In the former Revolución space, this upbeat spot serves tacos, flautas, and margaritas with a modern touch. The Journal Record documented its local ownership transition, keeping the patio scene and service humming.

Service was great and food came out pretty quickly. We had this at an event that they catered and were anxious to try the full menu. We tried the Queso Fundido which was tremendous. Served with chips (right amount of thickness and crunch) and fresh tortillas. Great way to start the meal. I ordered the steak and chicken fajitas, meat was cooked well and was great. It also featured a fresh cooked Jalapeño which was the spicy I like. The kiddo had a burrito which was huge and gone by the end of the meal. The wife had the empanadas which were tasty too. Elotes were good and the refried beans are extra tasty. We will be back.

I am from NYC and was visiting OKC with my daughter and she said wanted to try Birria tacos. Many of the Mexican places we looked up didn't have them and then we found RevMex so we gave it a try. We loved everything! The popcorn was addictive, the chips and salsas were flavorful, and we had the mango shrimp ceviche as an app which was delicious! My daughter LOVED the birria tacos and my el pastor and carnita tacos were soooo good! The corn tortillas were so light, fluffy and fresh, some of the best I've ever had! BUT THE STANDOUT of the entire meal was DAVID, our server. His suggestions and friendly conversation and professionalism was 10/10! I hope management knows how lucky they are to have him! When I come back to OKC next month I will definitely be back, and will have to try some margaritas next time too🙏🏻 Thanks for a great meal and experience. 🌮 🌯 🥑 🇲🇽

Google
I received recommendations for this place so we decided to try it out one Friday morning. The atmosphere was pretty fun and lively but the food was seriously lacking everything. I ordered the Chilaquiles, it came with lots of chips and hardly any egg. I like to try Chilaquiles when available however this is by far my least favorite place for it. They also bring popcorn instead of chips, that was different.. and not in a good way. What's worse, they don't serve coffee but don't allow outside coffee? I hadn't planned on bringing my own coffee as I assumed they sold coffee there but was annoyed to learn that they prohibit outside coffee when they don't even sell it to begin with. With that said, we didn't have a horrible experience but it wasn't memorable either.

Google
Having walked by on a few visits to town, I had the expectation that this was the kind of taco place where you order at a counter, can only get bottled drinks, and maybe had a salsa bar. Instead a found a more sit down restaurant experience with decent service and excellent food. I had the steak which came with fresh corn tortillas and black beans. I don’t like places that charge for chips and salsa but I lucked out that during happy hour it’s free. The spicier salsa had an odd flavor but the regular salsa when mixed with it was great. Highly recommended if you’re nearby and I’ll likely visit again for a burrito since I was struggling to choose between it and the steak.

Google
Good food, great service. This is one of our go-to date night spots. Baja fish tacos or crispy cauliflower tacos are delicious. The Stoplight appetizer is a hit. They have seasonal/rotating margaritas that are always good. We have really enjoyed the servers over the years, good folks. We'll be back! FYI, the AC is strong inside (works very well) so if you're cold-natured, bring a jacket.

Google
We ate here for brunch. We saw it driving by and decided to stop. Their patio has unbrellas for shade and is dog friendly, which was nice. The popcorn is different but in a good way. I ordered the loaded tater tots, too much meat for me, but im sure others wouldn't agree. We also ordered the breakfast burrito, and both were okay. The service was great and not too noisy being on a busy street. Just not someplace I would try again.

Google
Our first time here around noon with maybe 4 other tables occupied. The vibes were great, but our food and service left something to be desired. The rice and tacos had little flavor, and while they were decently sized and looked good, not much seasoning. My shrimp taco was supposed to be Nashville spicy and was not at all. The chicken in my husband's fajita chicken taco had no marinade or seasoning. Our service wasn't bad per say, she wasn't overly friendly either, more like bare minimum. They serve popcorn which is kind of quirky, and we ordered the usual chips and dips and they were the best part of our meal.

Google
As a couple, we walked in about 6:30 on a Saturday night. The restaurant was far from full. We were seated next to a very loud table of 5 people who had been drinking for some time. The waitress was far from attentive and my order was wrong. She never corrected my order even after telling her it was wrong. She came by to see us so very little that I had to go to the bar and ask to break a $20 because the waitress never came by to pick up the tab and give us change. I ordered a burrito which was so greasy that I didn't finish it. We had been to this restaurant before and had largely positive experiences. This is probably our last trip to this place.

