Rausell - Review - Arrancapins - Valencia - The Infatuation

"Rausell is where chefs go when they’re off duty, so you know it’s gonna be good. This family-run institution, open since the 1940s, has fed generations of Valencians with pristine sepionet, sautéed cigalas, and arguably the best patatas bravas in town. It’s in a busy part of the city that’s more practical than picturesque, but that hasn’t stopped it from becoming a seafood wonderland. José and Miguel Rausell run the kitchen with the kind of care that comes from decades of experience and deep ties to local suppliers—they work with seven fishmongers and over 100 small producers, and still make weekly runs to the Denia fish market for the freshest gamba roja. Slide up to the bar for a quick round of small plates or settle in for a proper feast of arroz meloso and endless wine—this is the spot for a long lunch that rolls right into the afternoon. A completely wonderful dining experience. This is Taste of Valencia. Every dish seasoned to perfection. Every bite a heavenly experience. I cannot get over how amazing this place was. Valencian locals call it the BEST RESTAURANT in Valencia and I know why. Every dish will leave a beautiful memory in your mouth! Oriana - our Venezuelan waitress was so helpful and definitely this is the place to dine when you come to. Valencia. It is Five Star Worthy!

Food is amazing! The paella is out of this world! Everything is cooked fresh in front of you. But watch out: definitely caters to locals. Do not go if you don’t speak Spanish or have a Spanish speaker in your group. Even then, we got some subpar service once they realized we were not locals.

Cozy and comfortable restaurant with local market food. We tried their famous patatas bravas and didn’t disappoint. Calamares, gambas al ajillo and parrillada de verduras were also delicious, as so was the meat. In this case we tried the entrecot. Overall the price is a bit expensive but worth for special occasions. The deserts are also homemade and delicious. You also should try the cremaet

This is a popular tapas bar where locals rather than tourists turned up. If you don’t have the language, it may be a bit of a struggle as the staff & all the menus are in Spanish. Food however, is really good if you are able to decipher what they are. Prices is not cheap, similar to all the more expensive tapas bars around. For atmosphere, it’s really great in front. The back room is much less so. I particularly like their oysters & baby squids which I think are superb.

Outstanding food and service. The sirloin steak is one of the best that I've had in my recent memory. It's incredible tender, juicy and flavorful so much so that it beats most, if not all, of the the steakhouses that specialize in it. The partridge salad is another pleasant surprise. I love its mix of sweet, tangy, and umami flavors. Overall, the restaurant truly lives up to its reputation.

A MUST in Valencia. I was hesitant to go because it look upscale and too popular but I am glad we decided to go and found a space by the bar (BOOK IN ADVANCE!). We loved everything in this place. The patatas bravas are a must. We also ordered mushrooms which were in season, clams, navajas and a carrot cake. Everything is homemade and fresh. You see how the cook is making most of the stuff in front of you and the jamón gets cut to perfection. They have a side place where they sell takeaway food they make which is great if you are in a rush or if you can’t get a spot in the restaurant. The service is extraordinary, everyone is professional and friendly. You will find both tourists and local people and it’s amazing they have kept it authentic considering its popularity

We had a great experience at Rausell. Found this restaurant while looking for a place that serves good fish and it was excellent. It’s a nice experience to sit at the bar and see fresh seafood being prepared. The seabass, we shared, was cooked to perfection. Would give 6 stars if I could.

I was heartbroken to see a live lobster on ice at Rausell’s in Valencia. Lobsters are sentient beings who feel pain and fear. Many countries have banned boiling them alive or serving them while conscious. Please consider evolving this practice—your food is incredible, but this cruelty is not aligned with modern values.
