they welcomed me and they would let us sit wherever

Peter G.

Yelp
Excellent !!! I have had Ramen all over the world, this was very good !!! I'm surprised that there were not more people, usually a good Ramen restaurant is busy, oh well, I most certainly will return !!! The Gyoza was not that great but tasty. Today was the second time I have eaten here ! As was the first time it was very, good !!! Excellent service and the even gave my grandson little paper cranes. I just don't understand why there are not more people here, this is a well kept secret, I will return !!!

Zacharias P.

Yelp
This was a good place to stop in for a quick lunch. Tables were spaced out and social distancing measures were in place. I started off with an egg roll, though wish they had a summer roll. The ramen soup was good. It was filling and tasty, but could have done with some more meat. On the whole good for a quick lunch and does the trick.

Ashley B.

Yelp
Service was ass per usual. I shouldn't have to wait 20 minutes for a pickup order that's sitting in my face. Also wouldn't hurt to greet the customer but y'all greet everyone else. I wouldn't do this but I understand why so many people dine and dash. Food is on point as always but do better.

Bunmi S.

Yelp
Honestly the food is usually good . I asked for vegetable ramen as I always do with two shrimp buns and spring rolls . This time everything was incredibly greasy . The spring rolls literally soaked in oil and the broth for the ramen literally has a whole thick layer of oil at the top. I originally started eating here because it was high quality and healthy but my experience today was trash . I would've just let it go but then I called to complain and the employees were acting nonchalant and not offering a solution. They could've offered to remake it they could've offered to refund me . I was asking to speak to a manager and they said he's not here . I said when would he be there and they said they didn't know . On top of that my in store experience wasn't that great I can in and ordered my food 5 minutes before a group of five and they got their entire order before I got my single order and I damn near left a 5 dollar tip on a rake out

Zoraya M.

Yelp
Their food is good their hours are just random at times. My favorite dish is the poke bowl. It's the perfect size and for a good, cheap price.

William F.

Yelp
I loved this place. Iv driven by it so many times but never decided to go until a week ago. They were closed at the time unfortunately I did go today while they were open and it was delicious. I ate a pork bun, gyoza, and also chicken miso ramen. It was all delicious! The gyoza wasn't too crunchy and the pork bun was really flavorful. The ramen was really good. I added egg and the ramen was spicy but not overly spicy. I could have just eaten the ramen and been full but I'm really glad I tried the gyoza and pork bun because I know those are great options as well! My waitress was really nice and kept my drink refilled well in advance of me needing one. I actually got the strawberry flavored tea and my friend ordered the flavored lemonade and they were both delicious! Refills were included as well which was a nice plus. I would surely recommend this place if you're in the mood for gyoza, pork buns, or ramen!

Joey R.

Yelp
I'm not going to slam the food because there's so many good reviews. We love Asian cuisine but we couldn't get the menu and the food was too different for us. Sorry guys

Nick B.

Yelp
The ramen here is not bad but the service is sub par to say the least. Waiters working here act like they wish they were somewhere else, my waiter couldn't even speak up so I had a hard time understanding him. They took my order, eventually got the food (although it took quite some time) then they never would even make eye contact... weird, maybe I just had my waiter on a bad day.

Brad M.

Yelp
This restaurant was good. The noodles had nice flavor and texture. I had the non soup ramen, the Mazesoba. They charge extra $1 for a seasoned soft boilled egg. Heavy garlic flavor. The ramen came with pork, beansprouts and noodles. We also had the gyozi dumplings. They we're also good Others in my party ordered the Soba ramen and were disappointed with the soup, they said it was more translucent than they were used too. I'll return to try more options, but the service was not great. They only refilled our tables waters 1 time and it took the server awhile to wait on us.

Alex C.

Yelp
Good Ramen, but for a ramen specific restaurant, they are not the best. Service the first time I went was great. The second time, the service was extremely lousy. Long wait for greeting, long wait to place order, long wait to get food, and spoon and napkins. Don't recommend for kids, at all. Several other local options are available.

Danielle E.

Yelp
Loved it the first time I went here and was excited when we were going back. No wait time, but service was a little bit slow. The restaurant wasn't that full, but maybe their wait staff was missing a few people, but we had to keep asking for water. One star deduction for that. It was a warm day, but we all wanted Ramen soup, so water was essential to not burst out in sweat. Well I did, but I know my body temp, so I was all for the ramen facial. All in the name of delicious soup. BF even tissued my face LOL. I always go for the Paitan Rich Ramen with Pork or Shio Ramen with Pork Also good are the Tshubaki Gyoza (DON'T GET THE VEGGIE ONE! I like veggie gyoza, but those were disappointing) try the Pork Buns too. Atmosphere: Clean, noise level is normal so you can have a good conversation. Next time I will try their Poke Bowl - I always say that, but then get a soup instead. Why? because their soup is sooooooooooo good.

Ashley H.

Yelp
I am so disappointed. My patan ramen tasted like old sock water even after I tried to doctor it up. Then the gyoza was so soggy inside it physically made me sick. My daughters fried chicken tasted like fried saw dust. I will NEVER COME BACK HERE! 40 dollars down the drain!!!

Christina G.