Yelp
Experienced Rev Mex last night. Taylor "like Swift" was such a joy and took great care of us. Food was great, margaritas were great, all around great evening. As a restaurant owner myself, I love sharing great experiences about other local restaurants! #eatlocal #justgo Cheers, Candace

Yelp
This was a fun place. They had seasonal margarita flights. These drinks were amazing. Tasted great and went down easily. I can't remember the names of the different ones but some had cinnamon stick, lavender, lemon, star anise, dried apples and orange slices, etc. These alone are worth going to REV Mex. Their chips and salsa were great. Hot and fresh chips too. I had a filling and tasty carnitas taco and Mexican street corn. IDK why people put so much mayo in the street corn. My recipe without the mayo is way better than this. I wanted to try it and I'm glad I did, but I would not get it again. This restaurant had a good vibe to it. I would definitely go back when I am in Oklahoma

Yelp
Good parking, big menu, great cocktails, colorful atmosphere and the popcorn is my fav

Yelp
Adding a review - this place is still great and still has awesome pineapple juice. Their seafood tacos are also excellent! Very attentive and helpful service and their ambiance is truly rad. Check it out!

Yelp
This restaurant has amazing margaritas and chips and salsa .the salsa was warm in temperature i would rather it be cold .I had a taco and it was delicious. I sat at the bar and my bartender was very nice and attentive. It was mother's day and she gave me a flower . The food here was big portions and there is a paio as well

Joshua S.

Yelp
Solid vibes, atmosphere and service. Only thing I'd adjust is the slightly fishy shrimp on my surf and turf. The queso was INCREDIBLE, and the coco's burrito was excellent. I would change my order for next time, but overall great experience!

Yelp
Easy parking, clean restaurant with friendly folks working! This was my first time here and honestly everything was delicious!

Yelp
Late dinner on a Monday - calm atmosphere inside and with the staff. They do play music but not too loud to be able to have a conversation with family or friends. The bar tender was fantastic and gives drink suggestions as well as your space to take your time to order. First time ordering the blackened pescado, and it is the reason for this review! Highly recommend! Not "too blackened" if you know what I mean. It is subtle, tasty, and had a delicious sauce, cilantro, and then rice and beans to pair your bites with. I could only eat about 2/3 the dish - so great portion. Will absolutely order it again and recommend it to others! Side note: I usually order the pozole or borracho beans with a taco and cannot leave a review without a 10/10 recommendation for the beans and pozole!
google avatar

Teaira J.

Yelp
Yes this place is kinda Tex mex but they put a little twist in their food/concept so will continue eating here. Most of the time when I come here I get some kind of taco because they are just that good minus my most recent visit with my salmon taco. I wasn't crazy about that one. A friend of mine got the Birra tacos and boy did they look amazing! Our service was good and I just love the vibe and feel of the restaurant. We were seated by one of the exits so every time someone left, a big freezing gust of wind blew over us. The weather isn't their fault but it did make for some rough moments.
google avatar

May T.

Yelp
A super casual spot that's great for small bites, tasty tacos, and drinks. I especially love their cauliflower taco! Their margaritas are solid, and the menu has good options if you want to try a little of everything. Perfect for a casual lunch/dinner with a quick, satisfying bite.
google avatar

Jill W.

Yelp
The popcorn they bring to your table when you sit is so tasty. Buy a bag. Take it home with you. We ordered the Queso Fundido to start. I didn't get a pic I was too excited to eat it. I ordered the Birria Tacos and my lunch date the chicken empanandas. It was all delicious. Service was prompt and friendly. It had a chill bar vibe that we enjoyed. Go try them out.

