Total disappointment!
A drive in with a band, wagyu burgers and cowboys greeting you- what's not to like? Well hold my drink and I'll tell you all about yesterday's awful experience!
First of all, it's hard to find and you better be driving a 4x4. We were, so all good but just head my warning that it's a bumpy ride. We get there and were greeting by very nice people, no complaints on the customer service. We were told were to park...way back at the very edge of the cleared property. I don't know why, to be honest, there were spots where visibility would have been better and I thought it was first come, first serve? Nevertheless we parked where we were told, and it was ridiculous. From that spot, the inflatable screen looked like it was 12 inches! What's worse, the radio signal was horrible and none of us in that row could listen to the movie.
But I'm getting ahead of myself! When we arrived, we made our way to the band and food area.
The band was awesome by the way, the highlight of this nightmare of a night! So kudos to the band!!
So all week I'm so excited to have a 'bad ass burger' as they claim to have 'bad ass beef'. Y'all...as soon as we walked up and I couldn't smell any food cooking I knew we were in trouble. They pulled the burger out of a cooler, wrapped in aluminum foil. I KID YOU NOT. It looked like the ready-made burgers you'll see at the gas station, 7-11 style. They weren't even warm! They had nothing on them. They'd been sitting so long that the bun was stuck to the meat. The meat was flavorless and full of hard pieces, I couldn't even eat it. They only had bags of BBQ chips, that's it. That was their food selection. Guys we're spending $50 per car and I'm expecting a pretty swanky experience. Now i'm another $22 in on 2 burgers that taste like cold gas station burgers.
We head back to the vehicle to watch the movie and they really need to have some of them cowboys watching the madness. For the first 30 minutes you had people turning on their headlights, their brake lights, relocating..I mean just a circus. No one comes to tell them to 'settle down' so the rest of us that can't hear the movie and can barely see the movie are now even more disappointed.
The straw that broke the camel's back (as if all of the above wasn't enough), they started burning a fire without consideration for the fact that it was pretty windy last night. So guess what? Yep, all the smoke was blowing right into the crowd. Now I can't hear the movie, I could barely see it before and now my eyes are watering and our row begins to (yet again) relocate. Headlights and brake lights, car engines, smoke....
Yeah, we left 30 minutes into it. Worst $72 dollars I've spent!
