"BaLó is run by chef couple Lena María Grané and Ricky Smith who met while working in London, hence the unusual name of the restaurant which combines the first syllable of Barcelona and London respectively. The contemporary-influenced cooking here, which also showcases some international influences, is centred around several menus: one, a more reasonably priced “Mediodía” (midweek lunch only), and two more extensive menus entitled Baló and Degustación. This contemporary-style restaurant boasts a stylish and comfortable decor, pleasant lighting, as well as an attractive glass-fronted private dining room. Their modern cuisine infused with interesting global influences takes the form of several set menus: 'Baló', 'Degustación' and 'Mediodía' (the latter is only available for lunch service Tues-Fri). Expect creative dishes prepared with quality ingredients and drawing on modern techniques, plus local wines and intriguing cocktails. Access by bicycle is a breeze, since the restaurant is located in a 'bike-friendly' pedestrian street, as well as having parking right in front of the building. Interesting concept to touch to Michelin restaurant with fixed lunch menu for 28 euros. I had the sausage with celery as entry - lacking bit of taste of all the components. However, the pork tenderloins with pumpkin purée and pumpkin seeds was at the expectations. The pork was perfectly cooked sous vide. A bit of more of a taste would be nice. The finale was playful with a lemon crust, that liked the most. As we were sharing, some of the guys found the lemon cream itself was too strong. I found my happiness in the “crust”. Very delicate and finely crafted side panels with sesame seeds surrounding the creams. My wife had the salmon tartar and a stone bass. Th latter I liked very much the sauce. Feel free to experiment and offer yourself the prenatal to touch to the fine dine.

We went for the week day lunch menu for 28 euros which I honestly think is a great deal. Was it the best gastro food I have eaten no but considering the price of the menu I think it's harder to get better at that price range so value for money it was amazing. The dishes were tasty and well balanced with good quality ingredients. Honestly it's a great introduction to what the restaurant offers. The setting was also chic and the staff were friendly and professional. We will be going back to try the tasting menu at a later date to really assess and discover the chefs world

Elegant and modern restaurant with a calm atmosphere and attentive service. We had the €28 lunch menu, which turned out to be an excellent value — refined presentation, balanced flavours, and a chance to sample several creative dishes. The risotto was rich and earthy, the hake perfectly cooked and delicate, and the fig dessert a beautiful finish. Everything felt carefully prepared and well thought out. A great spot for a relaxed, high-quality lunch in Barcelona.

Balo is an incredible find in Barcelona! This Michelin restaurant offers an outstanding lunch deal — appetizer, main course, and dessert for just €28. The service is top-notch, attentive without being overbearing, and they’re constantly refilling your water, which is a nice touch. We started with the optional fried potato with truffle and manchego cheese, and it was absolutely stunning — rich, flavorful, and worth every bite. For mains, the mushroom dish delivered deep, earthy flavors, while the salmon was cooked to perfection with a beautifully crisp skin that elevated the whole plate. Dessert was the perfect ending: the combination of chocolate, sea salt caramel, and mascarpone tied everything together in a balanced and indulgent way. Between the flawless descriptions of each dish, the attentive service, and the incredible value, Bola is a must for anyone looking for a memorable lunch in Barcelona.

We came to this restaurant based on a recommendation, as we often dine at Michelin-starred places. However, you can't just walk in for lunch—I recommend making a reservation in advance. We tried the Menu del Dia. We really liked the waiters and the presentation of the dishes. However, the food itself was not tasty. I would even say it was terrible. It's unclear what the star was awarded for. We will come again for dinner to solidify our position or disprove it. The dishes are very specific. At the very beginning, they asked about allergies. I mentioned that due to my pregnancy, I cannot eat raw dishes. Yet, they served me almost raw pork and mushrooms. The dessert also contained raw eggs. This is terrible... In the end, my husband ate my portion. The decor is very basic, similar to a standard café, however, the tableware, cutlery, and glassware are all excellent quality.

Had their £28 lunch menu. As someone who’s usually considered to have a large appetite I did not expect to walk away full but I did. Waitresses kept asking me if I need any more bread but I’m full😂 The pan fried sea bream was super good and the presentation of everything was nice. The only thing that could be better is the sourdough was cold. I did also have a little bit of difficulty understanding the staff

We took the BaLo menu, which is €65 and contains of 6 dishes + dessert. You get the first 2 at the same time, these are small bites. All dishes were very tasteful and the staff was very friendly, they tried to explain every dish very well in English.

A serene late lunch. Some wonderful dishes - the filo pastry cigar filled with smoked salmon rilette, the almost creamy slow cooked chicken wrapped in shaved celery, the perfectly cooked sea bass with hazelnuts. The only slight miss was the dessert, which I didn't quite understand. Service was delightful. 11/10 experience, totally outstanding.
