Paris’s Best Fine Dining Restaurants Are International | Eater

"Located near the Arc de Triomphe in the 17th arrondissement and awarded a Michelin star in 2021 for its colorful, punchy and well-seasoned food, this Mexican fine-dining restaurant reimagines traditional flavors with meticulous technique: its house mole is built from up to 40 ingredients, a signature sea bream ceviche is brightened by a mild jalapeño sauce, and a recurring tribute dish channels the chef’s grandfather — a house-made blood-style sausage seasoned with chipotle and cinnamon paired with marinated octopus dressed in recado negro and a rich beet mole." - Vivian Song

Oxte

"This pleasant and cosy little restaurant in the Étoile neighbourhood, near the Arc de Triomphe, serves delicious, contemporary Mexican-influenced cuisine. French ingredients are infused with condiments, herbs and spices by a talented and passionate Mexican chef, who also gets involved with the service. He turns out savvy and perfectly cooked dishes that are skilfully prepared with invigorating seasonings: marinated sea bream with a turnip medley and salsa tatemada, or fish from the market, al pastor, mole with carrot, pineapple or pigeon, mole Oxte, leek and pickled grapes. This colourful, punchy and well-seasoned food is so good you'll soon be back for more!" - Michelin Inspector

Lovely restaurant. Limited space Michelin Star. Vegetarian option. All you have to do is ask when you reserve. They made me exquisite dishes. I was so thrilled. My husband is a meat eater and he thoroughly enjoyed his meal. It’s best to have reservations. However, we stayed at the Dadou hotel and they suggested it. We contacted them the day before and were able to get a reservation for the next day. Highly elevated and artistic Mexican food. Highly recommend them.

Oxte in Paris is truly deserving of its Michelin star. The exquisite haute cuisine with a Mexican twist is nothing short of spectacular. The service is impeccable, the ambiance is refined yet welcoming, but most impressive is the stunning precision in every dish. A fantastic evening at a fine dining restaurant that remains approachable in price. Bravo to the team!

5/5 - Book your table right now and read the reviews later. Restaurant Oxte was overall an excellent gastronomical experience. The flavors, the portions, the service, and the ambiance worked so perfectly. The flavors are inspired by Mexican cuisine, but they are not strictly traditional dishes. It’s a well executed fusion of flavors that must be enjoyed if you have the opportunity. The service provided by the front staff was extremely personal given that this place has about ten tables. Also, since this restaurant is small it provides you with a warm and cozy vibe.

Wow had a brilliant experience at Oxte for my birthday. Really cannot recommend enough! Elevated ideas, with true Mexican flavours - a new spin on a cuisine that we think we know. The Michelin star is well deserved. The host was very welcoming, explaining each course, offering exciting amuse-bouches, such as the chilli and lime sorbet which was really breathtaking. Loved this experience and will definitely be back!

Worthy of it's Michelin star. Can't say about value as 6-course meal was a present. Mexicain touch was subtle (hey this is Paris) but noticeable. The chef came out and was friendly and gave some meaning to th dishes.

I’m still reeling from the experience (and honour) of the gastronomic harmony of both French and Mexican cuisine and flavours. My simple culinary mind still cannot comprehend how such a feat was accomplished - from the amuse-bouche to the starters to the mains (the prawn and pork were DIVINE!!) ending with a tantalising dessert. Oxte is truly a work of art that has been brought to life by the core team of chefs Enrique, Mon and Ziren (shoutout to my brother!) - I wholeheartedly recommend Oxte to anyone who wants to sample a divine fusion of these two cuisines. Thank you team Oxte for this memorable meal - will definitely visit again should I come back to Paris **Also shoutout to the cornbread and butter, I must’ve eaten nearly 3 portions 😂

Overall a great restaurant. The ambience was super cozy and calm. The music and setting were very nice. All the dishes had a very interesting and tasty combination of French and Mexican flavors. I recommend the 6 course menu. Delicious bread and butter. Nice selection of wines. Coffee was really good too. A must in Paris!

This is the best restaurant I’ve ever been in my life. It definitely deserves more recognition that one Michelin stars. The atmosphere is homely yet enticing; the service is friendly; the attention to detail on the food is unbelievable.

