The 13 Best Coffee Shops In Nashville - Nashville - The Infatuation
"When the craving for an espresso tonic or soda hits, you want Retrograde in East Nashville. This old garage-turned-sleek coffeehouse feels like a morning retreat, where you can stop by for a drink or a breakfast sandwich. We love the green pepper, onion, egg, and cream cheese version, especially when it’s on a sourdough bagel. Approaching your inbox here feels easier at a window seat next to some cheeky potted plants. With all the other meetings happening around you, it’s easy to convince yourself you’re in a hotel lobby logging on for a bit rather than just getting through Thursday." - ann walczak
The Best Coffee Shops in Nashville | Eater Nashville
"The Dickerson Pike shop has a nice patio for those rare days that beg to be spent outdoors. A favorite spot among locals, Retrograde serves locally roasted beans and offers other coffee from around the southeast, alongside a menu of toasts, bagels, pastries, and more. The City Heights location (2714 Clifton Avenue) turns into Bar at Retrograde at night, offering both classic and new cocktail creations after 5 p.m., including the Bloodletter made with red wine, apple brandy, pomegranate, and hibiscus. Retrograde also owns local favorite Ugly Mugs Coffee and Tea in East Nashville, with two more locations planned for Germantown and Inglewood in 2026." - Ellen Fort
Neighborhood roaster known for playful signatures and sourdough bagels; its Germantown shop opened in 2025 per Axios Nashville. Try the Shagbark latte or espresso old fashioned to taste their house style.
Love a cute coffee shop ! This one’s got a fun giant panoramic view of the stadium and lots of spaces and places to park yourself to enjoy a great coffee. I ordered a matcha of course . Yum. Great service . Location makes this coffee shop the perfect stop .

This is a primo spot for an exquisite Cortado andddd with ample space / desks / outlets / good wifi to work! Such a gem of a cafe. Great lighting and big windows overlooking the baseball stadium too. Really enjoyed my stay! Decaf oat Cortado was simply perfect 😍

The purple rain latte might be my favorite latte ever, the feel of the place is top notch, and the service came with a smile.

Honestly I don’t really write reviews but I went here twice. I live in the building it’s connected to. The first time was really good I liked the coffee and the people were friendly. The second was the total opposite the coffee was good but the person behind the counter came off as if I was annoying them by simply placing an order. I try not to complain but it just was a lousy experience I felt compelled.

this place truly never misses. Staff is extremely attentive and helpful, food/bevs are always consistent (and I go almost every day..), plenty of seating inside and outside, rarely a line. Definitely a hidden gem. Get the Hey Girl matcha latte and breakfast burrito.

Wow—where do I even begin? The Classic sandwich was incredible, with a super fluffy bagel that hit the spot. I tried the Shagbark latte for the first time and it’s definitely my new favorite. Plus, the view of the Sounds Stadium right outside the window is unbeatable. Can’t wait to hang out here during game days. 10/10 recommend!

Yelp
Coming from the apartments nearby, it was a short walk over to the shop. It's right next to the baseball field off to the side. There are other businesses surrounding this shop that people may check out as well. Just a really cool area for chilling out solo or with friends. You walk in to a counter to order with some seating near the window or there's seating right outside the entry door. The baristas were welcoming and friendly. The shop is attached to more apartments so there's an area for more seating that is shared between them. There was plenty of charging areas and comfortable seating. Our drinks were served perfectly temperate and delicious. I'd recommend this spot.