Yelp
The food was wonderful! I had 2 tacos and a side of beans and rice. From the time I walked in I was greeted and immediately seated. Ash was our waitress and she was very friendly. She took our order without paper and remembered the entire order. I am from the south and love Arlnod Palmers. They brought me an Arnold Palmer and it was actually sweet and good. I was shocked. I did not particularly like the Baja fish. The flavor was great the fish itself was a bit greasy and kind of mushy. However, I told Ash and she offered another option or swap. The manager then came over and took care of the swap for me. I told her the flavor was good it was just the fish itself. The quesosberria is a must try if you're a cheese lover. It's a taco with cheese on the outside that's deep fried. Loved it. The Ambiance was very calm and inviting. It has a relaxed vibe inside. The workers seem chill and not stressed. Everyone seemed to love working there as well. 10/10 I highly recommend trying this place if you're looking for wonderful food. Oh and the desert absolutely delicious.

Yelp
Had a very interesting experience here. It was fairly slow so got seated right away. Our server was fantastic and very attentive. We started out with the house queso (large) and margaritas. The drinks were great and strong. The queso was fair and could definitely have been warmer. The birria was good. The prices were also quite steep for the serving size and quality. Seems like it would be a fun place to bring friends for drinks later in the evening.

Yelp
From Burria Tacos to Blackened Fish, this place is delicious. Clean, with truly friendly servers, we've been twice in the past week!! Don't miss it.
google avatar

Yelp
We were on the hunt for a great happy hour and got lucky stumbling into Rev Mex! Alec was our bartender and couldn't have been more attentive--he really made our experience special. We devoured the amazing house-made salsa, queso, and chips, and sipped on a mi chalada, a margarita flight, and an unforgettable Alec special (seriously, it was to die for). The manager, Ross, also checked in with us, which was a nice touch. He shared all the exciting plans for Cinco De Mayo, and now we can't wait to come back for the celebration. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Um......wow. Legit still at my table, eating, leaving this review. AMAZING!!!! Being from Arizona this place is real Mexican food. Just wow. Coco burrito is so on point I can't hardly contain myself. Thank ypu so much. Amazing g server, David too!
google avatar

Binita R.

Yelp
It was a wonderful place. We went to celebrate Christmas dinner, and it was a lot of fun. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to take any pictures. The food was delicious, and we were lucky to arrive during happy hour, so I had a few drinks too. One new thing I noticed was that they served Mexican chips and popcorn when you visit, which I absolutely loved. The best part is that when you leave, they give you the same popcorn to take home. I was really happy about that because it had a unique flavor that wasn't spicy or sweet, just really good. I even took some to California and shared it with my family, and they loved it too!

Emma B.

Yelp
GAGE SINGLE-HANDEDLY MADE OUR NIGHT!! He made wonderful drink and menu recommendations, even as we were leaving gave us ideas for next time. He exemplified customer service! Birria tacos, chips, salsa, and popcorn were great. Not very busy on Sunday nights (or maybe just this one). Seriously had a great time!
google avatar

Christen B.

Yelp
I'm all about a taco Tuesday, but this place didn't do it for me. You're offered their complementary popcorn, which I did enjoy. I order the chicken tinga tacos. I was expecting them to have more flavorful, and didn't quite get that. Their salsa is unique compared to others, and I liked it the more I kept eating it. I will say the employees are very friendly all around tho.

Madison W.

Yelp
If you're a fan of rich, slow-cooked meats, the barbacoa tacos are a must. The beef was fall-apart tender and had that melt-in-your-mouth texture. You could taste the spices and the hours it must have taken to get that flavor. I kept it simple with cilantro and onions, but you could easily dress these up if you wanted. The tortillas were warm and soft, and didn't break apart. We sat at the bar and the bartender was super helpful with recommendations. This place really knows how to do tacos right.
google avatar

Christy S.

Yelp
It's hard for me to give 5 stars, but I will say 4.5. We had an awesome experience here. The service was top notch. The vibe was fun and comfortable. The complementary sweet and spicy popcorn was such a pleasant surprise. I absolutely loved it, and it was such a fun snack to munch on while you choose what to order. We started with the queso fundido, my idea of a perfect appetizer. Pause here to realize we were almost full before our entrees even arrived. We ordered the empanadas, which were ok, birria tacos, good but again, I was too full to really appreciate them. We had the elote for our side, and we really enjoyed that. Now, I know I said we were full, but the churro bites caught my eye, so we gave them a try. Sooooo good. Please save room for these. Give this place a try!
google avatar

Ashley V.

