"If a restaurant’s going to specialize in steak frites, it would be best for everyone involved if they were good at making it, and in the case of Red Cow, they definitely are. It’s a sleek, not-stuffy space where you can choose your cut of beef as well as a sauce to go with, and each plate has a nice pile of crispy rosemary-infused fries ready for an aioli party. You shouldn’t stop there - the burger and the short rib croquettes are also very good." - aimee rizzo
"This French brasserie is all about steak frites. You can choose from one of seven cuts like a New York strip or center-cut ribeye served with great rosemary fries. And make sure you exercise your $7 right to try all the sauces, like a particularly delicious green peppercorn sauce and tangy red wine reduction. While this laid-back place is perfect for a date night, it fills up with smoke every so often (we assume from searing steaks). If their quaint patio is available, that’s the place to be. Otherwise, you might walk out of here full and satisfied, but smelling like a grill." - aimee rizzo, kayla sager riley
"On a double date, it’s important to go somewhere that’s nice but not too romantic. Red Cow is a French brasserie that fits within these parameters. It specializes in really great steak frites, but you could also build a mix-and-match meal with some salads, charcuterie, and all sorts of French classics. If it’s nice out, sit at one of the picnic tables on the patio." - aimee rizzo
"Sitting out on the patio under string lights at Red Cow feels like going to a country barn wedding where steak frites are on the menu, without someone’s drunk uncle giving a self-deprecating toast nobody asked for about how love isn’t real, the end is nigh, and the only person who understands his inner turmoil is Marcel the MC. Also, Red Cow has blankets available if it gets chilly out." - Aimee Rizzo
"Red Cow specializes in steak frites, and they’re pretty committed. Start with some charcuterie (we like the short rib croquettes), and then select one of seven steak cuts paired with sauces like a red wine reduction or horseradish cream. Each steak comes with crispy rosemary-infused fries and garlic aioli. If you don’t want a steak, we’re not sure why you’re reading this guide, but the burger is a good runner-up." - Aimee Rizzo
