Recchiuti Confections at the Ferry Building

I ordered this to another part of the country. The packaging, shipping, and communication were very good. I purchased a large XOXO box for my husband for Valentine's Day (from a Wirecutter recommendation). As we went through the box, we were so demoralized with how displeasing so many of the flavors were. Bitter, dark chocolate surrounding flavors that didn't land right. Lemon Verbena tasted like soap, lavender vanilla was somehow flavorless. Very few milk chocolate tastes. The whole box was a lesson in self punishment. Once again, their service was great but the chocolates were very expensive and very disappointing. I'm usually a fan of well crafted dark chocolate but there were few pleasing flavors to enjoy.

OMG! I was gifted a Black Box as a birthday gift and I have to say, I have not had a finer selection of chocolates ever. The flavors are incredible. The ones with tea and coffee flavors are fabulous. I saved the candied orange peel for a friend and she LOVED it. The only one in this box so far that I did not care for is the Rose Caramel - the rose geranium oil flavor was strong and made me think of a room freshener. But, then again, it may just be my palate. I just checked out the website and am thinking hard about making a selection. Very pricey, but the chocolates are to die for.

They have excellent single origin dark chocolate truffles. Delicious, pricy, but not reasonable. You got to pay for the real estate in the Ferry Building with something.

Ordered caramels from here. Bunch of them has the flavor of burnt sugar in a bad way. Like bitter, burnt sugar and the caramel was darker than the other ones. Poor quality control.

Expensive but totally worth it. Very interesting flavors. The truffles should be savored, allowing the flavors to develop over time. I wish they had a make your own box option, as I can’t stand coffee, mint, or lemon in chocolate. The brownies are delicious and should be eaten in pairs, I think. The cherry two ways are pretty good. I find eating them in handfuls confuses one’s taste in a pleasing way. Not a fan of the s’mores. The dark chocolate Easter eggs are amazing! When I die, bury me with a box of ginger hearts!

After looking around at all my options I went with the Peanut Butter Puck, the Sesame Nougat and the Seasonal Carrot Cake Truffle. I have to say the Peanut Butter Cup was the only disappointment of the the three. Honestly, I felt like the milk chocolate wasn't sweet enough and the peanut butter wasn't salty enough. But I did enjoy the Sesame Nougat! Although I feel it was more of a chewy brittle that the fluffier nougats I'm used to. The main flavors in this we're definitely the rich dark chocolate and sweetness of the caramalized "nougat". The Carrot Cake was definitely the most unique and ended up being my favorite. It contained a layer of carrot jelly and a layer of a spiced chocolate ganache, all enticed in white chocolate. When I first bit in, tasting all these things separately was a little strange. But once they all melt together in your mouth, so good! And actually tastes like Carrot Cake!

OMG! OMG! OMG! Delicious, must try, heaven in your mouth! While they don't make their own chocolate their confection creations are quite addictive. Quite pricy but you pay for quality!

I bought the Sepia dark milk chocolate collection . There are 9 different types of chocolate in the box. I liked almost all of them.