Yelp
Service was great! I went for the Kiwi, do you love me margarita and as a lover of all tropical fruits, this hit the spot! The service was great, a group of 8 of us got seated pretty quickly on Saturday night without a reservation. I refer to this as "hipster" Tex mex since instead of chips and salsa or queso they give seasoned popcorn, which is pretty good, I'd just personally prefer chips and salsa. Our table got the chips and salsa and queso which we shared as a table, the red salsa was my favorite! Not too spicy but had just enough quick. I got the shrimp and fish tacos which were. I'd definitely get the fish again, I thought the they were a little skimpy on the shrimp. The claim to fame was definitely the flautas, my partner ordered them and I had a bite and he had to fight me off, they were delicious!
google avatar

Austin K.

Yelp
I live right around the corner and have been coming here for years. There has recently been new owners and I feel like the menu and food quality have gone up! Can't beat the Party Pint on a Friday. A big highlight for me is the Baja fish taco. It's the best fish taco in town in my opinion.
google avatar

Dee K.

Yelp
The food was soo good. There were seven of us and we all enjoyed the food. I ordered the BLACKENED PESCADO BOWL, sooo goood, highly recommend and their Margaritas are outstanding and very reasonably priced.
google avatar

Nequel B.

Yelp
Good food, chill vibe. Went around 3:00pm Just enough to kiss the lunch crowd. Bartender was Super nice. The location is always clean and the staff has always been nice. I highly recommend the margarita flight it os delicious.
google avatar

Mary H.

Yelp
Food was great but $6.50 a taco sounds extreme! Carne asada was full of flavor and tender and tortillas were thick good homemade! Baja fish was my favorite and the habanero salsa made it even better. Nice crisp and not greasy. Great service, and very clean place. Bathrooms were immaculate with purse hooks, appreciated. Full bar with a fun vibe!!! Great place for happy hour it looks like. Outdoor seating for those cool . tasummer nights

Lino S.

Yelp
If I could put 0 stars I would. Food doesn't have much flavor to it, ordered the carne asada and it was mushy, the quesabirras were unflavorful and the burrito de carne de pastor was chewy like gum. Overall there are much better restaurants then this establishment take your business elsewhere and don't waste your money here.
google avatar

Tonika K.

Yelp
Thought I was trying a new restaurant but it is the same place just a name change? My bestie and I had a great time with the Margarita flight and the birria tacos. Great service when we got there and all of the drinks were good. The popcorn was so good and one of the best house margs I've had in a while.
google avatar

Sonali D.

Yelp
The only place you need to be on Taco Tuesday! Happy hour is ALL day. Taco Tuesday includes reduced price tacos, drink specials, other happy hour specials on other food! Lots of food options! The margs are STRONG! The grilled fish taco is to die for. I asked for a side of habanero salsa, and it brought the heat. I have so many other things on my "to try" list - including the chicken fajitas, which when brought out to others filled the whole restaurant with an amazing smell!! Make plans for your next Taco Tuesday here! You won't regret it!!
google avatar

Jhara D.

Yelp
Service was very slow and the food a little pricey for a mock of fuzzys taco duplicate.
google avatar

Natalie L.

Yelp
Easy to get a reservation for a group of six. Parking was easy and we were seated upon arrival. Greeted with enthusiasm and humor by our waiter, Larry, who took good care of us and made recommendations. Great queso, salsa and fresh entrees.
google avatar

Amanda L.

Yelp
If I could leave negative stars I would. To start though, the ambiance is cool and gastropub-ish. The drinks were good and our server I believe her name was Eddie was AMAZING. however the way management treats people is laughable and the food was less than mediocre. There was a beautiful back lady out in the cold on the patio by herself. If I had to guess I would assume she was homeless. I asked the server if she could go take her order and put it on our tab. She said absolutely! Next thing I know the lady on the patio is leaving. Panicking that she wasn't going to get her food I was about to go after her. Before I could, the manager and possibly owner comes over to inform us that he had asked the lady to leave and they are unable to serve "people like that" unsure if he was referring to the possibility that she was homeless or her race. I was flabbergasted. Either way, I am so disheartened and disgusted with the way this situation was handled. The icing on the cake was when I went into the restroom, this was the photo posted in the bathroom. Unless you support discrimination and bigotry don't eat here.
google avatar

Mark G.