Yelp
Here me out on why I am doing 5 stars- while the food wasn't my favorite (I'm not one to eat a lot of seafood), the experience was definitely worth it. This is a special occasion kind of place. The price tag is pretty dang high, but it is fun to do once and be able to say you've been to a Michelin star restaurant. The restaurant is on a side street not far from the arc de Triomphe. You can wander around the arc and grab some wine at one of the neighboring restaurants. This is what we did as we had the first reservation of the night and got there before they opened. The staff was so nice and open to explaining everything (even to us Americans, aka me, who was asking too many questions). The Sommelier was such a cool dude- he gives off UFC fighter vibes and then starts talking and is the nicest man ever! He walked us through all the wine choices and explained the different flavors and what he thought would pair best for our meal (even asked what price point we are comfortable in, which I thought was very kind). The food came out quickly! I really enjoyed all the appetizers and the palate cleansers were divine! Now I normally am not one to eat any seafood... I don't like the fishy smell or the slimey texture. That being said- this seafood was prepared like nothing I have encountered! It was so delicious (once I got over my mental block of it being seafood lol). Octopus freaks me out with the suction cup looking things but they cooked it to be not slimey, full of flavorful, and had no little cups on mine! While it is not food I would normally eat, or probably get to experience again, it was truly enjoyable and so full of flavor. Take it with a grain of salt, as I am not a professional food reviewer (though I'd love to be!)... I thought all the dishes were well prepared and plated beautifully!

Yelp
Oxte was hands down the best meal of our 20 day holiday across London and Paris. They offered a 5 course or 8 course chef menu the night we dined with them. We chose the five course dinner as we were not certain our 5 and 7 year old boys could make it through an eight course experience. First Course: An asparagus wrapped in beef, corn & bean taco & a fried filled ball Second Course: Tuna Ceviche Ring Third Course: Fish Fourth Course: Steak Fifth Course: Dessert Every course was amazing. The entire family enjoyed this experience. Oxte's service was on point, the food was exceptional and the atmosphere was nice. My family and I look forward to returning for the eight course meal when we visit again.

Yelp
I enjoyed the food, but the service was terrible. The chef is Mexican, and he has crafted some really special plates that honor his Mexican heritage. However, we were treated fairly terribly from the moment we got there. 3 days prior, I updated my reservation from 6 people to 5 people; they didn't check and kept on hanging THEIR mistake over my head. I even had to pull out my phone that showed me changing the reservation and the waiter took my phone as proof. The waiter made comments like "oh well we're accommodating you even though you only showed up with 5 people and not 6" like HE was doing US a favor for us patronizing this restaurant! Sir, this is PARIS! There are TONS of Michelin-starred restaurants. It was just not a good experience, and I felt so on edge. When I'm eating food, I like to feel relaxed and affirmed and safe. Not accuse of wrongdoing when I was thoughtful.

Yelp
We won't be back. This is a Michelin star restaurant that we booked weeks in advance. But when we arrived the host informed us we had no reservation. He was really rude, bizarrely severe, and told us to leave. Frankly, the place is quite small and it was an embarrassing scene in front of the other patrons. We showed him the email confirmation on our phone, but he was unmoved. We were not in the system and had to leave. Outside we were dumbfounded. Why were we treated like that? Like we were a**holes for being there. It was so confrontational, and we could only respond with stunned silence. Then my husband remembered we'd received a text just a few hours earlier confirming our reservation. So he went back in and showed the host the text. AGAIN the host told us to leave. Now there were new reasons. Now we were accused of not securing our seats with a credit card. And we were not in the system. We had no booking. Outside my husband then remembered that he'd secured the reservation with a credit card, and we'd be charged a fee if we failed to dine. So he went back in for a third time. He's pretty soft spoken, but he was firm: we had a booking. They'd charged our card. The host looked in his computer again, and this time he found our reservation. He acted like it was a simple misunderstanding. We were finally seated, and after so much drama I thought someone would come over and apologize at the table. That never happened. In fact, we were ignored for at least ten minutes. It's too bad. The food was good, and after dinner we had a nice conversation with the chef/owner. We never told him about the problems at the front of the house. This is a very expensive restaurant, even by Paris standards. The experience should be positive. We felt abused.
