Your mom called and told me what the best restaurant in Valencia is. It’s called Rausell. You can look elsewhere. There are many great places throughout the city but none come close. The genius of Rausell is it encompasses all the great things under one roof. Patatas bravas? Top 10. Fabada? Legit. Tortilla? I’ve honestly never tried it cause there is so much more on the menu. Produce is everything. Come to the bar and just ask them to grill you the best seafood you’ve had, brought daily from Denia. They have daily specials too, meaning whatever was great at the market. In this case, mushrooms, grilled for a minute and drizzled with decadent olive oil and a pinch of salt. Their wine list is on point too. Sir at the bar for casual tapas or get a table in their dining room for privacy. The service is excellent, all quintessential Spanish waiters with one of the best attitudes in the whole peninsula. In case you have doubts, the ridiculously long line for their takeaway parlor next door will help you make the right choice. Reservations encouraged.