Yelp
The food here is FIRE!!! Sooooo good! We have been using this place for business lunches and EVERYONE loves it. You MUST get the Queso Fundido and the Taco Birria. I promise you will not regret it!

McKenna H.

Yelp
We love Mexican food, but Rev was leaving much to be desired. Queso was the equivalent of velveeta. The carne asada was actually gross. I'm not sure what it was seasoned with, but it had a terrible aftertaste. Nearly inedible. The FIREBREATHER was good but something was missing. Our waiter was great and the restaurant has a cool vibe. Too bad we will not be returning.
google avatar

Yelp
Hello , this place is a Joke for Mexican Food .Here we go ! In my opinion.... When coming here ,make sure you bring 2 major items with you ! 1. Bring lots of Money 2 Bring a large jar of Vaseline, because once you walk out , you are going need both of them . The Food quality is not up to par , the portions Are very small , meats are dried out , No Flavor. My Daughter ordered a side of smash beans , and the portion was in a hot sauce container. Which was $ 5.00 , my son orders hot sauce, and each one was $8.00 Each for a small container of it . I ordered a $10.99 Breakfast Burrito, and when asked , if I wanted to add meat to it , another $ 5.00 per meat . Queso was in a very small bowl for $ 8.00 , I asked, is this a large bowl ? She replied, Yes . If I could give a ZERO STAR , I would.... So , if you like tasteless food , small portions, High price , not so good service , Then this place is for you ! Signed , Disappointed Customer....

Yelp
Another Friday night taco excursion led us to Rev Mex. Easy to find location and more than adequate parking made getting in a breeze. The restaurant had a fun upbeat atmosphere and looks like if we had come a little later it would have been a hopping place. The chips and queso were well above average and worth a try. The salsa was good too however it was served warm (and I'm not a fan of heated up salsa with my chips) but my wife enjoyed it. Moving on to the main event, we went all in trying the Carnitas, Al Pastor, Birria and Sweet potato/black bean. They were all good but for me the carnitas won the gold medal followed by the birria in a close second. On another note, they have this crazy popcorn flavored with sugar and tajin type spices, Muy Bien! Well worth the visit and though the menu didn't specify gluten free, they were accommodating. Can't wait to go back and try the rest of the menu.
google avatar

Kyla T.

Yelp
Such delicious, hot shrimp tacos! Awesome service from Gaige!! I'll definitely ask for him next time! Friendly, accommodating, fantastic vibes, above & beyond! I highly recommend this laid back spot!

Isabel S.

Yelp
gage was the best ever, his recommendations were top tier, & he gave us flowers 10/10 will come back
google avatar

Adrian D.

Yelp
It's Taco Tuesday. I got the Chicken Tinga it had so much flavor and the chicken was so tender the Carne Asada was amazing also. The margaritas are 6 dollars on Tuesday I just added strawberry mine. The service was good. I love going to REV Mex.
google avatar

Donna N.

Yelp
Gage was an amazing server! He was attentive and answered all questions we had. Great food and even better service with Gage!
google avatar

Andrew T.

Yelp
Recently changed ownership and some of the recipes are slightly different but still pretty solid. Margaritas are great but have gone up about $2. We still enjoy taco tuesdays.
google avatar

Kim H.

Yelp
Horribly aful pork meat my first bite was gristle followed by fat Lukewarm pork meat that was gristle and fat Very fatty meat no flavor not good not fresh ugh I eat anything and I didn't finish this.. Bad Queso was great I won't be back tho ever yuck

Yelp
We dined in on a Saturday night and it was steady but not overwhelmingly busy. They allow your to join the waitlist even on the weekends which was a plus. There's standard seating as well as a patio. When you sit down, you're given a bowl of seasoned popcorn which a unique yet yummy appetizer. The grilled fish taco is tasty. Word to the wise, 1 taco is not enough. The birria tacos need more flavor. The meat was not seasoned well. I couldn't decide which drink to order, so I tried the seasonal margarita flight. I don't remember all of the flavors but 2 were fruity and 1 was jalapeño mint. Pretty refreshing and a great choice for the curious and/or indecisive palette. So here's the rundown of the things we tried: Al Pastor wings-5/10 smoky taste not spicy at all Queso- 6/10 and more reminiscent of a fondue Salsa- 8/10 tasted homemade, very good Grilled fish taco- 8/10 Birria tacos-6/10 lacking flavor Overall, good place for a casual date night or girls night out.
google avatar

Christina V.

