"You can’t miss this stylish, orange-painted bistro which stands out against the greenery of a city park; in summer, dine on the terrace, under the trees. A sustainable ethos runs throughout, from the interior design to the ethically sourced produce used in the unfussy, boldly flavoured Swedish dishes." - Michelin Inspector

The 38 Best Restaurants in Stockholm, Sweden | Eater

"Restaurant Oxenstierna is the brainchild of silversmith and designer Sebastian Schildt and chef Elvira Lindqvist, who wanted to create a crossroads for design, craftsmanship, and sustainable food and drinks. It’s set in an 18th-century malmgård (manor), and the daily menu focuses on vegetables from Swedish farmers. Go for a seat at the chef’s table, or, during the summer, grab a table under the huge oak trees in the leafy garden, close to the open, wood-fired grill." - Per Styregård

I enjoy a place that cooks normal ingredients into fabulous dishes. Combined with a dine in the kitchen environment, the whole dinner was a great experience. The beef tartar, which I’m referring to their own creation 50/50 tartar, was a harmony of different savory bites. The artichokes’ crunchiness matched the softness of the beef, and the egg yolk added the creaminess without extra grease. The grilled perch absorbed in the charcoal scent was very tender, the seafood butter sauce was not so salty, and the carrots balanced the whole dish well. My personal favorite was the leek and potato dish, such plain ingredients can do miracle when cooked right. The potatoes were served both fried and deep fried, and the leek was served both fried and into a cream sauce. That created multi layers of texture, and the seasonings were used just right. I would definitely come back for new dishes in the future.

Our dinner was wonderful and the staff were so kind and friendly. The cocktails were excellent and the selection of dishes was refreshing and felt well suited for for the summer. Dishes were fresh and vibrant, and the cocktails were well suited for the meal. Standout dishes were the tartlets, artichoke, tartar, and cucumber and white chocolate dessert. We also enjoyed the overall atmosphere and interior of the restaurant.

Food was great, set menu has nice connections. Correct use of salt, fat, sweet, sour. Also nice use of soft and crunchy in the dishes. I was a bit disappointed at the end as they didn't serve elderflower tea as it would complete the circle back to the first dish. Staff was friendly but I had mixed feelings.

The place as a great atmosphere and the cooking is tasteful. The grilled butter we had was unexpected and truly appreciate. The size of the dishes are enough to fill you, however we were clearly disappointed with the size of one of the starter (the choux) which were 95kr but truly smalls. Except that, we had an amazing time and experience. When it started raining, the waitress proposed us two alternatives, which is truly appreciated.

Restaurant Oxenstiernan situated in an old city park surrounded by beautiful old buildings that dates back to the 18th century and greenery is one of my favourites in Stockholm. With a menu that follows the seasons using sustainable produce, sourced from local farmers created into mouthwatering dishes by Creative Director Elvira Lindqvist. The founder, designer and silver smith Sebastian Schildt has a great food interest. What he and Elvira has created is a fantastic haven where Swedish design meets sustainable cuisine

We dined at Restaurang Oxenstiernan while visiting Stockholm. We were excited to dine there because of the sustainability mention in the Michelin Guide. Unfortunately my husband’s oyster arrived to the table with a worm wiggling in it. The server apologized, but it did taint our experience.

Impeccable. Food was excellent; the sauces and dips are to die for giving a completely different character to the dishes. The airy dining room filled with contemporary art objects creates a relaxed vibe to further enjoy the tasty food.
