Nolla

"Nolla means ‘Zero’ and this incredibly friendly neighbourhood restaurant is all about zero waste. They don’t accept packaging from their suppliers; their uniforms are made from discarded bed linen; and they have their own composter and microbrewery. Original dishes showcase local ingredients and give a nod to Spain." - Michelin Inspector

MICHELIN Guide 2020: The New Sustainability Emblem

"We use common sense to prevent waste which, over time, becomes a trend that everyone benefits from. It's painful to see waste and neglect and, once it is done, we cannot go back. It's simply a mindset and, for us, now a daily routine." - The MICHELIN Guide Nordic Editorial Team

Had the pleasure of being at the chef's table. Service was great, everybody really friendly, attentive and patient. We found the food amazing, our favourite was the tartare with bone marrow, neck to neck with some great desserts. We had a great time, will definitely come back when we are able to.

Lovely experience. The service was attentive, but not pushy, all the servers were extremely nice. We were not too amazed by the starters, but the mains more than made up for it. The vegan mushroom dish was the surprising winner of the night!

Hands down one of the best meals I ever had. We chose the chef's table set inside the kitchen and a 5 course tasting menu. The food was masterfully adapted to our dietary requirements without a hint of a drop in quality. The waiting staff were incredible and the chef even took the time to present one of the dishes to us and have a little chat. All in all a 10/10 experience!

Really good! They have a seasonal menu which changes frequently. My favorite was the dessert—kelp ice cream with really good strawberries

Nolla is an absolute MUST visit when in Helsinki. Visited for dinner and it was incredible! We were warmly welcomed on arrival and after being shown to our table the restaurant's zero-waste mission was explained. It's clear that the staff are as passionate and impressed by what the restaurant does as the diners are! All ingredients are sourced within 250km of the front door, glass is recycled and composted waste is returned to suppliers to complete the circle. We went with the five-course Chef's Choice menu, which was an excellent choice as it offered a lot of variety and was excellent value. The dishes were chosen from the menu and we got to enjoy sourdough bread and butter, cured pike perch, deer tartar and grilled oyster mushrooms, followed by the catch of the day for the main and finally celeriac ice cream for dessert. These were truly inspired courses of cooking and the flavours were incredible. I don't think there was a single dish that I wasn't wowed by! Whilst a pairing option is available we ordered our own drinks - the cocktails were particularly good. Icing on the cake really is the staff, they were all so genuinely lovely and made the night extra special. We wanted a special meal for the last night of a three-week trip to Europe, and Nolla absolutely delivered in providing the best meal of the trip. Be sure to make a booking, it's worth it!

Better late than never I guess. I dined at Nolla for the second time, some years after my first time, and I must say it has only gotten better. Every bite you have is unique, and thought provoking and most importantly -delicious. Maybe the most memorable one for me was the black garlic dessert that left me totally speechless -hence no picture. Also in the main with the beautiful seasonal grilled burbot, the combination of carrots, red currants and the sauce I think was prawn bisque or something similar, was just outrageous. As always in the restaurants run by Luca, Carlos and co, service is impeccable and attentive, all the wine recs also deserve a mention they were equally delicious. Extra points also for being super attentive to my friend who is celiac -there was no problems of serving her the whole menu gf, and she really enjoyed also the gf bread she was offered. Can’t wait for the next visit. ❤️

We were fortunate enough to be seated at the chef's table, and had the four course tasting menu with wine pairing. Stand out dishes were the grilled pike main and the potato peel ice cream desert, but all dishes were absolutely stunning. Final bill was very reasonably priced considering the quality of food and level of service, both of which were outstanding.