Yelp
The food here was delicious, fresh, and well-presented. We started off with the complimentary popcorn. Well seasoned. We ordered queso Fondido and added chorizo to it. This was probably my favorite dish. Ordered the margarita flight and they were all declined and well presented. For main dish ordered the chicken tinga, fried fish taco, and California burrito. The fried fish taco was my favorite out of the main dish. Server started off strong and didn't get refills. We were able to get our drinks to go. The ambiance was clean, open and trendy. the noise level was just right, allowing for easy conversation. Overall, I would come here to drinks and apps.
google avatar

Karl B.

Yelp
Note: I'm Celiac and need gluten-free options so my ratings reflect that. We think we've found our place for tacos! We came for lunch on a Sunday and it was relatively quiet with fun music in the background. We started with the Queso Fundido and it was fantastic. Flavor was mild but the pickled onions and peppers added great flavor and the cheese was stringy in a good way. We ate it with corn tortillas as the chips are cross-contaminated in the fryer. We got the kids quesadilla for our little guy and he gobbled it right up. My wife and I got tacos and they were awesome. I got the carne asada and pork carnitas and both had tons of meat and flavor. My wife got the carne asada and Baja fried fish taco and absolutely loved it! If I could rate this 4.5 stars I would have as everything was perfect except for the chips being in a shared fryer which for Celiacs is a no-go. We will definitely be back and excited with how good this place was!
google avatar

Janee' T.

Yelp
The place is pretty good. FYI bring a jacket cuz it's cold asf inside. Anyway went here around 9 last night. I got the chicken and shrimp fajitas, it came out hot and sizzling and tasted good. They only gave me 6 shrimp though which I thought was pretty skimpy. The one bite I took of rice and beans was pretty good. Sista got the fiesta platter, she said it was pretty good. I ate that the wings looked like they were softly cooked in the oven. I wanted to try them initially but I couldn't get past the way they looked. Niece had birria tacos and she said it was good. Mom enjoyed her ground beef taco, and nephew enjoys the asada. The margarita flight was too cute. The guacamole is good, I wish it came with the fajitas. The popcorn they give you to start off with his sweet and savory, so good. I wish she would have given us more. The elote was cool, it was super lemon/limey. Overall I would go back. To try a flight and maybe sit outside so I don't freeze. I was glad they were showing the nba playoffs of the tv.

Yelp
Food was great. Vibe was great. We sat on the patio and enjoyed it. Our server, Amber, was amazing.

Belle D.

Yelp
Great food and drinks! Get a new thing each time, have tried a lot on the menu and have never had anything bad from here, queso fundido is also a must!
google avatar

Carla S.

Yelp
Most of the tacos here are delicious (a few not so much). Skip the bland chicken tinga and go with their Baja-stlye fried fish or tender carnitas or flavorful al pastor tacos. Their queso fundito starter is also a nice option, with lots of chorizo (or you can sub any meat). Using locally made 6" tortillas, tacos range in price from $3.75 to $5 and are probably twice the size of your average street taco. Taco Tuesday is the best time to visit, when tacos are $3-4 all day, with other food & drink specials too. Be sure to ask for some of their fresh house salsa roja on the side to add another layer of flavor. I have yet to try their verde or habanero salsas. They don't do complimentary tortilla chip setups here, but they do provide a sweet & spicy kettle pop corn that is downright addictive. The blackberry lemon margarita over ice was a little too boozy for me, but honestly I prefer frozen (which they also do) since I'm not a big tequila drinker. Talk to my husband about that, and he loves the margaritas here. Service on my pair of visits was on point. Dining room updated and kept very clean . With their large central bar facing all sides, vibe is more bar than restaurant. Are the string lights supposed to make it feel like a cantina? Or maybe it's the tattooed hipster staff and indie rock playing loudly overhead? Or is it the sports playing on flat screens dotting the dining room? Lol. While authentic it is not, I will surely be back for more. Patio is especially nice when temperature is right. Though it would be nicer if they were open past 11 pm on the weekends, maybe until 1 am.