Yelp
Returned here for dinner after almost a year since their soft opening, and there are definitely some changes that have been made to the menu since then! 1) Some of the prices went down a little bit. 2) There are more options. Again, I had Paitian Rich Ramen ($8.95), but this time, I had the option of choosing the meat - pork, chicken, or beef. It still contains bamboo shoots, garlic, green onion, and spicy miso, just like before. I also added a soft boiled egg (one whole egg cut in half for $1) and tofu (5 slices for $2). I was trying to be healthy with my meat selection, so I requested chicken. I was worried that it might be dry, but I was worried for nothing - it was incredibly moist, juicy, and tender! I was impressed! The tofu, on the other hand, I did not care for. I would have preferred soft, cubed tofu instead of long, firm slices. The broth was just a little spicy, just how I like it, not flaming hot. The noodles are just as soft and chewy as I had remembered from my first visit. I had forgotten how outrageously large the soup spoons are! They look large enough to scoop out all of the ramen all at one time! They added bubble milk tea ($2.95) to their menu, just one flavor, comes with tapioca. It was strange that it came in a glass instead of a boba container. Also, it resembled Thai iced tea. Since it was filled to the rim and packed with ice, it was very difficult to mix it without causing a mess. Still, it was pretty good. Also tried their Takoyaki (6 octopus balls for $4.50). They're so soft, they absolutely MELT in your mouth! The octopus was not too chewy, and the sauce on top was excellent. This is my second time ever having Takoyaki, and it was phenomenal! Well done, Ramen Tsubaki! Love the improvements. And thank you for being open later than many other restaurants in the area, and also for not rushing us! It's such a pain in the butt that most restaurants in Fayetteville close by 9pm, which is early compared to many other cities.

Kate A.

Yelp
5 stars for service. Nuff said! 4 stars for the Takoyaki. Finally a joint that serves Takoyaki in Fayetteville! Still nothing comes close to the one I tasted back in Manila at SM Mall of Asia. (Disclaimer: We've had ramen in Japan, LA, D.C., and NYC). But hello! This is Fayetteville, I can't really make a comparison. 3 stars for the non-soup-based ramen. It has flavor and is salty as I expected it to be. It didn't look exactly like the picture on the menu. They put too many bean sprouts. Plus, they forgot to put naruto and seaweed. 3 stars for the restroom. Clean looking because it's newly furnished. But not clean enough. 2 stars for the Miso Soup. So my husband and I weren't impressed with the ramen this time. It tasted weird. It seemed like the chef changed the flavoring for the worse.

Brianna Faith M.

Yelp
Wow! We had an amazing time here. It doesn't look like much from the outside but it does not disappoint! I had the Wafu Shoyu Ramen and it was packed with flavor. The ramen bowls had generous portions making me wish I had a bigger stomach to fit all the delicious food in. I tried the butterfly tea and it tasted good but much too sweet for me, there were shredded strawberries that layered the last inch of the glass and i felt like I was chewing my drink. I would suggest a plain water or tea to pair with the ramen if you are like me and can't handle a lot of sugar. We also had an order of veggie spring rolls that tasted so fresh and amazing but they were so tiny for the price that we probably won't order them again. The service was great, they explained what some of the things were since we normally don't eat a whole lot of asian food and we had a bunch of questions. Over all, we absolutely loved the food and will be back very soon. I would definitely suggest this place for anyone craving ramen for lunch.

Laura R.

Yelp
I've lived in NC for a week and have already visited this place 3 times. Their vegan ramen is BOMBBB! The service is very fast and their veggie gyozas are AMAZING.

Jonah F.

Yelp
Nice atmosphere to relax and eat some pretty good ramen, they have a enough options to give a good bit of variety when picking and some good customization options. All in all a great place to stop by and devour some ramen!

Stella Z.

Yelp
I enjoyed tasty ramen here, finally a delicious ramen despite the pleasant lack of animal flesh! The vegetarian gods be praised! It's worth it. Now I'm no ramen connoisseur (I hail from Italy, darling), but it was quite tasty if do say so myself. Yes, it may be located in a sketchy plaza in Fayetteville, but honestly what isn't? Don't judge a restaurant by its storefront, mio amico!

Chelsea M.

Yelp
I have waited a while to come here and eat. Opening day line was really long and I HATE waiting. Back then we left because it was gonna be too long. So we went there today. This was a bit of a disappointment; but not for the reason you think. Other people who have been here are probably thinking what the f@%#? Let me explain. So why the 3 instead of the 4? BC I can't give a half stars and that needs to be changed. 1) The bathroom was not tidy. Dirty no. Tidy no. 2) Service was okay. We waited on our party and everything was okay on that part, but it was a tad slow even waiting on people to come. Drinks for the people in a our group that arrived after is took awhile to receive. None of the servers were rude to anyone outright. 3) Tako yaki was cooked right. Mostly dough though and I would have liked a little more octopus in it but that is just me. The sauce was nice. Fish flakes were a nice authentic touch. Ramen was a little small. I was still a little hungry after. I know the Paitan did not have as many items as the others, but a little more noodles would have been okay by me. The flavor was okay. It was not overwhelming. The spicy miso was not that spicy. I know that is subjective. The pork was cooked right. The noodles I had were cooked right. 4) I know I have to remember not everywhere I live is as progressive as where I live. That doesn't excuse rudeness. This was from the customers not the staff and I would like to stress that part. We were a good mix of people. A woman with her kid moved tables to get away from our group. Another family glared at us until I caught his gaze. They also glared at another couple sitting next to us. I have to say the vibe from the other customers made me upset. I only told my boyfriend after. He noticed too. So even though the service was okay, and the food was okay, and the bathrooms we're not a mess- the other customers were truly what made the experience less than desirable. We have been to other restaurants in Fayetteville and have not had other customers look at us like that, behave like that because we were there, or glare at us. Will I come back? Right now I don't know.

Yelp
I read the reviews and was hesitant to try Ramen Tsubaki. First impression: the menu was small with minimal options. The waitress recommended an appetizer which I ordered. I was not impressed with the ramen or appetizer in the slightest. I will not be going back for another try.
